Terrible!!!!! You can’t reach anyone. The girl gave me a trailer and put air in the tires of the trailer. I get 55 miles into a 300 destination and the tire goes flat. Either the girl shouldn’t have rented the trailer or this entire place is mismanaged.
WHERE DO I BEGIN.... I dropped off my rental Sunday night after hours where it clearly says return. I called the next day to let them know that I forgot the contract. The person on the phone pretty much said yes we got it and everything is processed by phone.... well the person on the phone never asked me for my name, phone number or email. come to find out the rental was never checked in so i was getting charged addition fees. CHOOSE ANOTHER PLACE TO RENT FROM
Can never get access to my unit if nobodys at the office, even though its supposed to be open by 6am AND after 6pm. Thanks to this, my plans for the day have been ruined at least 3 times.
Martin Rhoades is rude and condescending. Will look for any reason to be argumentative. He’s rude to customers and his workers. I feel bad for employees and his family that has to deal with him.
The worst experience. Made reservation weeks before showed up to them not having the tow dolly just the truck. So I sat around for over a hour till finally they called another place and I had to go pick it up. And the best part they had the bigger auto transporters I said can I just upgrade to the bigger one she says those are all reserved Id need a reservation. 😂😂😂 I have one and my shits not here!! What a horrible way to start on moving day 2 hours behind. And I had a 3 year with me waiting. There was a guy there with same problem as me had reservation for cargo van he showed up bot available .smh this place sucks save your self. You been warned
Charles Monk, your spot on this Manager should be fired for the way he treats customers, he was very rude and condescending to me when I went to rent a 5X9 trailer, so much so I told him flat out that he was a very rude manager and that I was a law enforcement officer and never would treat people with such disdain. That you get respect when you give respect. He stated that I was nobody in his store and that being law enforcement, fire fighter or any first responder meant nothing to him that we all feel that we are above the law. I asked what law am I above coming in to rent a trailer? He wouldnt answer, he is obviously anti-first responder so I will be posting to all friends and family on FB and to all first responder unions and familes to boycott this business. I checked to see their reviews and saw that Im not the only one that had problems with this Manager, its too bad that U-Haul management above him dont check on reviews for their locations because they would see that this guy needs to be unemployed. His treatment of me bothered me so much that I returned the U-haul 2 days early and went and rented one from another location where I was treated with respect. This guy has the attitude of you need me more than I need You, which is wrong for business. To put it mildly he is a POS. This is the guy. If I could give a zero I would!! Go to another location RENTER BEWARE AVOID GIVING ANY BUSINESS TO THIS LOCATION!!!
I had to return a trailer half way through my trip and upgrade to a moving truck and a car transport because my little Ford ranger was struggling to pull the trailer. Technically, because this wasnt where I was supposed to return it, it was a wrong location and I couldnt return it. But couldnt figure out where I could return it. I called 1800gouhaul and got transfered 6+ times. Each employee claimed that they didnt have access to the info I needed. They couldnt make changes and didnt know why the previous person sent me to them.Each employee should be granted access to everyones order, be able to see all their info, and make changes. Everything is online these days. I should be able to contact an employee in a random state and they should be able to tell me where I can drop stuff off and make changes to my order.Each time I called to figure out drop off locations there was a 10+ minute wait.Calling 1800gouhaul again, I wanted to change my drop-off location because it wasnt the same as the storage location. The telephone line said that I could change it online. I would have preferred to do it over the phone. But after another 10-15+ min wait on the phone, I gave up. When I went online, neither my wife or I could figure out how to do it online. We asked the guys at the storage location if we could just drop it off there? They replied, oh, no. If you do that, well have to charge you double. Fruatrated, we just took it to the other location and dropped it off.Storage locations are free for the first month. Unless you dont have a round padlock. Then they charge me 10$?! I already had my own regular padlock with me, ready to go but they said, oh no, they cant be that type of lock. It has to be a round one. When I went to lock it up, my lock fit just as well as theirs did. That was a totally unnecessary move on their part.The self storage container had two tears in the roof covered in white duck tape. What if it rains hard? Duck tape wont keep the water out.When I have to move again, Im not going to use these guys.
Terrible staff. Terrible process. Terrible facilities. There are a lot of other options so, do not put yourself through the pain of dealing with these people.
The manager Martin is definitely lacking in people skills how he got that position is beyond belief. The rest of the staff that Ive dealt with are really good.
I was charged several different charges that didn’t add up and when I was asking for what the charges where? I was rudely interrupted, and yet they still couldn’t even explain to me why they where attempting to charge me so much. I’ll never use this location ever again!
Loved the service, was little wait but I was there to return and I simply returned.
You can expect better customer service in a crack house than this place. Put a surcharge on my storage unit which was their fault. 3 months in, they still havent removed that fee. The manager is either too busy or not here. If uhaul ever sees this post, you guys should really consider whom u sell yalls franchise to.

