One of my favorite coffee shops in San Diego. I’ve been coming here for a few months and I’m never disappointed. The vibe and design of the place is outstanding. Coffee is delicious and staff are really friendly. Great place to hang out, work or study. If you want to stay late, you can order drinks and enjoy the great atmosphere of Liberty Station.
Its a really nice place thats split up into a cafe and merchandise store. The coffee is great, I love their lattes. The one and biggest complaint I have was the food. Granted its a coffee shop and I would prefer it if they sold only coffee or upgraded their ingredients. They have one sandwich that is $7.50, with egg, bacon, and avocado. The sandwich was very bland, zero flavor, and the egg tasted spoiled. I would really like for them to upgrade their ingredients because the lack of quality is really dangerous to customers and their business.
Yup the coffee is fantastic. Especially if you want a tasty Hawaiian latte and banana bread!
I tried a hot desert flower (I may have the name wrong), which was a lovely blend of chocolate and coffee with a spicy pepper kick. Will definitely try more soon.
Bar, lounge, general store all rolled into one. Great place for a group, drinks after work (The Black Jewel an A+ drink). Building has tall ceilings, a relaxed atmosphere, and catches the breeze pretty well. Never bought anything from the general store, but the items look like quality, and Im sure the price matches it.
Love the items in this place. Their saint charms are delicate and pretty
One of the best coffee shops in all of San Diego. Super friendly staff and a wonderful environment to hang out in!
I really love Moniker General for a good meet-up spot. Theres good seating to work on a project and have an informal meeting, and there are good options of seat types including benches, barstools, and traditional chairs, so something comfortable for anyone. They even have a seating area with Adirondack chairs out front which is really nice in the warmer weather. They have nice signature coffees, and Ive had several delicious ones including a mint coffee and a golden latte. They are always delicious. It can also be a good point to meet before going to explore Liberty Station - theres a lot to see so powering up with Coffee or Tea beforehand can be a very wise call.
Cool outpost with fine goods for sale. Very unique. Coffee and bar as well, lots of space both outside and in. Rad concept.
Moniker sell coffees, teas and foods along with alcoholic beverages and other general merchandise and clothes. We had coffee and a dessert at this time. It was very good. The place got busier and busier as time went on. As customer you like to go to a place where many people are there. It shows the have a good product and service. I will go again.
Very cute coffee shop!Super helpful person taking orders.. The BARISTA was full off suggestions. They some really unique coffee types of drinks.
Great seating. Comfortable.
This is a great place to hangout with friends/family. The layout of the place is very nice and like that there are a good amount of seats. The baristas are friendly and overall a great place to grab a cup of coffee and also to work/study.
There is so much to love about the Bar at Moniker General. I was actually there for their grand opening night, which was a blast! They had a DJ and a barber giving out complementary cuts, who is now my guy. The atmosphere is awesome, the people are great and their drinks are craftily tasty. Highly recommend for a date night, casual drink or just to hang and work.
The curated clothings and tchotchkes selection is magnificent. Everything is always so charming, and the space is automatically inviting. The general store is under the same roof as Moniker Coffee, as well as a shared seating, and there is a very nice bathroom inside the store.
This place has hood cocktails, but is very odd. We walked in on a Saturday evening to have drinks before our dinner reservation at El Jardin and the place was full of people staring at their laptops. I felt like I should have been studying. They also have a coffee bar and a retail store with some good stuff and some really overpriced things ($75 candle). This place is weird, has a weird vibe, but good cocktails, didnt try the coffee.
This is a great place to study, get work done, or just relax. Theyll make you a tasty coffee, or an excellent cocktail. The tenders are friendly and ready to talk beverages with.
Some people rave about the coffee here. I am an espresso guy and their espressos and macchiatos were horrible. I tried them four times and they were consistently bad. The good things that saved the 2-star rating, were they serve other drinks too and the decor is very welcoming to both small and large groups.
Dont be put off thats its a coffee shop inside a hipster clothing store. The Viennese is perfect, even with almond milk. The drink has coffee (or espresso... My lack of knowledge probably makes one lose confidence in my review), cinnamon, and honey but its not too sweet. They do a good job blending everything together, as Ive had my fair share of similar drinks with the cinnamon and or honey concentrated at the bottom. The items in the store are cute... But $125 for a pillow?
Good beer, great coffee. There is only rich flavor in the coffee and no bitterness. They also do really pretty foam designs. I love this coffee place.
Great little cocktail bar/coffee shop/general store. My bartender was Scott when I went and he was fantastic.
Moniker General is the perfect spot to enjoy a coffee and get to work. With great WiFi and food/drink options, this was one of my favorite spots to call the office for a day!
Great coffee and atmosphere. One of my favorite coffee shop in San Diego
Really good coffee and amazing service (I had Kylie). It gets packed inside but theres relaxed seating outside. They need a few tables there but other than that a nice find.
