Laid back but state-of-the-art store (not shop). Has the complete Specialized line of bikes: road, mountain and battery assisted, as well as cycling clothing and accessories. The store has a complete Service Department where bikes are assembled, repaired and given routine maintenance services. While I was there, picking up my new mountain bike, the staff were most helpful in getting the bike set up properly including a fit by Steve, who does all of the store’s fittings. The staff were friendly and each member I encountered (Shon, Daili, Ben, Ali and Steve) gave me help along the way. I would highly recommend Specialized Santa Monica!
Specialized are known to have incredible saddles and though I own a Trek Domane SL, I knew that I needed to upgrade for maximum comfort. I came to the store repeatedly to ask questions prior to actually spending any money. Each employee was patient and provided unique insights to how to make my ride more comfortable. Once I purchased my saddle (Expert Power Arc) I had an issue and they immediately replaced my saddle without hesitation. My experiences with Brian where down right special.
I had great service (tune-up for my bike) and an overall experience at Specialized - Santa Monica. I recommend this bike shop to others.
Highly recommend service dept. at this location - fast and fairly priced! Got my ancient 06 roadie shifter cabling issues sorted and replaced same day as promised.
Great, quick service! Took my sons stroller here to get the tires fixed and they did a great job. Will definitely recommend.
I bought my Specialized Tarmac SL6 at this store. The service has been amazing! Brandon who works there is truly amazing as he always makes me feel taken care of. When ordering bikes he’s honest and listens to my needs and what I am looking for. He works hard and is caring! The best bike shop experience.
Service guys excellent at performing a quick seat collar replacement on the fly, even worth these crazy pandemic service wait times. Sales staff also helpful with wait-listing me for a new Di2 Roubaix.First visit here. I will be back for sure, even though I live in Manhattan Beach. Thank you Specialized team!
Jackson and Brandon were super helpful and knowledgeable. Explained which bike best for my riding style and truly wanted to help me, not just make a sale. They care about the product!
The gentleman who helped me was so cool. So kind. Frankly, he turned me from someone who had only a vague, neutral to barely positive, however uncommitted impression of the Specialized brand, into someone who will, when I invest in a new bike next year, start by looking at Specialized first — and doing so from inside his brick-and-mortar, corporate-owned retail store in Santa Monica. Fun fact: Previously, I have been a loyal GT “triple-triangle” bicycle frame-design fan. But that goes wayyyyy back.
First time buying a bike from this store. Found the bike online, called to verify stock, and they took a deposit over the phone. Picked up the bike about three days later and it all went smoothly. Service was great. I think it was Jakob that helped me out. He was friendly and helpful. Got my bike dialed in, went over some of the features, and showed me how to make adjustments on it. Would definitely recommend the store and service to others.
This pro-level shop doesn’t let their pedigree get in the way of great service. The staff is both courteous and helpful. They’re a Specialized shop, but treat all cyclists equally. I highly recommend them if you’re looking for a new bike or getting an old one serviced.
Aaron and the team are awesome. I thought it might cost an arm and a leg but he was really generous, great price and fixed up my bike immediately even though they are busy and have a lot of bikes in there. I will definitely be back.
Great store. Great service. If you want specialized bike I would go out of my way to buy it from specialized only dealer . Same goes if you need any repairs done.
Specialized is known for stunning design and precision engineering. They’ve brought these top qualities to a cohesive yet local retail experience, true to the Santa Monica lifestyle.I bought my first road bike from Specialized Santa Monica two years ago and have been taken care of ever since. Recently, I was having gear trouble and thought I was going to have to replace my chain ring due to it’s worn teeth. I hoped on over to Specialized Santa Monica and found that Brandon was happy to help. He took a look, tuned up my Allez on the spot and had me back on the road good as new. Turns out not even my chain needed to be replaced. However, when it does, I’ll be headed back to Specialized Santa Monica.
