First time here, and I must say that I was thoroughly impressed. The vibes are immaculate, love the eclectic interior design, and the bar area gives off trendy speakeasy vibes. Also, we tried the Lavender Vanilla Latte, as well as the Lavender Matcha. I am a big matcha fan, and it was probably the best one I EVER tasted! Super smooth and creamy, and the lavender aroma added a really nice touch. Overall great experience!!
Lovely place! I thought service was nice. Food was okay, nothing to write home about… like coffee and seltzer? Gross. But I think the thing that makes this place cool is the vibe. Great place to get work done. Great place to meet up with friends and chill.
Brought the 2 littles because they are really into dinosaurs, while they were admiring the restaurant I looked around for a table for 3-4 & the 2 tables that had them were occupied. We sat on the other side of Ronald McDonald & the boys & I squeezed in & my hubby sat in a chair. We made it work!I had the lavender matcha 🍵 iced & it was delicious! My hubby had a drip coffee. He had breakfast sando & I had the mortadella mama both were delicious! Wasn’t too busy & once I was done eating we explored the restaurant & bathroom. Really awesome! I love quirky places!
Awesome special place. Fernando is so helpful and recommended some great places to try out all over the city. Great coffee and breakfast and one of the best mixologist iv seen. Every single guest near me said he was the best in downtown. (Ewan is his name I think? terrible at names. )The decor is unique and fun and the staff are so helpful and informative to travelers. Cant wait to comeback to San Diego so i can resist!
When they made us wait for our coffee which we received after we got our breakfast......Everything thing was made up for by the friendliness of the staff, the music, and the gift card that covered our meal. Great coffee, drinks, food, great ambiance. Still working out the kinks but CH (owners) are delivering post Covid magic!Food and drinks are amazing at all their other locations as well.
Went here for a late breakfast on the weekend. Really cool atmosphere and ambiance. Pretty eclectic and interesting. There are not many food options and they are alright but a great spot to grab coffee and meet up with friends.
Moderately friendly service. Avocado toast was average, nothing spectacular. The coffee was good. The overall atmosphere definitely worth a visit, very special.
Pretty good. Decent prices good coffee okay sandwich. Atmosphere for a Saturday morning was quite fantastic. Loved the vibe.
If you have been to Morning Glory in Little Italy, you will understand. Except this place is relaxed, no lines around the corner and less for the gram feeling. But still quirky and eclectic with the famous cockroach wallpaper.Had the lavender matcha latte and the buffanetta sandwich....so big...loved it. Good place to chill
Interesting vibe and unique decor. The coffee itself was not bad, certainly drinkable. The service was excellent and friendly. The barista seemed to know what she was doing and overall it was a very pleasant experience. If youre looking for a unique environment to have a decent espresso downtown, this is a great option. Overall satisfied with the experience.
The interior is so fun with unique dino deco and the coffee is great. I like the atmosphere and they gave some seating outside. The staff are also friendly so this was a great place to stop.
Good downtown location. Great atmosphere, chilled but sophisticated. Great vegan options and cold brew coffee.
The decorations are unique. Coffee is good 🤷🏽♂️
Whimsical. Good coffee. Cute breakfast options. Kind of a hidden gem in the middle of Downton SD. Aesthetic is Jurassic park meets classy thrift store, which doesnt make sense unless you go. (The secret fancy bathroom with a seat warmer and bidet is reason enough to go lol.)
Loved their atmosphere and music! I could see that they carefully designed this place. Great place to enjoy the weekend 🌴
Super eclectic spot that serves fantastic mixed adult beverages. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is *chefs kiss* and prices are reasonable considering the quality of everything. Safe and easy to get to location. Highly recommended.
Atmosphere was great but the kitchen was unexpected closed when we visited.
Really cool vibe in this spot. I love the mixture of golden oldies music, jungle plants and dinosaurs/Godzillas sprinkled about. The cherry on top was the raptor toilet paper dispenser...they really focused on ever aspect of the decorating process here.As for the coffee, the iced latte was pretty good, handily an improvement over a Starbucks. However a good James coffee would win in a comparison I think(and would cost you more as well lol).I also ordered the Breakfast sandwich #1...and it honestly tasted just like an Arbys sandwich. Literally identical flavor(and pretty much had the same appearance as well. If I come back I would avoid this, its too expensive for what you get. The breakfast taco my neighbor had looked way more appealing. Finally I also split a ferrero rocher croissant, which exemplified all that a croissant with filling should be; sweet, buttery and filled with delectable delight. It even had a little dino to top it off.5 stars for ambiance, 3 stars for the breakfast sandwich, and 4 for the coffee+croissant!
