Love the place, it’s a really really cute spot with a wonderful vibe, classic hit songs playing in the background makes you feel like you’re on a vacay!Officially my favorite brunch spot in San Diego♥️ Do try their baked potatoes, California Omelette, French toast and pancakes! There’s a long wait time since there’s no way to make online reservations, I only wish the online reservation system existed so we don’t have to wait for 1-2 hours just to get seated and just be able to reserve in advance. Other than that, this is a MUST EAT HERE place if you’re visiting San Diego. The price range and great food also makes it attractive! :D
This is a spectacular place for gluten-free food! It is a very quaint restaurant, we sat in their patio which is surrounded by trees. It is such a lovely little spot. Our server was extremely efficient. I had a gluten-free turkey bacon avocado sandwich and french fries. it was outstanding my husband had french toast and some really awesome bacon. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be back any time Im in San Diego
Excellent place for food or coffee. Doesnt look like much from the streets, but once inside it has a beautiful tree canopy that flows above your head. The environment surrounds you, its really quite peaceful. They have delicious menu, with Pistachio Crepes or Breakfast Sushi 🍣😋 and so much more! Cant go wrong coming here! Great for a first date or returning date 😉
We visited the Fig Tree Cafe in Pacific Beach, and everything about this place gives you that lovely laid-back-Sunday kind of feeling. While dining here you get to relax under the shade of actual fig trees, and you feel like you have been whisked away on a tropical holiday. All of our food and drinks, and all of the really fun beachy decor, was very enjoyable!
This location is very busy for brunch. We waited about 30-40 minutes to be seated. They have plenty of seating and its in a semi enclosed space so it doesnt feel like youre just completely outdoors. The food is delicious and the drinks are great! The regular mimosa is pretty good, with thin bubbles. I ordered a mimosa flight as well but the regular mimosa was better than all the ones in the flight.
The food is fresh and the staff is super friendly! I was very impressed with our vegan breakfast! We will definitely be back!
Worst breakfast experience in San Diego starting from the very beginning. Rarely will I ever leave a negative review, but if I could give 0 stars I would. It started with getting on the list, told it was 30-40 min wait and we patiently waited 45 min, watching couple after couple that showed up after us get seated figuring maybe they had checked in and left and come back, and then when we asked found out they had never actually put us on the list. Once we finally got to a table (after another 15 min), our server Daniel took 10 min to show up, took our order, and it took 20 min just to get our drinks. Never saw our server Daniel again. We had to ask the host to check on our drinks and he basically just told us, sorry, our other bartender just left and we’re backed up (apparently coffee and cold brew is too tough to grab). Our food came out and the banana foster French toast was really just regular French toast with some bananas chopped up and tossed on it. The chicken sausage omelette was actually pretty decent, but the service was terrible. Did I mention we never saw our server again in the entire hour we were there? The bus boy cleaning the table next to us was the highlight of the experience. We had asked for a couple items that were missed on our meals and drinks and he got them right away. He was awesome! I had to go to the bar to ask for our check since our server never came back to our table (in a section that was only half full). I signed the check right there at the bar and asked to speak to the manager. The server pointed them out to me and said he’d be right over. He made eye contact with me, then turned around and walked the other direction. It wasn’t till we walked out that another manager, Refina, caught up to us on the street as we were getting in our car to ask if there was anything she could do (maybe comp a check next time???). Told her we would not be back but I appreciated her following up. There’s a dozen other places you could go, Richard Walkers, Original Pancake House, Snooze, Breakfast Republic, etc.
They have THE most delicious gluten free bread! We had the mango strawberry french toast with mascarpone, and the veggie omelet with egg whites and a side of Mexican mocha. The outdoor seating area is so cute, and the perfect location to enjoy all the goodies served here.
Staff was great, very friendly and attentive. The place is charming, even though the back portion is open with a big tree, they manage to keep it very clean and free of tree debris. The food was good, not great, it was almost great but a little bland. Definitely worth trying.