The only reason I came into this shop was because of the “amazing” reviews. I read that customers have had amazing interactions with the staff and great customer service experiences, unfortunately this was not the case for me. I have a very old cruiser that needed a new tire and based off the reviews I decided to give it a try. I read that they welcome any and all bikes from the store owner himself, apparently not. They will treat you like dirt if you don’t have the most expensive bike. I couldn’t even ask about customizations because he says he doesn’t have “any parts” and referred me to another bike store nearby, Helen’s, which is odd because isn’t that your competition? Clearly, these people know their bikes and I’m not questioning their expertise but friendliness, customer service and kindness does not exist here.
This place is great! Very kind, helpful, and fast! 100% recommend :) Sean (Shawn?) gave me a cleat lesson and another great dude tuned up my bike! Thank you, I’ll be back :)
I don’t even own a Specialized bicycle and these guys are always incredibly helpful, professional, and courteous.
I had such a five star experience buying my first emtb here. Jackson is so knowledgeable, so professional, and really patient…he walked me through every aspect of my new bike, getting the fit just right, adjusting shocks, handlebars, minor little tweaks to saddle etc. he really cares about getting customers the best and it shows. Cannot recommend enough, I actually am looking forward to coming back here in the future. thank you so much Jackson!
Brandon and Jacob were both really awesome and really helpful in our search for some shoes and a helmet. The store has all the sizes that most other shops don’t carry. Definitely stop by and have these guys help you out if you’re in need of bike gear
Another visit to the store, helpful and fun. Nice to go somewhere staffed by riders who are happy to chat bikes and bike riding. Even at a time when everyone is low on certain stock, it’s nice to just say hello. Amazing mechanics also!!
I went today to get my wheel fixed today. They were so helpful. I thought I needed a full new wheel and tire but instead they were able to fix it for $25 in 20 minutes. I’ve been going to Helen’s for years, but the last few times I went there they acted like they couldn’t be bothered and were doing you a favor. I decided to try specialized and will be a regular customer. So pleasant, helpful, quick and reasonably priced.
Ive been on the hunt for two vests: one last season and the other brand new (next season); SaMo crew found them both for me and got me ready for gilet season. Shon, Ali, Benji, and Daili are a lethal combo.
Excellent Service. I was helped by Sebastian Larson who did an excellent job in educating me on Mountain Bikes.
This staff was very helpful and very attentive they walked me through the whole process mature I had everything I needed no it did no wait time very excellent service.
Excellent service and very knowledgeable staff. I wasnt set on any bike in particular but after experiencing the level of service at the Santa Monica shop I decided to get a Specialized. I ended up getting the same Bike one of the employees recommended.
ELLIS was a big help. He helped me find the bike that I wanted and the right accessories for it. They did not try to upsell me to more than I needed. Specialized has beautiful bicycles with great design. A little on the pricey side but you get something very nice.
We felt very welcomed each time we visited there. They practice masking and social distance very well, sometimes might have a little wait at the frontdoor if all staff are occupied, which is good such that the store won’t get too crowded.I bought 2 bikes here for my wife and myself, Brandon, Sean along with all the other staff were super helpful with sizing, reservation of the bikes, keeping us updated for pick up dates, and tirelessly addressed all the issues we had. Everyone here is so knowledgeable, as road bike beginners, we learned a few new tricks from each visit. The fitting experience with Steven was great, and worth every penny. After a couple of fitting sessions, we both had our bikes fitted so well that there is no discomfort which bothered us a lot. The most valuable thing besides the service is what we learned from Steven during the sessions, which could benefit us as riders long term.
Ordered a bike during the pandemic. Took 1.5 months to arrive and be built. Once the bike was delivered (unassembled) the team built the bike to my specifications and built quickly. Then they fitted and made sure everything was good even though this was after hours since I arrived just before closing. Knowledgable staff and very friendly. If they didn’t know an answer to something they were honest. Good staff, good product, good place. I just wished they had longer hours.
Great shop, clean and modern. Everyone in here is very pleasant and knowledgeable. Its a great place to go and lust over your next bike. My main interaction has been with the service dept. even though they are quite busy, I always feel like they listen to my concerns and explain all of my options. They take the time to make sure I feel like any bike issue is resolved. Aaron and Matt do a great job. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them.
