Came in looking to get some wood cut for a small home project and one of the employees Chip helped me and gave me a little knowledge about what I was looking for. Very helpful and professional Ill definitely be back
Oh my! This is like a toy store for me. Well organized. Helpful staff. Stock full of impossible to find woodworking tools. Rockler is pricey, but they are a specialty shop, stocking innovative items that are reliably precise and of great quality. This isnt the place to get fairly priced lumber - but if youre willing to pay a premium for pre-cut wood what they have in hand is good quality. If youre a woodworker, you already know Rockler. If youre just looking for general tools, youll find much better prices at Harbor Freight or the big box warehouses (but for lesser quality tools, in most cases.)This location is the only one in my area, but it is well managed, organized, and staffed by friendly, knowledgeably helpful folks. I wish theyd open a store in Gwinnett County, but its worth the long drive for me.
My first time to a physical Rockler store and I was SO impressed. Clean, well lit and organized, and full of wonderful products for woodworkers of all types. This is the best selection of fine hardwoods Ive seen and the prices, while not cheap, were fair for the quality/value. I got help when I needed it and was not bothered when I just wanted to wander. Although it is 44 miles one way from my home this wont be my last trip to this store.
Wide variety of woodworking equipment and great service. (i.e. epoxy accessories, colorants, power tools, wood, etc.)
Great experience! Lindsay was an excellent instructor taking time to explain the Scroll Saw fundamentals. I would highly suggest taking a course with her as the instructor.
Jay was very helpful, answered all our questions and very professional. I had questions about several different items and products. He walked us through all of it and never seemed put out by all of newbie questions. Bought what we were looking for and will be back for the great selection and customer service.
I went in yesterday morning I am attempting to DIY live edge coffee table.Everyone is knowledgeable and we’re able to answer all of my questions and give suggestions and advise on what kind of varnish to use.I will be back when it’s time for my next project!!
Staff for very professional very helpful in my getting an idea for research purposes boat repair wood needed dealing with that in getting with it not only the wood but any other and other components and liquids reinforcements to be reattached and replace what was damaged and rotted Ray 1989 Sea Ray Seville thats 19 ft long. Attached is a picture of the area of where Im replacing the wood at underneath the part where you would like to place your feet on on both the left side and Brightside basically the passenger and driver side in the hole underneath platform
Im so impressed with this place. Came in to ask some questions and Chip really helped me out. Cut a board for me in no time. Thank you, Chip ❤️ really appreciate it.
Purchased a couple items in here. Was it Chip? Probably as helpful as anyone recently when visiting a store. Lots to take in for a novice woodworker. They have a pretty good selection of boards that might save a trip to the lumber yard and most anything else one might need for a build.
Have to drive six hours from South Carolina to visit this store. It is worth the trip. However, my children live in the area. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Well worth the trip if you enjoy woodworking.
Great place to find all things related to wood working.
Great place to get wood and wood working supplies. Sales people are very helpful
Nice store for woodworking! They just reorganized the store to greatly increase their supply of wood. They have an excellent variety.Fina6, all of their staff are very knowledgeable and friendly.
Each time I go to rockler there is always help, not just help, great help! I havent used it with working within that last year and have gained a lot of knowledge just from talking to some of the associates there alone. Thanks rockler employees and rockler organization
Grate experience at Rockler today. Bought some curly maple boards for my next weekend project a coffee table 😜
After searching the website for ⅛ birch plywood in the 24×30 size and seeing 80 sheets available my wife drove up there to pick some up. Only to discover ZERO in stock. They were condescending when when I told them on speaker phone that they show 80 in stock. Not the shopping experience I was accustomed to from years past.
Great store. Clean, full of all manner of woodworking items you may or may not need. Staff is very helpful and willing to help you find what you need or provide alternative options. Bigger and brighter than the Kennesaw location and the Alpharetta Woodcraft. I think I visit here at least 1x per week.
I went to Rockler twice in the last week and they both were great. However the service at this one was superb! They immediately helped us find everything we came for and could think along the way. Very knowledgeable. And they just outright loved their jobs. Id recommend 10/10!
Awesome as always. A great woodworkers store.