The only downside to this cafe is parking. We had to park several blocks down. But its a nice walk after youre stuffed full with their delicious Benedicts!I got the beef short rib Benedict with tomato and avocado on focaccia bread. The beef short rib was juicy and tender and sweet! The tomato on the Benedict was not roasted, not raw which was so good! I also got the grapefruit mimosa which I could barely taste the grapefruit in, but I wasnt complaining haha.My partner got the lobster and blue crab cake Benedict which was so good! Could have used some lemon, but delicious nonetheless.Wait time was about 20 minutes for us 2 on a Sunday morning at 9, which I thought was acceptable.Cafe was cozy and decor was fun.Id definitely recommend this place for brunch! Portions were a little big, but hey, I have leftovers to snack on later! Pricing was perfect.
Fig Tree Pacific Beach was fantastic. Had the California omelette. Made an awesome choice of getting the upgrade on the house potatoes. So good! I really enjoyed the coffee also.Besides the delicious food...the restaurant is really cool. Trees, plants, flowers vines....such a natural and beautiful environment. Its an an indoor/outdoor restaurant. Some of the restaurant is not completely covered. But there are many seats that have a solid cover above. Some tables are covered by vines and wood slats. If I were a local I would be here all the time! Also, the service was great. Friendly, helpful and nice. I will be back when Im in PB again.
I love the restaurant...its cozy and nice! The paint on the wall is fantastic, the 🌳 in a middle of the patio makes you feel pleasant and relaxed. Food was ok...the plates are very simple. I ordered California omelet but it took forever to bring the salsas, butter 🧈 for the bread, for some people the coffe etc etc I understand Sundays are busy and with all this new protocol about covi can be the reason...for sure I will give another try because not happy with the service 😒 well the guy was very nice and did his best..it was just something anyways parking is hard good luck with that as anyone knows Pacific Beach is extremely busy plus residents parks on the street...a lot of patience and if you make the reservation arrive 30 mnts early or take Uber and if you stay or live in the area ride a bike.
Ill start off with my Short-ribs Benedict. Absolutely nailed the cook on the egg. The meat was well cooked. I really like watching the egg yolk ooze onto the rest of the plate and taste amazing. Crabs Benedict just as good. I enjoyed the moist meat from the crab. I WOULD definitely rate this place 5 stars. However, what really brought it down was the presentation. The plate was dirty underneath. Ask yourself, how does that reflect on the cleanliness of the kitchen. Its details like that, that can either make a dish spectacular or tank it. Hopefully next time will be different.
Delicious breakfast. I got the California omelet. Nice, fluffy eggs, avocados, bacon in the middle of the folded omelet. Great place for vacationers. Nice hearty coffee.
I really wanted to love this place. My husband keeps telling me we need to try new places, and that we can’t continue to eat breakfast at our trusted go to breakfast joint so a reluctant me decided to give Fig Tree Cafe a try. We were seated right away and they are definitely pup friendly! The decor was welcoming. Our server, Stephanie, took what felt like an eternity to even greet us and take our drink orders. Almost an hour there we had to ask her to check on our food when we noticed tables that were sat after us had already gotten their food. She returns maybe ten minutes later to ask what we had ordered. If I was a gambling women I would say she forgot to put our order in. I was ready to just pay for our drinks and walk out when our food finally came. I was really hoping the food would make up for my experience with our server and the service but it did not. We had the California Burrito and the Banana Foster French toast. The burrito lacked flavor while the French toast tasted as if it had been cooked in a whole lot of butter or oil. What a disappointment. ☹️
Absolutely fabulous. Husband and I shared the Bananas Foster French toast and the California omelet. The potato upgrade is a must. Phenomenal. Definitely did not walk away hungry. The coffee was good. If my hubby was a champagne person I would have tried the apple mimosa flight. Looked great but didnt want all 4 to myself. The ambience is fabulous too. It is named Fig Tree Cafe for a reason. Service was great. As soon as someone left, the table was cleaned. And I mean As. Soon. As. They left. This place was recommended as it is 2 blocks from where we stayed. So glad we chose it. Would come back if we were ever in the area.
The fig tree cafe is really good and its a cute place to dine in. They have a lot of options on the menu and theyre drinks are amazing. They dont have a wide childrens menu but they have options.Everyone is friendly here but when they get busy you could potentially get ignored for a bit. Its not the worst though, they check on you more if you just let them know. Its refreshing that theyre never rude about complaints, they just handle it for you the best they can.Right now they have dine in but its all outside. They get pretty packed so if your trying to social distance its best to visit on weekdays instead. The place is also really clean, they have a lot of trees and plants life around so it can get all over the place but they do a good job at keeping up with the foliage.
