I inherited a 300 year old French chest that was missing eight of the pins that hold the metal trim pieces. I sent one to ArtFactory hoping they could make some new ones. Instead, one of their employees who is a collector had almost identical pins on hand. They refinished them to match the old one. After replacing the missing pins, the chest is gorgeous! Im thrilled with their work and extremely helpful attitude.

Excellent service from start to finish. The salesperson was knowledgeable and very helpful in explaining the options for my custom project. The drawings produced prior to production allowed me to fine tune my design. I self-installed the doors and found it very easy due to the excellent craftsmanship of the doors and surrounding frame. The quality of the thick cypress doors exceeded my expectations and the handcrafted hardware complemented the doors perfectly. From start to finish, including the delivery of the doors, I could not have been more pleased.

We are extremely satisfied with the workmanship and quality of our Art Factory entry door. When you contract with a company that custom designs your dream project you just have to know that it will take time and there can be delays. This is not a fast furniture factory but a business of designers and artisans. You must have patience. Art Factory worked with us through the planning and design phase, where we changed our mind on numerous occasions and had to back-track. No problem. Change this, change that, make this larger, move this over there. it didnt matter. It was our door and our design. Art Factory worked with us to get us what we wanted, and when it arrived on our doorstep (the freight company was very personal by the way), we knew it was worth the wait. The craftsmanship is professional and of artisan quality. This is truly old world craftsmanship and it is wonderful to see it in todays world of instant gratification. Whatever it is that you order, we feel sure it will be an amazing piece that will be with your family or in your home for generations.

Was able to customize an existing design for my specific installation. ArtFactory was helpful from start to finish, great designers and excellent quality product - only negative was a delay in the promised completion time that got frustrating. But art like this takes time, and my new fixture looks like it was made for my dining room...because it was! For a US Military project I was tasked with replicating (6) WWII Case knife door pulls. After communicating with several other local east coast artists who said it could not be done, I turned skeptically to the internet. Scottsdale Art Factory website and samples projects were of a caliber that if set them apart from their competition. With just pictures and simple measurements of a museum knife the staff spent countless hours perfecting the design and crafting 6 custom pieces art, that also function to open doors. The accolades and complements I received when the door handles were placed on the doors secured me several new construction projects. I purchased our Front door 6 years ago, and was told it would be 6 to 8 months before we would receive. I, like everybody chose to hear 6-months. It was All of 8 months and it was delivered and once we put it in, Was, and AM, Very Happy with our Entry. We get comments every time someone walks through it, or up to it.Any time I need oil, or anything Karla has always responded and sends me whatever I need., at NO CHARGE.Calculating exactly when a CUSTOM door, or anything else, custom made will really be done is hard. Sometimes it is a good guess and sometime you have to wait for quality. Why is it when we people order something we are always ready to understand but after we put our $ down we want it NOW..I have been dealing with Scottsdale Art Factory for 6 years now on projects, and Never been disappointed in the End results.I continue to refer my Friends and clients, as I feel they do Quality work.

We were told that we could not have a wood door in a northern climate. We wanted a round top Castle style door. We found The Art Factory and in Scottsdale and we could not be happier. It has been 7 years since we have had the door installed. It remains a beautiful feature that greets everyone who comes to our home (and is a wonderful conversation piece). We do some light touch up on it yearly to maintain it and it is our hope that the door will remain long after we are gone. The design staff and follow-up team have all been wonderful to work with. I cant say enough about the quality and craftsmanship of the doors we purchased. The carving is intricate and beautiful. We started with a design they had in pictures and added a few touches of our own including animals our kids picked out. The glass turned out perfect as a privacy glass, easy to clean and still lets in light.Our house doesnt do the doors justice yet. We have plans to redo the trim in a larger profile and have the color picked already to match the doors. We look at the doors every single day and are glad we have one exceptional, standout piece of art to push us to finish the remodel.Definitely would recommend. I also would like to comment on a few of the reviews as I read nearly all of them in making a decision to go with a company from the internet. ArtFactorys name is a little misleading - they do more business than a single crafter - so I guess factory works, but their people on staff are master craftsman and it shows in the work. It took quite a while to get the doors, and it was worth the wait - Id likely not recommend this if youre on a tight schedule - there is no rushing something like this to do it right.Sending the price of a small car by wire to a company Id never seen was a bit of a leap of faith, but it was rewarded with a beautiful product that a few extremely talented people put some serious labor of love into. Things I looked into were the Google Map of their physical location (checked out), their many, MANY pictures of completed projects, all their reviews, and finally calling (more than once) and talking to more than one person in their studio. It all checked out and gave me the confidence to pull the trigger. If youre considering it, check them out for sure.Working with the designer provided an excellent sketch of the final product, quality and craftsmanship were great, shipping was perfect, and their follow up on my questions regarding the installation and care/maintenance were quick.Pictures show the exterior with one coat of the protective finish they recommended after going through a winter (the really cold kind with lots of snow).

