During my visit, I was greeted by one personable staffer, and found a large, affordable, and well-labeled selection. However, most of the frames appeared filthy. In the age of Covid, I should not see fingerprints all over the samples to try on. I even asked if they’d all been wiped down and was clearly told an untruth—whatever the motivation.
Recently my son needed new glasses. We were the first ones in. They have a really good system to checking temperature and providing all you need to clean your hands. You check the frames out and whatever you touch you place on counter for them to clean. From beginning to end it was a pleasant experience. Since their in store lab is closed it is taking way longer to get the glasses. Used to be in an hour or so now it could be up to two weeks. Our case was one week. The call back to get your glasses gave us an appointment time for pick up and test glasses, etc. It was all quickly done. I thought the business has adjusted well to current circumstances. Have done our glasses here for years now. Have tried other places but my experience here has been the most positive of all. So we keep going back to it.
Ruben was an outstanding technician. He was helpful in making sure the frames I chose fit my face. He explained everything I needed to know about my vision care. Worked with me on an insurance issue and we resolved it amicably.Last time I visited Visionworks, it was at the Rolling Oaks Mall location. That wasnt a positive experience and I left in tears.Please value his level of excellence as an employee. I do.
This is a good place to get new glasses. A large variety of frames of every sizes. They accept most of the Insurances. If you have VSP insurance then take note that they do not send the glasses to be made at VSP labs, but send to their own visionworks lab. They have good knowledgeable associates that help you and provide good after sales services.

This place is a huge scam! Before going in to visionworks today I had gone somewhere else and they gave me a printout of what my insurance covers so I had more info than the associate at vision works thought I had. She tried telling me that I was looking at around $400out of pocket regardless of the frames I selected. There was no printout to show me an itemization of costs, just her wordNo thanks
Poor quality products. Service lacking. Would not replace my extremely expensive frames that chipped up, looked terrible. Recommend avoiding this place

I continue to return for the quality of service. I love wearing glasses, so choosing frames is an important decision for me. Fortunately, I get the best help from Eric R (I recommend calling and asking for him)! He is very personable and has such an acute attention to detail. I am very happy with him and this location.
This place is a rip off between overpriced frames and non stop upgrade pitch on lenses. They took advantage of a dependant by misleading them about in-network allowances and what should have been 100 glasses in network turned out to be 500 because of actual out of network status. My son walked out confused and overcharged.

Both my normal pair and my prescribed sunglasses work great. I see clear and comfortable and really like the new look! I appreciated the customer service and the organization of the frames by shape.
Noah was awesome!! I called during the day and Noah answered and I told him that the nosepiece on my glasses broke and he told me right away come on in and we can go ahead and fix that for you complementary. I went and he approached me immediately and helped me with my glasses. He was very helpful and very nice! I will definitely be coming back to this location from now on because of how great he was!
My husband & I experienced wonderful customer service at this location on Sunday, 10/21/18. Eric R tirelessly tried to find the frames that we were looking for by calling locations in other cities & waiting on the phone for about 15 minutes - only to be told they were not available. His personality was warm & friendly & funny. There was a smile on every employees face & all were friendly and greeted all customers as they entered or left. Weve been customers at this location for about 3-4 years now, and have never had a bad experience - only good ones! Always pleased with our glasses, too!
I’ve been coming to this location for years and have always been very satisfied. Today however, the staff went above and beyond to help me out. I lost my glasses and needed a pair quickly. Within less than an hour I had a new pair and on my way.Thanks for great customer service!!!
Received great service from Liam! Went in on a busy afternoon and all staff was very friendly and attentive. Liam helped me choose a pair of glasses and didnt try to oversell me on extras that I didnt need which was really nice. I also went in the next day to see if they sold repair kits so I could fix an old pair of glasses that were missing screws and Cameron fixed my old pair of glasses for free! That was great!
What a great experience at this location. While, the store is one of the busiest Visionworks I have seen by far, the manager and the staff is so fast and friendly. The manager Desiree Huerta is engaging with all customers walking through the door and giving immediate updates when staff is ready to help. I was very impressed! She is great at her job. She did not only check on me and several people she ensured the service was still great! I really enjoyed all of the team and there expertise! She has groomed a great group of people. This store provides the service I hope to see for years come. They have earned a life long customer! I hope that Desiree exudes this customer service with all of her sister stores in San Antonio! I loved the customer service I received from Desiree this morning. After my eye exam next door I went in asking for helping finding new frames. I told her I was clueless on what to get and she helped me so much! With her patience, I tried on several different frames out of a large selection and finally narrowed it down. She helped me decide what looks best on me!I like the way the frames are now separated by their shape instead of brand. This is helpful when choosing a style based in the shape of your face. I purchased contacts and glasses here today, have before, and will keep coming back. Thank you!
My experience with Visionworks today was awesome, and not short of a MIRACLE. AS SOON AS I WALKED INTO VISION WORKS, this young LADY, spoke to me and asked if there was anything she could help me with?? I told her whatHas been happening with my pair of glasses. She was very wonderful with me. She took my glasses and a pair of frames went toward the back of the store. She spoke to Akin Jon, in no less than 5 minutes she was standing and asked me to try on this pair of glasses,With my very own lens in them. Low and behold I could see again. Erica smiled and told me were square. So I’m writing this review, because I love Visionworks again. And Erica has restored my faith in humans again. This is one of the best optical places Ive been to. Lots of frames to chose from, very helpful and polite staff and glasses are ready really quick. I only had to wait 1 day since the lab was closed after leaving my prescription. Will come again for future glasses or contacts.

