Randy and Mike are gurus. Polite while selling vintage guitars. Extremely fair and and old school feel that brought back memories back when I was in the music industry in regards to distribution and working for a label.
Randy and Nick took care of my guitar needs and got my Taylor sounding great thanks Guitar Gallery!
Dont go to guitar center. These guys actually know what theyre doing.
What really nice guys, on site repair and for old town Scottsdale. They arent even pretentious, and their prices are reasonable.
Look no further. Great folks, awesome expertise/ service and vibe. Only shop Ill go to for work on my guitars and basses!
Friendly, knowledgeable, fair prices
This place is amazing, the crew who work here are super nice and genuine.they also are extremely knowledgeable. will always come here for my guitar needs.
I brought in my guitar for repair due to several issues that had arisen. They not only replaced my pickup switch, but they actually discovered a broken wire in my pickup winding that was causing it to cut out and repaired it. Fortunately just a few winds in so no new pickup needed. Very impressed with these guys, they even rewired the push pull knobs allowing for a better tone.My Washburn A-20 is a special guitar for me and these guys brought it back to life.I highly recommend this shop. They are busy, so dont expect your repair completed overnight.
Excellent guitar shop. Having a bass gone through and picked up a pedal and new to me squire. Great guys everyone of them.
I really hope that anybody that has read the not so positive reviews of this store also noticed that the root of the complaints are very personal in the since that someone feels a certain way because of some expectation that wasn’t met to there benefit. Because (in my opinion) there isn’t a better guitar store 200 miles in any direction. It is a smaller brick and mortar shop with a amazing variety of guitars, that is always changing, and cover a fairly large price range for most budgets. This is the kind of guitar store that you find that gem you’ve been looking for for years. This is the store you go to when your instrument isn’t performing the way you want it to. This is the place you can feel comfortable trying out gear at whatever experience level you are and feel encouraged by the staff and the quality instrument. I saw a comment where someone had mentioned that there prices on some of the used gear was too high and near what it would cost new. What they failed to mention is that every guitar I have ever picked up in this store is already set up nice and ready to play. The used guitars I’ve seen that they have had priced close to new have all had either some sort of high end upgrades, or was a special or limited edition model or was simply so barely used it’s basically a new guitar. If you took the time to read my review please do yourself the favor of checking these guys out, you’ll be very happy that you did. I just need to add one more important piece of information about my experiences here and that is that nobody is going to try to sell you a damn thing. They let the guitars sell themselves as they fall into the hands they belong in.
Im fortunate to live/work just a few miles from this shop but Id gladly travel a considerable distance for their honest and high quality work/knowledge of guitar repair/maintenance which is always at a very fair and reasonable cost. Randy and Dave are a couple of the best luthiers around and I implicitly trust their advice and skills whenever I leave one of my basses in their care. Nick is always friendly, helpful and a wealth of information. An easy-going place to stop in, talk shop, ask questions and see what sort of gem-like instruments and gear they have available to sample no matter what your level of playing experience.
As a teenager, I used to regularly visit a large indie music store in Chicago. and while I could only afford to gaze, the staff never made me feel like I was a nuisance. Guitar Gallery rekindles that vibe, only BETTER! Its intimate enough so that informative convos with staff and other customers are typical and rewarding. Having a luthier onsite is so valuable.I brought my Rick 360 in for a wiring correction. Randy walked me through everything he inspected, repaired; took questions, offered clarity. We talked guitar brand pros & cons, and offered valuable perspective as I surveyed their always-changing Used inventory. He also shared Breaking News that GG will be a new authorized DAngelico guitar dealer.Even though theyre a good 35 minutes from our Gilbert home, this is just a fun, worthwhile, downright therapeutic atmosphere to experience. If you want to experience a throwback to a simpler time in music, Id recommend you take the trip and drink this place in!
Absolute Worst. Do not take your guitar into their service center. This place doesnt know what they are doing. I had a rewire that needed to be done. I was charged for 6 rewires! They charged to take the strings off $10 and then another $10 to put them back on. Not including the price of the strings which was $7.99. (understandable) I was not asked what gauge or kind of strings I would like on my guitar. I was charged for (vintage wiring) as well. When I got home to check the work, the capacitors were on the pickup terminals and not the switch terminals which is correct 50s wiring. There is also an unnecessary ground. So now every time my finger touches the knob pointer I get very loud buzzing. All of this cost me a total of $94.04. Did I mention this rewire took 3 weeks? Also back to the strings for a minute. They were not even in the saddle slots (ABR-1) very VERY poor attention to detail. Will never be back to the Guitar Gallery and will always highly deter anyone I know from going there for work on any instruments.
These guys are fantastic! Totally easy to work with, great vibe right when you walk in. And great work on the instruments in their care. I love little shops like this. The truest form of love for craft comes from spots like this. Skip Guitar Center, and go see these guys.
