Had my brakes and inspection done a little over a month ago. Damian was great, treated me like a person rather than just a customer and worked with me to keep my bill as small as possible. Fast service and no issues since, which is not something I’m used to with other auto shops.

It was my first time here, and these folks have been great! I wish I had been bringing my car here regularly before now. I was fearing the worst in an inspection of my older car, but Damian let me know it wasnt as bad as I thought, and he walked me through all current problems and potential future issues. His quote to fix it was lower than I was expecting, and then the actual price came in lower than the quote. The staff were super friendly, the price was excellent, and the service was quick and responsive. All around, Id suggest them to anyone, and Ill definitely be returning.

Fast and quality service! VIP were able to fit me into their schedule within a couple days for a four wheel alignment and tire rotation. They finished in an hour and Ive been very happy with their work. Definitely recommend.

VIP Scarborough Maine is THE BEST! Damian, the Service Manager, was simply honest. My daughter came home from College and needed a sticker for her car, and a few repairs to pass. He gave her a great price, being a college student she needs all the help she can get, and they completed the car within 24 hours. The entire team was so helpful, and even took her into the garage to show her what was needed. Thank you to all that helped her, and saved her money! Have to admit, I only came back because they offered a free oil change. Sounds like theyre struggling quite a bit due to short staffing right now, so things seem to be taking a bit longer, but the people in there are very nice, and friendly. They do a good job, sometimes it sucks feeling rushed because your appointment took longer than expected, but just plan for extra time, and youll be fine. For the short staff situation they have, they do a good job and do go above and beyond to make sure youre taken care of. Damian will take good care of you, and if he tells hes going to do something, hell do it, and that goes a long way.

Great service, they really worked with me to make sure my car was in great shape when it left. I brought my Audi A4 for an oil leak, and when they found out why it was leaking, they gave me a quote, and fixed it in a day. Quality work, and I’d definitely go again in the future.

I had a great experience at VIP! I am very appreciative for how quickly they got my jeep back up and running. Car troubles are always stressful but Damian was very kind and informative. My check engine was misfiring and thankful I pulled into Scarborough VIP right before they closed. They squeezed me in and I was able to drive my car home the next day! This is a heartfelt thank you to Henry Ratte and the great people at VIP Tires in Scarborough, Maine. My wife and I were traveling from Philadelphia to Bar Harbor in late September 2021 when our car started making some unusual noises as we drove up I-95. We feared that it might be a wheel bearing, and were afraid to drive the rest of the way. We knew nobody in Maine, were totally unfamiliar with the Portland area, and learned that the local auto shops were booked for weeks and that no rental cars were available. We didnt know what to do, and called AAA for recommendations. AAA recommended VIP Tires in Scarborough as one of their authorized local service companies. We called VIP and the store manager, Henry Ratte, got on the phone. He listened to our problem and told us that his location was very busy, but said that if we could drive over that morning, he would take a look at our car anyway. He said that if we had a wheel bearing problem, he would squeeze us into his schedule. When we drove over, he put our car on a lift, and even drove it for a while to determine if there was a problem. He concluded that the noise resulted from some tires that we recently rotated and not from a wheel bearing, and he then sent us off to Bar Harbor to continue our vacation. (Henry, you were right; we had a great time in Bar Harbor and Acadia!). I dont know how many people or businesses would have taken the time to fit us in like that and salvage our vacation; Henry was absolutely wonderful. I wish he were in my area in Pa., rather than Maine. If I needed service, I would want to obtain it from someone like him, who cares about taking care of his customers when they are in need. Can you call any repair shop and get in tomorrow? Not a chance. same day? a dream. Every hour one of my tires was dropping to below 15 lbs pressure which creates all kinds of alarms in my truck. I called at 12:10 explained the situation and was told he already refused a ton of people today. I must have whined a little and he said if I could leave it he would TRY to get it in, but they were already overbooked. Called me at 2:43 to tell me it was done! Have to pay a premium when people help you out like that, yup - $23.99. Unbelievable!!! And they were pleasant to boot. Thanks very much. Made my day

I had a flat tire, I went to this location for the first time to ask if they could take me in because my spare tire was pretty bad! I couldnt drive far with it. They were very booked for that day, but thankfully they were able to squeeze me and work on my tire. Im so thankful for their great service and amazing customer service. Thank you so much!

It was not a cheap fix, but it was the right fix and I am grateful that they took such good care of me. I went in after work for advice on new tires and/or a lift kit for my truck. Just two hours before close, the service manager took the time to give honest and thorough comparisons. I told him my work schedule wouldnt allow me to drop my truck off for a few days. He went back and asked his mechanics to squeeze me in that night. I walked down the street for dinner and drove home on new tires!

I love going to VIP. Not only is the cost so much less than going to an actual dealership. They are super helpful and let me know if anything needs to be fixed on my car. I have been coming here for years now to get tires, oil changes, and maintenance done on my vehicles. They can always squeeze me in an appointment. They have great customer service and I suggest bringing your car here if you dont want to spend an arm and leg on car maintenance. I would recommend this place to a friend.

