Anybody who can afford to buy a large house can certainly spend $70K on an A/V system (while complaining about another customer not wanting to fork out that much cash)- Desert Valley Audio Tech, May 2021We bought a house with an existing home theater, network, and lighting system that was up and running through Control 4 when we moved in. We just needed to add our personal TVs and were considering updating a couple of other features.We hired Desert Valley Audio Video to install and/or update our wireless coverage and Control 4 back in May. The sales team that came out was knowledgeable, promised to use our existing equipment with just having to add on a few key pieces. They gave us a hefty 5-figure quote but we had faith in them, and agreed to hire them.That was a colossal mistake.The first tech that came out couldnt get our wireless coverage up and running properly. He completed several days of work, and considered his job done although there were huge gaps in coverage in several rooms - including our office. We told him that we needed coverage for the entire house, especially in the place from which we work - the office. He tried again. If he managed to get coverage, speeds were too slow for use. By the way, they told us we needed a totally new top of the line system with satellite extenders, and later we saw that the house already had such a system installed, and we never actually needed it in the first place. But I digress.The second tech that came out was eventually able to move around the pieces so we actually had coverage in all of our rooms with good speed, but it took several days, lots of holes, and frustration. He then began to work on the Control 4 system, while complaining about other customers, and thats when he said the above quote.Those TVs we asked to hook up? Turns out to actually make them work, they now had a new estimate and asked us to spend an additional $50K in parts and labor to get the AV system to a functioning level.He didnt complete the rest of the work and ultimately left us in May with a partially programmed Control 4 system that worked only in 2 rooms. They didnt finish programming the system to integrate lighting, sound, and other Control 4 features, which was within the original scope of work.So we had a conversation with the owner. He promised to send his best people this time and not the new guys. He apologized for that.Its now September. Fast forward to this week, the techs finally came out and had difficulties doing a simple television mount and install. They not only installed the TV crooked, which is puzzling since they had a level, they didnt install it at the height we requested, even though it was marked with a pencil. They argued that we didnt tell them to hang the TV there. So they angrily and hastily redrilled holes, left saw dust and debris all over our center speaker and actually packed up their tools and left when we werent looking. They, of course left boxes, and other garbage behind.We called and asked them where they went, if they were coming back, and why they didnt complete the work they said they would do. Amongst other things, we talked about how we paid them to hook up our surround speakers in our living room and asked why they only hooked up the front two speakers. The tech insisted that people only use two fronts anyway and no one needs surround unless they are watching movies with airplanes in it. We laughed and said thats simply not true. So things took a turn for the worse and they said they will not come back to finish the job, insulted us, and said to call the home office.Photo below is after I set a level on the obviously crooked TV mounting just now. We were charged over $800 in labor alone for just that TV mount, BTW. I have an entire library of photos and could go on and on about their subpar work but it seems pointless to post.No one in this company stands behind their work.TLDR: Look elsewhere if you value a job done properly, on time, and even remotely close to the quote they initially give you.

We moved into a home that had old Control4 technology and had to get everything updated. They did a great job making sure everything we needed was done. Even during the pandemic they were able to efficiently get all our requests done and we will continue to use their services for the foreseeable future. Thanks again for all the help!

Ive been with Desert Valley audio for 7 years. They designed and installed my system and have serviced it and upgraded it as my needs have changed. Jen, at the front desk, is always quick to respond and the entire staff has been great to work with. They definitely know what they are doing and they have done a lot of custom programming for me.

Manuel came by and very efficiently assessed my problem (Nest doorbell not working). He was very professional and walked me thru each step such that I have a full understanding of the problem, what he did, and why.

Manuel was so professional and courteous and he had the patience of a saint. Due to a circumstance out of his control, he had to come back a couple of times. We have a houseful of guests coming this weekend and his concern for us to have our new tv up and running was just wonderful. He had to order a special part and prioritized us as a customer. We are so grateful. Desert Valley Audio did all of our wiring in our new home and installed all six of our TVs about 18 months ago and we experienced the same level of service with this service call as we did back then. I am very happy with the creative solution that James C. came up with to optimize the 4 zone amplifier. I thought my only solution was to upgrade the system, but James came up with a solution to combine some zones that are typically used together and separate the others. I appreciate the creativity and willingness to work with me on identifying a solution!

I have used them for over 10 years now. They did all the original wiring through my house and over time have upgraded to a full rack system with Control 4 home automation and multiple zones both inside and on outside patios and pool area. They have always been great with helping on issues and upgrades over time. I would recommend them to anyone.