Their coffee is great. And... try their breakfast burrito. It is one of the best Ive ever had. Highly recommend!
Very cool vibe. Great drinks. Great prices. Will be back!
Great vibes, nitro cold brew, and food!
Great service, food and drinks. Cool place and very reasonably priced.
Eclectic coffee spot/bar with a chilled out, dinosaur infused, tropical lounge vibe. Nestled in the edge of the East Village on 9th Street, just outside the gaslamp district Invigatorium is a 30 second stroll up the block from Hotel Indigo, and worth the walk. 8oz cappuccino (fresh espresso + milk) probably the most drinkable coffee Ive ever had in the US. Blubbery danish pastry on the other hand was tough and bland. Seats are comfy, however the layout whilst it creates an intimate feeling, the poor use of space means the indoor seating (with individual tables) capacity taps out at around 20 pax. A further 10-12 stools surround the alcohol bar. Service is a bit of a mixed bag. Australians in San Diego looking for coffee, should definately put Invigatorium on the list of places to go.
The staves were quite courteous and kind. The coffee and pastries were delicious. The environment of the establishment was beautiful and peaceful.
Very cool decor! Nice place to stop & enjoy some pick me up juice. Parking can be tight (street or Ace parking locations.) Our waitress was super nice as well.
This place is so weird and awesome. I just went for a coffee and breakfast burrito to-go but i stayed to enjoy them because this spot is just a delight
Great spot for coffee or drinks. Fascinating space!
This place is great for morning or afternoon meetings with friends or business alike. They serve coffee, cocktails, and have a great assortment of cured meats, and cheese boards to choose from. Dont forget to wash it all down with a proper Negroni. Cheers 🥃
The coffee is amazing! From the Cold Brew to the drip coffee, everything here is done perfectly. Worth the drive/walk or whatever to get here for your first coffee in the morning. Staff is always friendly and make you feel welcome!
Best breakfast burrito I have found in the city. Drip coffee is solid too.
Absolutely loved this fun coffee shop. The music is awesome, vibe is super funky and modern, coffee is delicious, barista is cool and friendly, decor is very creative... and there’s plenty of different types of seating, both indoor and outdoor. It opens early, so you can get your coffee fix starting 7 am, and there’s a good choice of pastries, they looked a little too big and intimidating for me, so I didn’t try. Would love to have small size bites to go with coffee.
Love this place, friendly staff, laid back, a bit kitsch décorum
Another knock out from CH Projects! Amazing coffee from Modern Times (get the barrel aged espresso) and lots of Amaro/Campari based cocktails. They have a small patio to sit and enjoy your cocktail/coffee while people/dog watching. Didnt get to try any of the food but it looked good with a diverse selection. If Big Tony is there be sure to talk to him about their cocktails and meats. Friendly and informative staff. Id be here every day if I lived downtown.
Super friendly staff. Great drinks. Amazing hash browns.
Beautiful space, good food, delightful staff
That lavender vanilla latte tho!!!! So fire! Stopped in first time waiting for my hair cut appt and was enchanted with the atmosphere and service. Definitely coming bank for lunch!
We stopped here over the weekend on our way out of town because we walked by and the vibe plus the decor was super funky and chill. We ordered and sat down and my girls enjoyed all the different little artistic touches and we sipped our delicious cold brew.We ordered and unfortunately they had some heavy traffic before us and that threw the kitchen staff off and we ended up waiting a crazy amount of time for our breakfast burritos. They were very apologetic and offered us a discount on the meal which we didnt ask for but appreciated. The burrito was amazing! My twin 9 year olds are not the most adventurous eaters and they were bummed they could only eat 1 LOL.We will absolutely be back when we visit SD again. Highly encourage anyone to stop and enjoy the outdoor lounging area.
