Courtesy liquors has just about every type of beer, liquor and mixer you could desire. It also has soft drinks, energy drinks and juice in plentiful supply. However, it seems that Courtesy Liquors, being so close in proximity to UC San Diego and many, many college-age people, panders to that kind of customer and, in turn, has very exorbitant prices for just about everything it offers.Also, Ive noticed that the employees often charge much more to some people, apparently because they expect all the customers to pay through the nose and to not point out the discrepancies. This has soured my opinion of the business, as the prices are not uniform for all customers. As a law school graduate, I can assure you that this is, obviously, a patently illegal practice, as well as it is disturbing.

The owner was extremely condescending when I inquired about the high price of a product. The prices are WAY too high, you can get the same products at a different store down the street for $4-5 cheaper. Dont waste your time.

Talk about price gouging during COVID. They dont post their prices - a bag of small chips - individual size $2.50 when I wanted to put back they said I had to buy. Price gouging - never shop there again

I love their accessibility, but the pricing is a bit much ... Im so sorry I know you need to make a living and you have to compete with your neighbors and Im sure they dont make it easy for you (Vons) .. but they get so congested that you are a GREAT option for those of us in a hurry!!! ... Can I ask for one thing though? Please, please? Can you at least make SURE that your ice cream is actually in good shape? My third time now, buying ice cream that has obviously been allowed to melt and then be re-frozen ... YUK!! I keep hoping youll figure it out!!! Not buying any more until you do!!

Not sure about alcohol, but they have the best deals for juul pods and other vaping needs. Hooray!

Pretty decent selection of whiskeys, but seems overpriced.

This is my go-to liquor store in University City. Great, extensive selection of whiskeys, including scotch, and cheaper than other area liquor stores. Mass-produced brands (like Jameson) are cheaper than Vons next door, even when Vons runs volume discounts (e.g. buy 6 and get $2-$3 off per bottle).

My wife took her co-workers to eat at Ahi Sushi for lunch. They drove together and parked in front of this liquor store. They park in the space next to the two 15-minute only parking spaces.When they returned to their car, the employee or owner of this liquor store yelled and curse them off, You fu... Stupid People. Not sure if the parking spaces right in front of his liquor store only belong to him. It was a big shopping plaza, thought any parking space was for all of the patrons who shop/eat in the entire plaza.I will have to contact the plaza owner to report this kind of behavior. This kind of attitude doesnt belong in UTC and its bad business for the entire business tenants at this plaza.

Went to get a 40oz beer after work and it was 5 dollars out the door!!! For a cheap 40 that costs 3.50 anywhere else at the most! Laughed and went next door to vons instead. will obviously never return