I couldnt be happier with the work performed, and quality of service, by Desert Valleys electrical team. I had already used the DV A/V team to turn my newly purchased home into a bona fide smart home...and then more recently, I turned to them to completely revitalize the lighting in my home. They expertly walked me through the various options in terms of more modernized lighting/bulb/LED strategies, and then once we chose a path, they immediately went to work on executing the plan. The DV team of electricians, led by Jon, had to (courteously) navigate my at-home kids and pets, etc., but skillfully finished the project in less time than originally estimated...even with my wife and I adding a few new wrinkle requests along the way. Thanks to them, my house now looks (and feels) about 20 years newer. I highly recommend deploying DV for any electrical/lighting needs and/or wants.

DVAV customer service has severely diminished over the years. We spent over 70K on a complete C4 home automation system, including A/V, lighting, security cameras throughout our home several years ago. After a few years of using them to routinely service our system, I went with another vendor because I was not getting quality and timely servicing on our very large system. My current vendor is no where to be found so I asked DVAV to service our system again. They booked an appointment for me 2 weeks out, only to get an email from Thomas Stewart, their general manager, flat out refusing to service the system they originally installed because I used another vendor! Hands down horrible customer service. For the ludicrous amount of money we spent on the initial systems and thousands more over the years to maintain it, I would expect to be treated much better. Thomas email was cold and apathetic. If you are planning a large install, I would go somewhere else- there are better companies out there.

James is the man. He was a pleasure to have in my home and handled my problem like a pro!

The day before the Super Bowl our Control 4 handheld unit went on the fritz.When I took the unit over to the store, Ben confirmed that it would not power up and handed me a new unit! If you are needing to get your home set up with a sound system, your first call should be to Desert Valley Audio.We had them install a new speaker and Control4 sound system in our previous home, and it was awesome! Having music in each room of the house..even outside...really changed the feel of our home!We recently moved into a new home that already had a speaker system through the house, but no amp. Thankfully, we took our Control4 amp with us, and the team at Desert Valley Audio was happy to help get it set up for us. And the results FAR exceeded our expectations! We have a four channel Control4 system, so we were thinking that we could only get four zones (out of the 8 in the entire house) hooked up. But Vance, our technician, took a look around, understood what our goals were, and was ended up getting all eight zones set up for playing music!! Way to go, Vance!!Vance, Ben and the team at Desert Valley audio were so friendly, easy to work with and reasonably priced. We couldnt be happier with the results, and will definitely be recommending them to all of our friends, and using them when we eventually upgrade our system.

We recently purchased a winter home in Scottsdale and wanted to do some upgrades before moving in. I have been working with Desert Valley for a few years now, and their service continues to be impressive. They installed a stereo system and TVs throughout our home as well as a Control 4 system. The install was professional and efficient, and the follow-up has continued in the same fashion. Theres never been an issue they didnt solve in a timely fashion. They are responsive and easy to work with, and I would highly recommend them for all audio and video needs.

I had Desert Audio Video install a complete home system, televisions, music system, including cameras and security system. They were efficient, prompt, and did excellent work. If I ever have any little issue, they are always very helpful and get right out to take care of it. Desert Valley did an amazing job setting up our control4 system in our condo. They hung TVs in 3 rooms and set up a surround sound system in the living room and master bedroom, which has worked flawlessly for months (I love the streaming music features). This company is the best everrrrrrrI have a control 4 system and my husband is often on business trip and every time I have a problem with it I send an email to the office and most of the time they can fix it from there and as an example this morning I sent them an email because I had a problem with the app where my pictures would not open on theCamera app and I swear within 10 minutes they called me to tell me they fixed it. I checked and yes it was working. I had 2 company in the past and they were so bad that this new company had to change quite a few things that were installed originally and was not working but this company fixed it all. They r excellent.So trust me if you r looking for a great control 4 company here they r.

Desert Valley AV is a first class company with knowledgeable and friendly employees. We have used them several times and they always go above and beyond to make the experience as seamless as possible. When we do have an issue, James has been right on top of it and fixes it.

We bought a home that had very old WiFi and audio systems and no home automation. I discussed the project with three companies and decided to go with Desert Valley Audio Video. They were neither the cheapest nor the most expensive. I can say, without reservation, that we made an excellent decision. The entire team is knowledgeable and very professional. The office is easy to talk to and responsive. As expected, the project hit some snags due to the old system limitations but there was never any issue with knowing how to manage and work around it. There were a couple of times that their tech team worked into the evening to ensure we were fully operational before they departed. Knowledgeable, professional and dedicated...I will use them again.

