I had been looking for a good pair of boots and settled on a pair I liked. A certain big box store did not have anything in my size or anything close to it. I stopped by good sports and was offered to try boots in the size up, size below and different widths in addition to my size. Customer service was excellent and was a great experience. Don’t let the size fool you, they have just about everything you need and a great selection of boots. I’ve been very impressed the times I’ve stopped by.

I was looking for a pair of Oboz Bridger boots in my size and couldnt find them anywhere. I lucked upon Good Sports Outdoor Outfitters through a Google search and lucked out again that they had my size. The boots were even on sale so I saved some money too. Shipping went out just as described, next day, and they even arrived a day earlier than promised. I prefer to spend money with fellow Texan companies, so Ill be shopping with Good Sports Outdoor Outfitters in the future. Thanks!!!

I had a fantastic experience at Good Sports today! I recognize their primary business is for skiing and out door adventures however the extremely out of the ordinary for San Antonio winter blast with temperatures in the teens for consecutive days caught me unprepared! I have heard so many great things about this family business, I wanted to check Good Sports out.From the moment I walked in, I received a complete concierges experience by Jordan. He really took the time to ask all the right questions so he understood exactly what I needed. Never did I feel I was being sold, just hospitably served! I have absolutely no taste so I was happy to put the decisions in his hands! I left there fully prepared to face the winter surge and definitely in style!!Although I dont really ski or do too many out door excursions, their selection looked absolutely amazing and premium.

Ordered a TNF jacket for my daughter at the cheapest sale price online, along with a couple of other items to get free priority USPS shipping, and received them in 2 days...2 days faster than estimated!! Friendly employees, attentive service, they helped me pick a jacket out for my dad and they even wrapped it up all nice in a box. Exceptional customer service, when you hear the word outfitter, you dont think of someone taking a personal interest in your trip or goals for that trip, but this is exactly what they do. Everything they stock here is exceptional quality so you dont have to worry about it holding up.Not sure about store warranty or support as compared to their competitors, but the products these days have a pretty good warranty in and of themselves.Shopping local is always good and this being a San Antonio spot you know your money supports your local economy.

Do you ever get tired of going to sporting goods stores and have a hard time finding help? How about excellent customer service from a friendly staff that are experts in their job? Today I was greeted right away had a sales associate within a couple of minutes helping me out as they always have. I was sharing a story with Jordan about going to a large sporting goods store down the street and trying to get my son some hiking shoes for an upcoming backpacking trip he was going on. We waited for about 30 minutes with no help from any of their staff. Told my son that we were going to Good Sports and were in and out with a great pair of hiking boots in less then 20 minutes. I found that Good Sports was offering a great cyber Monday deal on Patagonia jacket that my mother has been wanting for ages. She was so excited and ordered the jacket right away. Five days later, she received an email that they made a mistake and the jacket they sold her wasn’t actually in stock. They informed her they were refunding her money.Now, I understand having a technical glitch, although it seems especially unfortunate on cyber Monday.However, if my mother had been notified immediately of the mistake (rather than five days later), she would have been able to buy the jacket at another store offering a discount that day (Outdoor Sports was one of several stores offering this price for the jacket; I steered her toward this site because of the apparently positive reviews...). Good Sports mistake -- and the time it took to notify my mother about it -- leaves her disappointed, without a coat, and without an option to buy the coat elsewhere at a similar price.Luckily, Patagonia still makes this coat. I imagine that it will be back in stock shortly. The right thing to do is to give her the option of getting the jacket -- at the price she originally paid -- when it is back in stock. Seems pretty simple to me, but this was not offered.A computer glitch is understandable, thoughtless customer service is not.UPDATE: My mother called twice and was finally able to order the jacket in a different size. They said they would only honor the cyber Monday price if she ordered immediately, even in the wrong size. She was offered no apology.

Lovely store and helpful staff!I came here seeking some fitted hiking shoes for my strange foot size, and while Im not yet satisfied with the product (Im waiting to see if theyll be sufficiently broken in), I have nothing but nice things to say about the shop and the people there. The owner & one employee even stayed after the store closed to help me get the shoes adjusted to where they needed to be.Even if the shoes dont end up working out for me, their shop has so much cool stuff I definitely see myself coming back for more general outdoors supplies.

We tried these folks based on a referral. Our initial visit was great and since our family hunts a lot, we thought this was a great find. Unfortunately the service was short lived. We found a much cheaper price on boots we had purchased within the 7 day return policy and called to ask if they would match it. They agreed after an employee directly accessed the product online and verified it was the same product. They directed us to come by and they would refund the difference. Once we arrived it was a different story. They were condescending and said that they had wished they had gotten our number to call us and let us know they could not match it after all since the boot we purchased was wide and the one we found online was not. They offered 10%, but not the full difference which in the end if they were willing to refund 10% would have been about $20 net difference. For a family that spends thousands of dollars a year on hunting/hiking and outdoor gear that was very short sided on their part. Unfortunately our family had already spent close to $1,000 before this experience, but we will never shop their again as there are too many other great options that have the ability to comprehend and apply true customer service.

