Delicious! I had the fish waffle filled with Nutella and cookies and cream soft-serve on top. Really good! And really sweet! When I was on the promenade later at night, this was one of the few places still open and it was packed! The people working there did an incredible job moving that fast with all the customers, very impressive. Looking for a sweet treat while on a date or an outing with friends? This is the place!

Omgsh, so I am going to be dreaming about somi somi when I head back to Texas. I was the girl growing up that stirred my ice cream to make it soft so a place like this is my inner child’s dream come true. 😂🙌❤️ The soft serve here is so smooth and creamy. 🤤🤤🤤 I’m 100% going to have to come back before I go home. 🙌

MUST TRY!!! Literally one of the best ice creams I have ever had. The cone was so soft and was the best part and specially the filling. I had gotten the upside down style, it looked really good. If you come here you must try this place.(I would recommend to get a cone with filling).

On the 3rd Street Promenade close to the Santa Monica Pier. They are doing to-go orders only, but thats fine since it is a small space anyways. Ordering is done using their tablet so super convenient and easy.The fish-style desserts are so fun and just stand out. You can get soft serve in it known as ahboong with extra filling inside such as red bean paste, taro, or some other specialty. Red bean paste is classic though!The other specialty they got are the taiyaki which is the same fish-style, but filling only. I tried the taro, cream, red bean, cheddar, and oreo. My favorites were the cheddar and oreo! You gotta eat them freshly made cus the cheese just oozes out lovely and the oreo reminded me of the fried kinds that you can get at a carnival. Super delish! My least favorite was the taro and cream. Definitely try the cheddar and oreo for sure tho!!Also, tried the Fresh Strawberry Milk. It literally is just that with some sweetened strawberry syrup. It was fine and looked pretty, but would rather make it at home.All in all, one of my favorite dessert spots to hit up! Must try if youve never been before!!

Great sorta weird place with goldfish shaped waffle cones and great soft serve it’s better than you think. My favorite part was watching them cut the excess off the cones. Very yummy You know for the kids.

Was a very good experience. The soft serve was amazing. I branched out and tried a flavor called Ube and it was amazing! The fish designed cone was to die for! One of the best ice cream experiences I have had! Definitely check it out if your in Santa Monica!

We ordered Ah-boong upside down with nutella, cantaloupe/mango twist with rainbow sprinkles and a macaroon we ate in like 3 minutes! So good! This place is amazing. Bravo! We loved it! 😁😁

Excellent dessert! The soft serve is dairy free, except the milk one, and its nice and rich and creamy. This place is also affordable and is a satisfying way to end a night. My favorite fillings for the ahboong/taiyaki are nuttela and custard regardless of which soft serve you get. Eating the regular cone is best with a spoon. The upside down is the most convenient and best option if you ask me. If you dont know what to get just go with the swirls of the week. Try it out!

Fish was crisp, ice cream was very good and lactose free.

Ordered the duo flavor option with half milk and half ube; top it off with the crunchy and soft taiyaki. The ice cream itself was creamy and tasty with the ube one being the best of the best. Definitely worth a try!

We went for TAIYAKI and not for soft serve ice cream. The outside was OK but the interior was undercooked .Ice-cream seem to be better and the fish-shaped topping they use is hollow and probably well cooked. But the solid (warm) Taiyaki was not so good

Soft serves were too sweet, but the strawberry milk was amazing, exactly what I wanted. Unfortunately the latter took some time to come out.Also, I understand the mask guideline, but maybe have a more obvious bigger sign clearly stating that even vaccinated people need to where masks; there were some confusion among the people lining up causing some blocking of the pathway.

My first SOMISOMI was delicious soft serve ice cream with some unique flavors...the cherry on the top wasn’t really a cheery but a delicious waffle fish with the flavor of filling of you choice in my case Custard YUMMM!!Try it on a nice Santa Monica Summer night

Let me start with what I like the most about this place. Just located on the corner of the third promenade street, the ice-cream emanates on the top of their flavorful waffles in the shape of a fish which attracts me further. I am a big fan of ube and they are so good. My husband tries matcha every time. One more bonus at this place is that they have tiny macaroons as a topping and they are so cute to the eyes. Carrying this happiness and walking down the third promenade street is an absolute bliss.

I just tried this for the first time and it is great, I liked the flavors they had.

Lots of fun different options. The waffles are very yummy and you can fill them with all sorts of different creamy flavors. I went with cookies and cream with Nutella upside-down. I also like that you can customize your dessert afterwards and add toppings. The macaroon was a nice touch. It was almost too cute to eat.

Somisomi is a chained soft serve shop. Love their soft serve with fish-shaped waffle cone with filling. You cant go wrong with any flavor combination!

LOVE this place! Korean ice cream is so good and its served in a special fish cone. The flavors change, but the matcha and black sesame are my personal faves.

Love the ice cream but was extremely disappointed to see the lack of enforcement of social distancing and mask wearing. The place was packed with unmasked patrons. I honestly felt very unsafe. The sign on the door said only two people were allowed inside but it was packed and the employees didn’t enforce any rules. This is probably the least safe business I have entered during coronavirus. Dont come here unless you want to risk getting coronavirus.

We love SomiSomi, but this location in particular is not the best. They are constantly out of flavors and keep changing the flavors they mix together. When asking to simply put one flavor on top of the other, because they changed they’re flavors again, we had one person willing to make this happen. As they were fulfilling our order a different employee comes and stops them and says, “no.”Love Somi, really don’t like this location.

Amazing tasting waffles with red bean some of the best I’ve ever had (and I don’t like waffles much), the ice cream is also quite good. This is my little brothers favorite dessert place, and we went there for his birthday tonight. One of the employees, Susan, was very generous and gave him an extra order of little Oreo waffles on the house! Thanks Susan!

Pros: The ice cream is AMAZING . I go there at least 3 times a week . One of the employees there recognize me and is always nice and helpful . I’d highly recommend trying it out . Ube flavor is the best !!!! It’s all reasonably priced .Cons: The customer service is terrible. They work very slow. They spend more time talking to each other than serving the customers. None of them have a good sense of urgency, they make a-lot more money if they work faster and share responsibility of putting the orders together.

The atmosphere is very clean and welcoming. There is a nice variety of options so everyone can find something to enjoy. The Tayaki itself was delicious and reasonably priced. They also let you put as many toppings as you want on it for free. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try!

It’s soft-serve ice cream served in a fish-shaped waffle. The ice cream flavors are Asian-inspired - I admit I was skeptical, but it was frickin delicious!

No parking

This place is small and to the point. Nice decor with plenty of space. A few benches and counters are available to sit or stand in.The fish shaped waffles are not oily or have an unpleasant after taste.The ice cream is solid. I was a little disappointed they didnt have the sesame flavor that the location on Sawtelle has but they had the others. We had the matcha and the Oreo and they where good. You have the choice to get your ice cream in a waffle fish, cup, or cup with a waffle fish.Its quick and easy. The final product is appealing to both kids, adults who want to post stuff on Instagram, or just want to have something small and sweet.
