My mom went in for a simple oil change, shes always kept up on the maintenance on the car, 80k mi. 2015 Chrysler 200s, She had a $40 oil change coupon. They told her that they could not change her oil because she had an oil leak. She has never seen any oil leaks anywhere. She then asked if they can show her the leak to confirm, they could not do that and the car would need to be kept overnight to find the leak and be repaired. What a way to take advantage of a female. The repair would cost $200 then they would be able to change her oil. She refused their service, topped off the oil herself and took it to the place she has warranty, it turns out she has absolutely zero leaks. Never going near this place again.

Workers are nice here but. Don’t come here if you need a flat tire fixed they lie to you and say you need while a new tire with out checking the tire and charge you $120 when all I needed was to patch it up and I could of been on my way. I had to wait more than an hour for the worker to came back from lunch for service

These guys who work at this pep boys location refused to Honor the terms of the warranty. Very disappointed with their service. I bought a Battery for my 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid from Pep boys van nuys location about two years ago. In their payment Invoice it mentions 30 months free replacement for the champion battery. And recently I had issues with starting my car for like 2-3 days. I figured that it’s the battery.Since I always go to Honda for service I Went there to get a battery check and they clearly mentioned that battery isn’t good and also gave me a paper receipt saying the battery need to be replaced. But when I go to pep boys and check the battery they said their car battery testing machine shows the battery is good so they can’t replace it for free. I told them that without using Car jump starter I couldn’t start the car. Even before I go there I had to use the Jump starter. The first day when I went there one of the guy said comeback again if it happens but they still refused to do it for free even after seeing that car won’t start. what a waste. 2nd day the guy told Me that it must be something else, maybe the hybrid battery. But after I replaced the battery from Honda the same day the issue was fixed and the car started perfectly. Has to be worst Pep boys service location I have been to. Since I live in San Fernando I didn’t want to go to Van nuys pep boys. I will never ever Buy Car batteries from Pep boys again.

First, poor time management, everytime I make an oil change appointment the mechanics began the service 2 hours later plus the hours service. Last time, I made an appointment at 12 pm, and I left the shop at 3 pm. This is every time and not just once. Whats the point of making an appointment if they dont keep track of time.Second, this was my last straw, this happen not once but twice. I recently made an appointment, and I received a text confirming my appointment. The next day the shop was closed, and I was not notified no phone call or text about the shop closed. I could of saved the drive and my time. I called the shop again to reschedule another appointment and the same thing happened the shop was close again. Why would they give me a time and day knowing the shop is close. Again, no phone call or text postponing my appointment for the second time.After, I was in need of a new shop, and I took my Benz to a European Auto shop. Im glad I found them because Pep boys installed a cheap non European oil filter in my Benz. The European shop right away notice and put a real European oil filter on my Benz. You have to keep every part European on European cars. Avoid Pep boys because they will put a cheap oil filter!!Poor time management and poor service. Lost a customer of 5 years.

Nice to find some help finally came here because I was looking for a part for my Dodge Durango. After about two days of searching for a radiator drain plug I ran into Jose here at Pep Boys he actually took the time out to come help me measure the part that I needed and help me find a substitute that fit just perfectly.. I went to O’Reillys and other auto parts stores they didn’t even take the time to come from behind the counter and try and help.. So thank you Jose!! Much appreciated!

If you want to come here and get good service I would look for Jose ONLY ! he knows what hes doing.Yesterday we came in and this guy name Luis said he was manager when the other wasnt in, his demeanor was so unprofessional, his behavior was so uncalled for and his professionalism was not presented. I wouldnt come in asking for service if hes there. No respect for his customers nor for his employees. He had literally disrespected a female worker infront of my husband. He acted like he didnt know what he was looking for with his bad attitude. Honestly this guy Luis needs more training cause he seriously doesnt know how to do his job. It made both me & my husband infuriated with his bad attitude and his unprofessional behavior.

Walked in for break pads..Very helpful and polite when I first arrived and took my car in right away. I dropped it off so they can take their time. I was called within 20 mins and was told estimate charges. Manager Cesar is very nice and courteous. He was very helpful after i requested to speak to him since I felt the other employee was new and was unable to assist in my request to pull up my previous brake pads warranty. I was content with the service provided..only probkem is that not all pep boys computers are linked together and they couldnt pull up my warranty on the breaks and obviously I dont carry receipts in my purse. So cesar was nice enough to call the Palmdale location to get the needed info so that I may get credit for the brake pads as previously purchased and told at Palmdale. Also, they forgot to do my oil change as requested when I walked in but thats ok. We all make mistakes.

Poor garage staff. Took my vehicle, which was equipped with tires purchased at this location, to fill with air. The tires were well below proper levels and asked an employee to fill them please... He hands me the hose and gestures as if he doesnt understand English, so I asked in Spanish. Still walked away. I refuse to be treated as though I am a piece of trash. With so many auto parts stores to choose from, why would I waste my time coming here ever again? Its an easy choice for me to avoid this place. Business is not guaranteed and this place need to reevaluate their place in their respective markets.

