Great service and great prices for work only needed. Does good work and checks on work needed. Get approval before work started.
Fixed then it rained was able to use. Great day, grass cthe auto pull not working, was able to cut half my yard when just died, tried to restart.
Looking for parts on plan’s DIY, got greater attention than expected; especially, when I was called back to let me know my parts were in.
Just stopped in looking for some fuel line because someone decided to use vacuum line instead. Service was awesome. Got all the help I need and even some added info about a fuel stabilizer that was very helpful. Pretty awesome place. Much appreciated.
When I called asking for a part for my 21 craftsman mower with a Briggs and Stratton. This was the 3rd place I checked and they had what I needed, waiting on the counter for me. Very decent price excellent customer service.Butch.
On 19 Mar 20, I picked up my mower from A-1 Fixit after paying $108.64 for a complete tune up. At the end of April, I needed to use the mower for the first time. It would run for a while and then quit so I took it back in. When I picked it up on 4 May 20, there was a $33.05 charge. An older man, presumably the owner, told me that there was water in the carburetor that they did not put it there and the carburetor had to be cleaned. I was running late for an appointment so I could not stay and discuss this obviously made up story. There was no water in the gas I bought. The specific gravity of water is greater than gas so if water were to get mixed in somehow, the water would go to the bottom of the container. Since gas pours out of a can from the top, there is no way we put water into the mower’s tank even if the gas can did have water in it. I have since used all the gas in the can with not a speck of water showing up. The obvious conclusion is there was no water involved and whoever worked on the mower invented it to justify another service charge. I was also charged for a gas line replacement. Whoever did the work left the old gas line lying on the mower. I examined it and it was partially plugged up and that is what caused the running problem after the tune up. That gas line should have been replaced when I got the complete tune up. Instead I got charged $33.05 for a $1 gas line and was lied to about the water in the tank. I sent them a written complaint and they did not reply. This place has a big integrity problem--do not trust them to be fair with you.
Awesome customer service always willing to help the customer and willing to even send your business somewhere else if its better for yourself awesome awesome place honest business
Friendly staff and reasonable prices. I had my Echo 400, chainsaw sharpened and Echo 370, tune-up done to it. Great workmanship and knowledgeable technician. This is my second year going back and will continue to bring my chainsaws for repair as necessary.
These are not pleasant people. Find someplace else to go. They don’t do warranty work like they advertise either
One of the BEST companies I have dealt with since moving to San Antonio area, in any industry. I cant recommend this company strongly enough. Although I live more than 30 minutes away, I will continue to bring my equipment to Rick and his team. It is worth the extra drive to have an honest company with knowledgeable and very friendly people. I was having problems with both my lawn mower and weed eater. As a female, I have learned I have to be careful regarding who I trust (as I dont want to be charged for things I dont need, nor do I want to pay excessive amounts for normal repairs) Upon meeting Rick, I was put at ease. He helped me with both pieces of lawn equipment immediately. There were things he didnt even charge me . He spent the time to help me understand the problems and showed me what I could do to prevent similar problems in the future. I had no connection with this company before this meeting, but I will be a customer from now on. Without hesitation I recommend this company to my family and friends, and I wanted to come back and let others know who are taking their time to research companies not to hesitate in using this company. They are old-school honest and professional. Two very high thumbs up!
We brought in a Briggs & Stratton power washer that was only 4 months old and was told that the machine was not cost effective to repair. However, when i went to pick up the machine it was evident it had been part salvaged for their benefit. When i asked they denied/lied that those were my parts. It is unfortunate that this business does not have integrity or are honest and realize that we are working for what we have too. We do not recommend and will not be returning to this company.
The lawnmower they fixed ran once more before it died again. I was moving and didnt have time to bring it back to them for more troubleshooting. It may have been something simple, but I would have hoped to have it done the first time around.
Called to get my regular push lawn mower serviced. You know, blade sharpened, oil changed maybe, filter change. 35 dollars- great price - 3 weeks lead time. What? So i asked if they could call me when they were ready and she said no. She said i had to drop it off. I suppose it’s an extra service they do but this is not service to me. I can drop it off when ever you are ready. Doesn’t seem right. Grass grows faster than their service.
