Cute spot. Avocado toast was tasty. My friend enjoyed his breakfast burrito. The latte with almond milk was smooth and perfect temp. Lovely spot with indoor/outdoor feel. Definitely worth a try!
Excellent experience just now during Padres Opening Day! My husband and I enjoyed sharing a cold brew, chocolate croissant and also a vegan burrito bowl featuring jackfruit. Everything was delicious and the service was SO friendly and accommodating! I’ve never experienced such a high level of customer service at a coffee shop before. I felt their passion and pride for their products 😍👌🏻
The baked goods, especially the pumpkin and muffins, are delicious. With carrots and nuts and all, its really hearty and safe! This, in my opinion, is the best place to get a cup of coffee. The coffee is delectable and very addicting. Smoothies and tea are also tasty and well-made. Its worth trying the strawberry tea because its delicious!
Stopped by today to get some work done and wanted to be by the park. This location is perfect. The staff were super nice and took care of us. The environment is nice to focus.
Loved:Outdoor seating with table serviceClear layout to control traffic flowSafety equipmentI am a sucker for light roast coffee but sad to hear they had medium and darker. We ordered cold brew, shot of espresso and Colombia with smoked salmon toast.Salmon toast was refreshing, easy to eat and the right amount of ingredients. A side of capers is my only wishlist.Friendly customer service and good explanations. Plus with outdoor seating you can get a free dog show as locals take their dogs out for morning walks. Its a nice perk to have the shop by the park.
Spacious place with outside, bar and table seating as well as take away. Lots of tea choices as well as coffees. I always get a cortado.Nice food menu. Fresh ingredients. And interesting flavor combinations especially for toasts. Avocado, fennel, grapefruit with sesame seeds was yummy! Reasonable prices - coffee specials is the $3-4. Toasts big enough to share.Like that they have serve yourself water station and condiments.Staff is professional and friendly.
Classic, calm, and laid-back coffee shop with chill vibes. Great food and coffee menu. Relaxing atmosphere. Hidden gem in East Village.
Expensive for a regular cup of coffee.People always say Starbucks is expensive!
Wow. Their breakfast sandwiches are incredible. My boyfriend and I were so pleased. You get a hefty, delicious sandwich for a super reasonable cost. Their soy lattes were perfect as well. Thank you for an awesome breakfast!
The baristas were really nice, and the vegan breakfast burrito was great. I might try something other than the cold brew next time.
Was staying at Hard Rock and wanted a unique dining experience for breakfast. This offered just that. Jumping on a scooter, and shooting past Petco Field, I stumbled upon this cool looking spot. While it would have been nice to dive a bit deeper into the menu, I was eating small, and got a (house made?) pop tart and espresso. Sitting outside, I got to enjoy the sights and sounds of San Diego... as well as the near perfect weather. I will be coming back, and getting some actual food as the dishes ppl had around me looked great!
I ordered a pour over... Waited ten minutes and asked them if the drink was ready. They forgot to make it :/.I was in a rush to head to work and said, no worries, Ill take a drip coffee instead. I was then told, you dont understand... we dont have any drip coffee ready either.Lets just say, this left a bad taste in my mouth.
I stumble on this place while woundering on the street looking for a good cup of coffee. I ended up ordering a Cortade and something to eat.The glass of coffee was so well prepared, the blend of the coffee was really balanced, not too roasted and yet not too faded, the milk foam was spot one and the quantities were balanced (the glass did not burned my hand which I found amazing). The plate of food looked amazing and tasted as such, the egg was well done and the bread was a delicious sour dough with a great salad as the side. Great cheese sauce over it.The ambiance in this place is so nice and mellow, if you want to just open your laptop and just work from there.Gonna come back to this place!
Would leave 0 if possible waited over 50 minutes for a breakfast burrito! How does that make any sense? Waited for a coffee for over 15 min alone!!! Never coming back can’t believe they wasted my time on mids food and coffee no appropriate words can describe the experience
Great place! I find it funny that they call themselves Copa Vidi (vee-dee) and not Copa Vida (vee-dah). Otherwise awesome place!
Beautiful location! Great coffee & good vibes, very clean & extremely nice staff.Ive always had a good pleasant experience here.
Friendly staff, quick service, and yummy coffee. They have an extensive breakfast & lunch menu, but the variety of drinks is what’s most impressive with lots of coffee and tea options. The atmosphere inside is modern yet cozy. There is also a large fenced-off patio area for outdoor dining along a fairly quiet street as well.
