Best latte ever! Long wait to get in for brunch yesterday, but so worth it. The servers are incredible! welcoming, patient and dealing with hundreds of orders. I really enjoyed this cafe and will always come back on our Santa Monica visits. Kudos to the team at Urth and great food that the cooks, bakers, coffee artists, baristas and servers put out! Beach vibe!
We stumbled across this cafe whilst walking to another one. What a find. My wife will now only go here when there is one in the area, with delicious coffee and one of the best breakfasts she has had. Clearly it is popular as you often have to a queue a little (same with others we have visited) but it is worth the wait. Seating is only outside at the moment but there is a good amount. There is a separate queue for those just wanting to take out.
I just loved this place. Santa Monica has really nice cafes and this one of the bestVery lit and cozy place.Nice and pretty outdoor seating.Very friendly and courteous staff.Clean bathrooms. We ordered Rumi latte, Italian latte, urth juice and pumpkin cake.Everything was delicious. They gave us a 2nd cup of Rumi latte on the house coz the first one was a little cold.
Santa Monica’s favorite treat for a while! This place reminds me on Europe. If you want to have a breakfast, brunch, coffee and best cake in town - treat yourself with Urth. Everything I tried here is delicious! Pleasant atmosphere and location - Main street 1 block from beach. Love love love this place!
Exceptional location for a coffee, meal or dessert. Decent privacy and layout to come with a friend, group or even for a work meeting. Their pastries are quite good and the coffee is the best premium experience around.
Very busy all the time. But the food service is quick so once you are able to order you will get your food really fast. And it’s worth the wait. We went back twice in our 5 day vacation for the coffee, baked goods (the Nutella bun was amazing) and paninis!
The best food & coffee. Super dog friendly. Love everything about it.
Great food and great outdoor seating. 2 block to the beach. slightly pricey but not out of range for Santa Monica and organic food. I deducted one and half stars for long wait times and added a 1/2 star for celebrity sightings.
It was my first time at this location. I like it because it has less traffic lots of seating and quitter than other locations. Plus parking across the street is plenty. Staff are nice, food and drinks are always a plus at Urth.
If you live in LA and have not been to Urth Caffe you are definitely missing out. It is known as a typical LA place to go, but it is for good reasons. Urth has amazing coffees, lattes, smoothies, juices, etc with BEAUTIFUL latte art and tons of breakfast/lunch options to satisfy anyone with any dietary restrictions. The indoor space has really cool cafe vibes with lots of outdoor space and seating. You order at the front and then take your number to the table you choose and they will bring the food out to you. Make sure to be scouting out available tables while you are in line and hopefully you can have a friend hold the table while you order. The food is definitely pricey so be prepared.Be sure to stay on the lookout for celebs at the Beverly Hills location. I have spotted a few here over the years. These are my recommendations below:Meals:--Avocado toast +heirloom tomatoes or +poached egg or both. I love a good avocado toast and this one at Urth does not disappoint. The bread is amazing!--Egg sandwich. Classic, delicious breakfast sandwich served with mixed greens.--Caprese Sandwich: Yes, yes, yes. So delicious with the sundried tomato spread.--All paninis--Mediterranean platter: this is a large plate filled with all things vegetarian. Falafels, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, tabouli, roasted peppers, grilled artichokes, feta, and mixed olives served with pita bread.Pastry:--Nutella Girella Buns. Buttery croissant dough filled and rolled with rich pastry cream. Nutella spread and toasted hazelnuts. Flaky, chocolatey, deliciousness!!Drinks:--Honey Vanilla Latte--Matcha Latte--Amazon Rainforest Smoothie--Build your own smoothie
I’m a lovely spot. The outside garden even attracts nice friendly birds. I ordered the Mexican Omelette and it was delicioso! Along with my hot matcha 🍵 Great way to start your morning! The cakes are very tasty 👅 Big fan of Urth café and didn’t know there was this one in Santa Monica. Service was great although they weren’t paying attention to detail. Half my order was brought to me at the very end. Hope they can be careful with that. Parking is toss but there is a nearby parking lot Quality was very good 😌
Coffee is delicious. Especially, the Spanish Latte. However, I have to mention some drawbacks I have been treated rudely by cashiers, waited over 40 minutes for just a latte. Also, the line isnt organized out front. There is a difficult free-for-all trying to find a table when its crowded. And servers go from room for room trying to find the correct tables, because numbering system isnt organized. Its also Overpriced. But I still come here because the latte is fire.