The worst customer service ever!! I went there to buy a tire a few days ago.First, no one came out to greet me. I had to find someone myself for assistance. The individual simply gave me a paper to fill out and collected it. 20 minutes later someone else came out and ask me if anyone had spoken to me about pricing or what kind of tire I was looking for. When I told him no, he simply asked me for the make and model of the car, told me what they had, what it would cost, and that the wait would be an hour to an hour and a half. He didnt even look at the sheet that I had filled out before . After about an hour, the first individual came back out to charge me and gave me a price which was about $20 higher then the original price quoted. I thought the price difference was tax so I simply paid it. He then said the car ready and the keys were in the car. There was no other conversation from this individual at any point in time; not a Thank You for doing business with us, Please come again, or anything. (Obviously, this place has no time for any type of true customer service.) When I went outside it wasnt ready like you said. They were still working on the car. As I was waiting, I reviewed the paperwork and found that they had charged me for wheel balancing which was not included in the original price quoted. What was I to do? The work was already done. After waiting another 20 minutes the worker finally gave me the keys. When I looked in the car, the spare tire was not even put away. They just stuck it in the backseat of the car instead of putting it the tire storage compartment. When I asked why didnt he put it back in the compartment, he simply handed me the keys. Still ....no conversation. I mean what are these guys.... mute? I had to put the donut back myself. He didnt even offer to help. I dont know if everyone in this store is like this but I dealt with three different people. I probably would have had better conversation the wall. I will never go back to the store again.

I work and drive for Lyft, as a driver we are required to do a California vehicle inspection. DONT USE PEP BoyZ THEDONT KNOW THE HANDS FROM THEY FEET, SUCH BAD SERVICE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL INSPECTION. JUST TRY AND SELL YOU STUFF YOU DONT NEED. Beware they will fail your inspection.

I made an appointment for 11:30 am for tires I bought on line. I came back 45 minutes later and the car was not worked on. 12:15 I went to Sergio the Manager and asked how long. He told me I needed other work done. I declined and walked away.10 minutes later, after 55 minutes, I went back and asked about the car. The tires werent even pulled from the racks yet the manager smirked and said Ill get right on it my bad boss Ill take care of you and I told him no because you would have been finished with my car instead of making me wait 55 minutes while you didNothing!Bad attitude! Poor Customer service!

I had just gotten a flat tire, AAA came and put on my spare told me my tire can be patched. Went to Just Tires where I have a basic warranty on my tires for repair and they pretty much lied to my face and said it cant be fixed, $120 for a tire replacement. So I went over to Pep Boys, and they took a look and said it could be plugged and would be fine. $20. I was given a very honest opinion and good service by a mechanic there named Troy. Ask for him.

Communication is bad. Called about there loaner tool program and asked for a specific tool. Gentleman who took my call asked another person who said they had it. When i arrived the gentleman man i spoke to again asked another person about it and now that i was here they didnt have yhat tool to loan. A Shorter-Man with Beard, Latino who wears overalls is VERY Knowledgeable with the enormous inventory of parts and accessory parts. I would rate him an Expert in the field of knowing What and Where you need for your Truck/Car! I have no exp. with their Service, but I did notice it was busy. I would Be Mindful and cautious with Specific Engine Repairs. Servicing the vehicle under preventative maintenance for tires, shocks, and oil changes is Pep Boys favor.

A horribly run shop. DO NOT come here for your car repairs. I came here once to have my brakes looked at. Told me it would be over $600 for a 2005 Toyota Highlander. I said no to that price. Manager said if I wanted to leave they would have to tow me (legally). They were not bad enough for me to come there. I had no choice but use their scam of a tow service ($50 to go 2 miles). Shame on Pep Boys in San Fernando. Never come here. Just look at their Yelp reviews too. Your odds of getting decent service here will be low. Dont take a chance.Edit. Theyre begging their past customers on here to fix their reviews on Google. Every bad review on here has a reply from a rep at Pep Boys. Shame on Pep Boys in San Fernando.

I knew I that I had a screw in my tire. I asked if I could get it fixed. They said not today maybe tomorrow. I asked if they could put air in my tire today they said yes. The people on the inside were good to me. I drove to the service bay and waited for someone to help me. There a mechanic working on a car when I drove up. He saw me drive up. He didnt ask me if I needed any help. 5 mins went by & someone came out from inside the store. He worked on another car in the bay. Another 5 minutes went by which is a total of 10 mins now & he finally asked me if I needed any help. I told him that I needed air in my tire. Finely I got help. I said that I was going to report the man working on the car when I first drove up & he didnt help me. When I drove away they both laughed at me. No one likes to be laughed at. I will never go back to Pep Boys again. They have 10 bays with only 2 mechanics. I remember when Pep Boys opened this store. When they first opened they had cars in every stall with someone working on every car. As you can see there service is terrible. When people dont like their service they will go some place else.