I took my Jeep to the Scarborough Maine VIP this morning to have my wheel lug bolts and nuts replaced, two of them having been sheared off.Damien was extremely helpful and very thorough in explaining the process, possible reasoning and recommendations for courses of action to take. Troy, the vehicle tech, also took the time to show me damage that had been caused because of the failure.The service these two employees provided me with today is what I would consider EXCELLENCE in customer service and would highly recommend using this establishment for your auto care needs.

Made an appointment with a competitor as the VIP site wasn’t allowing me too. Competitor never answered my calls the next day to verify my appointment. Drove down to verify as we needed to get my wife’s car ready for a trip that weekend. When I got there only two guys were working and the place was a disaster. I live in Biddeford where there is a local VIP and one in Saco as well. I choose to drive to Scarborough because of the excellent customer service especially when calling in. I believe Brandon normally answers the phone and he is extremely knowledgable and very friendly. He goes out of his way to be competitive when it comes to pricing and explains the services in detail. Damian was also helpful on my recent service. Was in there for a deodorizing service and he let me know my inspection sticker was expired and I had a headlight out. Was in and out in a relatively quick manner and will continue to come here in the future, especially for great tire deals!

Excellent Experience! This is my first service appointment with this VIP Tires & Service Location. I had a lower quote for Winter Tire Installation from another local business. I always bring my vehicles to VIP Auto because theyre honest and efficient. Whenever I have had expensive vehicle repairs crop up, they bring me back to the garage to see what needs to be replaced and they explain why, and run through my options.

Every other tire place in the area was either booked or never got back to me. The guys at the Scarborough location were great and squeezed me in and fix my flat tire. Brandon was so helpful from beginning to end. Definitely will be be making this place my go-to for car services from now on.

Beware everyone! I took my car here the other day for an oil change and one of the technicians called me about an hour later telling me my front brakes are completely shot and I can’t drive my vehicle. They quoted me 750$ to replace front brakes and rotors and do an alignment. Well any person with a brain now a days will open google and find out how much that should actually cost (between 200-400$ with labor btw). I brought my car to a trusted mechanic and they told me there is NOTHING wrong with my brakes. If anything the back brakes look a little more worn than the front brakes. That mechanic was only going to charge 350$ for the same service as VIP. So moral of the story hold on to your wallets and if they tell you you need at extra work, please get a second opinion.

I went in for an oil change appointment I had made earlier in the week. The counter guy greeted me very pleasantly and got me all checked in and pointed me to the waiting room. The waiting room was fine. I wish the water cooler was working on a 90 degree day, but otherwise, it was fine. My car was ready in about 20 minutes with a printout of all the notes made by the technician. The countwr girl, Brandy, took her time and explained everything to me. I asked a few questions and she had clear and concise replies. I did ask about a quote for some follow up work and she explained it would be about 45 minutes to get a quote together because she had a few other items she was working on, but would follow up with a phone call tomorrow. All on all, everyone was courteous and efficient.

Brandon was extremely helpful with my car service on 08/30/20. He was especially kind enough to squeeze my car work into their busy Sunday without an appointment. He took his time and thoroughly explained my cars issues and had the work done in no time. He also explained to me the safety concerns and we discussed this with another coworker as well. I moved to southern Maine about a year ago and have been struggling to find a decent auto place in the area. My fiancé had some trouble with a flat tire during the winter and was in a pinch but ended up finding the best price for tires and service especially due to the circumstances. She ended up having a few other things done here and came home raving about the amazing customer service, fair prices, etc. When it came time for me to get a new set of tires for the winter, she steered me towards them for the service. She could not have been more right. Damien and Brandy, along with the rest of the staff were amazing! Pricing was great, especially with the buy three get one free tire sale that was happening. And the customer service was above and beyond. I can’t say enough good things about this spot. I highly recommend them for any southern Maine auto services.

When I went into VIP for my oil change, they went above and beyond. They noticed my alignment was very off and suggested that I get that fixed. I have never gotten an oil change from another place where the service goes above and beyond like that, to make sure that when you leave your vehicle is in better shape. The service is great, and the people who work there are wonderful.

VIP was close to where I worked/lived so I gave them a try. I am so happy I did! I actually have referred people, which I rarely do. The staff is professional, helpful and honest. VIP Tires & Service is outstanding! Traveling to Maine from our home state, we had some car trouble while visiting South Portland. We had the car towed to VIP, which was the only garage in the area who would even accept us on a last minute notice. Brandy was beyond helpful and guided us through the service process. When we realized we had to move the car to a dealership for warranty work, VIP didnt even charge for their time. We were so grateful and overwhelmed by their generosity. I took my son in for tires and brake service (that was overlooked by a garage previously) and was politely greeted by manager Damian. He was very thorough and explained options and gave advice based on both his personal experience and professional background. He got us in on a busy day and had the car ready for us the next day with new brakes, tires, and a sticker to boot! It needed quite a bit of work, but he was able to keep it in our budget. We left feeling very well served by him, his team, and Brandy, who very politely helped us when we picked up the car. It felt really good to know Damian and his team treated us honestly and thoroughly, especially since this was my sons first car; and although we had taken the car to a different garage a few weeks back for some of the same concerns, that garage overlooked them (truthfully they did), and thankfully, VIP Scarborough corrected the other garages oversights. Tires were out of stock but they found them within hours from another location. Left vehicle for the day on a very busy Saturday, they changed tires and did a front end alignment and sticker. Vehicle was ready when we came back at 4 PM. Great people at the front end and a great deal on tires.