Horrible service from The manager and employee. I came in needing help and information about how to handle a trailer and what would be best. I clearly asked if they provide towing lights for behind the trailer. I was told yes they do. The guy also forgot to attach the ball hitch and almost had us drive off without it. We soon found out that the lights were not included. When I called I was told I need to be more specific next time and was told I was lying and changing up my story. All I asked was a simple question and got treated poorly .
I mean I know this is one of the most busy locations but GEESH to try to call and get through to someone is like trying to surf on rocks. The Manager be getting smart, I think the name was Martin. People already going through alot, job cuts etc and to get this treatment Sucks!!!!
Completely waisted my time. Told me they would take a look at my brake controller. I booked the appointment and showed up on time for them to tell me they dont have time and then to tell me they wont be able to look at my truck at all. The manager was incredibly rude. Wouldnt recommend to anyone.

Was notified of a time AND location change for a trailer pick up 10 MINUTES before my original pick up time. Via email.That’s just bad business, boys and girls.
You would think on a Saturday this place would have more than one person working. So many truck rentals and all we wanted to do was buy boxes. Consider additional employees or have someone dedicated to get folks taken care of with simple purchases. Next time Ill stick with getting my boxes from Amazon.
Very friendly staff and clean, well organized facility. Ive rented trucks and trailers from here and always find the equipment well maintained. Their storage facility is air conditioned and price competitive. And I especially appreciate being able to get propane at a fair price seven days a week. My favorite U-Haul place for over 20 years.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. I made a reservation three weeks in advance. When I went to pick up my rental truck, they didnt have it. They said they booked it wrong. In fact they didnt have any truck within 9 feet of the size I needed. They said they would find one for me at another store. Twenty minutes later they said they hadnt found one yet. Fortunately my girlfriend found one in just five minutes so we left. When I had the nerve to complain about their total lack of service, the heavyset guy from the next register told me they didnt care, and I had to leave or else. I could hear them laughing at me when I left. Do yourself a favor...I went to Lockaway Storage at 1604 and Shaenfield. They were friendly, efficient, and had me on my way in 10 minutes. This Grissom location almost ruined my move, dont let them do that to you!
Very rude front desk employees. If UHAUL is going to be hiring unskilled personnel they should at least include a customer service section in their training for new employees. Teach them how to say please and thank you to customers.
I thought the customer service was great. First time I went in to reserve a truck I came into the store ten minutes before they were to close but the guys in there were very sweet to help me out anyway. They didnt make me feel like I was imposing. Then when I picked up the truck they helped me sign up for a storage unit, answered all my questions and even switched out the truck for me when I needed one with a ramp even though we had to redo the paperwork. I like this place and highly recommend it
Stopped by with a bad towing wire harness. Seth and Alex helped me out. They took the time to check to see if it was just a bad fuse, trying to save me money. Since it was bad wires, they replaced the harness right then and there. Service was excellent. They were friendly, did a great job. I would definitely highly recommend them if you need anything moving-related or need a tow wiring harness put on! Thanks again, guys!
Truck rental was easy and they were very helpful. I also had a storage unit there. When I had problems with the unit above leaking into my unit, they immediately took action. Cleaned up my unit, reboxed items and gave me 3 months Free rental. Id definitely use them for my storage and truck rental needs.
This is the best location in the area hands down. The staff is always fast, friendly and willing to go the extra mile! Keep up the great job guys!
When there expecting to have good customer service and have everything done right. Went there to get lights and trailer break installed. Customer service was ok didn’t mind the wait but when they were done I got home when to use the lights found out that they were not even hooked up correctly had to go back 2 times to have it done right. I was vary disappointed in the service and how they left the wires just hanging after they were done. Never going to a u haul again and definitely not recommending them for trailer light to be installed
THIS IS NOT A REVIEW FOR UHAUL BUT FOR MIGHTY MEN MOVERS IN SAN ANTOMIO.I left a review for this moving helper named Freddie. The review I had left for Freddie had stated that he could not taking the unused moving blankets back to uhaul, and instead took my dining room chairs. I had to drive the blankets back to uhaul on the same day. I drove to California that evening. Also to add, Freddie had called me personally about the review I left for him to tell ME, that wasnt appreciated and that I was wrong to leave a bad review of him. I have absolutely a million nasty words to express myself here. To also top this entire situation off, of the 2 UBoxes I ordered. I discovered that I had so much room left in my first UBOX that I could have actually taken and/or fit in my chairs. I noticed Freddie had continually stated that I could not fit all my things in the boxes. While I had accepted that I would need to leave items out, I now feel that Freddie took advantage of me as a Moving Help customer, in order to come up on any of the items I was forced to leave behind.