The layout of the store is very open and easy to navigate as they have rearranged the layout by frame shape/style, making it much easier to narrow down frames if you already have an idea of what you want. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Desiree helped me pick out my frames and set them up, making my experience quick and easy. I have been to this location for my past 3 pairs of glasses and definitely plan on returning when the time comes again!

So I go to Visionworks a couple weeks ago to get the nose padding on my old glasses fixed an Jonathon fixes then right up, I tried to pay him and he just shook my hand and said my pleasure no charge come back and see us. I thought “COOL!” So when I accidentally broke my old glasses I remember how Jonathon helped me, I went back. Desiree fitted me with a new pair at A very great price and got me a great deal on contact also, I will definitely be back for the contacts In 2 weeks and have made this location my new eye care stop! My wife and I got glasses for ourselves here and the customer service was excellent. We will definitely be back for our next set of glasses. And we will also be recommending to family and friends. We had originally went to Lenscrafters which ended up being a complete waste of time.
Ari helped me choose frames, and went through the options of lenses. I was getting 2 pair, and one was covered by insurance. She made sure that the second pair was the lower cost frames. They were ready in about 2 hours. When i went back to pick up my glasses a young man helped me. He made sure my glasses fit correctly and wouldnt slip off if i bent down.I had my dog with me, and they allowed her in the store. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes. Great service.
Extremely unhappy with the glasses. They do not fit properly and I have been told by Visionworks employees that they never will. Was sold defected frames. Have tried to contact the district manager and he/she does not return phone calls. Stay far away from this store.
I bought my first ever pair of glasses here and Cameron made it very easy to understand my options and make an informed decision that best suited my needs. Went in last Saturday as my sunglasses lost a screw connecting one of the temples. Manager waited on me quickly, replaced the screw and adjusted the temples and nose pads. Great service as always!!

I am a very stubborn person and I hate the hassle of replacing anything I own, that includes glasses. I have owned the pair I currently have for over 6 years and dont like going to any doctor. My wife finally convinced me to get a new pair and at first I was hesitant I didnt think Id find anything I liked for the price I wanted. I walked into this location and Erica greeted me right away and after a few short minutes she was able to point me in the right direction. She was very knowledgeable about the products and pricing available to me. I could not thank her enough for being so patient and understanding with me and my needs. Now in the coming days I will finally have a new set of glasses, thats right I found two different glasses. I would highly recommend Erica and the staff at this location to everyone that reads this.

WOW, what an experience! Could not believe how helpful and driven these group of folks are to everyone! I had a damaged pair of glasses and need a new pair as soon as possible. They fought long and hard to find a pair for me. They went to the length of traveling to several stores because I am extremely analytical about my frame and lenses. They found them and got them to me in a day!!! Yes, a day!! I don’t not believe that anyone would not speak anything but highly about this group of people! Horrible customer service no one greeted me for 10 minutes and rushed me to pick out frames I ended up just leaving. The store was not very busy. I think they need more training and structure at that store. All The other Visionworks I’ve gone to I have always had a pleased experience.

Ive been going to this location for the past 10 years. Never again! I purchased 2 Kate Spade frames with the buy one get one sale. Ive had frames since Ive been in kindergarten so this isnt my first rodeo. I was called when my frames were ready. I arrived to find only one pair ready with lenses so thick it looked like bottle caps. This was odd given my prescription didnt change. Long story short the lack of customer service & assertiveness of the lense tech it took more than 5 visits. I will not be back. Im very disappointed especially as Ive been a long term repeat customer.

This is the best VisionWorks I have ever been to! Great service and staff. Deseriee and Eric are the best! They provided lots of information I had not known about (e.g. how to read the glasses stickers, what frames would result in the thinnest lenses, what lenses were the best price, and advised on the most efficient cost savings). I would definitely go back and I highly recommend others to go here to get glasses!

Eyemasters is now Vision Works. Carmela runs a sales routine. She asks where you work and then says oh a lady from your work named Claudia got her glasses here. Next was the standard story that the frames you want can only take the thinner(more expensive) lenses. We started to leave and a miracle happened! The less expensive lenses will fit our frames after all.

