I have an AMG C63-S thats been tuned and serviced from Carbahn. The shop is amazing, the staff and mechanics are rockstars. I originally came to Carbahn just for a tune, which kept my car feeling as smooth as stock while also bringing out the performance its always had from underneath. Then when I had some mods done from another shop that didnt go well, Carbahn took me in at the drop of a dime and got my car sorted. The prices they charged werent the cheapest, but I left with my car feeling confident again and havent had any issues since. The best thing you pay for at Carbahn is Peace of Mind, and theres nothing more valuable than that.
I had 2 vehicles fitted with a stage 1 CarBahn Tune and one of them fitted with high performance suspension parts. The tune took my 2020 BMW X7 M50i to 692 Horsepower and 702 pounds of torque with no top end governor. It is now an animal. 0-60 in under 4 seconds with a heavy vehicle is amazing. I am at mid 3 seconds in my family vehicle now (the X7). In my other car, the 2020 M8 Competition Convertible, the Stage 1 tune took me to 783 Horsepower and 754 pounds of torque. Mid 2 seconds 0-60, and no top end governor. Suspension parts make the car stick to the road like glue. No oversteer and incredible plant off the line. I had Steve Dinan tunes in my 2014 M6 and 2012 650i before he created the CarBahn Company. This guy is a genius. Even though you can feel the power and hear the difference in exhaust, with these tunes the driving is normal until you hit down on the gas. 783 horses is totally controllable and easy to drive around town. Then hit the M1 or M2 button and the beast is unleashed. I know he does Benz now too. If you have ever considered a tune, this is the one. The best, bar none.
Steve Dinan, Chris MacNaughton, and their crew are the best of the best at what they do. I have a 2019 BMW M2 Competition and they have given it so much love. They have helped me transform it from a stock M car to a track ready rocket, keeping me safe while tantalizing all of my senses and emotions. My car sounds and feels so much better now and most importantly goes so much faster. Incredible response and service, Chris is the best to work with. No problem they cant solve! Cant say enough good things about this shop and team. Highly recommended for all services they offer, including regular maintenance.
Very knowledgeable folks and fair prices. Chris (service manager) will take care of you in an honest and straightforward way you will not find anywhere else. I would highly recommend.
Great help. Friendly people. Left with 200 more hp.
I’ve spent the last year working with Steve’s team to modify my M5, outstanding improvements, great attention to detail and engineering. A top notch experience, I highly recommend the Carbahn team for your needs.
Scott is very knowledgeable and technical. I appreciate the fact he breaks down the issue and the plan for the resolution. Kathy works in the front office is happy to cater to all your needs. Overall I am very please with the work. Clean shop, great team. I will be coming back soon to complete the much needed work on my E70.

Fantastic work done quickly and with amazing customer service. I give them my highest recommendation.
Ive been a customer of Steve Dinans shop for many years, and the quality of service is always outstanding. Their expertise, especially related to BMW M cars, is a huge value. I always recommend them.
Better and less expensive than the dealership. The Dinan legacy speaks for itself in terms of the high quality of work that Steve Dinan demands of his team. The shop is a very nice and enjoyable place to be. The team there treats customers like we are important. Far better than I am treated at any dealer auto shop. They moved in Feb 2017 to new location which is a bit further away, but it is worth the drive for me.
Customer service is amazing. I called in and the technician was very helpful and knowledgeable HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Staff is very helpful and polite.
These guys are awesome. They know their stuff, do great work, and only do the work that you okay in advance. Very fair for the money.
Ive had a really good experience at Carbahn thus far. They are probably the best dealer alternative. Yes their pricing might be slightly higher than other independent shops but they are definitely less than dealer cost plus you get the same parts warranty that you would get from the dealer. And the best bit is Steve Dinan is around there too and is able to provide any expert opinions you need on any projects you maybe working on.
It is great to have your BMW serviced at a place where you can speak to the technician and are treated like a friend. Plus, BMW honors the warranty on work by Dinan! Scott is great to work with and the technicians are super approachable.
Beyond amazing facility, great leadership team and such a fun line of work!!!
Fantastic car repair shop.Guys are extremely professional and do a great job. Recommended!
Knowledgeable folks who are happy to be transparent. Unusual these days. The technical depth on the site is rare.
Awesome experience, Scott was marvelous. Kathy was friendly and accommodating. All of my expectations were exceeded. I tell every BMW owner about all my superlative experiences with all my BMWs at Dinan Campbell.
Expert service as always!Professional and polite customer service, timely work, pure expertise.Would recommend to all BMW car owners for ANY after market or after warranty car work.5 star rating for sure!
Great customer service, very welcoming. You definitely get what you pay for.