On July 31st I went to empty my ubox. Ricardo who works in the back with the uboxes explained to me he broke my lock on accident an left my ubox unsecured for days. (Why wouldnt he just replace the lock an inform the front desk of the incident?)Now Im missing a very large item from my unit.
I had a trailer hitch installed on an 09 Sierra. The guys were friendly and really helpful. When I got home I noticed a pin on the connector was bent and they replaced it as soon as I went back. It really wasnt more than 30 minutes later.
A few months ago the staff was great- friendly and helpful. The current GM should not be around customers. Has snapped at me twice while Im just trying to get propane.
Zero customer service and RUDE. A mistake was made with our reservation and there was ZERO attempts to make it right or to help us out in any way. As if moving were not stressful enough you have to deal with a staff that is full of attitude and completely disrespectful on top of it all. U-Haul is full of A-Holes...they should seriously consider a name change. Just because people need your services doesnt mean you get to treat them like crap. U-Haul will be the last place we ever go to for moving...even if we have to pay more elsewhere.
We had a trailer hitch installed on our car to accommodate a 4x8 trailer. We paid $400+ dollars for the equipment and installation. We then rented a trailer to travel across the country not a week later.Got the trailer hooked up at this uhaul location loaded it and took off toward Florida. The next day on I-10 in Louisiana on rough roads the trailer popped off of the hitch across three lanes of traffic into the grass median. So cue cops and a wrecker we have to pay the wrecker then wait 2+ hours for uhaul to send someone to tow the trailer to the nearest uhaul center. The center they took us to was amazing and helped us out.Come to find out from that center the bar that Grissom road sold us was NOT THE RIGHT ONE. We had driven 400 miles with the trailer not attached to the hitch with the pin because the pin didn’t fit....I would not recommend this location to anyone. We were so blessed to not have hurt or killed anyone with the trailer and no damage either. But if we would have been 3 miles ahead it would have killed someone. All because people didn’t do their jobs.Don’t use this location there are plenty of others in San Antonio.
I rented a trailer in Minnesota and dropped it off here in San Antonio the drop-off procedure was as simple as ABC they checked my lights and said okay youre good to go fantastic selection of vehicles and trailers to read this is the place you to go to if youre moving
I checked out the U-haul about 2-pm, however, the stuff members asked me to return the truck before 7:pm at the same day. I am wondering that who could finish all the apartment move at 4 and half hours. As a result, I have to keep it overnight. At the sunday morning, I received a call from one stuff to push me return their truck asap. And i have to rush 10 miles to return the truck. As i keep it overnight, they charge me another 20 dollars. My suggestions for all the customers are listed as follows: (1) check the time of your receipt when you get the U-haul. Be sure the specific time that you should return it in case that they will charge you 20 extra dollars for late reply. (2) never go to this U-haul center as they are rude for all the customers.
It was fun and inexpensive. The staff there is very courteous to our party and made the extra effort to make us feel comfortable.
I paid $500 for a hitch and installation which is crazy overpriced to begin with and, when I showed up as scheduled for the installation, they told me they werent sure where the parts were and would call me later. So I drove all the way back home and had them call me to say they no longer make the hitch and had to refund the money. The lady seemed like she didnt really know how to answer my questions and told me the refund processing time depending on my credit card which is not true. I work for a credit card company and it depends on the merchants... 2.5 weeks later and I still dont have my refund...
These guys are great, we rented a truck last week and they where very nice. We where in and out inside of ten minutes. 10/10 would go back! Thank you