Epitome of hipster. I havent tried the overpriced toast but the apple pie tea latte was NOT worth the price. It tastes like hot milk with a hint of cinnamon. Not particularly sweet at all. Probably just used an herbal apple spice tea from a bag. I havent tried the other drinks.
Great coffee, cool vibe, friendly staff. A fun place to hang out with friends!
We just ordered a bottle of wine and went to to the patio. There were tables and chairs and a bean bag toss. It is a nice ecclectic mix of coffee house, bar and retail store.
The store had a few cool items.
Beautiful shop and café. A variety of indoor and outdoor seating options. Very dog friendly.
Love this store and coffee shop!
Great study place! Wonderful coffee and also doubles as a cocktail bar.
Love this bar! Sgt. Peppers is a must order! Bartenders are friendly. Atmosphere is ridiculously awesome. Moniker just keeps impressing us.
Great drinks, great service and chill atmosphere.
Great vibes. Delicious food and beverages. Lots of natural light and open air spaces.
This bar is on point! Beautiful bar display as well as great seating options. Definitely recommend.
This Bar is so great. The staff is always friendly and the drinks are great. Its the perfect place to sit in the sun & have some Rose or even better frose.
Great place to work, interesting people. Staff are very nice.
In addition to the iced coffee being great, it was served in a chilled stainless steel cup which was really nice. Both indoors and out, its a nice space to come and work.
I love this coffee shop. The vibe is kool. The ppl r kool. I always stop everytime im in town. Thx for the coffee...
Fun place to work between meetings. Lots of space and tasty happy green tea
Cool small business items as well as a coffee or tea stop for studying.
The drinks are amazing at *any* time of day. Great aesthetics, and even better people!
Great coffee and an amazing place to work, full of outlets and consistent WIFI.
When I think about how I want to spend my day, I do it at Monkier General at least 5 days a week! No joke! Find me sipping a coldbrew thinking about what cocktail I want while wearing a carefully curated hat I picked up at the store. All diamonds In my book.
Very cool shared business space with hip decor, friendly bartenders, and yum cocktails.
We love the coffee and staff. Very unique place for a good coffee and chat with your friends.
Cool, artsy surroundings and damn good eats for any appetite
The coffee and sandwiches were yummy!
Love the the vibe in this place and the clothing range is on point too coffees good as well
Very spacious space with awesome coffee ! Also, great area with lots of nearby shops.
My new favorite coffee shop in San Diego. They offer a long black on their menu (many baristas have no clue what that is), have wifi & outlets, and the open space allows for a nice breeze even on warmer summer days.
Mad vibes, rad design. I loved how they were selling Verve at there coffee shop, just wish they had a selection of shoes.
The coffee shop side I would give a 5 star great coffee good service every single time!! But the retail side Ive been in 4-5 times (but never again) and they always have incompetent lazy young kids working the retail side (you can walk around for 10 minutes and they always just sit behind the register gabbing away)… They need some older experienced employees with much better retail experience on the retail side for sure... And I warning you and repeat dont ever buy anything if you may possibly return it. There customer service / return policy is terrible they wont take anything back even if it still has the tags on it and never been used!! They dont seem to get how making a customer happy even if it means taking a very small loss goes a long way!!!! MG wake up!! Companys like Lands End, REI, Athleta, Nordstrom, L.L. Bean get that concept and thats why there some of the biggest and best retailers!!... You could learn a lot from these companys MG if not you wont be around very long!
Even though I cant afford anything in here, I want everything. The employees are really nice also.
Wonderful urban trendy architecture, friendly staff, high speed WiFi, great Matcha Latte. What not to like?!
Love the store but was disappointed with coffee shop. Probably the worst chai latee in recent memory (very bland tasted like just milk). Will come back for merchandise but not for coffee or chai lattes
Nice find coffee, bathrooms and outside seating
Cool stuff
The best coffee and the nicest folks Ive ever met in all of San Diego.
Super kind, knowledgeable staff, especially on the retail side - plus the store has a great selection of cool menswear
Nice spot at liberty station. Worth the stop for a coffee
Friendly staff, unique environment and great cold brew
Try the ice salted caramel latte! Dog friendly!
Great vibe and coffee. The planes overhead can be quite loud, however.
Amazing place to meetup and study.
Sparse menu, dont plan to eat unless you like toast. Staff refused to close the doors even though it was very cold outside. Music was loud because they said it is a bar scene, though patrons were all sitting singly w laptops and earplugs. Sparse in every way
Beautiful place and great coffee
Best coffee shop in SD for remote work. Great coffee, great atmosphere, and great staff.
Awesome environment and great merchandise for sale.
Great place for everything!
Really cool vibes.
Solid Cocktails. Sgt. Peppers gimlet is all I think about.
What a pretentious joke
Nothing special.
In Liberty Station, we usually go to San Diego by bike and several times back we arrived twice we went to Moniker and other times to Stone Brewery, a nice place
