We came to shop for a Mazda CX-5, Justin was very informational and accommodating during our purchasing process. He brought different trims and colors, until we finally decided on the Machine Grey body paint. We are extremely happy about going with the Gran Touring trim. The interior has a luxurious feel and the tech inside the car is impressive. We’re also appreciative for the sales manager, Dave, who was patient and informational as we kept asking about different options included. All in all, great team and service.

Sales was attentive and kept process going, finance deserves a special shout out: Steven was 100% amazing and easy, and easy to talk to and clear and got me out of there in probably about a half an hour, which is mind blowing when I am a custom to five hour finance meetings when buying a car. While I appreciate the prompt response, I will likely take my business elsewhere for future maintenance as I spent too much money on the car to risk gaps in routine maintenance.Original Review:This review is for the service department.I took my car in for routine maintenance. When I got my car back I noticed the tires had not been rotated, yet I was charged for a tire rotation. I called back and they had me come back in to verify they had not been rotated. They verified the tires had indeed not been rotated and explained that it was because they could not find the wheel lock key as it “was not in the spot it usually is”. If this was the case, they should have told me initially. Yet they charged me and lied about the tire rotation actually being completed.I asked if they checked the area where the spare tire is and they told me they did check it. I took their word for it and they instructed me to contact my original dealer to obtain the key. When I got home, I checked the spare tire area out of curiosity and the key was right next to the tire iron in PLAIN VIEW. If they had actually checked the spare tire area, they would have seen it. I attempted to call back and left a voicemail a week ago and have not received a response.Now I don’t have any confidence that other services, such as an oil change were performed, as I was lied to twice about a job as simply as a tire rotation. I’m surprised I have received such unprofessional service as the reviews for this dealer are generally positive. I believe I have been patient with this process thus far. All I would like is for them to correct this yet it has been a week since I contacted them and I have not received a response.

I am located in Northern California and have never bought outside of local dealers before but Alana was able to assist in finding what I wanted. I just bought a 2021 CX-5 Grand Touring with the GT premium package in Eternal Blue. The experience I had for buying this car was excellent. I was able to tear drive the car with no hassles or hard pushes. I was able to enjoy my time out and was able to make a decision much easier. From there on TJ was absolutely great making the whole process easy and keeping in contact as I waited for the color of car I wanted to arrive on lot. I had an AMAZING experience here this weekend. I had a low front tire and I broke my mud flap after I curbed my car in a parking lot...I dropped my car off here over the weekend and they were on it ASAP. Sal helped me and he was SO kind, he had great communication, and he was extremely clear about repair price. My car was ready to go in less than a day and I was updated throughout the entire process. Sal picked up all my calls immediately and he sent photos and videos throughout the process. It was so refreshing to work with Sal because he was so positive and happy. Picking up my car didnt even take 5 minutes and Sal was so friendly and so helpful. I will be coming back for future checkups for my car!!

I bought my car yesterday at John Hine Mazda and I couldn’t be happier! Tyler was great and made the process very seamless with trading my car in and purchasing the new one. I didn’t feel any pressure and everyone there was very nice from the moment I walked in. I had an appointment for a specific car and Tyler had it pulled out front for me to test drive. Everything was great and I LOVE my new car!

If I could give this one particular dealership zero stars I would but here we go. I bought my Mazda 3 in 2017 and have taken great care of my care since. I attached a maintenance package as part of my loan so that I can go to any Mazda dealership and have the basic necessities taken care of. I have taken my car at least three times to the San Diego dealership for service on Camino Del Rio S and have had no issues previous to my visit today. Today I had an appointment for the basic needs on my car and unfortunately they told me they found a nail in my tire. Not a big deal I will get that fixed else where. So I go to pick up my car after they tell me its ready, it maybe takes me 15 mins to get to the dealership. Jade Adams, my advisor, was great she helped me out and answered all of my questions, until I got outside to my car. My car was already parked in a spot facing the dealership and once I got into my car I looked through the windshield and I noticed this bad boy here. There was a BRAND NEW HUGE crack from the top of my windshield to the bottom. I had no previous damage to my windshield what so ever and now after I picked up my car from being serviced I have a HUGE crack in my windshield. I politely told Jade, my advisor, that I found a crack in my windshield and she alerted her manager. Thats when Jerry Antoine stepped in. Oh Jerry... Thats all I have to say to him. He seemed to not take this as a serious matter. I had not even started my car after getting the keys back so this is in no way my fault. He told me it was probably because it is warm outside and after washing cars with the temperature difference sometimes windshields crack. Okay, if that does happen you should either be informing your PAYING customers that there is a risk in warmer weather of cracking windshields when washing them or dont offer to wash a customers car. He then told me to call my insurance and see if they cover cracked windshields and he would do some research to see what he could do in the matter. My insurance most likely does but it was at no fault of my own. Im not fixing this crack and having a claim on my account because you didnt take responsibility for you mistake. I didnt not even once hear an apology from Jerry, the manager of Mazda on Camino Del Rio S, just excuses. I will NOT be going back to this location to finish out the rest of my services and I will NOT be recommending this location to any else, ever. I just want my window fixed.

Staff here is super helpful and not pushy at all. Ray Tan is one of the best salespeople I’ve ever worked with. He’s extremely knowledgeable about the cars I was looking at, not just the general features, but also the more technical details that I would usually need to ask a mechanic. There was very little negotiation because the offers for my trade in and the price for the new vehicle were started off much better than I’ve seen on kbb or the other sites. Ray and the rest of the team made everything so simple I left with a new car the same day. 100% recommended going here to everyone.