I rented a pickup from this location and wound up paying twice the advertised price of $19.99 per day. I paid $35 for one hour. Very deceptive advertising. I even asked for a trailer and the salesman said it would be $200 for the hitch.The salesman, Jonathan McCantas, did not make it clear what I would be paying and was rude when I brought the truck back and inquired about the price.Save your money. Go somewhere else. Its expensive, full of hidden fees, and the customer service is awful.

The facility is roach infested. Not only did I NOT receive the free month storage as the contract stated, but my formerly roach-free household will now have roaches by the time my house closes which is going to cost me to exterminate. If I hadnt been so tired from the 2100 mile drive 1/2 way across the country, I would have looked for storage facility. As it is now, Im stuck having to pay yet another month as my home closes three days after the next storage payment is due.

I am reserving this review for when I receive a call back from Justin, the manager of this location. My problems started out last year. For some unknown reason I was moved out of my unit in November of 2013. After them figuring out that it was a mistake I was signed to a new contract. One that I havent been able to read since I was not there at the time that it was ILLEGALLY signed. Keep in mind I now live in California and had no way of coming into the location to sign a new contract. I have no idea what the new contract states as far as late fees and rate increases. Which by the way I was conveniently given a rate increase a couple months ago. Because I do live across the country I have had to pay the rate increase so my items in storage stay secure. The latest issue is the late fee schedule, which the Assistant manager cant even tell me when a late fee will be added to my account. I called after my first late fee was assessed this month and was assured I would not receive another if I paid my bill by the 15th of this month. It is the 9th of the month and another late fee has been added to my account. I called and spoke with Sasha Guzman and she was not helpful at all. She had no answers to any of my questions and had the worst customer service I have dealt with in a long time. Every other word was UH and I dont know. I would think that in order to become an assistant manager you would have to be able to answer simple questions. Now, back to the ILLEGALLY signed contract. After doing a little research into Texas state laws, I could sue Uhaul for forging my name or copy/pasting my signature from the old contract. I will be talking to a lawyer and if my current problems are not addressed properly I will be filing a lawsuit.To all potential renters. BEWARE of this location. If they think they can get over on you they will. There are several other locations nearby that would serve you better.I will edit this review and change my wording if these issues are handled to my liking.

Very poor communication, they dont do as they say. they change managers often. I call there number and get some one in az. They were rude so that option is not available. the local mgr. wont return my phone calls, so Im just plain screwed. This is the first time I ever wrote a negative review on anyone. John

I called about a specific type of tow dolly. I was looking for a 5.0 model for a wide base vehicle. After being put on hold twice they hung up on me and after I called back they transferred my call to central dispatch. I wasnt going to wait for 15 minutes for dispatch when the location could have looked on their screen and given me an answer within 10 seconds
Dont do business hear! Called about propane tank refill after being on hold for 5 minutes I was told the guy that does the refilling would be leaving at 6pm so I hurried down there expecting them to be really busy since I was on hold so long. Got there to find 3 employees doing absolutely nothing and was told there was nobody qualified to fill tanks.

They dont have equipments for my car and they dont allow me to bring my own too.
I rented the 10 foot truck and loaded it up. When I got ready to leave the door would not close. I had to unload it to take it back. I took it back and they still want to charge me for the miles.
They take for ever, specially one of the employee that he never wear his name tag, this person always avoid and ignore everyone whos in line, pretend to be busy on the phone or smoking outside, I was in the store four times and he behaved the same way every time.

Terrible. If I could give a zero I would. They gave me a rental van with white bugs in it and now I have the bugs all over my furniture and things. I am not from Texas and did not know they were bugs. I am filing a complaint with U-Haul. Do not rent here! They have incompetent people working here and do not care about people at all.

The deal really leaves a lot to be desired. I have only been in the USA for a year and I do not speak English that would be the most correct since we are in the USA but that does not justify the mistreatment of the client, the duty of the person who attends the client to seek a solution and not simply respond in a powerful way. I do not recommend this place at all.