I went in and everyone was patient with me and my three boys. We took our time, and I asked if it was possible to get the glasses in before we left on vacation in 10 days. They promised to have them done in three days, then called me and had them done in less than 6 hours! Could not be happier!

I am so disappointed in this location. My family and I have been going to this location for over 9+ years and I never had any issues, the selection was great, prices were reasonable, customer service was AMAZING. However, about 2 years ago when the store manager Anita left for a higher position within the company this place made a turn for the worst. Now, this is the type of service Im getting: my new glasses are given to me with broken lense, I get bounced around from person to person and non of them know what going on, the new manager is terrible and I get yelled at from her for getting upset for them loosing my glasses. They were supposed to be done in an hour and its 3 days later and they cannot find my glasses in the store. Lmaoooo. I have expressed to them I dont have any other glasses and the manager said to me, we will look for them and call you when we find them. That would have never happen if Anita was still there.So, Im done with this place, this was the last pair of glasses my family gets from eyemasters. You have lost my 9+ years of patronage. And, I dont even want to give them 1-star.

Always friendly staff. If you have bought glasses from they will gladly tighten frame screws and make sure frames arent bent so the fit properly, anytime at no cost.Be aware that their 2 for one price on glasses is exactly that. Two sets if glasses for the price of one, frames not included. Not false advertising technically. The ad states glasses, not gkassez and frsmes. A lityle shady if you ask me. Even uf you opt to by one pair, prices are reasonable. Yes, Walmart is cheaper but much of a hassle. Lenses are done in Dallas. Takes upt to 2 weeks to get glasses. If they come back incorrect, 2 more weeks to fix them, back to Dallas they go. At Vision Works you get glssez in a couple of hours, unless out of stock on lens you need, but that has never happened to me. Overall, Vision Works is nicely priced and efficient on service.
This summer I had the pleasure of being a proud grandpa... With my 13yr old grandson & 10yr old granddaughter from Ohio. I had to get my Granddaughter Sunglasses for this brutal Texas Sun... Especially with her prescription being a speciality Lens for her eyes! Took her to the optometrist next door and we went to West Texas to see the McDonald Observatory in Ft. Davis, at the Big Bend National Park. By the time we were back after 5 days, speciality sunglasses and glasses were ready... She was so happy about the great frames she selected fit her perfectly and love the way she looked. That night Her brother and her were rough housing and he broke one of Her New glasses... She was very upset and I had to calm her down... Its alright because I can take them back in the morning and have them fixed.We went first thing in the morning and Desirée and her associate joked about how it was less than 24 hours to see her again so soon! We explained what happened and left to go see a movie and afterwards they were good as New.Shes just like Her Grandpa... Dropping, breaking, stepping, losing, misplacing my glasses all the time.Ive been going to Visionworks at 281&1604 for years for my prescription glasses... Even if Im an Air Force veteran... VA glasses just dont go with my style... And Desirée has proven to be a Loyal Crew Member of Vision works. Im a person who sometimes gets demanding because service has declined in quality in all fields for Customer Care and Service!Desirée took Care of my granddaughters sunglasses and glasses and proved to Me she really cares about her Customers!I will be returning soon to fill another prescription very soon.
If I could give this place less than one star I would.I came in their store yesterday to ask if my glasses could be repaired, all the sales consultants were working with people but I just wanted to inquire at the customer service desk if I could have them repaired, a young lady greeted me rudely and told me to sit down someone would speak to me later, I sat for more than 10 minutes, another older gentleman walked in and left his glasses to be repaired, and she spoke to him and waited on him right away, leaving me to still sit there, I finally told her I would come back when someone was able to speak to me, then sales consultant told me they could not fix my kind of glasses and I would have to have a doctors exam, I told her that was fine, and then proceeded to give me prices without insurance, she assumed I had no insurance she never asked me if I had insurance or not.Dont waste your time coming here.
So my husband broke his glasses and couldnt Make it to an optometrist since he gets out of work so late.My usual eye doctor wouldnt help us since his prescription is expired and they had nothing available for him to come in after work and get his eyes checked. So he was stuck without glasses.Luckily, Visionworks worked with us and got us his glasses by the next day.Thanks guys!
I just walked in and showed the folks my broken glasses. We were on our way to a ComiCon, and I wasnt going to be able to see anything without my glasses. Visionworks didnt ask me for any insurance or any info at all! With a smile, they fixed the broken wire under the lenses, and in less than half an hour! For Free!!Thanks Visionworks!!!!🤓

Piss poor service. Put wrong prescription in one lense and never fixed it right. They recut a lense that never fit right in the frame and refused to fix it after several attempts including talking to the manager. They basically want me to accept a gap between the frame and lense and lense just falls out anyway. Waste of money. Need to find a good shop to take my business to so I quit wasting money

The lab that orders are sent to always make mistakes. Lenses come too thick, are not cut right, etc. Im tired of going back and asking them to fix my order. There goes $400. Word of advice, go somewhere else. Save yourself the trouble.