I brought my Audi A6 this morning into VIP (Payne Rd location) and was greeted by Jon in a friendly manner; I brought my car in as the brake pad indicator light was on--I usually visit an Audi dealer to perform service, but was in a bind. Im glad I went to this location instead, as I found the level of service to be quite higher. Ill definitely return to this location on any future service needs because of my interaction with the service rep.

2 weeks ago I had gone into VIP in Scarborough to get a quote on new tires and what I would be looking at for all four new ones. Jon was very helpful with making sure I understood what size tires I needed, gave me two options, with two different brands and helped me know the differences between the two. In addition he said they could get me in that day and would be in and out within an hour. This was my first experience at this location. The service was amazing. They did a great job on my car and when I had questions Shane answered them so that I could understand the answer. I did not tell him I am a car person and the daughter of a mechanic so it was nice that he was able to explain things so that anyone would be able to understand. That was a huge plus to me. Very good service

To start off i know my way around a car, and usually conduct my own oil changes and service, however I was recently stationed here and hadnt received my house hold goods and tools yet. After moving across the country I felt it necessary to get an oil change rather than waiting to do it myself. The first red flag, was that I asked for a quote for new brake pads as well as the oil change. They quoted me a price that was way too steep for me to say yes, and secondly insisted that my rotors needed to be changed as well. Prior to moving we had a full vehicle inspection completed by a way more reputable establishment in my home state, and they said our rotors where doing just fine. So in my opinion they are trying to force unnecessary repairs on people who dont know any better. Now for the real issue. A few days after the oil change I noticed oil spots on my drive way, they werent huge but enough to concern me. I looked under the car and saw oil on my oil pan, and figured my gasket was leaking. When my tools finally arrived, I set everything up to complete the maintenance and was greeted by my oil plug being so loose I could turn it with 1 finger. Poor service, poor prices, poor business practices. Find a better place to go.Edit.While I was not pleased with the service I was impressed that after leaving my initial review, they reached out to me and were very apologetic for my experience. They did what they could to remedy the situation. If you face any peoples just give them a call and im sure they would be happy to help.

I paid up front a amount that gives me now alignment of my car for the life of it. My next visit will be free off charge for a oil change, balance and rotation of tires, and now my alignment. This shop saved my vehicle when my water pump blew on the interstate. It would have been a very long weekend, had they not fixed my water pump that afternoon. They also saved me money on the parts and labor cost, in comparison to the price the dealership would have charged me if I took it there. Definitely recommending if you’re in town and your vehicle needs to be fixed go to this VIP store. Staff and mechanics were top notch.

I brought our 2003 Subaru Legacy/outback to VIP after getting an estimate from Meineke in order to pass inspection. Meineke gave us a bare minimum estimate in order to get us through inspection. VIP (BRandon) gave us a much more detailed evaluation that was more expensive, but much more complete. They had the car for about 24 hours-they had tofind some arcane parts because the car is not only old but is a unique model (six cylinder automatic) that requires an unusual axle or something like that. Brandon explained the entire procedure and we ended up with VIP doing the repair even though it was more money (for a lot more work). The car now is running beautifully. We also received a full explanation when we picked up the car, without being condescending. Considering that we spent a lot of money for the repair (which was worth it), it was a positive experience.

I was having problems with my heater and I made an appointment they took me the following day. Which I was very happy about. Was greeted by Damian who took my information down and was very helpful. They found the problem quickly. They fixed my car couldnt be happier. Damian was exceptional in explaining everything and I couldnt be more pleased with their service. I highly recommend this VIP the best customer service indeed. Thank you so much.

I had a great first experience at VIP. I stopped in middle of the day Saturday with a concern with my brakes. I thought for sure without an appointment that I would have to reschedule and come back but that was not the case. Richard and his mechanic got me right in. They walked me through the whole process and provided tips on how to best take care of my brakes and car in the future. They were beyond helpful.I have gone to the same local repair shop but after my experience with Richard and his team, I will be driving the extra 40 minutes to have maintenance done with VIP

Clean shop, great service at the counter, and a pleasant waiting room, however someone needs to have a conversation with your young mechanics about staying on task. I came in for an oil change that took more than an hour and 15 minutes and counting. I’m watching the mechanics text on their cells, chatting and distract each other as they lounge about on the clock. I’m hoping this is an unusual day, good review otherwise

Damien is top notch. His courtesy and professionalism is superb. He is kind, understanding and wants to help. As busy as they are today, the day before Thanksgiving, he knew I am trying to get to VA and took my car first thing this morning. They fixed it and worked to make the cost as low as possible. Everyone there is wonderful. I had a low tire last summer after traveling from VA. They took it immediately and replaced it after determining it had a hole. I am extremely thankful for Damien and his colleagues. They are trustworthy and dependable.
