Definitely my favorite place to get authentic Indian food. If you are new to the food I would definitely go for their buffet so you can get a variety and find out what you like. Good service from the staff and very attentive to the customers needs. They always answer all my questions on any dish. I go there at least every week. Their Naan bread is the best, just as good as my Grandmother made.
Wonderful choices in buffet with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian fares. Good variety of hot pakoras. The fresh hot naan served directly at the table is a revelation in itself. The Chicken Tikka masala was delicious and the Saag Paneer was finger-licking good. But my must-haves here are the simple but absolutely delicious Samosas and chutneys, Sweet Lassi and Gulab jamuns.
A friend recommended this restaurant and said she and her family have enjoyed the food and service here for years. I went yesterday and agree with her positive raves. The food was fresh and delicious. They had a buffet during the lunch hour and it was a perfect opportunity to try a little bit of everything.
Wow! If you don’t find something on the lunch buffet you like, you don’t like Indian food. For a buffet, everything was excellent. They bring fresh nan to each table. As you walk in the refreshing scent of, I think sandalwood, incense is present.Service is excellent as are the real plates, metal silverware, and real cloth napkins. I always eat way too much here, just can not help it, the food is that good.If I had any complaint it would be the Tandor Chicken, it was still very good, but for some reason it was not of the same high quality of the rest of the buffet. Might be just me? All this food for less than $12, quite a deal for lunch. This restaurant rates 5 out of 5 to me. I feel it’s the best I’m San Antonio . Well done!
The worst food we have ever had. Chicken or Goat biryani or atleast what they say it is, IT IS NOT. No taste, No flavor, the meat tastes like it has not been properly cooked. 👎
Awesome Indian food buffet for a good price. Very flavorful dishes, and many different dishes to choose from. They have more options than Ive seen at other places. Love their Tandoori Chicken especially for the fact they have the smaller pieces without bone. Definitely suggest checking this place out if youre looking for some delicious all you can eat Indian food.
Been going here for many years. The staff is not very friendly. Love the food, but I am tired of how unfriendly the service is. You never get refills on water or tea. They never come check on you after they bring you your naan. The staff always looks miserable and defeated.
They offer a buffet with assorted meat and vegetarian dishes. Delicious food! Well be back.
Nice buffet option. Great service.
Food is delicious! Service is great, friendly and family oriented! It definitely is the best Indian restaurant I’ve come across in San Antonio.
This place is no less of 5 stars. I dont think I had a single bad dish. My favorites were the dal, pakora, garlic naan, and eggplant thing a gig..Last, but not least...the goat curry. Listen, pair this with the garlic naan and it will change your life. Solid buffet and super authentic. I even liked that they didnt over salt the items. Anyone of these dishes are worth the price of the buffet. Items are constantly being refreshed with plenty of clean and peaceful space. Awesome job Taj Palace!! I highly recommend you try this restaurant. I definitely will be back.
Excellent buffet. Quiet clean with great service.
Buffet is good but resist that temptation. Go for menu items. We liked the family platters.
Buffet was really good. Just really wish it was spicier.
The food was great. I love this buffet but sadly seen lots of customers with no mask. Make me uneasy. We leaved as soon as possible as customers where talking while selecting the buffet. To me that was no good.
Dedicated vegan menu. My dish was spiced as requested and they didnt skimp at all on the tofu. It made several meals. Fresh, fluffy samosas. A great find.
Awesome Chicken Tikka Masala & Chicken Korma. I always get it medium spicy with a side of either garlic naan or the onion naan.
Super yummy! Fair prices. Wish we had known this gem was here earlier!
Food was great we went early so they didnt have alot out, but the naan was amazing.
Best Indian food I’ve ever aight, hands down! Not overwhelming curry and every dish is amazing in its own way. Good job guys!!
We had ordered Chicken Tandoori and Chicken Biryani. They came in large portion size. Chicken Tandoori tasted really good - smoky flavor, didnt have that fake red color and Biryani was very good too - bite size chicken pieces rather than a couple of big pieces
The buffet was great. Everything was tasty and vegan foods were clearly labeled.
Very friendly staff! You can tell that the owners and employees really love what they do as they are always so friendly and welcoming to their customers. The food is very delicious; I love their mango lassi! The location is also very convenient for those living in stone oak.