Good service and great food! Love the outdoor seating. Highly recommend for brunch!
I am a really big fan if Fig Tree Cafe and I eat here around once a week. Both their dining in and delivery are always good. I am vegan and their vegan options here are amazing. They have the best Vegan Benedict Ive ever had. I highly recommend it if youre in a savory mood for breakfast. Great food, good atmosphere, highly recommend
Food was really good. Easy, casual outdoorish place in shade. Locals love it. Little pricey but the location in general is too.
Hidden gem in PB. Excellent food. Their home made jam is great, dont forget to get a jar to go.
Best breakfast spot in Pacific Beach. Great food and service. The atmosphere is So Cal at its best. For you vegans out there, this place is for you. They have an egg substitute veggie omelet that is wonderful. Gluten free pancakes too.The coffee is wonderful, and I loved the mugs. It turns out they sell their mugs. I ended up buying three. You can throw a dart at the menu and order what it hits. You cant go wrong here.
Good ambiance but food took forever to show up. Bad combination when you are waiting for your first meal of the day at noon... quality of food was just okay...
Visited this place on a Saturday afternoon. We had a wait time of 40 minutes. The place itself is very unique. The whole cafe is under a tree and feels blissful. The menu has some really good items. There are options for vegetarians and vegans as well. The french fries tasted unique. The veggie burger was quite big and filling. Overall taste was good and worth the wait.
Everything is great here. I go all the time. Never had less than 5 star meal.
Great vibe, great menu. Not higher because 1.5 hour wait for our food - they forgot us! That said, its busy on the weekends and they are short-staffed so a bit of a wait ok, but 1.5 hours is not good.
Great atmosphere and food. Tuscan benedict was very tasty! Cool mugs and merch too for a souvenir.
Great service, expensive, not real fig jam waited 30+ minutes for 4 top on Sunday. Food and drinks were great. Too many dogs which I dont like to be around when Im eating and dogs are uncontrolled
Seemed short staffed. Food was good but arrived at table luke warm. Parking can be an issue at times due to it being street parking.
Fig tree has been a staple of brunch in PB for years now and continues to impress with delicious food, a beautiful atmosphere and man candy. Bacon worth ordering all by its self. Thanks to our amazing server Brooke she went above and beyond to make sure we got a side order of Fig tree Man Candy bacon. She really made our Sunday breakfast worth remembering and will be back soon!
Almost everything is good. However the music is absolutely atrocious. Probably the worst music you’ll ever hear and depending where you sit it is so loud you can barely hear who you’re talking to. The Fray and Gavin Degraw blasting your eardrums out during brunch. Whoever is in charge of the music should know they murder the vibes of this place. It’s the main problem with this restaurant. The food is awesome, great coffee. Music makes me never want to be there.
They are unfortunately experiencing a staffing shortage. It would have been nice if a manger showed face but they were probably cooking food. I would wait until the staffing shortage is over considering service and food fell short of expectations
This place is absolutely gorgeous, but was so busy when we went. We had to wait 45 minutes for Sunday breakfast for two, but it was well worth it. The food was amazing, and the pricing was reasonable. The service was great, and the environment was so aesthetic and relaxing. I will definitely be coming back here when Im in the area again.
This was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful ambiance, service, and tasty food! The food tasted like a lot of love went into it. We got the breakfast sushi, shrimp frittata, and man candy bacon. Yum!!!!! The best!! I wish we had a place like this back home. We will be back!!! Thank you!!!!
Food was great but there were flies everywhere! Some mesh netting or something would help (maybe even bug repellent candles around the entrance?).
Their cappuccinos and honey lavender latte are the jam! Yummy brunch options! Very cute spot for a date ;)
I was recommended Fig Tree by a friend. Super cool vibes, with what I would assume to be a live fig tree covering a large portion of the exposed ceiling. The cold brew ice coffee was really tasty and had coffee ice cubes in it.The California breakfast burrito was huge. Packed with gauc skirt steak potatoes eggs and Pico. Highly recommend.
1.5 hours to get or foodFood was decent but 💯 not worth the waitGo next door the food is fast and the service is better ...... andddd the food was cold
This place was so good. They have an awesome mimosa flight and great brunch items. I really enjoyed the French toasts they had and the sapphire salad.
This place is super cute but the food is even better. My favorites are the California Breakfast Burrito and the Bananas Foster French Toast. Seriously, bring a friend so you can split the two dishes. You won’t regret it.