I had to match and reproduce custom 100 year-old door pulls for large church doors. I finally found ArtFactory as one of the few companies who would be willing to undertake the task. I spoke to Karla who was very accommodating and helpful. Once I got the door pulls, they were beautiful cast iron and made to the exact specifications and measurements I needed. Wonderful, handcrafted workmanship. I will use this company again for my doors and hardware.

We are repeat customer. The Art Factory designed and built a stunning custom door and custom hardware for our log home approx 14 yrs ago.Our beautiful log home burned down in the forest fire of 2018. The only thing that survived the devastating fire was the hand forged door hardware.We recently purchased a Fixer-Upper home. We ordered another custom door from the Art Factory for this house. (It was like talking to old friends. The same staff & craftsman were there as in 2007. That alone speaks volumes.) They were so kind and accommodating. If what you seek is unique, look no more. High quality workmanship with strong design on solid materials and hardware. Great people to deal with. My single, 4 inch thick x 8 foot tall front door weighs 350 plus pounds but opens and closes with two fingers. Pick from the dozens and dozens of designs, modify to your eye, and you will have a piece like no other in the neighborhood. Highly recommend!

I found a beautiful dragon door knocker, and once seen i knew it would be so perfect for my door in North Wales and nothing else would do!Although the order took 10 weeks, i had easy communications throughout. Once it was finally ready, it only took 5 days to arrive! Very impressed! But i was even more impressed by the beautiful bespoke craftsmanship! I bought my door from The Art Factory less than 10yrs ago. I was assured that it was high quality handmade craftsmanship, constructed from antique cedar with 10 layers of stain. It does appear to be on first sight. Maybe its that youre so amazed to finally get the product you paid so much for, that you forget to give it the fine tooth comb once over. I inquired about the finish and sealing process during the planning/ordering process as I live in a very humid area, not Arizona. I was assured that the 10 layers of stain would be enough. It was not. I have loose panels that wiggle in place and a piece of wood in the middle of my door that pops out and has to be knocked back into place on a regular basis. Its obvious that dowel joints were not used here, so much for high quality craftsmanship I guess. My entire door and the wood around my sidelight windows is covered in gray mildew. My door is on a covered porch, not directly exposed to Sun, Rain or Snow. Im now having to scrub and sand a $10K door so that I can do something that should have been done by its maker(seal the door), since they knew its destination. Oh, I dont believe the 10 layers of stain story either. I barely touched the door with sandpaper and it was down to bare wood. I figured this when my child accidentally scratched the door with a key while unlocking it and I could see bare wood in the tiny scratch. I agree with another review that says they are happy to take the money and you become a non-priority. I realize custom doesnt happen over-night, but this is a design you offered on your site. I also experienced the same thing as others spoke of where you call asking for status for months and nothing.The door was beautiful upon pick up but it took no time at all to start the deterioration process that I was afraid of. My suggestion, read all of the reviews to include the attitude of the responses from the company before deciding to do business here. I would have uploaded a picture for proof but it didnt give me an option to.

Fabulous door for our cabin. Great people to work with in the design department. Only complaint is their shipping department. We drove to our cabin to receive the door only to find out the woman in charge of their delivery department had failed to make arrangements for delivery. We ended up paying an exorbitant fee for delivery to have it brought up the next day! Very disappointed with that part of the process.

My front door vision was a bit of a mix between a dreamy old fairy tale cottage door, and a solid industrial looking wood door. I could draw it up on paper, but it was impossible to find online. I spent months looking for someone/someplace who could design and build a large super strong door that was yet artsy and dreamy. After the first few interactions, the Scottsdale Art Factory had the door drawn up as I wanted it and send me stain samples to choose from. It took several months to create the door, but I would not have expected it to be done immediately, these things take time. They met their timeline. The door is now installed and really adds a lot of character to my home. Everyone is blown away by the door, its hard to describe, but its absolutely gorgeous and you cant miss it when you tour the home, its a statement piece in itself. Im so happy I bought my front door and custom hardware from the SAF and I would recommend their products to my friends, and I would definitely buy from them again!

