My wife and I recently purchased a vehicle from this dealership, we have bought many vehicles over the years and I must say this was hands down the most comfortable easy transaction of our lives Hannah was very attentive yet no pressure she was very helpful. Compared to other Mercedes and Land Rover dealerships the Volvo dealership is by far above and beyond in a league of its own. It was the most relaxed calm atmosphere I have ever experienced. The day we bought our new Volvo we actually went to Portland to look at a Jaguar F pace, after calling the Jag dealership to verify they had them in stock we drove down (2 hrs) only to get there and be told by the salesman after calling ahead the vehicle we are interested in is actually at a different location in NH. WHAT A SNEAKY SALES TACTIC TO GET US IN THE DOOR we thought. Immediately we left and most likely will never go back. Currently owning a Volvo we searched for a dealer near by and ended up here,so glad we did!! When we purchased the car we also purchased the Polestar package which required us to go back in a couple weeks for software enhancements, my wife upon arrival was greeted at the indoor drop off location immediately by the staff and was directed to her perfectly prepared loaner car for the day which was inside fully fueled,detailed, and ready for her she was in and out back on the road in 5 minutes. They performed the necessary work in half the time estimated and went above and beyond with a 5 star detailing again and made the pick up drop off easy as could be. I could go on and on but long story short I recommend everyone looking for a new luxury vehicle to give this dealership Volvo a try and ask for Hannah!!

I am a Georgian. My 96 Saab 900s radio was disconnected from the battery, and because the radio is from the era when everyone was inexplicably terrified of their stereo being stolen while they were buying cigarettes, the radio requires a unique code to be turned back on. The OEM radio unit in my car is not the original factory equipment, meaning the code isnt linked with my cars VIN. I called several Saab service centers (amazed that these even exist) around the South to get the code, and every single one either didnt seem to know how to get the code or quoted me the wrong one.I was really frustrated at the seeming inability of authorized service centers to perform their supposedly authorized service. And I mean, who among us can cast fault on an innocent young Cadillac technician for being unable to recall how to fix the stereo of this funky unwanted child of a car produced during the brief and dysfunctional marriage of Saab and General Motors? His father was distant and his mother smothered him with far too much love to protect her son from the unabashed meanness of an abusive husband she had never loved. No fresh-faced parts counter attendant - likely nearly a decade younger than this cars engine gaskets and bad memories - should be expected to apply electrical therapy to the sick and twisted internal combustion mind of this confused delinquent of deadbeat parentage. Especially when its probably the first time the Saab hotline has rung in months.What was I saying? Oh yeah, I lived in Maine for a time (one of my favorite states by the way, for those Mainers reading) and I remembered how weirdly common old Saabs were up north. I rung up the first Saab service center I saw in Maine and the fella on the phone told me hed get on it and get back to me. I got the code and *finally* it was the right one.In summary: they seem to me to be at least competent, so good on em. Thanks for the code ;)

The new facility is fabulous! Absolutely needed to match the customer expectation. I really appreciate the car wash at the end. What a great bonus! The waiting area is much more work-space friendly. We called from the road, tried to describe the situation and were told to come in when we arrived in Portland. WOW! what a cluster..... made a deal on a car on Friday with a Tuesday delivery. All you had to do was clean the vehicle. I show upon Tuesday with my exited wife and the car had been run thru the fancy new car wash they just built, far from the detail we had agreed on. Just bad business. I do appreciate you waisting my and my wifes time and energy. A real class act! Its been over 24 hours and still no contact from your classy dealership. Fast forward one week..... I did take delivery of the car a few days later after only to find that one of the rear tires had a hole in it and had been patched.Really??? Volvo safety first! needless to say I returned the car to Portland Volvo a VERY UNHAPPY customer. Absolute terrible service for this outfit.

My husband and I are looking for a new car and we were excited to check out the Volvo XC90. We did not had an appointment, but when we walk into the Volvo building today, we were the only customers. Nobody seemed to care that we were waiting. The sales people saw us, but I guess it was not worth their time asking us what they could do for us. Instead they just ignored us. After waiting almost 10 minutes with no help offered, we just walked out. I guess they are not interested in selling cars anymore. Unbelievable!!!

TERRIBLE experience with servive dept.Basically was told that my car had mutiple error codes come up with diagnostics but is FINE and good to be driven, (3 hrs and $277 later) and worse of all being told that I DONT DRIVE MY CAR ENOUGH, SO IT IS NOT HOLDING CHARGE, AND TO TAKE IT FOR AN HOURs drive somewhere in a condescending toneTotally different experience with Goodwin Volvo in Topsham not only did they fixed the issue, (positive charge terminal was loose), also changed recall seatbelt anchor and complimentary carwash to boot iand most importantly a welcoming environment

John at Portland Volvo should be your go-to for your next car. Its always nerve wracking when purchasing a new car, and he made it so much easier. It helped that I knew him personally, but when you talk to him you feel like youve known him for years, which definitely says something! The process was smooth. We just worked with Portland Volvo for the first time for parts and service on our 2003 XC90. Parts department was super friendly and very helpful. Everything was in stock and prices were reasonable. We also had our Volvo serviced for the timing belt, brake work, hub assembly and alignment. Appointment was quickly scheduled and service was done in a very timely manner. Dave was our contact person and the experience was nothing less than perfect. Communication was seamless and the work performed was completed to the highest standards. Although our vehicle is older and we have never purchased there, we were still treated like family and felt extremely welcome. Thanks for everything and we are definitely a customer for life!