The food was tasty and very well-made. They missed an item in my order, but getting a refund for that missing item was quite easy. Overall good service.
Great customer service at this locationGreen leaf bug in my to go salad!
What a coffee, simply superb. Lot’s of choices with earthy substitutes for milk, gluten etc ... my favorite is turmeric latte with oat milk, very refreshing, if you prefer your coffee on hotter side then make sure you tell them you need extra hot. Good choices of sweet savory available, must try. Great staff, very friendly and gives you advise if you’re new to this place.
I had high hopes the way my daughter talked about this place. I was disappointed. They took our order as we were standing in line. The service was great. I ordered the chicken pesto omelette. It came with a salad and 2 pieces of rustic bread. I also ordered tea. The food took a little bit to come. My tea was so bitter, I couldnt drink it at all. Had them switch it out and then it was fine. My omelette was kind of luke warm on one end and cold on the other end. Overcooked so it was a little rubbery. The salad was good, it had a basic light vinaigrette. The bread was a little tough. My daughter and my friend liked their dishes. Theirs werent cold like mine. Tables are very small so there isnt a lot of room for your plate and cup. Very crowded for sure. The best thing was the matcha tiramisu. It was so amazing and delicious. Not too sweet or soggy. I took a picture of that because it was worth showing.
I’d heard so much about this place, so when I was around one of their locations I decided to pop by for a late Sunday breakfast. Let me just say, the wait here is not worth the food. I was waiting in line for about 30 minutes before placing an order, and the wait probably raised more expectations for me.I ordered the chocolate espresso scone (which did not disappoint) but my eggs salmone (without the salmon) came with a soggy bread and didn’t really have any flavour.I will probably go back to try other bakery products on their menu, but I’ll be staying away from their breakfast food. The location however is lovely. There were sparrows flitting in and out under my table constantly, which was very charming. And I spite of the huge crowd, getting a table was pretty quick.
Urth was my favorite place but waiting 45min for oat meal is ridicules. It must be kitchen to small for volume that they make. Sorry .your food is very good and presented lovely but time is precious too. I hope things improve cause I dolike your place . But when you take guest and the service is slow to arrive no one can like that except for just juice drinks they seem to move out quick.
One of the best things to do in Santa Monica beach is to get a drink from here and walk around. I took Moroccan ice tea and mixed it with lemonade. The ice that I ordered was very delicious. I would definitely come again.
I like this place the drinks are good. The only few downsides are the parking can he a pain to find and the wait at times. I believe you can order ahead and pick up to avoid lines. I waited about 15 to 20 minutes to get a coffee and a smoothie for me and my roomy. I mean to be fair its Santa Monica so there is lots of people. Its a nice little place I havent had food here yet but have had a muffin and it was pretty tasty. Definitely recommend the Amazon rainforest smoothie it was delicious.
Amazing pastries, tea and avocado toast!Service was amazing. We wanted a big order to take with us and they knew exactly what to do and how to help.Their pistachio croissants are HEAVEN.There’s pistachio on the croissant on the outside but on the inside as well.Tip: go there super early in the am to get all the good stuff.
Excellent service! Excellent coffee drinks! Smooth and yummy! Will come back to check out menu items. 😁🐿
The location is very conveneient and busy. Like all Uurth cafes the quality and variety of choices is great. My breakfast partner chose the beef hash. It was more the consistency of a beef stew. however the flavor and quality of the hash was top notch. Fresh, flavorful each bite was a delight. The heirloom tomato burst with tomatoey goodness. My breakfast was the poach d I parma and it will say deliscious.
This location gets extremely busy. They need more than one cashier and more than one register open for the amount of people that come here. Also, there should be a separate line for pick up orders. Friendly atmosphere and healthy options for breakfast and lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating. Bathrooms on premises. Public parking a block away. Be aware the Santa Monica Police walk and patrol to issue tickets if parking on the street.
