VAMA designs was the only shop who was able to take our custom bridal party order on a such a short notice during a pandemic when India was under lockdown. I worked with Vaijayanti from the beginning to end and she made the entire process stress-free even though I was 3000 miles away on a different time zone. I wanted a sari for all the bridesmaids and a jacket for all the groomsmen that would go with our wedding outfit and theme. I showed her our colors and let her pick the shades for bridal party and they turned out beautiful. Pictures dont do justice to the quality of her work. Since India was in a lockdown, she had her team in South India working to source fabric then her team in Delhi working to stitch the fabric together and then finally her team in Mumbai who finalized and quality checked the order to ship it to me. It takes a tremendous amount of coordination to do this all under a short timeline and deliver a great quality product. Thank you so so much for all your hard work! You and your team made our day!

Not to be dramatic, but Vijayanti SAVED my wedding! I was working with a boutique in India to custom-make my sangeet and reception lehengas. Due to COVID resourcing issues, the boutique cancelled my order one week before they were supposed to ship my order to California. My wedding was in just a few weeks. Thats when I found VAMA boutique. I rushed over the same day. Throughout the process, Vijayanti was so patient with me. She listened to the style of lehengas that I had in mind, and found the perfect ones for me off the rack at VAMA. I tried on a few outfits and immediately started feeling like a princess. Vijayanti was so kind to me throughout the process; she even helped pick out the matching accessories for both my outfits. She also arranged for the tailor to stitch in pockets to my sangeet lehenga! After much search for my bridal outfit my mom and I decided to fly from Ohio to visit Vama Designs and we were not disappointed. They were super accommodating and opened their store to us before their normal hours to let us look through and browse without the crowd and answered all our questions and took the time to help us. I had a minor change I wanted for the duppata and shorten the lehenga and they fixed everything in time for us to take it back with us the following day. Their timing was impeccable and I couldnt have asked for better service. I also asked them to custom make the bridesmaids outfits and they did an outstanding job. They delivered everything in time, and were very responsive every time I reached out to them for an update. Will definitely be buying from them again.

She is wonderful to work with, and has great taste in order to help you customize your perfect look. I ended up buying all 4 of my event outfits for my wedding from VAMA Designs (Mehndi, Sangeet, Wedding, and Reception). I even liked her mens selection, so I bought my husbands outfit for the Mehndi event from VAMA too, which gave us a complementary, matching look that wasnt over the top. In fact, those two outfits have received the most compliments for our overall couple look throughout the entire wedding week. Vaijayanti has a broad selection of different styles in her home studio, and she is flexible with you to customize the base design to your own liking. I customized each outfit that I bought, mixing and matching different styles, designs, colors, and fabric from different outfits, and everything came out absolutely stunning. I will luckily never have to look back on my wedding week and feel that I did not like what I was wearing or how I looked. Vaijayanti travels to India to get your custom outfit made, FaceTimes with you, and communicates effectively over WhatsApp and email, in order to get everything done in a timely manner. Her tailor that finishes up the final fitting in San Jose is also great to work with. Vaijayanti does not complain about the work, as I could feel that she only wanted to help me look perfect on my big day. I would 100% recommend her to any bride looking to have a classy, gorgeous, and grand bridal look. While her prices may be steeper than the other Indian stores you might visit around the Bay Area, her quality, dress selection, and warm customer service is indeed worth the extra bill. Highly recommend especially since Vaijayanti handles all the communication for your designs and even goes to India herself to oversee the outfits being made. With Covid she couldn’t go to India for my custom wedding blouse and the color is a little off, and she had them create a new one right away to make sure my wedding dress was the perfect color for me! My reception lehenga was custom made where I picked the color of one dress, blouse of a second, and design of a third. It came out exactly how I asked for it and is soooo beautiful. She takes bridal designs seriously and really cares that her brides are 100% happy with the final outcome.I searched high and low in California and Canada to find the outfits for my engagement and wedding - but I had a tough time landing on the perfect outfit for my wedding ceremony. I visited her shop and tried on a stunning gown which I liked, but which was in the color navy. Right away, the owner offered to customize the gown in my preferred color and with any other modifications I had in mind. I showed her a picture that I had pulled from Instagram, and she was able to tell me which colors were being used, how the work could be altered, and how the dupatta could be customized to achieve my desired look. Every time I visit Vaijs showroom I have a hard time deciding which ensemble I would want! I love bright colors and sparkly designs, and her collection is so expansive with so many designs that I just have to pause for a sec to decide which might be the prettiest piece. Honestly I always feel like Any of her options would be great; I also really like that her designs are so modern/up to date...; she has the highest quality/most up-to-date eastern designs but with a western mix and all at a good price! My wife and I are lucky to have found this place! Vaijayanti Auntie was wonderful to work with - very responsive by text, willing to go the extra mile in terms of alterations and shipping with a tight timeframe, and very welcoming in general. These are all traits that are often missing in Indian clothing vendors...And her selection was quite expansive, both for mens and womens desi clothing (also for jewelry). We got our clothing for my sister-in-laws wedding - haldi, sangeet, and Hindu ceremony - from here and absolutely loved them!

