This was the best experience I have ever had at an oil change business. I Was greeted and taken care immediately by the owner. He was very pleasant and actually started the service on my vehicle. Did not try to push any repairs or services on me that I did not want or need. I will definitely recommend them and take my vehicle back to them for service.

I took an old car here to get the suspension checked out because I was hearing some concerning noises. The technician found out that the problem was only a loose antenna and he repaired it free of charge. Gave me peace of mind and reassured me that there was no issues with my suspension.

I have been taking my cars here since 2003 (I think). I do not go anywhere else. Doug and his team are amazingly knowledgeable and efficient. It is difficult to find an auto shop where you can trust the evaluation of your vehicle. They dont try to upsell you, or try to do repairs that are unnecessary. They will prioritize for you the things that are necessary. There is never pressure!Thank you for being my go-to shop all these years!

Great customer service. Needed my AC checked out and they were super busy but they still got me car right in and checked the AC topped off my low freon and got me on my way super fast super professional!

I only take my cars to this midas when Im in San Antonio. My mother in laws car needed work so we towed the car here using AAA. Midas manager was very helpful and got the car in and repaired fast. I know they do great work and its warranted.

Quick in and out thankfully because I had the tiniest of problems on a brake pad, but they took care of it and it was on the house. Now dont expect free services, but it was nice of them to take care of a small problem without charging me hundreds.

This is the second vehicle I had brought in for work. Both times the actual amount I paid was less than the initial quote. The staff is friendly and do not try to sell you something you don’t need. I will definitely be back.

Honest efficient folks at this location. They got me in conveniently, got right to work on my vehicle, accurately assessed the problem, then took the time to explain the problem to me in detail using a printed diagram of the parts involved. They didnt try to add on anything unnecessary and the cost was standard for the repair. Apparently my wheel was in pretty bad shape but I didnt realize it. I initially asked if I could bring the car back In to be worked on the following morning. But they told me they couldnt let me drive the car off in that state; it would be too dangerous. Let me tell you- I believed him. Im not sure if he was the store owner, but this man (whose name I regrettably have forgotten by now) is the kind of established, responsible, good citizen type person that you better believe what he tells you. There were no gimmicks, no shady business at this shop. I drove off feeling very safe in my well-repaired vehicle knowing that in the case of any future vehicle repairs, there was no question of where I would be taking my vehicle. Hopefully this review wont cause that location to become much more busy;). But if it helps anybody to not get gypped by a less reputable shop, it will be worth it.

Now that my BMW is 20 years old, Doug and Kelly see it as much as I do! Ive been a customer here for 15 years and I love the family owned, friendly atmosphere. Amazing shop & great employees! Good mechanics are hard to find and great ones like these guys... damn near impossible. Needed to have mufflers tips that are welded straightened out after another shop put the exhaust back on crooked. Went to multiple shops around town looking for help at a reasonable price and Andy at Midas was all the help I needed. He had the issue fixed properly and in no time at all. Everyone I dealt with at the shop was super respectful, friendly, kind, and professional. I will definitely be coming back here again in the future.

Doug Fetzer and the team did a great job fixing some blower and control modules for the air handling unit on our Ford Expedition. Had to bring it back for a second look, which ended up being a different issue, but they took it right in. They also explained the issue very well.

I called to make an appt but was told I could bring it right in and wait for it as I only needed an oil change and tire rotation. I arrive 10 minutes later and the car was taken right in. Work was completed in about 15 minutes. I sat in the waiting room for another HOUR because no one told anyone that it was done. I wanted to strangle someone but what can you do. Oh yeah, I can go back to the place I usually go to. Done.

Great experience! Brought my truck in because I thought I needed new brake pads.. they checked it out and to my surprise my brakes were good! Come to find out, they do a free inspection and didnt charge me AND rotated my tires for free! I insisted i paid them for the rotation and he refused!!! GREAT customer service!! Even with the shop being full of vehicles being worked on they were able to get my work done in less than 4 hours. The reason for the amount of time to do maintenance was waiting for parts to be delivered.Again, I would highly recommend this Midas location for any type of vehicle maintenance.