Really good customer experience! Bought an ebike for my dad and they really went above and beyond. It was ready 2 days early, well tuned, and ready to ride for the weekend. Brandon and the other sales staff are very polite and enthusiastic about riding and it comes across when youre just chatting about bikes and working out the details. Definitely recommend if youre looking to buy a bike. It was a positive experience by far in comparison to every other shop Ive ever used during the sale and I look forward to using them after for repairs etc. when Im in the area.
Amazing shop of great people who are also dedicated experts! So happy to have had the experience of being their customer!
Went in for some insoles and in addition got an education. The staff spent a lot of time with me making sure I got the right insoles but then went above and beyond and helped me better understand the physiology of my feet (legs) in order to ensure the best possible ride. Great store, even better service.
Very helpful sales and service people. Great store full of tempting biking gear and Specialized bikes.Jackson in service was knowledgeable and helpful. Always friendly! Also, very prompt service and product info. No pressure- just professional in every way!
Picked up a Diverge Comp E5 which was put together very solidly. All shift adjustments were spot on. The fit and finish of the bike was awesome. Unfortunately I ended up returning the bike due to some website discrepancies in the parts used on the bike. The return process was easy and it was not a hassle. Definitely recommend this place.
Always a good place to go if you have a specialized bike. Would love them to have a mechanism for optional masks when youre vaccinated :-)
These guys are great. Good selection and fair prices. I especially appreciate the guys in repair — fast turnaround and great results ! And very, very inexpensive. Easy parking too!
Thanks so muchBrandon Scales BIG change in my bike EXCELLENT Service and thank you so much for explaining everything and literally save my lifeI could not believe how long the wheel wastoday I could had a very big accident on the mountainthank you for fixing my bikeLoved!!
My first time visiting Specialized. Ellis helped me out with everything I needed, he’s great! He showed me where everything I needed was, answered all my questions, and we even had a casual conversation after I paid. Don’t believe the negative reviews about this shop, they were probably from some angry boomers lol
Thanks guys!! The stuff was really helpful. I got my dream bike here))))
Ellis and everyone at this store was helpful and awesome! I would definitely get another bike from this store!
Customer service is the best!
First class service. Wonderful staff.
This place is my go to for service on my bikes. They do a consistent good job and for a reasonable price. Plus, they seem to work on all bikes and dont have a snobby attitude toward those of us with sub $1K bikes. I would recommend their service department to anyone. Thanks Synergy bike techs!
Stopped in for some basic cycling Gloves 🧤 after being turned away down the street at that bike shop with my grandmothers first name. Great Specialized bikes and gear. Knowledgeable staff. Ben was great and followed up with some options. I’ll be back. Thanks,Mike
Great service great bike!
Drove all the way from Compton. Ellis helped me he was informative and very helpful. Walked away with a new helmet and Allez. Thank you
My go-to bike shop for all things specialized. Very cool, helpful, and young staff with a super cool up to date store. The service department really knows their stuff too. Have saved me multiple times. Highly recommended
Great working with this bike shop. Picked up a bike for my kid and they got it out together in. A couple hours. It was perfect, the staff was very responsive (they text) and the bike was priced cheaper than any where else. Solid bike shop.
Great staff and very friendly. Well stock under covid conditions and shipping bottleneck at San Pedro & Long Beach ports.👍
I called them with a question about attaching a dog trailer to a quick release bike and they looked up the product and walked me through the process. Now, that is top notch service!
Very accommodating to maintaining the Divulge I recently bought. Love the bike too.