New:I have been coming to this location for months and Ive always enjoyed it, enough to leave a great review a few months ago. I went to Copa today and it was a very different experience than Im used to. The baristas were short and didnt make any attempts at customer service. I ordered the dish I always get, the soyrizo hash, and it came out without any arugula, salad dressing, or bread, which is like half of the dish. I brought it back to the counter and a woman exchanged it for me (i assume just replated it) but this service and quality is not what Im used to. Despite this being close to my house, I will be looking for a new regular spot.Original Review:I love this spot! The employees here are all super nice, the drinks are crafted with care and the food is on point. My only wish is that they would bring back the full food menu, but Ill still keep coming here even without :)UPDATE: the full menu is back, thanks guys!!
Nice coffee shop with good food and drinks. The staff is very very nice. We stayed a few hours to eat and work, it wasn’t a problem for us to stay and work. The WiFi was extremely slow, plenty of plugs near the couches but none otherwise. The worst thing was the playlist, terrible songs, absolutely not meant to chill. It was March 1st, around noon, please find out and ban this playlist.
I came here a couple times during my trip and I came for coffee but ended up trying a lot more. The “chorizo hash” is pretty amazing and the 2nd time around I tried the “fig jam & almond butter toast.” Both were really good and honestly should be split b/t two people. Overall great food and interesting espresso drinks like the “cold brew honey lemonade.” It sounds weird but oddly delicious. A must try spot and right next to the Padres field.
Amazing Coffee place to visit for my Summer Vacation!
Amazing service! I went on a Saturday morning & I misunderstood what I ordered and they remade it to what I wanted and were so kind about it. Food is good and coffee was yummy :) thanks again!
The service, the price, the quality of coffee and desserts, the comfortable atmosphere - all are first-rate. This is a great place to stop and spend some time.
Great service! Love the breve cappuccino ☕🧘♀️😍
One of the best coffee shops in San Diego, always consitant in the quality and service. They never ever have giving me a bad coffee or had a bad experience. A must go for locals an tourist alike.
I found the staff to be rude. I ordered a chai latte ahead for pickup - mentioned this to one of the guys. When it was made I thought they would call my name or tell me since they knew I was waiting. The guy put the latte out and didn’t say anything. Latte was not the best- almond milk was barely steamed. Lukewarm chai :/
Actually, this place is our favorite spot where we could enjoy chit-chat with friends over the cup of coffee. I recommend this place and will be coming back here soon.
This was my favorite coffee shop that I visited during a trip to San Diego! The service was kind and professional, the avocado toast was amazing, and my espresso drinks were delicious and well crafted! On top of that, they had a great outdoor patio.
Go here every morning, the staff is super friendly!
Awesome staff and great coffee!
Fantastic service, high quality products and and lovely store/cafe.Friendly staff, plentiful parking, great coffee and snacks as well as soooooo much space to meet fairly large groups.Cool chill place. The staff are awesome and chill. Very goos coffee and easy parking :)
Still open for take-out today! Great customer service, no line, good veggie breakfast burrito with dips, and tasty cold brew. Will be back!
Curtis was awesome! Helped us pick out drinks (we are rookies here) and they were fantastic. Definitely go with the vanilla latte! Cheers!!!!
Copa Vida is a popular coffee tea and light food fare spot. For myself, its a go to saturday morning spot when I want to sit down and have a nice casual, not long, breakfast. Make no mistake, the primary goal of this place is to give you good coffee and tea, and that it does very well. The food is simple, mostly breads typed with eggs and the like, but it complements the drink choices very well and fits the ambiance of the spot right on. It has a distinctly European vibe to it, a spot where your ok spending an hour or so sipping your drink and eating a bite before ramping up on the day. You wont feel heavy after dining here, which is a nice change of pace from other breakfast spots. Highly suggest it for an on the go type breakfast or a nice spot for a really good coffee and tea and some good people watching and or relaxing.
So this barista here with the grey jacket twice now has given me bad attitude for reasons I cannot analyze nor understand, except for maybe her insecurities might be the reason why her and also a few other baristas who caused me to feel unwelcome here at Copa Vida Cafe in downtown San Diego. Despite the unpleasant attitudes from certain baristas, the location is great, the parking sucks, and the architectural designs both interiorly and exteriorly are intriguing with the rustic accents and city vibes, oh an yeah their teas taste good!
Super knowledgeable people, serving quality coffee, purported carefully, and presented well.
Sweet spot next to the ball park. Food isnt my favorite, but they make a good latte.
We enjoyed our tea and the design of the space at Copa Vida. I appreciated that they didnt object about the to-go box I was carrying. The barista was helpful and offered tea suggestions. Seemed to be a great place to go work or have meetings, as many others who were there looked to be doing.
I had their pour over coffee and it was delicious. The barista brought it over and seemed very proud of making good coffee and said, genuinely let me know how you like it, which was very nice. This place definitely gets busy during their rush, and they dont make coffee quickly, so if youre looking to get in and out in 30 seconds this is not for you. They have a great selection of coffee, espresso drinks, and teas, and seem to take pride in all of it. They also have some food like avocado toast and other things that look delicious for a lunch or snack - I did not eat their food, however. Local looking clientele, everyone was very polite and tended toward the hipster and older crowd looking for some quality coffee. It was a nice place to sit and chat with an old colleague.
