What a wonderful store for people who like to sew and quilt. Tons of beautiful cottons for quilting. Lots of fabulous machines for those who want to start sewing or trade up. Lots of classes online and in person to teach you basic or new techniques. And the people who work here are helpful, polite and caring. ALLBRANDS is a big help to the Sewing and quilters of San Antonio!

I had THE BEST experience purchasing a new sewing machine. As soon as I walked in the door I was greeted by Krista. I explained my needs and she was so knowledgeable about the machines and helped me pick out the perfect one. The other ladies were all super sweet and helpful and so excited to have a new customer. The store also has a beautiful selection of fabrics as well. I look forward to doing business with them in the future.

I received excellent customer service. I called in regards to a warranty repair on my machine and was told it would take 2 weeks. This estimate was right on the money! The ladies were fantastic and helped entertain my very active toddlers so I could focus on the business of leaving the machine. Upon arrival to pick up my machine, one of the workers saw me struggling to get myself and the kids inside and came out to help. She even carried the machine to my car so I could wrangle the kids. I will 100% be coming back! Highly recommend!

Love love love this store!! The ladies there are super friendly and helpful! I’m not sure why there are reviews of their customer service not being great. *shrugs* but they were super helpful, answered all of my questions, and really I couldn’t have asked for better service. They even helped me load my new sewing machine into the car! The store itself has a great selection of fabric. And all the supplies you could need for any project!

A friend and I both bought machines from Giselle and Tammi. From the very first phone call to my entering their uber safe, health conscience store, we were treated with respect, kindness and extreme professionalism. We have been thrilled with our purchase and even though we are missing a few things that have not arrived in freight, we are called or emailed each week for an update. In this time of freight and product problems, we understand and are so happy they dont just shut the door on us once we made a very large purchase. Thank you so much for caring about us when sometimes all we get is money taken and done with from many places, you are a bright and shining star in our lives. We are excited and anxiously awaiting our items and future dealing with these two fine women! God Bless! Pamela Graham

They were extremely knowledgeable and patient with a novice seamstress. The store was clean, they were helpful, not pushy with sales at all. Oh, and with COVID-19 they are taking temperatures and controlling access to the establishment. I will be returning, they have a huge assortment of fabrics.

Strict Covid-10 precautions in place. Thumbs up for that! Guy who trouble shoots/repairs machines was somewhat aloof. I get it, they want to repair/clean the machine. Its probably the most profitable part of their business. If thats the case they should hire more technicians because they are quoting 3-4 weeks on repairs.

Store has a wide variety of machines and Beautiful fabrics. BUT their customer service needs a tune up big time. Several months ago they were to order a small part to repair my old Bernina machine. I have checked back with them 3 times and I am still waiting to get the part. Even the repair technician told me the part would be ordered. I could have ordered this on line and received it within a week but thought that supporting local business was the way to go... obviously NOT for this store. Fortunately I have discovered that other stores in San Antonio offer repair, service, and replacement parts, for Bernina machines.

I love this store! The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about the machines. But what makes Creative Sewing stand out is the service after the sale. They offer free classes and expert advice on accessories and how to use them. I am looking to purchase a serger and I will definitely go there first. Plus the fabric selection is incredible.

Just when you thought the service couldnt get worse than when this store was privately owned... Ive officially made my last visit to this store. The greetings and offers of assistance are robotic when they exist. I made my selection and took it to the register where the cashier had stepped away to stock. I understand this, however a cotton ball stuffed in one ear and an ear bud in the other is not okay. I waited at the cash wrap for over a minute. When she did come to the register she asked me how much my items cost. I didnt know, there was no sign. She called the office to ask, got the answer, then the person on the phone proceeded to ask her a scheduling question and they carried on a conversation as if I werent waiting to leave. I was so irritated I nearly left without my fabric. I believe in spending locally and supporting small business but Id rather not buy fabric than spend any more money at this store.

The authorized sewing machine repair warranty. There is a fee to have your machine checked out. Once it was checked, They kept the money. The shop says that the needle that I replaced a broken one with was a basting needle (It came with supplies in the new machine kit..as a matter of fact they were the only needles supplied for free). Why would a company supply basting needles with a new machine unless it is a scam to give perks to the authorized dealer in order to keep them on hand at no charge to the Brothers company. what a waste...First the repair person says Ive never seen anything like it . Its too short to make contact with the bobbin thread. (the needle). then he calls back and says my coworker and I have identified it as a basting needle)) then once I get the machine and ask for the needle he says oh, I taped it in a bag to the machine like I always do. is that some crap or what? Creative Sewing Center, 11777 West Avenue, San Antonio TX. and Brothers should be convicted of Fraud. Im replacing all 3 machines I purchased for my daughters and myself with singers!