I was pleasantly surprised with the PB location. The wait was 30 minutes opposed to the 2 hour wait at the Liberty Station location. Once seated we were asked about beverages and greeted by the waiter. Minus the long hair that was in my food everything else was good.
Best French toast I ever had !!! My friends recommended us to stop by and we did . We had a mimosa flight, I got the French toast combo and my husband got a huge omelette. Food was absolutely delicious! I will be back to try their vegan options .Service was good, my coffee was always full and the bus boy cleaned up the plates very quick . However I didn’t enjoy being outside with no heaters on, it felt too cold. And the floor was a little bit too messy.PS: couches could use and upgrade .
So happy with my experience. One of the best breakfasts Ive had in California!Food was fresh, very good, & worth the slightly higher prices.I ordered the Breakfast Casserole & as a breakfast lover Ive got to say its a new favorite! It was fresh & flavorful. Not to mention its a beautiful place full of plants & a positive energy!Waitress was friendly, & constantly came around to make sure we had everything we needed. Cant wait to go back!
We eat here every time we are in San Diego. The atmosphere is super cool and the service is great. The house potatoes are so yummy and so is the coffee cake.
Revolutionary food. Made with quality ingredients. The staff will tell you how everything is made in house due to the insanely good combination of flavors. Everything on the menu is an interesting take classic breakfast foods.
I don’t get the hype. I ordered an omelette and what they gave me was a big flat cooked egg on top of scrambled mix. The egg was bland and the breakfast not very satisfying. Great service though. Pro tip: if you’re looking to sit down right away ask for the bar/ledge outside and you can skip the line!
Great breakfast spot. They are very dog friendly (more so than people friendly lol), so be ready to hear barking and dogs eating around you. Otherwise is a great breakfast spot.
Pretty good but be prepared for items in your food from 🌳 tree limbs above!
Terrible experience. It was not terribly busy but it took 30 minutes just to get our drinks. As the place emptied out our server said she was going on her lunch break for 30 minutes and that another server would bring us our food. 30 minutes later she came back from her break and we were still waiting on food. Over 1 hour at this point. Still took another 20 minutes and my Eggs benedict were ICE cold. Not a very good breakfast, ice cold hollandaise and egg yolks. I would not return.
Ugh. Such mixed feelings. Food was great. Service was terrible. Atmosphere was good!
Always great.Bring your 4-legged kid and let them choose from their puppy menu!
Such a great spot for breakfast or brunch. Every dish is kicked up from the standard fare. Couldnt pick one dish as theyre all one better than the next but roasted potatoes with parmesan and arugala is a fantastic side.
Rating based on my experience 03/03/2021I have visited Fig Tree on multiple occasions and have always had less than satisfactory service. I always try to assume the best and hope that my next visit will be different, but service always falls flat.Every time I order breakfast they bring your plate without any condiments or butter/jelly for toast, then forget to bring it once you have asked for it. Why? Is this really saving money or something? Every. Single. Time. Then the servers never check on you.Ive gotten so used to the bad service that I now request ketchup and butter with my order, and it still doesnt come. Other than that, cute restaurant, I guess.
Homey spot for brunch. BLT with “MAN CANDY” hit the spot!
We love Fig Tree! My partner and I always get one sweet and one savory dish every time we stop by for brunch. The staff is very accommodating when it comes to food allergies as well. You cant go wrong with any of the benedicts or the bananas foster french toast!
Beautiful location, lovely food display, decent service, and everything tasted great. Much of the seating is outdoors. I think in an attempt to get all our meals out at the same time, everything was kind of cold, which was unfortunate on a chilly day. This is the Tuscan Benedict with the upgraded truffle potatoes and a classic mimosa.
Love the food but the wait is ridiculous. 20 minutes before the server, 30 minutes before the beverage, after 1 1/2 hours with no food and no beverage refill, I left. I wont go back.
The Fig tree was hand built by the owner, who is a pretty good carpenter. He never leaves the place alone, and that makes it interesting.
I love fig. Best orange juice in the land and for breakfast and lunch this is one of my favorite spots. Weekdays are calm but good luck on weekends.
Bomb food and the service is great fun ppl to talk to.
Food was great, but not the flys
Freaking delicious, good service, amazing bloody marys