I have purchased a mountain bike from the Santa Monica store and paid $6000 for a demo bike. at the time of the purchase the manager of the store Michaez Kollbek had assured me that once i take if for a ride and if there is anything wrong with it to bring it back and they will fix it for no charge for me even though a demo or used bike is sold as is and i took his word and purchased the bike. After my first ride i had to take it back because it was out of tune and they fixed it then i had to take it back again after my second right because the breaks were making lots of noise and they needed to be adjusted, in total i used the bike about 8 times and and been in the store 5 times for adjustments issues. My last visit to the store was for another adjustment and they wanted to charge me $380 for something that i keep taking back since i bought the bike so by now i am pretty frustrated so i ask to speak to Michaez to see if he can wave the charges since i was promised it will be fixed and the manager on site told me Michaez is no longer with them and then i found out its because of lies and misrepresentation he was giving to customer like me just to bring the sales up so i had asked the manager if he can do anything about this bill or since i had nothing but problems with this bike if they can change the bike and i was even willing to pay more money for another bike, the manager had to talk to district manager which is Mellisa Morelli and she refused to do anything about it and told me if i have a issue to call the old manager that was fired from the store. This is no way to treat a customer, as a business owner my employees represent my business so if they do anything wrong it is my responsibility to make my customer happy not to tell them go after the person that has been fired from the store because of similar issues. After going back and forth with Mellissa Morelli she said the best she can do is to give me $10 discount on the invoice which it was pretty insulting. I have purchased 2 bikes and spend in total almost $18000 in that store and i was pretty disappointed the way i was treated. This is not about the $380 invoice its about the principle and customer service. I will highly recommend to think twice before spending so much money in that store because they will say anything and promise anything to sell you a bike.
I completely recommend coming to this store, everybody is very well knowledgeable, from service to sales. My purchase went smooth and I’m so happy with my new bike. Thank you, thank you to everyone!
I had a brake problem while on a ride and stopped in. The staff was awesome!!!!! They took care of me and got my bike working perfectly in record time. They were a pleasure to deal with.
Thank you Cynergy. I always appreciate the awesome team you have and the excellent work you do. My bike is fixed perfectly.See you again!!Glenn
I want to take a few minutes and share my experience with the Specialized Store in Santa Monica (formerly Cynergy Cycle). I spoke with Michal over the phone about an issue that stemmed a while ago from a prior purchase and he told me to come into the store so he could help to resolve. I went in and spoke with him directly, he was able to resolve the issue with no questions asked. Super cool and empathetic. I see some negative comments about other associates at this store who have attitude, are rude and just not professional and I actually experienced the EXACT same the day prior with another associate (he belittled me, raised his voice on a few occasions so he could be heard, and was flat out rude). If you go to this store, Michal is the man. Thanks again Specialized!
So friendly and helpful! Matt, Brandon, and Steve were great, and I cant wait to ride and stop by often!
Indifferent, dismissive, passive, “too cool for school” attitude.I reserved a specialized bike rental. No one says hello as I walk in, no one smiles.I finally flag someone down.I get the mountain bike. They explain nothing. Could care less. The mountain bike “manager” doesn’t ask me if I need help.I ask about padded shorts and helmets, they hardly point at the section. It’s as if they are doing me a favor.Well guess what, I will purchasing a 6,000 dollar mountain bike but it will NOT be from this horrible store. I can’t wait to give my business and my money elsewhere.Stay far away from this place.
Steve, Mitchell, Brandon, Ben, Shawn and the rest of the team are the best! Quality customer service and ready to help at all times. Awesome team!
Brandon went out of his way to help me return my bike even after the 30 day window since i was moving. super friendly staff and great service!
The inside of this store looks amazing. The way they have their bikes displayed is really awesome, but they need to hire more friendly and attentive staff. Everyone (except for Issac - Issac was entirely helpful and kind) was extremely rude and didnt seem to care about their job. They did not go over tech specs with me after the purchase of my new rockhopper. Additionally, Ellis looked pained to have to go over warranty information with me, like it sucked to be working there. People need to seriously find a new job if the one theyre in obviously is not right for them. Makes for a sad experience when its meant to be fun and exhilarating (buying a new bike). I, unfortunately, do not plan to come back to this store unless more caring, friendly, and professional, bicycle enthusiasts are hired.
I cant recommend Cynergy enough – Ellis and Shon helped me pick out and set up the perfect bike, and every interaction Ive had with other employees like Brandon and Isaac has been fantastic. Its a great group of people who really care about getting people on bikes and building the cycling community.
Always a great experience in Specialized Santa Monica with great staff and fantastic products.
Always a great experience every time I come in. Go up and beyond to make sure I leave satisfied.
Quality customer service.
Needed a small part and the service department took care of me in minutes. Great service. Very much appreciated.
Had a great experience purchasing my bike here. Dealt with Shon directly and he was super accommodating, responsive and on top of things.