Vama is as best as it gets. Seriously! I could go on for days about how great Vaijaynti (sp?) and her designs are, but Ill try to point out the most relevant parts below.In short - the designs, collection, pricing, customer service and overall process is as good as it can be - just go to her!As a one stop shop - her collection is 10 times larger than most! She has something to suit everyones style for bridal and non-bridal looks in addition to jewelry and accessories. She also carries amazing options for men. So it really is the only place you need to go to find something specific to your taste/size etc. You can take home something off the rack or she can customize something for you from scratch! (Most places only do one or the other, but you dont figure that out until you are already inside.) She also doesnt nickel and dime you on alterations or send you to some random aunties house (this has indeed happened to me) to get fitted. Everything happens at her boutique with her suggestions, and she doesnt let you leave until you are 110% satisfied.As a designer - she is honest, humble and super creative. She has a keen eye for details and can guide you on what will flatter YOU, and not just that one instagram model. You are of course welcome to show her photos that speak to you, and she can use her expertise to guide you in the design of you look including suggestions on jewelry, hair, make-up shoes etc etc etcAs an owner - She is SUPER patient and warm. As soon as you meet her, you feel comfortable. She doesnt push you on anything, but will stay within earshot if you have questions or need help. If you want, you can literally try on every single outfit there (but I dont recommend it - youll never leave). Im really indecisive, and never know what I want, how much I want to spend, what colors look good on me... the list goes on. She is always super patient and lets me take my time deliberating. I wont name names, but I have been to other places that start rolling their eyes or huffing/puffing every time you ask a price, or want to try on your 5th outfit, or they think your budget is too low. Vama is the opposite of that, she wont try to get you to spend and will try to do what she can to work within your budget.As a person - She is extremely accommodating! Ive been at her place late night, early morning, weekends, weekdays.... you name it. Especially if I need something last minute (which is 99% percent of the time). She is not only friendly and professional, but cares about her clients like family. If you are there for a long time, or its just cold - never say no if you are offered chai ;)

I shopped at VAMA Designs for my sister’s wedding this upcoming December. The boutique has a beautiful collection and a number of unique designs. Vaijayanti (owner) went ever as far as designing a brand new top for me to match the skirt of my lengha because I didn’t necessarily like the first one. It’s incredibly difficult to leave that trust in someone else’s hands but Vaijayanti made it so effortless and the lengha I bought looks absolutely stunning. Thank you for a wonderful experience! I found their booth at a bridal expo and fell in love with this gorgeous orange and red piece! I knew I already had a red dress for my ceremony, but I picked it up anyway for my Mehndi night. It was STUNNING! Definitely one of the outfits I got the most compliments on and it looked great with my backdrop as well. It took me only 20 minutes to decide I wanted it and the VAMA designs owner Vaijayanti Baldua was so sweet in helping me with my purchase and with trying it on. She managed to take care of me as a customer despite also having to put on a beautiful fashion show at that event - that is impressive! I will be sending more brides this way for sure. :)

All the hard work and dedication was fulfilled and portrayed in each one of VAMA designs outfits. I could see the blood sweat and tears. Just playing, but the dedication and love and attention to detail was successfully proven in each and every outfit. I dont know how she can sell her beautiful designs so happily and graceful, I wouldnt be able to let any of them go they are all so unique is every aspect and my thoughts are still mesmerized in the Vama wear closet! Where my jaw dropped, you just want it all! Vama makes you feel so very comfortable and at home, and there is a sense of trust you feel with her. Vama was so helpful in suggesting the wear to your needs although you felt like you needed it all! You can tell her what your envisioned design is and within seconds she has it and even better then you could have imagined!When I got to trying them on, I was in amazement and so in love. I did not feel worthy of wearing them, such beauty and what also amazed me was the affordability for these designs. That really made the cherry on top. VAMA will always be my go to! Vaij Baldua is the best of the best. If you are looking for any type of Indian outfit- lehenga, anarkali, etc. she has it all! She has everything from traditional to trendy and the most amazing part is that its high quality and affordable! I cant wait to come back and visit her again. I highly recommend Vama Designs for special occasion Indian clothing. Vaijayanti is wonderful and her attention to detail is impeccable. Theres a large selection of outfits with options to customize to suit your needs and style. My family and I have bought several lehengas and anarkalis over the past few years. We have been incredibly happy with the quality of the outfits and the customer service provided (e.g. my lehengas all required significant alterations which were done promptly). I absolutely love this Indian Boutique. It has an extensive collection of beautiful bold color (which I love) lehengas, sarees and anarkalis. I wanted/needed a lehenga (since I dont know how to wear Saree very well on my own) for an event in April and had been searching and visiting several Indian clothing stores and in-house boutiques all over the Bay Area. It wasnt until I visited VAMA Designs that I knew my search was over. Vaijayanthi, the owner, was super helpful and patient. When I asked whether she has any lehengas for my 3-years old and 8-years old daughters that would match the one I wanted to purchase, she said she can have them custom made in her factory in India!!! It was so awesome that I was able to get all three lehengas (mine had to be altered by her tailor, my daughters made and shipped from India), within 2 1/2 weeks. Best of all, the price was very reasonable! We were all getting lots of compliments regarding our outfits during the event. Even after the event, people were calling my mother-in-law to compliment our outfits! I definitely recommend VAMA and will be back for my future outfits!

I was there with some friends and we were received very coldly, I asked a question and was completely ignored, yes its TRUE you have very nice outfits, but limited selection.