Soooo delicious every time! The food is so flavorful! They have a lunch buffet so you can try a variety of things if youre not sure what to get. I guarantee you will love it!
This Indian buffet has amazing selections and a very relaxed, chill vibe. My wife and I have been coming here for eight years and weve never been disappointed.
Terrible experience!! We ordered 1 Garlic Naan and 1 Karahi Paneer. There was no garlic on the naan. The gravy in Karahi Paneer was like water. It was not properly cooked. We paid $20 for nothing. They didn’t even offer us some water. When we asked for water, they just gave us one glass of water. We were 3, so it is common sense that you should give 3 glasses of water, instead of just 1. Their service was also terrible. Definitely not recommend going to this restaurant.
Loved the lunch buffet, so much to offer!Thank you!
Non vegetarian dishes were decent. The vegetarian dishes especially the curry pokoda and bhindi were the highlight!!
This is my all time favorite place to go for Indian food. The atmosphere is always very calm and enjoyable and I have yet to be even a little disappointed with the food or service. Very highly recommend!!
Great tasting food and large selection, our favorite Indian restaurant to date. Nice environment as well.
My favorite is Meatball Curry 😊 Delicious !
This is a wonderful Indian restaurant with amazing and fresh food. The various types of curry and Indian food are so good. And the naans were fluffy, warm, and the best that I couldnt stop eating it. The vegetable rice was also good. And there are also other Indian desserts that were flavorful and delicious. The mango flavored pudding(I think) was my favorite of the desserts. The interior design was culturally artistic. And the owners/workers are very nice and kind. Im so glad I recommended this place for my family dinner. I definitely will go here again!
Went there for the weekend dinner buffet the food was excellent freshly prepared and tasted delicious much variety on the buffet selections, the curry goat was delicious. Very authentic indian cuisine .
Enjoyed the lunch buffet. Curried goat was sooo tastey! And the fresh naan was to die for.
Some of the best Indian food that Ive had. Keep up the great work guys!
This is a consistently good Indian buffet served with a smile. They do have an a la carte menu I have never ordered from but have seen people do and it seems delicious. The buffet menu is always the same which, to me, it is a good thing because I know what Im getting. I have tried other Indian restaurants and so far, this is the best buffet. Give it a try, theres something for every taste.. really good food anyone can enjoy.
Buffet style. Nice variety of meats, veggies, desserts. Some of the BEST naan Ive ever had! Dining room is large & clean. Location is really cute. Awesome place.
Delicious authentic Indian food! We are so happy to have found this restaurant. The food is clean, exceptionally tasty, and cozily homemade. Service was wonderful as well. Beware, when you order a spicy dish it will be legitimately spicy.
Would not go again. The buffet selection was minimal and wasnt great for the price.
5 of us ate here and the food was absolutely fantastic. Popadoms, appetizers, mains, nan breads, beers and soft drinks all for $150. For what we got we’ll worth the money.A really wide selection ordered between the 5 of us. Food vary tasty, great portion sizes and the service was very good.
There food is fantastic and the service is superb, especially the way they adapted during this pandemic. They now serve you when you come up to the buffet to reduce contamination and have social distance seating, which is a plus for me. The only downside to this place is the sodas are per can, but honestly order one of there delicious refillable teas and you wont even miss it. The fresh bread with herbs and oil is more then enough to make you want to return.
Love love love the chicken tiki masala with butter chicken and rice... this is our go-to for Indian food. The medium is the perfect amount of spicy: dont have to drink a gallon of milk to get rid of the burning tongue lol
Great food, great service! You should try mango lassi.
Weve been going here since they opened usually on Sundays after church. We always get great service. Since Covid they now serve you at the buffet. You just tell the server what you want. Tables are spaced out and the place is clean.
The food is really delicious!
Normally i would have posted a pic but food looked so good i couldnt stop. fast and courteous service. the bill was fair. menu is like a cafe in boston i liked.
Super yummy food, quaint place. We got a large order of six dishes to go. Spicy and flavorful! Just how I like it. We got lots of saag, chicken saag, paneer saag, vegan saag, and then an okra dish, a tofu mattar, another chicken dish, and lentils. Only thing that bothered me was they didnt label the dishes, something I am used to with large orders. Half were vegan and they put them in a separate bag, so we figured it out anyway and it turned out fine. But definitely would have preferred a side comment or note, the vegan dishes are here or just label them.