I am not sure if the new owners expect its employees to be honest, but three years ago this was not the case. I took my very first sewing machine in for repairs. The repairman either was desperate to make a sell or did not have the right kind of experience he was supposed to have. He told that the part was too expensive to replace and I should buy a new sewing machine from Creative Sewing. I believed the repairman until I took my machine to another company here in San Antonio three years later. My machine ONLY needed to be serviced and it runs perfectly. My advice to the new owners is hire and train employees to have better customer service and to not lie to their customers to make a simple buck!

I went to Gromes Sewing Shop (theyre amazing!) for a problem with my computerized sewing machine and found out I had an unusual gear broken that could only be ordered by a Brother dealer, and so I brought my machine to Creative Sewing Center since they have that service available. The machine had been fully serviced and cleaned within the last 6 months or so, and I had a piece of the specific gear that needed to be replaced in a plastic bag. I explained that the machine had already been cleaned (by Sierra Sewing) and investigated (by Gromes) and I just needed that one gear ordered and replaced by the Brother Dealer serviceman.I was told that they would not replace the gear or even give me an estimate of the gear repair unless I paid $200 up front for their serviceman to clean it (the gear replacement - whatever it wouldve cost, since they refused to give me even a ballpark estimate - would be in addition to the $200 service fee). They wouldnt even receive the machine to give me an estimate of the gear/installation cost without me paying $200 up front, citing we cant guarantee anyone elses cleaning job and people have failed in the past to pick up their machines because the repair cost was too great [causing us to lose money]. This obviously ignores the customer’s problem of getting $200 deep into a repair (for an unnecessary service in my case, since my machine has been cleaned already) without knowing if they can afford the rest of the repair. The manager told me that if - AFTER I paid the flat $200 to leave my machine to be cleaned and evaluated for the estimate - I didnt want to proceed with the new gear/installation because of its cost (whatever it would’ve been), that I could apply the $200 I paid to the cost of a new machine at THEIR shop. My machine is about a $700 machine, so of course paying $200 for an unnecessary cleaning to then get an estimate for a repair I didnt know if I could afford and then being offered a straight line for buying an expensive new machine at their shop if it wasnt logical to pay to repair it...it didnt seem right. They also refused to simply order the gear for me for a fee so that I could get it installed elsewhere.Of course it would be easy enough to simply call customers with an estimate of the cost of repairs and charge a reasonable diagnostics fee if the customer wasnt able to pay for the repairs (which is what most shops do), but instead this shop has chosen to charge an exorbitant one-size fits all fee to protect itself at the expense of its customers (especially in my case, since - had I paid the fee and dropped my machine off - they wouldnt have had to do much of a cleaning since it was recently cleaned, but wouldve been paid for a full cleaning).I left very frustrated (and feeling humiliated by the manner with which I was treated) with this business that is obviously geared towards self-serving interests/protection at the expense of its customers, both in its policy and manner.Mutual respect – appreciation by the customer for the skilled service rendered and appreciation by the company for the business of paying customers – is my ideal experience, but I just didn’t find it here at Creative Sewing. I ended up driving to Round Rock, TX to get my machine repaired at a Austin Sewing Machines. They were great and well worth the drive.

Quilters are usually a welcoming breed, however my several experiences with this particular shop have prompted me to write this review in hopes that it will either a) inspire much needed change or b) prevent others from losing much more than time and energy from stopping at this store. I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt, we can all have a bad day. However, I have come to understand that customer service is not only nonexistent in this establishment, but the consumer is met with unprofessionalism and incompetence, which in the end cost me approx. 80.00 USD in equipment that cannot be exchanged or returned. Yes, the store policies are firmly affixed to the counter top, however the particular piece of equipment was given to me for purchase following an employee looking up the model number and informing me that this was what I needed for my machine. Again, we all make mistakes, but a manager who cares about their consumer base should be willing to stand behind their employees and do the right thing in regard to their customers. Every time I have entered the store, employees have begrudgingly assisted me only after I have sought help. Having a wonderful selection of fabrics and machines is not enough to inspire me to be treated so poorly and disrespectfully when San Antonio holds a myriad of other quilt shops where I will be more than happy to spend my resources! Shame on you Creative Sewing Center!