Not sure if they were slammed with customers or what, but I never got part of my order and when I went in to get it no one even attempted to help. I’ve always loved Urth, so this may have just been a fluke, but definitely not eating here again anytime soon.
Great drinks & desserts to die for, also a lovely seating area and efficient service. Ive tried a few different drinks now including the thai iced tea with boba, the Rumi hot tea and Chai tea with boba. NY Cheesecake was ok but they should let people know it has a strong lemon taste which I definitely did not enjoy. Their oatmeal cookies are very good. I have given 4 stars because I have tried the soup and a couple of other menu items 🍲 and they were very bland, I dont recommend the food.
Way too slow and disorganized. Fruits were either too soggy or frozen.
Place was decent but they let this creep Francis secretly record his encounters with women. When you bring it to staff attention they don’t want to say anything because he is Friends with the staff and owner. They definitely don’t respect the states two party Consent law or your personal privacy. Be carful ladies!!
Good food, nice ambience, the place is always busy and its a bit pricey, but its worth it for the quality 👌
This place AMAZING !!! The food is outstanding and the staff fantastic . It gets crowded around lunch time but the line moves fast and honestly..... worth the wait !!!! We were in vacations and we ended up there every single day for lunch . The staff is the sweetest and they go above and beyond. Best gluten free bread I ever had .... cashew cheese is soooo good ! They have food for everybody ! Highly recommend this wonderful place ❤️❤️
I appreciate how easy theyve made it to pick up orders.
Very good. I love Urth Caffe and this location is great. Fresh ingredients and great service as always. Urths iced matcha is my favorite of all time! I also love the outdoor seating they have. Such a good cafe.
If you haven’t been to Urth then you haven’t tried the best. This cafe is amazing, they have the best Tea’s and Latte’s. I got their iced honey vanilla latte and a blueberry muffin. My wife got their fruit tart and regular iced latte. The ambiance of this place reminds you about the simple things in life and it’s a great way to escape the city life.
Im from NYC and Ive never had coffee or strawberries that compare to what this place has to offer. I would travel to Santa Monica just go have it again. Thank you for showing me how real strawberries and coffee is suppose to taste like! #bitesbottomlipremembering 🥺😛
It was my first time in Santa Monica and my gf took me to Urth caffe for brunch. I loved this place. It has a really good vibe to it. The caffe is chill and has a really good menu. We had the poached eggs, avocado toast and Belgian waffle. Also highly recommend their coffee and the freshly squeezed juice with ginger
They had great coffee and teas, and we sat and ate a small lunch in the outside patio. The pastries are great in her! Love their cookies and brownies. Loved their quiche. Such a cute patio street area theyre on
This place never disappoints. Everything is excellent that I’ve tried, but the squash pizza is my favorite thing on the menu. Drizzle the chili oil on top. That takes the dish over the top. Wow.Their blueberry pie is excellent.Pumpkin pie was to die for.The Napoleon was just ok... only ate a few bites. First thing I’ve ever had at Urth that wasn’t excellent.
What happened Urth? This location used to be my favorite one yet each time I come the food seems to get worse and worse and the portion sizes are steadily decreasing. After waiting for my food for a good 30 minutes, when the restaurant was not busy at all, everything arrived cold and many items were prepared incorrectly. The Beverly Hills location which I visited recently was phenomenally better and i ordered the same items for comparison. For the price we pay for the food I would hope that it arrives as consistently as the other locations.
This was my first experience in Urth Caffe. I tried a vanilla coffee and two cakes, one with peakon on it. They were delicious.
Ample seating outside. Large selection of pastries and drinks. There are many organic drinks and milk substitutes. Green tea latte with almond milk was delicious and frothy. They also offer tapioca pearls in your drinks. Boyfriend ordered the organic earl grey tea with tapioca pearls and it was delicious.