Our home was in need of a technical make-over from an audio perspective. I called several places to get an estimate. Desert Valley responded very quickly and sent Ben to our home to determine our needs and quote a price. This process went very smooth. The equipment recommended met our needs and was quoted at a reasonable price as compared to another quote we received. Dennis and Justin were the technicians that came to install the equipment. They were both very pleasant to work with and very patient in dealing with us who are not all that technically savy. The work was done promptly and every thing was well tested. I had to get the COX minibox installed to my bedroom TV. Jeff from Desert Valley AV came out yesterday and performed all the work and did an excellent job. The new box required a software update and some trouble shooting that he did a superb job with getting everything to work. In addition he helped with some questions on Control 4. I have always been impressed with the support that they have given after the initial installation 3 years ago. If you are to have some A/V work done I would recommend them!!!

I spent a lot of money to set up home automation for a new home. Home was not pre wired correctly and installer missed a lot of items I requested. Owner took no ownership and really did nothing to resolve the issue. I would have rated them a 1 of it wasnt for Carlos and a few of their other installers. I would not recommend them unless you are there to manage the project yourself

I work for a Advertising Agency called Colling Media and we had them do some commercial AV work. These guys were fantastic and did a spectacular job. Dennis and Justin were the guys that did our install work and we couldnt be happier with it. Highly recommended.

Thomas and team are excellent. They helped us with our Control 4 System, improved the picture quality on our TV, and walked us through the security system. Very professional, efficient and patiently helped us understand how to use our equipment and systems.

I have been using Desert Valley Audio for over four years. They have installed televisions, interior and exterior speakers, a new receiver and programed a universal remote. They have always been professional, timely and friendly. My next project will be another set of exterior speakers. Scott did most of the installation and programmed a universal remote that is actually easy to use--expensive but worth the price. I had originally posted a very negative review. After expressing my displeasure the manager and owner provided me with a written plan of corrective action to address everyone of my concerns. That is all any customer can ever ask. That if they do have a complaint the business is willing to make things right.I applaud the staff in particular James for his willingness to listen to my complaints and address problems with the home installation including issues with a missing piece of equipment and electric blinds that were not their primary responsibility.Revision. 10-9-2019Now it’s 4 months later and countless promises unkept. I fired them and now must find someone else to complete the job.I did my best to work with this company. I have never seen such sloppy work or disrespect for expensive equipment in my life. They left my cabinets and Classe amp/pre-amp riddled with trash and dust whichforced me to clean and redo some of there work myself.I could spend pages listing all the promises they failed to live up to.James may have claimed they would make good on his word but rarely did or had the courtesy to even answer emails.Maybe if all you need is a set of speakers installed this company is fine.I needed a company to give me whole house complete automation including music, lighting, shades, thermostats and security on a multimillion dollar home remodel. An AV job costing tens of thousands or more.These people are TOTALLY incapable of that kind of work and inept. Worse yet they lie claiming they are when they don’t even work to provide honest decent customer service. There is zero communication between them or with the customer.Avoid them at all costs. The worst customer experience of my life bar none!

We took a long time to decide which A/V company to hire. We talked to three different companies and rated them good, better, best. Desert Valley A/V came out as the best, so we decided to pull the trigger. From the beginning, Justin and team were very professional and answered my multitude of questions.It was really nice to be able to see and hear the products we were purchasing in the showroom. This gave me peace of mind. Our home was built in 1950, so it provided a few challenges with our plaster walls and ceiling. The installation team did a great job of making everything fit nicely. We ended up putting an 8 zone Control 4 system in our home. This gives us the ability to play whatever where ever we want to. We can access everything through our iPhones and iPads, which is really easy to do. We had Desert Valley install surround in the family room, and speakers in each bedroom, by the pool, bbq, and in the sun room. We are excited to have the ability to so many options of listening to music in the different zones, and blasting football games throughout the house.I would highly recommend Desert Valley to any of my friends and family.

My wife and I moved into our new home in Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale in May 2014. We needed TV’s everywhere (7 in total) and three (3) were way beyond my install capabilities…we found Desert Valley AV thru a recommendation from a car stereo installer. The Team from DVAV installed a 65” Samsung over our fireplace in the formal living room along with a Yamaha stereo system and my Sirius. Also installed was a 55” Samsung mounted near the ceiling in our master bedroom and a 32” on the wall in our master bath. All of these installations required both electrical and cable wiring which DVAV can do. All wires were buried in the sheet-rock walls which were spackled and then repainted…the installations turned-out just great and we are very happy. I would highly recommend Desert Valley Audio Video owned by Justin Worley and his wife Stacy to do any AV-type installations you might be contemplating.