Just want to say thank you to all the workers at Cynergy Cycles. Everyone is always so helpful everytime I walk in and they really spend their time and have tons of knowledge to share!! Thank you guys again for your top notch service- can’t wait to stop back in!!
5 blocks away Helens has a line of 30 people willing to wait for sales/service while Cynergy has 10+ customers wandering aimlessly inside while one of the service guys is juggling oranges in the back. An associate asked me if I was here for service, I explained I just needed to buy a shift cable and he said oh okay gotcha and continued to walk away. Waited another 5 minutes before leaving 🤷♂️
Fast service on my gravel bike at a moderate price. However, the tone of the mechanic was unacceptable, arrogant, dismissive. Did not feel welcome and will probably not return.
Can’t beat the service at this place. Matt and Aaron are incredibly knowledgeable on all things bike related, beyond helpful and professional, and quick!!!
Got what I needed quickly.
Fast, friendly, expert service! (And Specialized bikes are the best!)
These guys are knowledgeable but not very friendly. I think bike shops should be a community driven business with solution based workers. These guys spend more time assembling new bikes than working on yours, and if theres a broken part, they dont have any inventory, even though they have millions if dollars worth of bikes. I also dont appreciate attitude of any kind. There are better shops for service and customer service for sure. If you want a 7000 dollar ebike, im sure there are other shops for that too. Some of the guys seem ok, but I wasnt impressed even after a couple of visits for different issues. Im still looking for my shop of choice, but compared to my experiences in bicycle retail and my local shops in Portland Oregon. This one leaves much to be desired.
Helpful staff. Customer service oriented. Its surprising a lot of bikes shops lack this type of skills. Cynergy gets it right. Thanks Ben! And staff
The entire staff are very welcoming. Especially Issac and Michal they made ordering a new bike seamless.
On holidays from Sydney Australia, I dropped into this dealer. Fantastic store with phenomenal knowledgable staff. I had the pleasure of dealing with Matt N in store and then showed me around the local trails after hiring a demo bike. They where kind enough to swap the brake hoses to suit the Aussie style.Highly recommend this store. Its like a toy store for grown ups.Great service.
Best place for everything bicycle !
Ive never written a review for anywhere before, but had a truly horrific experience with the Cynergy service department today - its hands down the worst customer service Ive ever experienced at any business, ever. For additional context, I understand the bike industry very well; I worked at a high-end bike shop in Boulder, CO during all of college and I also worked and wrote for VeloNews for a year during college. My terrible Cynergy Cycles experience:I brought my bike in at the beginning of September and ~18 days later I came in to see what the status was since I hadnt heard anything. I was told some parts needed to be replaced, which was fine and was expected. I hadnt really heard anything and no responses to my texts back to the service department. About 3.5 weeks later (today), I stopped by again. I learned that the parts hadnt been sent yet to the shop yet (so I assume not ordered yet), so I requested that I just take my bike and go elsewhere. I was told there would ~$180 charge. I expected to pay something, but asked for a discount since my bike had been sitting there for almost 6 weeks with no progress. I politely said my reason for the request was bad service... and the person in the service department had a mini-tantrum when I asked this. He told me that the problem was that my bike was hard to work on and some other stuff - basically shaming me for my purchase. I politely said his super rude response was an example of the bad service I received. When I said this, he rather aggressively told me to leave the shop and said that he would put a note to not have the shop ever work with me again; which Im assuming is just made up... but is also wild since I was about to purchase both an S-Works Shiv and S-Works SL7 at Cynergy when my bike was completed.I was just asking for a small discount on my failed attempt to get service, because 6 weeks with no progress, no updates from the shop, and what-not is truly just bad service. I dont think it was unreasonable and I was very polite - the person in the service department just flipped out.Anyways, Id love to pay your shop for some of the service still because I want to make sure I support local businesses. If someone from the shop reads this, please reach out - I just feel rather uncomfortable going back.I ended up driving to Serious Cycling in Agoura right I got my bike and they called Specialized while I was there, and my replacement part was shipped out today already. They were also stoked to be working on a slightly more complicated bike (S-Works Venge ViAS rim brake).Best, and feel free to reach out to me so I can pay something for the service I received,Alex
Cynergy Cycles is an outstanding shop with knowledgeable, welcoming staff. Visiting from Utah, I received awesome trail recommendations from Michael and great service from Dante. Cynergy will be my go-to shop anytime Im in the LA area.