Went in for hiking boots and they were very helpful and attentive. They dont just bring you a pair and walk away for 10 minutes while you try them on. They are very particular about getting a good fit. Turns out that the person helping me is the owner of the store.I got a better fit than what I tried at a competitor and as a bonus saved about $45.

Had the unfortunate circumstance of a USPS delivery/order that went missing. Jessica from their customer service department was an absolute life saver! She is currently working to try and get reimbursement from the postal service. I still needed the shoes that went missing and she promptly reserved my shoe size from their inventory in order to ensure that I could re-order the same pair. Great customer service, would highly recommend!

So I wouldve given 5 stars if it wasnt for the pricing in this store. The man who helped me with my shoes was really helpful and knowledgeable and I thank him for that, but the Brooks Calderas I bought came out to about $140 and other places like REI and Amazon had them for $100 and below. I like giving to small businesses but theres a reason people go elsewhere. I recommend people go in and try on shoes here because they have a great selection but check amazon and other stores for a cheaper price. Maybe they should look into price matching.

I’ve gone there for 4 years in a row and every time I go there the level of service I receive is unparalleled. I’ve started to take my mother and my friends there to spread the word. The staff will work with you one on one to make sure you get the shoe that you need for the activity that you want to do. They’re there for your foot health needs and my feet, back, ankles and knee pain have greatly improved due to the proper footwear they matched me up with. Instead of sifting through all the ads and fluff for sport shoes just go here and they’ll give you the honest pros and cons for each brand and type of shoe. I’ll never buy from another place.

I was searching online for a specific model and size of shoe for over an hour before I stumbled upon Good Sports Outdoor Outfitters. Sure enough they carried what I wanted.-When I went to submit my order I could not believe the low price!!! Other websites had the same model but a size too large for me that cost nearly 40 dollars more!-Then at checkout I was to select my shipping. They shipped priority (2-3 day shipping) for free!!!! That is unreal!-VERY pleased with my experience at Good Sports

Super impressed with the staff here. I came in a few months ago just looking for a water bottle, and while they didnt have exactly what I was looking for, two staff members went above and beyond helping me find it both in their store and ultimately recommending a competitor who did have it in stock. Its a fairly small place, but they have a huge variety of products. Ill definitely be returning the next time I need sports or outdoor gear.

I was told a return policy document was included in original packaging, and maybe they do that for orders now, but in mine, it wasnt. I received ONE (not two as the gentleman on the phone insisted) piece of paper in my order that has the order information and return codes. Sounds like many online orders are taking a long time to arrive to other people, so kind of hard to have a strict return policy if you cannot ship things in a satisfactory amount of time.Called in April about the return and was told it would be accepted for 80% of original purchase price, which was fine. Went to UPS, purchased a label and shipped the package, only to have it refused and returned. I had to contact them again only to be told they wont accept it. Had they originally told me then when I called in April I wouldnt have wasted money or time on shipping it back. If you purchase something from this company and need to return it MAKE SURE you document everything you receive and the return process so you dont get ripped off.

I went in there to see what they had, I was greeted with were a small mom and pop store. In an effort to support I bought a pair of leggings where I thought the price was $32. When it came down to pay, I was not worried whay the price would be. Days later, I realized I was charged $70 minus a discount. I noticed two tags on the leggings....had I known I would have re-considered. Either this was a mistake or deceptive pricing...either way, never going back again for over priced merchandise!

I went in looking for a lid for my Yeti and when they didnt have the one I was looking for I decided to just take a look around. I walked through the entire store and every time I turned my head I could see this one employee just eyeballing me. I wasnt planning on making any trouble, but him watching me like that was extremely unsettling. I understand they need to watch out for their merchandise, but him watching my every move the way he was just put me off and I decided to leave. I found some things I wouldve bought, but because of that experience I decided not to get anything and take my money elsewhere.

This is a great place for anyone looking for outdoor and hunting gear at a higher level. Their fitter worked with me for quite some time on some Kenetrek boots as well as some Lowas, and overall, they were really attentive and helpful. They are running a full line of Sitka and Mystery Ranch gear, and its really nice to have a place to look at some of this specialized gear in person. I live in Austin and made the drive down, well worth the trip!

Buyer beware!!!Please be the judge,I order altra running shoes through Amazon, when I received the shoes. I set on the bed placed the shoes on my feet stood up and noticed the were to small, sit back down placed the shoes back in the box. Took the box to ups and sent the shoes back.After a week I was advised good sport outdoor outfitters was only refunding $60.00 or my $120.00 order, REALLY so when questioned about it they said the shoe had a scuff on the shoe, if they was a scuff on the shoe it was their when I got it. I am sure they lied. Then something wrong with the box. And that cost me $60.00 I mean for really. I would really shop around before buying anything from this store.

Poor service from Manager/Owner. Had a bad additude. Paid with an item using debit. Returned an item the same day and she didnt want to refund me cash. They had to credit my card which can take 3-5 business days. I explained how I paid debit which is just like cash. She insisted that her bank told her not to return with cash. If Im getting g bad additude from the owner then why shop here. STAY AWAY!!!!
