Very smooth coffee. These baristas know what they are talking about with the coffee and really know how to use their espresso machine. It’s one of our absolute favorites!!Always such a good atmosphere here!Note-Parking can be hard to find depending on the time of day.There is limited seating but comfortable seating no matter where it’s at inside.

The best in town are the coffee and pastries. The environment and service complement the experience as a whole. The latte was delicious and my burrito for breakfast was fantastic! She enjoyed sitting outside sipping coffee on a lovely day.

I like their decaf coffee and the blueberry brioche. The outside seatings can watch for landing airplane with a beautiful sky. No pets allowed inside. So I saw many pretty dogs at outside seating. Their inside have many pictures. It looks great.

Great coffee. The latte was super smooth. Offers roasted coffee beans as well. Nice indoor/outdoor concept, lots of natural lighting, with seats right up against the street windows (great for people watching - and for the low flying airplanes!). Highly recommend.

Im drinking coffee while watching the airplane pass by the open window. I would not recommend it if you want a very quiet place, but personally I recommend the experience in a new place. The wind blows coolly and the coffee is delicious. Friendly staff.

This has been my favorite espresso in San Diego for years. They pour a restretto short espresso that is as sweet as a nut. Great flavors in a thick and fruity coffee. They coffees are not cheap but you have to pay a little more to get quality like this. The best part is that they serve a chaser of sparkling water with the espresso. Try it!

Jewels, Kimberly and Adam are awesome!!!! The pour overs are excellent. The Java from Guatemala is an excellent example of what specialty coffee taste like when it’s grown under the right circumstances along with meticulous farming practices. The roast profile is excellent. Thank me later!

Their prices are very fair, especially given the high quality of their food. The workers are friendly, and the atmosphere is safe and comfortable. Their lattes are flavorful! Its so relaxing to play music.

This lovely place has a walk-up window for ordering and it is an efficient system. Good service and a really cute place when it opens up the dine-in again! The coffee was fantastic. I had the bumble bee latte (or the bumble something) and it was so good. It also heated up really well in the microwave the next day! Almost as good as the first day. Great place.

Food was so yummy. Looking forward to going back again. It has a nice feel to it. If it was closer to my home I would be here often.

As a coffee nerd from the Pacific Northwest I have waited years for San Diego to catch up. Bird Rock is amazing, beautifully roasted and well executed. Its also a lovely little Italy location with wide open windows and a view of the landing planes.

Some of the best coffee you will ever taste! I came with a friend who started making his own espresso drinks at home inspired by this particular roaster.you convinced me to give it a try while visiting San Diego and it was definitely worth it. I ordered coffee here almost daily and usually got some form of an iced mocha. All the drinks we got for super smooth, never better, and very well balanced. If you love coffee, check this place out!

I love this little place. First, the coffee is excellent and of a great quality. I went there and got a flat white (twice!) and it was very good both times I got it. You can see a picture of it, sans one sip, attached.The true magic of Bird Rock is in the service. The barristas are refreshingly kind, attentive, and professional. Everyone who works there appears to love working; they are all upbeat. This place, while not widely innovative or anything, nails the details that make a great coffee shop.

The honey cinnamon latte is so yummy! Go get yourself one! We also ordered a pour over and although it was $7, my husband swears it was worth every penny! At 10am on a weekday the place was virtually dead, so super quick service!

The modern design of the place and the atmosphere really makes this place stand out.San Diego lacks a good coffee culture and Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is definitely helping put the city on the map for good coffee.Unfortunately the lattes we got were pure milk with just a hint of coffee even though beautifully poured and with an aroma you would have to drive miles to get elsewhere—and the milk they use is delicious!Lattes are mostly milk BUT it is imperative to find balance so the milk does not overshadows the coffee without having to resort to add extra shots.

Best damn doppio Ive ever had in my life. A shot of espresso is served as ristretta, which I found out is a shorter extraction of espresso with less acidity from the coffee. Next level coffee experience – a must try!