Came in on a whim, completely wasting time. I saw a vehicle online previously and thought it would be fun to just take a quick test drive. Met the staff and instantly felt comfortable. After taking the test drive and actually liking the vehicle I told Matt my number they had to meet in order for me to drive away. Without pressure he and his co-workers worked diligently and came back with a number that worked. It was honestly the most fun Ive had purchasing a vehicle. Definitely recommended.

Ive been taking my XC70 here since I moved to Maine and just had another wonderful service experience. Joel in the service department is so excellent to deal with and their COVID-19 precautions are really good. They are great about doing the service you ask for, checking out the car, but only recommending additional services if you really need it. I never feel like they are trying to sell me something I dont need. If my XC70 ever wears out, Ill buy a car from them...but it may last forever.

Major five stars for these guys! Ive owned Volvos on and off since 1977 and never found a better dealer. Bought a certified S60 from them in a rush last November since my new/used car was broadsided at a light and I needed replacement wheels fast - even though I live in another state. They had the best car at the best price and I couldnt wait and shop around. Due to an undetected fender-bender by prev. owner, however, the car developed a spot of rust near the bumper after a couple months. They recently fixed this metal-to-metal at their own cost and threw in another cosmetic repair with no questions, no paperwork, no hassle at all. They were SO good that even though I live four hours away I would get my next car from them too. No other dealer has come close. They made what might have been a real problem a real pleasure instead. Five stars.

Our family was driving from Connecticut to Maine when my husband noticed the car was making a funny sound. At the halfway point, we called Portland Volvo to ask if maybe they could take a look. This was Friday at around 3 pm. Lisa answered the phone and was extremely professional and sweet, but informed us there were no open spots that day. She suggested we leave the car overnight and maybe someone would get to it on Saturday. She even suggested a rental car dealership nearby.We followed her advice and were pleasantly surprise when she called early on Saturday to tell us that they squeezed our car in, and discovered the problem.Lisa had all our paperwork taken care of when we arrived (just as they were closing), there was no push for service, and we drove away relieved and grateful. Portland Volvo saved our short weekend vacation and treated us Flatlanders just as kindly and respectfully as Im sure they do their regular customers. Highly recommend.

Although the dealership was extremely busy that day, he treated me and my dad like we were his only customers. I went to Portland Volvo specifically to look at the 2015 Honda Pilot I saw on their website. Ralph DAngelo was a great salesman. He listened to our needs, took us on two test drives. Both in the Honda Pilot and in a Toyota Highlander. He did a side by side comparison as we were very undecided as to which vehicle to choose. There was no pressure---we didnt feel rushed. Everyone that we dealt with at the dealership was professional and polite. They use Pure Price Value to price their vehicles so once we decided on the Honda pilot there was no haggling on price. Had what I thought was a major problem with my 2008 C70 convertible. Called Joel Hall and the next available service opening was three days later. After telling him that I thought I shouldn’t drive it because the clunking noise was so bad, he said “bring it in right away!” Three hours later the problem was fixed. Now that’s exceptional Service!This is my 7th Volvo (I’m 88 years old). In all these years I’ve never had anything but the best service from Volvo. Portland Volvo is hands down the best dealership I have ever dealt with! I recently purchased a 2017 XC90 (my second Volvo) and Colin, Cody and Jason were all incredible to work with...the service department included! I considered other vehicles/dealerships during the process, however nothing compared to the service, professionalism and overall comfort provided during every interaction of the car buying experience. I highly recommend Portland Volvo! I recently leased a 2016 XC 70. John in sales was very knowledgeable about the vehicle as well as the leasing process. There were several model improvements from my 2005 XC 70.I received a great deal of information on my test drive as well as at pick-up. I was offered a follow-up appointment for further information as needed. The financial process was clearly explained and efficiently completed by Jason. I have had consistently excellent experiences at this dealership over the past 11 years and am pleased to offer this review.

I went to the Volvo dealership because my clicker for opening and closing the car doors was not working. The car was checked out and I was told I needed a new clicker and it would cost $300. I did not buy. At home I added two drops of oil to the clicker and now it works fine. Saved me $300. Thank you.Gunnel Hansen.

Very good just a little too much pressure on extendid warrenty

Have a 2007 XC70 & love my car! Unfortunately, driving on rural Maine roads caused me to break a rear spring! Hard to believe, but we did! The crew at Portland Volvo quickly diagnosed my problem one afternoon & scheduled a appointment for me with a loaner car as I live about 1 1/2 hrs. away! Dave & crew got me in on the morning scheduled & got me back on my way home as soon as possible.Thanks guys!

I went to Portland Volvo Cars to have ERS via key fob installed on my 2017 XC60. I was greeted promptly and courteously at the service desk, the car was in the shop minutes after I completed the paperwork at the desk and was completed quickly, in under 30 minutes. The customer waiting area was spotless, coffee, tea, water, soda snacks were available, along with WiFi. This is why I traveled 80 miles to buy this car and to have it serviced here.