A good store for most Lumbar/ woodworks. Friendly staffs are really helpful on our ideas. Seems they are opening custom works soon in same store. The only con is the store is not as big for big custom creations. But we can get most all parts from the store.
Definitely one of my favorite places to spend time and money. The store is great for those interested in woodworking. They have all the supplies you could ever need. From tools to wood to finishes. The staff is friendly and helpful. They also have classes and training available in store. All around a great store and community.
Wonderful customer service, very knowledgeable about wood and woodworking. They have different kinds of wood and different descriptions about the particular woods as well. They have woodworking classes which are closed due to covid-19 but I will definitely return for my exotic wood needs.
Horrible customer service every time I went. The staff isn’t friendly and seem to be bothered to answer questions.
Very clean, organized store. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Good experience every time.
I am a General Contractor in FL and needed some specialty hardware for a project. Both Jay and Chip answered many questions and Chip even drove to another store to p/u what was needed to complete my order. Thank you guys!
Came here with a specific tool to buy, I browsed around, and then got my tool. The staff was nice and asked if I needed any help. The store is large, but not overwhelming in the variety or choice when you narrow it down to a particular tool. They also looked like they had a decent wood collection, but I would recommend looking elsewhere to save some money .
If you order from Rockler, youll get your merchandise, but along with it comes a ton of spam from their sniveling marketers begging you to review even the tiniest item you bought. If you like spam and hassles with your purchases, Rockler is the place. If youd rather write reviews than buy woodworking products, Rockler is still the place. If you dont want BS, youll need to shop elsewhere.
Went to check this place out and found everyone very helpful. Prices were on par with other stores that sell woodworking supplies. Ill be back.
Only two people were working and both went out of their way to help us. Extremely knowledgeable. Was not expecting the store to be this large. Thank you.
The customer service here is terrible. I have been to the store twice now and both times, the staff were downright rude.My first visit was to look for a tool to cut angles in wood. I was completely new to woodworking and had no idea what to look for so I explained what I was trying to do and asked what I should use. The staff showed me a small hand mitre box and a very expensive variable hand mitre system. When I explained that these didnt really fit my needs, the staff person said Well, I guess your project isnt getting built then and walked away. I had never experience something like that in a store before. I ended up asking my coworkers about the project and was directed by them to buy a power mitre saw at Home Depot, which worked perfectly for the project.I assumed that maybe I caught the staff on a bad day so I recently tried visiting this Rockler location again, this time to ask about lumber. I spoke to a different staff member than my first visit but the experience was the same. I asked if he had a moment for a question about lumber and his response was Our lumber is back there and he began walking away. I politely persisted and tried to ask my actual question (Does Rockler sell dimensional poplar lumber?). He answered No and began walking away again. I tried one more time to ask if he might know of any other lumber sources that might sell that type of poplar and he curtly replied that No one sells that anywhere. That sounded strange to me so I went home and called various lumber sources in the Atlanta area and they confirmed that they can sell it. So either the staff at Rockler lacked knowledge of how lumber is sold or simply didnt care.As someone who is new to woodworking and is excited to get into the hobby, I was happy when a nice woodworking store like Rockler opened near me. However, based on my interactions with their staff, I will not be returning and I cant recommend it to anyone else that I know.
They have great specialized wood working tools.
I went in to ask about a specific product that they rep for and nobody had a clue nor did they seem to want to find out. This was a product in the $800+ range and with all the bells and whistles could have been a $1200+ sale but I seemed to know more about the product then they did. Unacceptable. The GM needs to train his people better at least. Ill buy elsewhere.
Wonderful customer service today. So many nice men to help me, I was almost overwhelmed. I had a complicated hinge issue to deal with, and they fixed me right up. I would note that novices like me should come with images of the project, not just a broken item that needs to be replaced.
Stock was lacking but staff was friendly.
The staff wasnt much help to me at all. They seemed to have zero product knowledge and lack of customer service. Decided to head over to the Home Depot down the street and they gave helpful answers and were friendly, which was the complete antithesis of the Sandy Springs Rockler. I wouldnt recommend getting any advice from those guys.
Nice people and great store for wood workers. Not cheap but having so many hard to find things in one place is worth it.
