SC Tech Exchange is the only place in SC I would go with a computer issue. My MacBook stopped charging, at first I took it to another place and they couldn’t tell me why without committing to significant upfront costs. SC Tech Exchange diagnosed the issue quickly. I had a blown diode on the logic board - they fixed it for 1/2 the cost of what other places quoted. As far as I know they’re the only place in SC doing soldering work in house. Michael was great - super reasonable to work with on cost/assurance of workmanship. If I ever have another issue with a device - SC tech exchange is where I’m going.

My Macbook Pro 16 (2015) was desperately in need of a battery for wellover a year. Apple stores were all closed due to Covid. The fan ran every time I streamed, and on content-heavy applications like Pinterest. I was so worried I was ruining an otherwise stellar machine. I found Tech Exchange through their Computers for Sale ads on Craigslist, as I was also in the market for a more portable laptop. I read their reviews on repairs and was very impressed. So I took my Macbook in to have the battery replaced, and bought a sweet little refurbished 13 Macbook Pro that I absolutely LOVE. Anyway, they replaced the battery for only $250. which was far less than what I expected. They did an incredible job. Its running cool, the fan hasnt come on one time, no matter how long I stream AND it holds a charge like a champ. I couldnt be more pleased. The folks there are super nice too. Highly recommend!

The staff helped me to select a laptop based on my needs and usage, and then upgraded it to have all the storage I need. I am very happy with my new laptop! I was given lots of guidance in the process of selection, plus an excellent price. Great store and customer service. I needed a power supply and no one had any. All the major stores would have had to order one for me and it would have taken a week to get. Not only did they have the power supply I needed they had an upgrade that was less than the major stores so I went with that. I will be going back even if its just to look around they have a lot of stuff for tech people like myself and more. Thanks for the help and great service.

Went in about a week ago to try and sell some of my unused electronics (i.e. laptop, xbox 360 with kinnect, apple tv) and also to see what the cost would be to fix a tablet computer. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Offered fair prices and what they couldnt take they offered to recycle for me. They also have a lot of DJ equipment and they build gaming computers.