Unfortunately, the new car buying experience as it stands currently in the United States is an exercise in frustration. You spend too much time in the dealership, waiting on the salesperson to go “ask his manager” about some secret special deal, just for you. Trying to get actual numbers about your monthly papyment is a hassle. It’s nonsense, and everyone involved in the process knows it’s nonsense. And this is exactly what I was expecting when I contacted Hine about a quote on a CX-5. Tyler responded with a concise spreadsheet of prices listed at different mileage amounts with tax, dealer fees, etc. already included. I’m still sure there is a catch, but I decide to go into the dealer a few days later to see for myself. To my surprise, no bait and switch occurred. Tyler was as upfront about pricing as he had been online. We ended up getting a great price and weren’t at the dealership all day. The experience was actually pleasant, which is not something you will hear about new vehicle purchasing very often. I would reach out to Tyler and get a quote if you’re interested in a Mazda. The lack of hassle and the constant up selling might surprise you. Great experience and we got the car we really wanted!!!

This is our first and last Mazda. We bought a new 2018 CX5 and as of December 2020 it had about 12k miles on it. The cylinder heads gave out, to which we were told was a one in one million chance. Twice it was insinuated it may have been related to how the car was driven. This is our family car, incredibly low mileage, main commute is to/from daycare. Thankfully we were given a loaner vehicle. We waited about 20 minutes in the loaner office and had to ask why there was a wait - the system was down. When we received the loaner I asked if it had been sanitized. I was told it had been but I could see residue around the cup holder. Communication throughout the process was poor, most texts/messages to our service advisor were not returned, and on one occasion the main service desk routed me to a generic line (not that of the advisor). Our car was returned with the gas light on (it had 1/4 tank when it was TOWED to Mazda) and a large shoe print on the back seat. The paperwork shows mileage in is the same as the mileage out. The only effort for service recovery was a coupon for the air filter, which we had to request. I had the car in for regular maintenance 2-3 months ago and apparently it wasnt an issue then. So incredibly disappointed in Mazda.

Bought a brand new cx-5 in April and the sales people were amazing. Helpful, kind accommodating the entire time. Fast forward, my brand new cars battery seems to now die for no reason. I had to jump my car to go to work yesterday and called today to make an appointment and they can’t get me in until Thursday. When I asked what I should do if this continues in the meantime the women stated “I’m not sure”. I informed her I am a registered nurse in the ER and need to be be there and on time during a global pandemic. I asked if I’m supposed to just jump my car every time I go to work and she stated “yeah, I guess I mean you could walk in but no guarantee you’ll be seen”. It shouldn’t be that hard to give me a courtesy car and keep my car until the appointment Thursday so I can reliably get to work. Horrible experience and horrible costumer service. I’m very disappointed.

This was my first time buying a car my own, and I can’t thank Chris enough for helping and giving me the best experience from start to finish!I went with my mom and we barely knew anything about Mazda. So having Chris there tell us what we needed to know was great. His approach came out in a friendly way, where he wanted to help us, which I liked. And his turn around with our questions from the manager and numbers, was quick and didn’t have us waiting for a long time.He listened to everything I was looking for in a car. He wasn’t just giving me a car to just make a sale. I went in the morning and had two other cars to look at afterwards throughout the day. I told him I would think about it and be back after looking at the other cars.Chris did not push for that sale to be done right then and there. He didn’t even get the manager to come out to talk to us, which was great because the other two places did that after telling them multiple times I wanted to think about it or sleep on it. Those places felt pushy, and John Hine Mazda did not.The next morning, I went back and got the CX-5 and it drives smoother than cream cheese on your bagel. I fell in love with it, and Mazda was something I didn’t think I would get. They definitely blew me away with what it came with and how nice it drives. My mom was very impressed and this car was at the top of the list since the beginning from the test drive.Even the finance with Genevieve at the end was very nice and listened to all of our questions. The experience overall was the best I could ever ask for. They make you feel comfortable and not pushy whatsoever.I am very happy with my purchase and look forward to many years of driving it.

Im a bit clumsy and what not so i may not be the best customer, but jade always helps me out. Im sure everyone there is dialed but i like the consistency with her.I had a car inspection and usual maintenance. Nice to know it can get done while im at work 👍

Denise from the Service Dept is not only a fantastic human being, but she is also great at her job! I called yesterday with an issue with my 8 yr old Mazda... in 5 minutes she confirmed that it was covered under warranty and scheduled an appt to fix it today. I dropped my car off this morning (smiling faces and warm welcomes everywhere!) and the repair (plus light bulb changes) are done... in THREE HOURS! This is an update six months after purchase...........Each visit to John Hine Mazda, starting with the Sales experience and continuing through the Service experience, makes me even more convinced that John Hine Mazda is a very special place. Each person I interact with is not only professional and courteous, but also makes it clear that they are concerned about my experience. This started with Joel in Sales and continued through my monthly Nitro top-offs, and has now continued with Vanessa and Sal in Service and also Jon who got me into my loaner. I know that this pervasive attitude can only exist because of the business ethics of the top management. You obviously hire, and keep, only the very best employees.One more thing, the idea of videotaping the underside of my car, my tires, and my filters is a brilliant practice that makes me absolutely sure of your honesty and transparency...............My only experience with John Hine Mazda has been with Joel in Sales. Joel was very knowledgeable and was a huge help.