Got dinan exhaust installed. carried out the work very professionally and offered drop-off/pickup, no complaints!
Avoid this place. Used to be dinan, but sold everything except service. Owner told me business was ruff.Last time I went there service writer tells me they have to see what the problem was and would have to charge the hourly rate for diagnoses, but not over an hour.Wow, looking at my car while the mechanic was looking at it, he was only near the car about 15 minutes. When an hour went by I asked the SW whats up with my car. How bout that, it took exactly one hour. Howbout that?Funny though, SW tells me the problem is common and the mech knew what the problem was when he lifted the trunk lid and the lights in the trunk flickered. (Guess they needed my money more than I did.) I have the distinct impression carbahn, dinan or whatever you call them, ripped me off.OK, how much to fix a simple wire????$1,600.00.I will never return and suggest you find someplace else to get your car repaired.
I usually take my BMW to Dinan since I purchased it about 10 years ago. I have had a bad experience with a BMW dealership which will now only have my recall service. I now have even more trust and respect for Dinan.
OVERLAPS HOURS & STACKS INSPECTION FEESThe Summary..... I was looking for a repair shop that has lots of experience with BMW performance cars, better pricing than the dealership, and honest when it comes to labor and replacement parts. When I came to Carbahn Autoworks I thought this was the spot - the shop is very clean and owned by Dinan. What I came to find out was they only hit 1 out of the 3 qualities I was looking for, and that was they were experienced in BMW performance cars. Its strange because they claim to be 10-20% less than a dealer. The Beginning..... I brought my car (2011 BMW 550xi) to Carbahn Autoworks because there was a problem with my right axle (clicking sound when turning), my check engine light just came on, I also noticed a little bit of black smoke from the exhaust, and some coolant residue on the coolant turbo lines. Mike (Ill get into him a little later) said that I will be charged $199 to inspect axle, coolant lines, and black smoke then I would be charged another $180 for check engine light. I thought both of those kind of all go together, and why would they not have a simple flat fee to see whats wrong with the car? Mike then said the fees are added into the work if the repairs get done to the vehicle, so I agreed to have them look at my vehicle. The Quote...... I received a quote within 48 hours and saw a bill of $12,552 (um red flag?) so as a person that hasnt won the lottery (yet) I decided to take a look at the labor charges and parts. After my research I found the parts where pretty close to standard (about a 5% difference in price), but the labor fees were so ludicrous ($6,579) that I reached out to other BMW repair shops for quotes, and the BMW dealership. What I found is that Carbuhn is overlapping their labor fees as if each part is installed individually. I had quotes from 2 repair shops and the dealer one was $2,124 in labor fees, the other was $2,985, and the dealership was $3,850.The Phone Call..... I made the phone call to figure out what the hell is going on because this doesnt look right. I brought up the overlapping hours and Mike said their computers cant adjust the hours on the quote (so youre telling me a company that builds $35,000 engines and upgrades ECU performance doesnt have a CRM that modifies overlapping hours? Are you f--king high?) I then asked about only fixing the parts that needed to be fixed - I had two bad injectors, two coolant hoses leaking, but they wanted to all eight injectors and coolant hoses. I asked him that I dont want to pay for all eight of everything I just want the repairs on the parts that need to be fixed. Mike told me they dont work that way and he cannot change the quote, I thought that was ridiculous said Im picking up my car tomorrow. The Pickup..... I go to get my car and explain to Mike that this doesnt seem right that Im paying $380 to inspect my car and then be over priced for labor work. I also discussed that I shouldnt have to pay for parts they want to fix - I should only pay for the parts that need to be fixed. He then said (while he was next to someone else of course) that he couldnt edit my quote he needs to make me a new quote. Is this a joke??? Why would he tell me on the phone that he cant edit the quote, will only replace all parts not bad part, and cant adjust overlapping fees, but then say when Im there with someone else next to him that he can make a new quote? Is this real?? Im I Will Smith in the movie iRobot and have to ask that dead guys hologram the right questions in order to solve my mystery? I know we are in Silicon Valley and the way Mike responds to you might make you think he could truly be an Android, but seriously....?My Thoughts.... Thanks for the $380 diet coke, licorice, and getting to talk to an Android (Mike) for the first time, but if I want to get entrapped and price gouged Ill leave that up to the government and Oil Companies. I wouldnt trust these reviews on Yelp - I bet most of them are just friends of the people who work there.
Dinan always a leader in performance and presentation, first class facility
The best BMW service in Mountain View.
Very fast polite service. Very clean shopp
Dinan stage 2 upgrade is awesome!
Competent work, fair pricing, honest evaluations, a far cry from the deceits of dealership service rackets.
Its a very good experience.
Great service