My favourite roaster and coffee shop in San Diego, possibly California.Delicious and dialled-in espresso. Great milk texture and temperature. Consistent quality across baristas. Pour-overs are a treat. They absolutely nail the fundamentals I look for in a cafe. They also have some yummy specialty drinks if youre in the mood. Pastries are also super tasty.Excellent coffee beans to purchase for home use. Quality cant be beaten. Core beans always available but also rotating selection, so theres something new to try.Relaxed and comfortable ambiance in the shop. I love reading here on weekends and will also sometimes work a bit. Airplanes are fun to watch. Noise level might bother some though.

Visited this place last September and I still rave to my fellow coffee-lovers back home about it. The Ethiopia pour-over I had was exceptional, and the flat white I took with me was gone in seconds. Atmosphere was modern, clean, and inviting, and the staff were stupidly nice, especially with the amount of questions I bothered them with. Will be making it a point to visit again when Im back this coming September!

This place is really nice. I love their coffee (might be my fav in SD) and I can usually find a place to sit. Their bakery items are pretty good as well! Ive only had the Cinnamon Roll but it was sooooo so so good! You can also see a lot of planes landing!

The style points for BRC Little Italy are off the charts. Its located in one of the most trendy neighborhoods, and the marketing feels fresh. The general aesthetic inside the place is open. True to brand, the staff are attentive, yet personable (descriptive of just about every Bird Rock staff member I have met. Typically I would stop in the original Wind-An-Sea location, but I was meandering downtown, so I decided to revisit here). After bantering with the order-taker about the different non-coffee options, I settled on something I have never tried before: the cascara tea. It was described to me in detail as the husk that surrounds the coffee bean itself, that is being brewed for its own distinct flavor. I loved it. Imagine a hibiscus tea combined with a very light roast iced coffee with fruit notes, and your somewhere near the idea of what I enjoyed today. I consider Bird Rock Coffee Roasters to be a go-to coffee destination.

The team here is great and they have really good coffee. What else could you ask for?!! Maybe a Mexican chocolate brownie, definitely ask for that if they have them : )

Ive been coming here every day while in San Diego. Beautiful location first of all and delicious mochas. Nice workers too. I bought some vegan chocolate too, as a gift for someone. I love this place, its a nice break from the usual chains.

Now THIS is coffee. I hadnt been here in a while. Decided to pay a visit this morning. Ordered the Brazilian Terre Alta coffee. I mean...just...wow!!!! Sweet berry taste to it.This isnt a grab-before-rushing-to-work coffee. You sit and sip this coffee. You savor it. You grab a cup of water from the counter with this coffee and sip water every now and then to cleanse your palate so you enjoy your next sip of coffee.The coolest part is that the barista remembered me from when I used to come. Its always great to see familiar faces. Its a good sign of an employer when their staff stays, no matter the occupation.

Finally had the opportunity to visit +Bird Rock Coffee Little Italy location today. Awesome experience! Megan greeted me at the counter and was super intuitive at understanding what I wanted. When I asked if they had bread, she suggested if wanted something more savory, they had a prosciutto and cheese item and she would be happy to heat it up for me. The espresso was top-notch as usual. Ill get a lot done today :D. Super view of flights coming into the airport also...

A great selection of 3rd wave craft roasted beans, on par with other top roasters on the West Coast. There were 4 pour-over selections offered on the day of my visit, including 1 that was dry processed and 1 that was honey processed. The pour-over is a 27 gram/350 ml pour for ~$5, I believe. Each bean might be priced differently. I cant recall. I only know that the Panama selection I chose was $5.25. Id like to see that pricing closer to $4. They sell beans in 8 oz and 16 oz bags, which is a nice break from the customary 12 oz size found at most craft roasters.The pricing for the 16 oz Ethiopian bag that I purchased was roughly $20, which is within $1-$2 of what comparable craft roasters in other areas of the state charge for 12 oz bags of the same beans, so a good value per oz. They also include a free cup of drip coffee if a bag of beans is purchased (which is a practice I appreciate and have experienced in Bend, Oregon with Backporch Coffee), making the pricing an even greater deal. I wish they had a location in Orange County so I could enjoy the beans more often. Maybe they will sell to KIT Coffee? 🤞