We purchased a custom antler chandelier, for which I had very specific requirements in the design and final look. The designers and fabricators got it exactly right the first time! Its a beautiful creation that greatly exceeded my expectations. Furthermore, I had a serious mishap while transporting the crate in which it tumbled and dropped 5 feet -- the chandelier escaped with only a single cracked tip of an antler. Obviously, great care was taken to insure that the package was well protected in shipment. From start to finish these craftsmen pay strict attention to every detail. I could not recommend more highly the choice I made to work with them, then and on subsequent projects.

Im not sure who the people are leaving a 1 star are but I can only assume they are competitors trying to ruin a friendly and awesome Quality company. If you think your going to order something and they are going to be ready within a few weeks then dont order a custom piece. Now if you want some of the finest quality, nicest workmen ship and are willing to wait then order up! Remember your getting something that was made by hand not in a factory. First day I called I talked with Karla Cox and what can I say she was awesome! Super friendly knew exactly what I want to do. I needed handles for a refrigerator. She sent out samples of metal for approval. Handles look amazing!

I ordered 1 chandelier and a pair of lamps from this company. It took 1 year to receive my chandelier and 6 months to get a pair of lamps. They were happy to communicate to give me a quote and take the order, but nearly impossible to reach once it was in production. I am a professional interior designer of 10+ years and would not recommend this business.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS SHADY COMPANY. I ordered a gate (later to find out it was a stock item from other companies, not customized) and when it was ready to ship 8 months later, they refused to ship to me because of the tone of my voice over the phone. Roger emailed me that the gate was going to be 3,600 pounds so I spent $7k to get heavy steel beams placed and concrete poured. Later to find out when I called to verify shipping, I said I was very surprised that the gate weighs 3,600 pounds. The guy on the phone said, who told you that? I sent him the email and he said it was a mistake. It was only 1200 pounds total. The CEO emailed me the next day and said that they will refuse to do business with a disgruntled customer?! I received the refund check 1.5 weeks later. So now, I have NO gate 8 months later. Only steel beams with concrete that cost me $7,000. They are quick to take the money, and they never tell you where they are at in the process of manufacturing the gate. This whole company is shady and it cost me time, aggravation and and extra $7k. I will be contacting the BBB today.

Earlier this year I had 2 large, carved hickory front doors refinished, and wanted to appoint hardware befitting of their stature and style. During a Google search for custom wrought iron hardware, I came across the ArtFactory. After an initial query, Karla emailed me back and asked for photos, dimensions, and any examples from the website that appealed to me. She came back with a list of options for the handles, hinges, deadbolts, knockers, etc, that she thought would complement the doors. After deciding on a style, Karla sent me 3 actual samples of wrought iron bars with different finishes for me to choose from. Finally the plan was in place, and the work began. I knew these were custom, hand-wrought pieces, and that it would likely take some time to produce. After about 6 weeks, the pieces arrived--meticulously wrapped to prevent any damage (not that anything could hurt these massive pieces!), and I could not be more pleased--with the product, or with the excellent service Karla rendered. While not cheap, you get what you pay for, and I have no reservations at all about highly recommending ArtFactory for your special custom hardware project.

Awful customer experience! I asked for fireplace mantle brackets to be created by Roger over 3 months ago. I heard excuses such as a busy holiday season, a fire in the building, trying to find time with the blacksmiths, etc. Finally after 10+ phone calls from me to Roger, he said he just cant find time to make the brackets. Seriously? Who puts someone on hold for 3 months and then says I just cant make the time. I was never a priority and he said there were bigger jobs ahead of me. So much for small fish in the pond. Also, knowing that he is a Minnesota native, he lost his Minnesota Nice card. Boooooooo to you Roger!

The Art Factory sold us a custom, hand-carved door in April of 2012. After agreeing on design specifications in June of 2012 we paid The Art Factory up-front for a door, that under contract, was going to take (75) working days to complete.We finally received the door on April 15, 2013 (180 +/- working days), and this only after our last ditch effort to understand the status of completion of our door and having to threaten legal action.The Art Factory is the most difficult and strangest group of people I have encountered in the business arena and I have enjoyed a 35 year career in the construction industry. We were refused updates on the progress of our door, phone calls and emails sent to The Art Factory were unanswered and when answered sarcastic comments such as “if you want your door sooner please sign a waiver that gang-carving the door is acceptable to you”. This after just asking for updates on completion and shipping dates as the completion time was 105 working days late with absolutely NO communication from The Art Factory on the status.The finish product looks beautiful, but for the beetle-kill wood used. Upon closer inspection there are massive gaps in the wood due to beetle burrowing.I would not recommend purchasing a door from The Art Factory. There are many other companies that hand-carve custom doors and I would suggest working with any of those.

They stole images from my website and are pretending its their product. Its their secret policy, as all of their images are stolen. Read up on the reviews before you buy from these crooks!