Went with my dad to look at wood for a piece of furniture we plan on building. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and answered all of our questions. We will definitely be returning for future projects.
Bought my lathe there and another few hundred dollars worth of stuff for pen turning. All are always patient and ready to help regardless of how many times or high newbie my questions are. I cant say the say for WC. WC is hit or miss, and dont see them wanting to bother with newbies...at least the location near me. Rockler is always my first choice even if its not the closest to me. All the guys there (Jeff, Jim, Larry, etc. are great.
Very helpful, patient, knowledgeable, and professional. Thanks
Great place with friendly staff.
Have really good stuff
I have been to both Kennesaw and Smyrna and I have to say customer service does not exist in either one. Im actually pretty sure I came out of Smyrna with less knowledge than when I went in. I stood around for d**n near 25 minutes before I finally got a half way do you need help. I could go on and on but my final verdict. I spent $600 in Kennesaw but walked out of Smyrna without the $200 worth of items I went in for. Ill wait 2 days to get it from Amazon and when I need parts local my money will go to highland working.
The people I spoke to were not knowledgeable in the areas I needed help. They pretty much knew what they had but didnt know (or couldnt explain) how things worked and what were the advantages/disadvantages or the various models they carried. I was told to Google it a couple of times. It is a beautiful store with lots of stuff but so is Amazon and you at least have customer reviews and answered questions to help you there.
Great service!
Love this place, wallet doesnt.
Your associate Jay is terribly rude to customers. My child was quietly standing beside me holding a $2 wooden ball and he came up and said She cant play with that. Put it down. She was holding a ball. Not running up and down the aisles screaming. After this experience today, we will not be back. I will take my business elsewhere.
Great 👍
Staff is super friendly and helpful. Store is well organized and easy to find what you are looking for.
I went to this store a few times to just look around and get a couple small things. From my experience, customer service is pretty lacking. The worst case was when I went to ask for help regarding hand saws. The guy I asked for help had nothing helpful to say whatsoever. He didnt even know what saws were in the store. I finally had to directly ask him to walk over to the hand saws just to get him to see that the store carried more saws than he told me they had. However, that didnt help much because he then just told me to look on the internet for information. So then I thought, ok maybe this guy is just not helpful. That wasnt the end of it. I stood around for about ten minutes trying to get someone else to help me because I really wanted a handsaw, and knowing one experience isnt everything. Well I couldnt get anyone to even acknowledge I was there. One employee, the only nice/helpful person there was with other customers, another employee was walking around the store on his cellphone avoiding me as I was walking around looking for someone to help me, and the fourth employee told me he was going to lunch. Needless to say I do not plan to go back. I ended up just going home and buying a saw I looked at in store on Amazon.
On Saturday Aug 5 2017, my fiance and her daughter visited the store and was followed by the the store associate making them feel uncomfortable . This associate started making reference to them stealing wood from the store. In 2017 we still have BS like this happening.
It was a nice big store with a classroom!
Found everything I was looking for and more. The staff was very nice and helpful.
Had the exact hinges that I needed and the employees were helpful and pleasant.
The staff at this Rocklers are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. The store is rather small, and with most Rocklers, some material, especially hardware is over priced. Shop around.
Customer service needs attention. New leadership would unlock its potential.
Very knowledgeable staff
My experience on line has been very good.
Great store for hard to find woodworking items.
Great store with a wide variety and awesome staff
Horrible customer service, and the staff knows close to nothing about the products they sell.
Lots of cool stuff, but pricey.
Great store with a great staff!
Awesome store good service also
Knowledgeable and friendly staff
Like it
For anyone who works with wood this is a must visit store. Was going to order online but realized I would be only 15 miles away from the Sandy Springs store so I visited the brick store. More than worth the trip. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful without being pushy. They sell nice wood working tool and hard wood as well. Being able to see the wood is a big plus. I highly recommend Rocklers.
Great store. Very knowledgable and helpful staff.
It is frightening how much would cost nowadays but there is no alternative with what I do they have the wood that I need. Have always enjoyed this store and everyone in it is so nice and helpful
A very cool store, many interesting tools and various gadgets. Reasonable prices.