The owner of this establishment, Doug, from what I gather by reading previous reviews, refused to perform an alignment on my vehicle. Understood, there are plenty of places to get an alignment in San Antonio. Unbeknownst to him, I’ve been coming to this location for many years, and Chris has always been a pleasure to work with. I took my vehicle in initially to have the front struts replaced and was quoted an amount that was so atrocious, I opted to have the work done elsewhere. As Doug put it, “I didn’t put $100,000 worth of equipment in this shop to perform another mechanics work.” Not a problem, either you want to make money or you don’t. If not, then don’t whine about your upgrading costs, as the consumer generally does not sympathize. This is a business so run it like one. If the owner focused more on customer satisfaction and retention it would be a moot point. Try providing fair pricing, perhaps, as the markup on the parts I received is still good for a laugh. Not all consumers are ill informed. I only returned to Midas due to prior positive experiences with the staff, but the owner has ruined that goodwill. There are some really great individuals that work there, but understandably I will not be a returning customer. I ended up taking my vehicle to NTB and was in and out in under an hour. Good luck recouping that investment with your shoddy service.

Dropped off car Friday afternoon for an oil change to pick up Saturday at 10am. Get there and they hadnt started yet. Started and they discovered they didnt have any synthetic in stock and had to get some. Eventually all sorted out, but they seem to be getting so busy they cant keep track of what they are doing. Be sure to make an appointment and plan for extra time.

Friendly and good general car service and repair. We do not use them for our routine maintenance but do for extras like belt repairments and other minor repairs. They can be busy but will work with you to get your car back ASAP. The prices are good and the results are also. There was a lot to fix in my car, but the crew worked fast and theyre always so nice. My parents became friends with them over there from bringing in my car a few times. But if theres ever anything wrong with my car I know who to go to now. These guys are awesome.

Dont bother trying to schedule an appointment online. They will respond in 30 business minutes is complete BS. Ive tried to get an appointment here twice, and have gotten no response. I will take my business elsewhere.

They told me to arrive at 1pm for a wheel alignment. They took my phone number and said they would call me if anything changed. When I arrived at 1pm they said the alignment rack would be tied up all day. I dont have time to waste on this kind of customer service. The last two alignments I had here, I had to explain what their machine was telling them about the camber angle and how to proceed.

I have been looking for a fair mechanic for my whole life. Doug and his team are awesome. I did my homework before I went in there and knew exactly what I needed. They were spot on and didnt try to rip me off or sell me stuff I didnt need. Go here and never worry about your car again.

I moved from NC recently where I used Midas exclusively. I was having brake issues and went in early one afternoon to try and set up an appointment. I was told they dont take appointments and that basically I need to come in the morning and hope for the best. They may provide good service once its in the shop but not providing appointment times makes it impossible to tell. I had to find a new shop here in town after using Midas exclusively in NC for 7 years. Bummer.

I will not take my car any where else! All the guys Ive met here are very knowledgeable and helpful. Joe and Bubba have both done work on my care and I couldnt be happier with the result. On a scale of 1-3 theyre a 10. Awesome guys and an awesome shop. Its nice to see some businesses still know how to do it right.

I took my Subaru Outback to this Midas for overheating problem, they charged me $921, replaced radiator and other two parts. My daughter went to pick up the car. After 20 mins driving on the way home, the overheating warning sign lit up, then AC stopped working, then the car is full of burning smell. Next day, I called them, told them what happened. they said Bring the car back, we check it up, some other parts might need to be replace. How can I trust them again? I took the car to the dealer, the dealer told me after inspection, the part first should be replaced was not replaced. I spend another $160 with dealer, heave the car fixed. People at this Midas seems not know what they are doing. Never trust them!