Very nice and savvy staff. The same can be said about the atmosphere, as well. The coffee beans brought back very fond memories of wonderfully crafted coffee in Italy. I had a cappuccino. I only drink coffee in the mornings at home for breakfast; otherwise, socially during the day (and my social life is not particularly booming at the moment). I was very tempted to have another - it was a decadent, full-bodied cappuccino. I opted for a kambucha from the tap as a second order. Amazing! Theyll offer kambucha during the holiday season, so stop by to drink yours in a laid-back, semi-outdoors coffee bar. Take your laptop and bring your lively (or non-lively) conversations too.Ill have to find a reason to go back for another cappuccino. They have my vote, merely because this is how coffee is supposed to taste!
Dog friendly establishment settled right next to Petco Park. The coffee, assorted drinks, and fresh food are all wonderful. Great place to work from your laptop, meet friends/colleagues, or just grab something to go.
I love the look of this place so much. Its like every hipsters dream. The decor is so fresh. I had the Americano, which was good but standard. I also got the salmon toast while my friends got the avocado toast. Everything was good, but the edges of the toast were particularly hard and sometimes difficult to chew. Its also a little pricey for what it is, but nevertheless, its fresh spot to visit. Beware it can get super busy though. We luckily skipped the rush, but the line was out the door soon after so try coming a little early.
Nice place. Coffee and Tea selection is pretty decent and employees are polite and fast. If you like rich people coffee shops this is perfect. Streamlined for business conversations or laptop time with mild mannered music not too quiet or loud. If you like a more cozy coffee shop with potential communist leanings there are better options. pricing is as expected for downtown coffee
Nice spot. A little trendy for my taste but if your into coffee shops your going to love it. I had a regular cup of coffee and I think I was the only one in that place that ordered regular coffee. If young and hip this place is for you. If old and lame like me.....
The atmosphere was nice. Very Modern and clean. Coffee was good, if you know what youre ordering. There was no menu detailing the ingredients of the drinks. I understand the basic coffee blends are common knowledge, but the specialty drinks should have some mention of ingredients. Overall, a nice coffee spot.
This coffee shop is simply gorgeous. A little pretentious, sure, but you cant deny the design. It attracts the trendy marketing crowd of East Village. Very silicon valley like. Upscale hipsters with laptops abound. The coffee is good. Not great, but consistently good. Im sure many will and do love it. I find the espresso to be a little weak for my tastes, but the baristas are well trained and make consistent cups of coffee. Theyre espresso machine is very, very nice. They also have pour overs and cold brew. Food is good, overpriced for sure but they dress it up nice. All in all, its a lovely addition to East Village.
This is a great place to start the day. They have many outstanding blends of coffee to choose from and its all made on-demand via pour-over. Super fresh and smooth taste. The entire place is very open, clean and bright. Its a welcoming and relaxed scene thats very good for working, reading, etc. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the price. Its a bit pricy, but you get what you pay for.
Great healthy breakfast burrito.
I was here for two days and went here three times! Delicious food and coffee. Good customer service too. They have healthier options for food. Avocado toast is delicious and the cortado was on point!
Great coffee and delicious avocado toast!
This place is situated right next to Pecto Park, in the heart of downtown. It has a relaxed and modern vibe with plenty of seating. The staff are friendly and care about their coffee and customers. The drink are well crafted, although not the best Ive had in San Diego. This spot is definitely worth checking out if in the downtown area.
Coffee is great and food is decent. But staffs could use some training. Got here on Saturday 11am, place wasnt packed but lots of tables had plates and cups left on them.
This is my new all-time favorite coffee place in the US. I am so sad I was only visiting or I would be here every day. (I did go four times in two days, so its probably better that I dont live here!). The staff was amazing, the coffee was the best I have had in the US, and the food was out of this world. Get anything that comes on their homemade bread. hint hint: the avocado toast will fill you up for an entire day. You better believe I will be coming back the next time I am in town!
Great coffee and espresso! Friendly staff and I love the location right next to the park at the park.
Holy moly this spot was busy! Everyone is off from work and the breakfast menu sounded delicious, it makes sense! Copa Vida is a coffee shop Ive always wanted to visit, so I jumped at the chance while I was in San Diego. Service was quick and courteous. The shop was tidy and airy with the large glass doors open. Such a beautiful space!
Great coffee, atmosphere, patio and the staff was very friendly! I didnt have any breakfast but from what I saw from others it looked delicious!
Great local coffee spot in East Village when your looking for something other than cocktails to hang out. Great kombucha on tap!