Worse pep boys shop ever!!!. I went there because the ac of my car doesnt work correctly and they fixed it 1 month and half ago, the blower they installed it doesnt work as the one from factory, and it takes about a 10 minutes for the air to star coming out cold, I called and complained about it, they said they did the job and nothing they can do about it, I said ok and I didnt dispute any charges with my bank, 2 days ago the ac of my car stared to act weird hot air come out sometimes and sometimes it work fine,I toke my car back to get it check as I still have warranty, I left my car for a day and the next day they call me and said that nothing was wrong with my ac, and that I can pick up my car so I went there and I was upset that they dont keep there promise or warranty, so the guy takes me to the cashier and tell me that I own him 50 dollars for inspection and I was like what you didnt tell me,he said that they did an inspection at the moment I said Im not paying for that (we all know that they were trying to rip me off as by the state of California they have to give me a work order or written estimate and I have to sign it, but nobody told me of any charges. More because Im bringing it for warranty, at this point i will never stop at this store and I will tell you that this is the worse pep boys store in the valley, dont lost your time and go somewhere else or another pep boys store.

I made an appointment to get an oil change yesterday at 9 AM. I get there and they told me it would be a 30 - 45 minute wait. I asked the guy what was the point of making an appointment if I have to wait. He just looked at me and couldnt give me an answer. I can understand if I need to wait 10 - 15 minutes but not 30 - 45 minutes when I made an appointment. I was not going to wait 30 - 45 minutes so I left. This was not the 1st time that this has happened. I will never go back to Pep-Boys!

Over the past year Ive taken six cars here for tire services, alignments etc. and this place hasnt disappointed me until today. The new service technician or lead Anthony was extremely useless. I asked to have my tires simply balanced and rotated. He estimated waiting time was 30-40 minutes. An hour later after being skipped by several cars that arrived later, I question him he stated about another half hour. There was two other service technicians sitting around while I waited meanwhile the service lead Anthony smoked and sat around on his phone and could care less about my time. I had to ask another technician for the service manager and he stated he is out today since Anthony was still playing on his phone. I insisted to take my keys back and left without any service.I am extremely disappointed with the service and professionalism here and this will be the last time I service any car here period.

Went to the shop to ask a question and the two techs back there only looked at me and never acknowledged me being there, they just talked and laughed with some customer they hung out with for a couple of minutes. Then I walked into the store and was never acknowledged by either of the two cashiers who joked with one another. Came in early as the store open for business at 7:30am for my car to get an oil change, just to find out theres only one employee who is working at the time. When I asked what time does the service department open, the reply was “the guy is supposed to be here”. After waiting for an hour, I left and took my business somewhere else.This place is UNDERSTAFFED and a bit run down. If you don’t believe me, swing by and check out their waiting area.

This paper the San Fernando has been up ever since I was little boy it used to be located on Brand Boulevard but has moved to Truman. I can remember as a little kid see the three big heads of Manny,Moe and Jack. Disney world vacation is much bigger than the old one. Tire service and garages.

This is particularly my fault. I keep coming here and getting the same horrible service. I took in an Enterprise van to get serviced there and there has been drama the last 4 times Ive taken it there. The worst was when they stripped the screw from an oil change and I was leaking oil. When I brought it back they gave some excuse about a worn out gasket. Didnt end there though. It was still leaking. Had to take it to one in Palmdale. They said the screw that was in there was the wrong size. Dont know who to trust but they fixed it. There are other horror stories for the Sylmar location but I dont have enough time or space to list it, but Ive learned my lesson with waiting 1hr to approve windshields wippers to be changed out. Called Enterprise and they say they havent received a request from Pep boys. When I tried to put them on the phone together the pep boys rep said its done now and refused to talk to Enterprise. Again its hard to believe Pep boys with their record.Correction: this is San Fernando Location and no need to send my info in since I wont be going back. The service wont change over night and as I said before Ive learned my lesson of giving chances after ending up with the same result.

5 hours to replace A brake light and a battery only to be told that something is draining my battery, but they dont know what it is. Staff is snobby, and I had to explain twice what I needed to have done for both of my cars. Warranty on the tires I purchased less than 6 months ago was not honored because it was not in the system, once the tire was fixed a second Clerk told us that there was no service performed prior... Cleanliness was subpar at best. Speaking with the mechanic he seemed to hate his job, and went on his break twice during my 5 hour stay. I ended up paying for a battery replacement that was unnecessary since there was an issue that drained my battery. Upon visiting another mechanic afterwards, it was determined that my passenger door lock causes my alarm to be triggered every few minutes. Extremely dissatisfied with Service and the fact that I was charged for a service that was unnecessary since the issue was with a lock and aleam. Z-

Never have I dealt with such a business in my life. I order 2 tyres online, made an appointment for 2 days later so they could get the tyre to the store. I go in at my appointment time, 10am, and wait 15 minutes (no one in the queue just me). Then I say I have a 10am appontment and I purchased the tyres online to be installed today. He checks the computer and says that they do not have the tyres I ordered in stock. So I cancel the order and they didnt even apologize. They didnt care at all. If a place of business cannot even fulfil a simple tyre order, what are they good for?! I am still shocked at the pure incompetence and lack of caring about their customers. Never again Pep Boys.