Loved the royal dinner.
I typically love this place, but this delivery was a bust. The food was decent, but I found a wad of hair in my second container of rice. Thank God Id eaten from the first container. Guess I wont be ordering from here again.
The foods delicious the place is clean the people are very nice if youre going San Antonio to get your passport or your government PIV done its just a block away do yourself a favor go get some
So I love this place and I am happy it survived covid. You can still do the buffet! They serve you, with mask and gloves. Brilliant!!
Best Indian food in San Antonio!
Love the Ragan Josh and chicken curry
Great selection of tasty foods on the buffet and dont miss out on the chai tea its very nice. l have been coming for years and am thankful they are close.
I enjoy finding local places with vegetarian or vegan options. Taj Palace was great food options and everything tasted great. Highly recommended
Nice atmosphere and comfortable. Buffet was well stocked with plenty of options. My personal opinion was the food was a bit bland and every dish had a similar flavor. But perhaps that’s just me. Worth a try and decide for yourself.
Best Indian food in our area, never disappointed!
I love the food here!
Great service, great ambiance, awesome location, very good interior decor. But food was hit or miss. I went for dinner buffet something like kadhi or raita were out of this world and something like pakora and samosas were not only bad but served cold. I also ordered shahi paneer from ala carte menu and that was pretty good as well.
Providing a buffet and following covid guidelines is commendable. Some of the items in the menu were good but rest all were average. Could have included some more tiffen varities too.
Food is good but eat only Chinese and Himalayan food .North Indian food is not that good.
Adequate but this cafeteria style does not endear one to buffet style eating since you have to wait for them to serve you. Nan was more like a slice of pizza with no topping. Chicken curry was outstanding.
Oh my goodness! An amazing buffet, their samosas and lentil soup?? Killer! The restaurant itself is very pretty and very red.Very vegan friendly buffet, more than half the dishes being vegan or vegetarian.I totally recommend this joint !
This is probably the best Indian food Ive ever eaten and Ive eaten all over the country
Worst veg biryani I have ever had
Really good and flavorful food.
Excellent food, gentleman quickly brought out my order promptly after pulling up curbside. Had enough leftovers for lunch the next day.
Average food with poor service.
I like it here, excellent food & service. Ambience reminds me of Colorado Springs area.
Best place to get Indian food. The buffet is fresh and good.
I’m obsessed with this place; I order the lamb or chicken biryani almost every week to go, and I think the lunch buffet is delicious, but I’ve only had that once and I’ve never dined in for dinner. If you order something off the menu and ask for it to be spicy, it’s genuinely spicy, unlike other places where a spicy is about as spicy as a bell pepper. Now I will say, this isn’t the best Indian food I’ve ever had in my life, but it is, by far, the best Indian food in San Antonio and all around amazing. Their staff is also very friendly, unlike another popular Indian hot spot near the medical center.
Great buffet. Its better earlier in the day. Family place. We have never needed to order off the menu. Very nice service. Family owned and they remember their customers and that makes for a nice, welcoming experience. A good selection of about 12 entrees plus sides and 3 desserts on the buffet.
One of the best restaurants around San Antonio for Indian cuisine. I had lunch buffet and had an amazing experience. Friendly stuff, good service, delicious food with substantial variety. Highly recommend this restaurant.
$13.00 for the buffet which isnt bad, only I expect more than 10 options, all very similar ( and what my son described as a generally canned ravioli taste). The rice pudding, sadly, tasted something like Pledge and was more like rice soup. Not many people there--maybe 10 including us and I see why!!
Visited during lunch on a Thursday. There were about 5 other diners there at the time. This place has a daily buffet. Although I ordered from the menu, I did check out the buffet and it had a good variety. The menu food was good. Not the best Indian food Ive ever had but definitely the best Ive had in San Antonio. Waitress was very kind and polite. I would go again.
I absolutely love this place. Have been been a fan for many years. A must go for delicious Indian food. You can order off the menu or get the buffet both are very very delicious. Stop in
Gravy too watery.
Super appetizing. i will be bringing family next time.