Good place to get work done on a car.

They took care of an issue on a vehicle I had 4-5 years ago. My engine was dying in traffic. I thought it was something severe, but they cleaned some sort of sensor and charged me less than $50. They easily could gouged me for thousands. I keep coming back, and they keep taking care of me. An honest shop.

Once again, the folks at Midas diagnosed and repaired our vehicle on time and for a reasonable price. Always friendly and honest.

After 18 years of trust building this is the only place I take any vehicle. Doug, Chris, and the rest of the team are fair, honest, and good.

If I could give this place a zero I would . my mother took her car out here last week to get it fixed . after the car was finished, the same night it started over heating and making noise. My mother did not have any problems with her car until after she took it to Midas. They can say whatever they want to make sure they dont get in trouble but the own manager says there nothing he can do. That is b.s. on there end so if there someone we can talk to than, we need to speak with them because if someone messes up someone car, they need to fix it. Now she cant even drive it over there or anywhere for that matter. I would not trust this place. Shady workers

I had just done some at home maintenance on my truck, and just needed the job wrapped up with an alignment. Talked to an older guy at the counter, first he talked down to me as if trying to imply I know nothing of how cars work. Then he sent me away saying I dont work on any vehicles that have been worked on by owners.Rude, arrogant and clearly only wants customers who dont know much about cars so he can probably burn a hole in their pockets.My advice: STAY AWAY!!

We were on vacation and my wheelchair lift broke from hitting all the steep driveways here in san Antonio. We took it to them and Mr Lee helped us out. He welded it up so we could make it back home. On 6/2/17 went by Midas franchise owner location near Thousand Oaks after unsuccessfully reaching owner who never returned my call. While at shop wanted to do my warranty work at this location since West Ave’s Jim kept dragging our my warranty repair for over 4 months complaining he didn’t have available time. While at owners shop he appeared then I presented my Benz paperwork & he said I would have to go back to West Ave shop for warranty work then during our conversation he suddenly changed his mind & then said he wouldn’t honor their warranty. Fortunately I had set my iPhone to record the complete conversation revealing franchise owner Doug’s deceptive trade practices & told him I had been recording our conversation & he’s not an honorable businessman rejecting warranties on customers who paid them aprox $13k for Custom Brembo brakes that West ave’s Jim has confirmed brake judder they can’t seem to correct. Owner Doug said he knew I was recording then suddenly lunged towards & attacked me from behind the counter where 2 of his employees had to restrain him as I collected my paperwork & immediately left the shop to a safe area off premises & reported to the police. Police later investigated but shop owner Doug “lied” & denied event & police said his onsite video cameras are not operable & my sound recording of the attack wasn’t enough for city Atty to pursue. Called West Ave shops Jim same day attack & advised his owner attacked me while I was trying to get warranty repairs done & that initially owner said I was left to get warranty work at West Ave shop. Jim said he would call me back. It is now 1/23/18 & Midas West Ave Shop Jim hasn’t called me for warranty work. The Midas West Ave & franchise owners shop near 281/Thousand Oaks are absolutely “LIARS” & don’t honor their brake warranties & Midas Corp states since they’re franchises that Corp doesn’t care. These Midas shops are the epitome of deceptive trade practices not honoring warranties for poor brake jobs. To get brake jobs they charge excessive parts prices to say for warranty then when a warranty issue arises that they confirm is a warranty brake issue they drag out customers for extremely long periods of time then they refuse to do the warranty work as it’s too much trouble for them because they don’t know how to fix their faulty brake installs. I paid $2k more for parts bought through Midas to supposedly secure a warranty on their brake job & after 4 months of Jim’s Midas shop not knowing how to repair my brake judder they simply tell me they didn’t make any money $800 (at best) on my brake job completely insulting a customer who paid them $13k for a Brembo brake installation. Buyers Beware!!!