So professional, courteous and great!
Kollbe has that shop running like clockwork. Matt at the service department is a champ. Handled all the bike issues in a flash. Thanks to all the crew at Cynergy.Cycles. 👍🏼👍🏼
There was a gross looking guy who was being a jerk to the staff, he was filming customers and attempted to release mice in the store. The staff politely and calmly asked him to leave and he stood outside being agressive. He was doing it for a YouTube prank stream or something.I would like to thank the staff for keeping my bike shopping experience safe and comfortable.
Really great bicycle shop! These guys helped me fix my bike and get hooked up with some accessories. They were very friendly unlike my experiences at another bicycle shop in Santa Monica. I even went on a few rides in the Santa Monica mountains with the shop and had a blast. This is a great local bicycle shop!
The staff here is incredibly helpful. Ben spent all the time I needed to feel comfortable with my investment. The fit equipment and attention to detail on all the components is outstanding. The staff listened to my concerns and gave recommendations where appropriate. They also make sure to schedule adjustments and a fit session after a couple of rides to make sure everything is just right. If you are in the market for a top end bicycle and have lots of questions I would highly recommend this store! There is a parking lot so you dont have to stress about parking. The service department can be busy especially on the weekends but they always do a great job!
Pretentious Staff and bad customer service. I came to get my flat fixed. I told the guy that my bike tire and inner tube had been punctured. He nodded his head and when I got the bike back it was fine. But a day later the wheel was flat and I didn’t even ride it. Waste of 20 dollars
Its one of the best bike shops in the Santa Monica & West LA area. Ive bought four bikes from them & I have been very happy with their sales people and the service department. They deal exclusively Specialized brand bikes, which are one of the premier American bicycle brands. The shop sells $500 commuter and kids bikes, all the way up to $10k professional grade bikes. They also hosts group rides every Sunday at 8am & occasional mountain bike demo days and workshops. Free parking lot off the Santa Monica Blvd.
Terrific bike shop. High quality Specialized bikes and clothing. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great group rides and demos as well.
Their service is absolutely awesome! I needed to print a document for the dmv and I walked in to this shop as nothing else was around and expecting to get rejected straight away. They were absolutely accommodating in every way and helped me print what I needed. If I was into road bicycles I would go here just for their service!!
Rude and unfriendly staff, very unwelcoming atmosphere. Had to call the manager and at least he was friendly and helpful. Staff desperately needs training in customer service etiquette!
Hands down the best experience buying a bike.Erik was extremely knowledgeable and got me dialed in on my new mountain bike.Id recommend this place to anyone in need of a bike.-Robert
I LOVE the customer service here! Kurt spent hours helping us pick the right road bike for us and I finally ended up with a bike Im 100% happy with. We will definitely be coming back for all of our bike needs!
Had my bike serviced here. Not the cheapest but, for the price they did a fantastic job. I would recommend them to friends and I will definitely be returning here for my service/parts needs.
One of the friendlier bike shops in Santa Monica. Im an avid cyclist and have been for a couple of years. My wife just recently decided that she would like to start riding. We went to a couple of different bike shops in the Santa Monica area. Most of the other shops acted as if we were inconveniencing them by showing interest in their bikes. Cynergy was much friendlier and helpful. Their prices are fairly standard for the area so it isnt a screaming deal but it isnt a rip off either.
Just left a nearby bicycle shop where the salesperson was pretty rude and luckily came here next. Outstanding customer service and very friendly.
The worst management ever, quoted for 15% when I first came. After I decided to buy the bike I liked, the manager Willis said they couldnt do 15% off on new models and kept changing prices. His attitude is the worst. Do not recommend this store. If you wanna specialized bikes, go somewhere else.
Always have well staffed, knowledgeable employees. Ask a question and theyll help. Recently had a chain break, the mechanic showed me how to fix it myself without selling me anything.Love it!