Picked up my Snapper riding mower today. I am very happy with the workmanship and the professional dealings with the crew and owner. My Snapper riding mower works like it did when it was new nine years ago. Thank you Rick!
It took 4 weeks before they called me about my lawn mower, and thats after i called to inquire about it the week before. So after having it for an entire month, they still couldnt fix it and want to charge $20 for diagnostic and storage. Two things i was never informed of during my first interaction. This is my second repair, the first one was a couple months ago and its broke again already. Horrible customer service and the repairs are mediocre, at best.
The Owners are very helpful and extremely nice and fair. I had a very positive experience. Be sure and check them out for your small engine repairs
Friendly and very helpful! They will help you in everything🤠👍.
Good customer service, friendly owners and staff. Repairs are done in a timely manner. Highly recommend..
Excellent service, and they do very good work...
I went there sometime ago and they fix my weed wacker and did a good job!
Took an old weed eater down that needed some adjustments on took me right in 5 mins later running like new. very good service and pleasant people. would recommend to friends
Great people
Called them to fix a ryobi weed wacker, they dont service ryobi because they cant get parts for ryobi she said.
I brought my mower in for a spring special (~$35). I received a call from this business stating that my mower wasnt working and needed $180+ in repairs. Since my mower was running when I took it in, I knew something was amiss. Went back and took possession of my mower (had to pay a $16 estimate fee). Took my mower home. Put gas in it and proceeded to mow my yard.Draw your own conclusion.
Great people, good service. Honest and dependable. Been doing business with Rick for 25 years. Highly recommend.
I stopped in and described my lawnmower problem. Owner made a suggestion, guess of what the problem was. He was right!!! Hands on tutorial for me. Entire Staff Knowledgeable and extremely friendly and inviting. Highly recommended shop.
They couldnt get the weedeater to work. Which costed me $30.00 plus tax. I found out they never took the carburetor apart. I search youtube and took it apart and fixed it. Its running fine. I dont know his name, but should be honest to his customer. Easy money I call it.
I was in and out. The young lady at the counter had the part I needed in 10 seconds. Thank you again!
Lots of small engine parts, good service and knowledgeable people
DO NOT USE THIS SHOP!!!! I took my lawn mower in because it would not start and had to wait almost 2 months to get it looked at. When I did get it back they told me there was nothing that they could do to fix it. I took it to another shop on Austin Hyw and all it needed was a small tune up. I Will never used or recommend this shop to anyone.
Good customer service, quality repair & fair prices. It doesnt get much better than that.
Great people here. Knowledgable, very, very good help for the person making their own repairs. Well stocked inventory on parts.
Do great work on lawn mower and are friendly.
Very helpful, up front and very fair. Take all your small engine repairs here.
Good service and reasonable prices
Very satisfied very affordable prices thank you very much to employees and to mr. Rick you will have my business again will pass the word thank you very much again
THIS is by far, the BEST shop for purchases and/ or repair of lawn equipment. Weve used them for years and purchased ALL our equipment from Laurie and Rick-owners.
Always a great place to do business.
I have nothing but good to say about these folks. I found them because they were listed as distributors/service center for a brand of weed eater that I had purchased. They fixed it after 2 other shops have failed dismally. At the time, we llived fairly close to their shop but later moved to Austin, 90 miles away. After trying 5 other small engine repair shops, I decided to just bring everything back to Rick at the Fixit shop because it was only one trip to the shop. Repairs were done right the first time. I have bought every small engine tool that I have been able to buy from Rick for about 8 years now. I get good advice from knowledgeable people. Their prices dont and cant match the big box store price, but there not that far off. I wish more places were operated with the concern, integrity and competence that you can find at A-1 Fixit Shop.
Best service in a long time and quick
Great place for your lawn care equipment sales and service.
Always a job well done with several mowers. They have a back log to fix so it will take some time.
Outstanding service
Very good customer service
Good customer service. Friendly.
Didnt have everything i needed but they did recommend a place to find what i was looking for
Hard to find a shop like this, excellent knowledge, professional staff. Have parts on-site to fix most common break down failures.
Nice people, Good People, Fair Prices.
Called for a quote and the dick behind the phone treated me like I was a idiot. Hope he gets fired.
Horrible customer service. Rick was just plain rude.
Courtesy professional estimates and lawn mower annual service and repairs done for years here