Don’t really know where to start. Creepy decorations. Waited for about an hour for an online order that was supposed to be ready when i got there. The place location is super weird. Don’t recommend it at all for starting your weekend and getting a coffee over there. The coffee sucked as well.
Amazing attention to detail on all fronts. The space is kitschy and comfortable. So much amazing art, textures, details that keep you looking around in every direction. There was a turntable playing a Freddy Mercury record while we visited for brunch. Ambiance was on point!Coffee is curated by Modern Times and they roast some of the best beans in SD. Had a nitro cold brew that was smooth and delicious.Ordered the #1 breakfast sando and it was filled with meats and cheeses inside a bakery bun. Everything sang. Extra points for the prosciutto addition. Kicked it to the next level of enjoyment.Wife ordered the fingerling potato dish with ham and lardon. They also had an abundance of cheese and garlic in there with a delicious spicy aoli and green onions. We checked out the famous bathroom too. The space was next level fancy with a computerized Japanese bidet and alcohol soap dispenser (dont drink it). They do lunch as well and after looking at that menu, I can say with great assurance, that we will be back soon.Dont miss this multi use spot. From cocktails, to coffee, to beer and food, this Italian cured meatery will not disappoint you.
We visited this place in hopes of getting some coffee, unfortunately they weren’t serving coffee in the afternoon 😢the place looks great!!
Great atmosphere, baristas are awesome!
Great restroom, the hand soap smells delicious and the toilet is completely automated with a remote control. The seat is even warmed. I love the restroom here, highly recommend. Coffee is ok too.
Burritos were super tasty and the place is beautiful!
With the masterminds at Consortium Holdings and wizards at Modern Times of course The Invigatorium will be a hit! Get your caffeine fix among the dinosaur chic decor. Fun, delicious and a coffee experience like no other! With breakfast sandwiches to come soon, and beer service as of today, there are plenty of options (including vegan galore!) Location is easy to get to, with parking pretty easily found. Right around many great East Village bars, restaurants and such.
Get there early for great breakfast tacos. They run out fast for good reason. Also, try the hot chocolate. It has a really great flavor.
Good drinks, good food, great service and atmosphere. What more could you want?
Went this morning for a delicious cup of nitro cold brew. Love the staff and the location. Now that they serve breakfast it’s a perfect neighborhood spot ❤️
Great spot for a quick breakfast, cocktail, or coffee. Staff is great and the vibe here is upbeat and fun. The meat and cheese board is delicious and the cocktails are delicious.
Fun place! Incredible, crazy decor. The coffee is not great, I couldn’t finish either the cold brew or the americano. However, their sandwiches are really nice, there’s a butcher that works with them so the meat is really good.
I didn’t know you could make breakfast tacos so small and sad for $4. My partner and I spent $12 on three tacos that were the size of taquitos with almost no egg. The decor is cool but the tacos were a massive rip off.
Great atmosphere, awesome cold brew coffee, and friendly staff
The decorations alone give this place 5 stars
Bourbon Barrel Aged Coffee is the best I have ever tasted. So incredibly smooth!
New favorite coffee shop. Vegan options and the pastries are vegan as well. After a certain time the pastries are complimentary! You must use their restroom its a whole experience
Coffee + dinosaurs. How much better can it get? Plus they will be adding creative drinks to the menu in the next few weeks.
Fabulous place to enjoy a coffee, beer or cocktail. Music to really enjoy with a great turntable. People are welcoming and wonderful. Ill definitely be back!
Great vibes! A nice place to chill sip on coffee and don’t forget the try the breakfast burrito
Was just here for breakfast and ended up walking out barely touching our food. Breakfast sandwich is literally a microwaved McMuffin for 6 dollars.... cortado similar to what you find in a Starbucks... avoid for breakfast.
The most chill place in East Village. Authentic negronis!! Great original bites and sandwiches
Beautiful place to chill while drinking some great coffee, personally I’m a fan of their nitro. Plus dinosaurs!
Greay swevice, great coffee, great atmosphere. This place is a must go!
Fun eclectic place. Neighborhood vibe
Great coffee and GREAT souffle pancakes !!
J & Tonys is the best place in the world
Place great and coffee awesome ✨
Love the t-rex!
