Tyler is AWESOME. Great guy to help you pick the best board for your needs. He has a deep fundamental knowledge of the craft of surfing and shaping. Bought a sick 68 x 3 x 22 and absolutely love it. The shop to go to Im SD!
Called with some questions about a used board. Best customer service you could ask for. Incredibly nice guy answered the phone. 10/10
The owner, Tyler, really knows his stuff!! He helped me pick which surfboard was best for my style and skill, even if it wasn’t the most expensive one! There are some really cool colors and shapes. I’m definitely going back next time I need a new board; I have already recommended him to people!
I just bought a 96 noserider Im stoked out. Thanks for meeting me at the shop and taking me on a tour of the shop. So many boards its my new place to buy boards great deal great boards Im impressed
I am writing this review of Solana Surfboards and the owner Tyler. First off, I have read through the reviews and for the most part I fully agree with what has been written previously. However, there is one negative review that should be read with some skepticism. Tyler, first off is a solid individual with heart and soul who pays attention to his customer’s needs. Tyler is able to listen to what a customer wants and is looking for and makes sure that is what the customer gets. My son, for Christmas was surprised with a 7’2” Fun Board. The best Christmas gift he ever received. I wish I could describe the look on his face when we walked into Solana Surfboards and he realized he was getting a new board, it was simply amazing and the stoke was defiantly high. When dealing with me, I am very detailed orientated and a communicate more than is necessary, which can be challenging for some, but not T. Tyler was always patient and understanding when working with me and trying to find the right board for my boy, he has Sol. From my perspective, to be a great surf shop owner one needs to have sol, as anyone can own a surf shop. I have been to several surf shops that I would never step foot in again, because they were inattentive and condescending. The Solana Surfboard product itself is fantastic, worth a consideration! My boy is a intermediate surfer and has had the time of his life since receiving his new board. He is able to paddle his board and get into most any wave he attempts to catch. The product is solid and his board withstands the beating of waves and the pound of an 11 year boy. When searching for a new board for myself I will be sure to head back to Solana Surfboards, contact Tyler and find one that is a good fit for myself.I have been in the customer service, surf, skiing and restaurant and industry for a number of years. Most of the places I have worked have been solid business and establishments. However, in every industry there are always those who will work hard to find something or someone to complain about. Those are usually not worth listening to when all other reports are positive. I see this all the time. This is the reason I encourage you to reach out and contact Solana Surfboards to see if Tyler may be able to deliver the stoked he did for us. I look forward to working with him again the future encourage you to see what he has to offer.
Just bought one of these boards a couple of days ago. These are by far the best surfboards out there for the money. In addition, Tyler was very knowledgeable and helpful in choosing a board.
I own three Solana Surfboards and I love every one of them. I tried learning on other boards but the variety of shapes that Solana provides really helped me progress and find my strengths. The owner Tyler has been EXTREMELY informative. I’ve had the opportunity to pick Tyler’s brain a lot on shapes and fins with nothing but patience and a well of knowledge in return. I suggest this brand to everyone in every stage and skill level.
Good quality boards for a reasonable price. I got a longboard for the summer, and this thing is great all around for turns, and while not exactly a noserider, you can still get up there and it can catch anything.Ive never written a Google review before, but felt compelled to after Tyler showed incredible class. Without going into details, my board was destroyed due to a defect in the board. Instead of arguing or making excuses, Tyler did everything he could to make the situation right, and gave me a brand new replacement board. It is rare to see this kind of ownership and customer service. Tyler is genuinely a good dude running a good business.
Got my first board from here and it rides like a dream. Prices are super fair
Tyler is a super genuine guy and will always come back to buy our boards from him. Dropped off my boyfriend’s board that he bought from Tyler in 2010 to get resealed. His Solana board has been his main board for 8 years, and with Tyler’s fix he will keep riding it till we buy his next Solana board! Super good company that has great customer service :)
Tyler is now the only owner at Solana and he is awesome! My husband and I have several solana boards and they are prime. Hes got tons of options, beginner or advanced it doesnt matter. Any time weve given him a call to stop by hes been available and always given great service.
Bought a surfboard for my son and a SUP surfboard for myself. I have nothing but good things to say about Tony and Tyler. They met with me on an appointment and worked with me to find the right board for what I was looking for. They were very friendly and not pushy in terms of trying to put me in a board and make a sale. Their service has been great after the sale. I recently called and asked about ideas for fixing a ding I put in the SUP board. They gave me advice and suggested products that would work well with my problem. Finally, I broke my paddle and Tony and Tyler again worked with me to get a solution and get me back in the water. These guys work hard with customer service and Im sold on Solana boards. With service like this, especially after the sale, Ill be a return customer. Thanks and get out in the water,Eric
The standard boards are pop-outs from China, which is not really a problem for me. I had to order a board that was not in stock, and was told it could take anywhere from six to eight weeks, even ten weeks at the outside. I ordered the board in May, and now Ive learned that it wont be available until August or September, which means a wait of four to five months for a board. Im pretty disappointed. I would recommend buying only boards they have available in the shop from this company. I bought another board so that I can surf until the Solana board arrives.
Emailed what we were looking for, made an appointment to check out the available stock and super stoked on the quality and performance.Theyre a small operation, so if you email them, give them a day or so to get back to you, but they WILL get back to you.
You get what you paid for. Cheap popout boards made in China or Thailand. Not the best quality board.