The atmosphere, here, is really pleasant and the staff friendly and cordial. Theres a European flair to the whole place, with a cozy patio in the back, wrapping around the whole restaurant, with 3 entry ways altogether, making for great air flow. The coffee and teas are organic and fair trade and the food is really well made, using local ingredients, and great taste is evidence of it! They have one of the best tiramisus Ive ever had, both in the classic Italian style and a Matcha variety, and I highly recommend the Hojicha Tea Boba! Their WIDE variety breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu caters to vegetarians, vegans, and gluten sensitivities, and well worth the price!
This cafe is amazing the food and selections are great. They have a diverse menu with a range of selections to seduce any palate. The downside is it gets quite busy and they are a bit disorganized in their ordering and seating system. My personal favorites are the tiramisu and hot vanilla latte. I usually get it to go whenever we visit here and just find a cozy corner or outdoor seating area to enjoy.
A beautiful outdoor patio with a fountain, great service and wonderful food! it must be one of the better urth caffe locations in LA.i got a large oat milk latte (which was huge!) and an almond biscotti. the latte was delicious and the biscotti was a perfect pairing with the hot coffee!
Urth Cafe is a nice spot for breakfast near Pico and has a decent spread to order from. Largely clean and organic food to start your day. Its a cozy spot with an option to eat inside and outside. They serve one of the best freshly squeezed orange juice. Try it out, its pretty good. The orders were served pretty fast.
So many fun things to eat and drink!
This is by far my most favorite breakfast/brunch spot here in Santa Monica. I have also been to their counterpart at Pasadena. But I like Urth cafe at SM more than the other one. I have visited this place over more than 15 times now and I am sure these numbers would significantly keep increasing. The best part is its proximity to the beach and it has got a cute vibe to it. They have excellent coffee, tasty acai bowls and their desserts are yummy. They keep rolling their desserts. One thing to really keep in mind is that they have long queues (which sometimes move very fast) and always crowded no matter what time of the day you decide to go. So waiting might be excruciating most of the time. But they are totally worth the wait!!!
Great food, and their patios are open too! The food runners and bussers are all so nice and always help grab sauces and refills. If you can’t find parking on Main Street just park across the street behind the local garden, it’s so close! I always get the feta cheese omelette
A great time with friends after sunset at the beach.
I found this place by accident when I was walking along Main St. when I visited L.A./Santa Monica in summer 2016. I’m glad I stopped by and sat outside patio. It was perfect with great food & coffee. I will definitely go back there again next time!!
The Spanish latte is always a must to order! Service was great as far as my order being taken but sadly the quality of egg salmone was not the best. I understand that this is a busy location and I dont mind waiting in line for 15 minutes to get my order taken and waiting another 25 minutes into receiving my order. But at least serve my order properly cooked. Like I mentioned I ordered the egg salmone. My eggs were over cooked, it was like having two hard boiled eggs. 😞
The flavour and quality is second to none. It isnt cheap but it is good value just the same. I wouldnt think twice about returning.
The food is delicious. You really cant go wrong on the menu. Atmosphere ranges from Romantic to casual depending on the time and day.
Great coffee and fantastic place to sit and watch the world go by
Drinks (coffee, tea) are outstanding, as is the food. This particular occasion, my teen daughter & I were getting coffee drinks. We ordered them online, I drove to Santa Monica, & my Kid popped in to pick up our order. Well, they were crazy busy. My daughter waited around 10 minutes, to no avail. She came out, no coffee drinks. I then realized I had to find an actual parking spot (not an easy task around there) & pop into the store myself. The manager, Carolyn, was very understanding & professional. Not only did we get our delicious drinks, we got a refund. All in all, they lost one star for not attending to waiting customers. Well be back!
2 stars when it comes to ordering online and picking up. I bought well over $100 worth of breakfast and tipped, just to get home and see so many things were missing. Very disappointed.
I love Urth Cafe You have to try the Dried Fruit and Nut Scones if the havent run out of them. The employees are very respectful and friendlyOf course the food and the location and the decorations are great.
I would come here for the brunch all the time! The food here is good. I ordered the Classic Belgian Waffles. I don’t know how they make it so fluffy inside, but with maple syrup, it was amazing. My friend’s choice was the Egg white & spinach breakfast panini, which was also delicious.