Great place, great guitars. The guys there are super helpful and do it with a great attitude. Much preferable buying experience over guitar center.
This is a classic guitar store with real musicians and cool guitars. NOT your big box store. The people that shop there just want to play music, take lessons or dig the small shop vibe. I do all of that too. Including bought my a Telecaster there. They have on site luthier that builds custom guitars and repairs old ones. My Taylor acoustic has split several times due to the desert dry air and they have fixed it perfectly each time and at reasonable price.
These guys are the real deal. True pros. Amazing collection of guitars/pedals and amps. They did an incredible job helping finish my complex pedalboard. Best shop in town for quality service and products.
Great service. Very friendly.
SERIOUSLY!!! If you want quality and optimal customer service...YOU MUST GO THERE!! Nothing short of the best! Its not a visit...its an experience! I wont go anywhere else! These guys are the best!
Great Staff and amazing selection of new and historic guitars. Heavily recommend for the sense of covid safety and product availability and selection
Nick and team deserve better rating. I went there for fixing the amp output jack that has fallen inside semi-hollow body guitar. Not only they were quick (I admit I was the only customer that time) but also took care of intonation at a very minimal cost.
I had been to 3 experts in the valley and my guitar was still not right. I happened upon Guitar Gallery and it said they have a luthier that graduated from a local school. I checked it out and sure enough Dave Ayres appears on their list of graduates. So I called and made an appointment. To my disappointment Dave did not show, a guy named Randy met me. Well here we go again, right. Well Randy fixed my guitar better than its ever been! Possibly better than when it was new in 1969. Im deducting a quarter of a star because Dave didnt show and the head stock was smudged when I got it back. Other than that I highly recommend Randy. As far as Dave, couldnt tell you, never met the guy. Everyone else I met there is terrific.
Love this shop. They had repaired my old Fender Telecaster for a very reasonable price. I needed cables and the price was lower than I thought it would be. Nice, professional and friendly service and great guitars and stuff to drool over. They also give lessons. There are shops closer but I always know they will be fair and helpful. Now I am going to go back and make my guitar strenuously cry. If you did not get that one then I am very sorry for you.
Ive bought 2 guitars from these guys - both were special finds. Great service, extremely knowledgeable, great teachers if you want to get serious about playing or just learn the basics. The builders/maintenance guys are know so much. Definitely happy with this shop.
I took my new Strat in for a set up. They were AWESOME once again!!! Dave the guitar tech was extremely nice and thorough when asking what I’d like done. Really fast turn around! The guitar came back feeling and sounding great! All the guys there are really friendly and welcoming! Definitely recommend!
This place is awesome! I have had 2 of my guitars repaired/serviced by chuck who is a cool guy. Every time I go in there it is a good welcoming vibe. They are knowledgeable and your getting the feeling that they are selling you what you need, not what is the most expensive. Cool Place, Cool people. Definitely check it out, and if you need service Chuck is your man. Without having to shop around he is going to give you the best price and youll get A++ work. Thanks Chuck!
Disappointed at best. Went in today having forgotten about this place. They have some cool stuff, However.. Their pricing is outrageous!Example: Theyre selling a used Marshall JCM 900 DR for $1500? . Thats almost Double of what they go for at G.C, Ebay & reverb. I told the guy what i thought of his pricing and he gave me some story that is a different model, like his is unique. or something special. Theres only 3 JMC900 models, which were offered with 3 different types of power tubes. Ive played Marshalls for over 40 years have owned & still own many. Dont insult me, please! . So, I walked out. Was trying to support a local business instead of G.C. Oh well.
Bought a guitar today from these guys. Very knowledgable staff with personalized service. Fantastic selection of guitars and accessories. Highly recommend and would purchase again from this shop.
I stopped by here earlier today and have to say the customer service is superb and their knowledge of their gear second to none. The prices on the amps and guitars which I know well were fair and reasonable but I obviously cant speak to each and every item. Their collection of used used and new gear is a lot nicer than youd typically expect from shops of this size. Their prices for a setup was pretty reasonable given the expertise they demonstrated in conversation.
This is one of the guitar stores you have to do business with.Sure another reviewer WHINED about the selection, but what do you expect from a smaller store, I am not being mean but you have to lower your expectations when you are not going to a big box store.I found the service great and friendly, and the selection suited my needs.I purchased a used guitar for a decent price from them and I am very satisfied with my purchase and I will buy from them again.Check em out, give them a shot, you wont be disappointed.
Totally impressed!!! Mike is a very knowledgeable musician who does recommend the best for what you need. No bull at all!!! From today on, I am a loyal customer!
Do not do business here.I discussed a great sounding vintage amp they had in stock with the owner and was told it was priced high. Until I decided to buy it, at which point the price was entirely justified.Nick attempted to hold gear of mine and attack my integrity when I opposed their 10-day return policy, which he explicitly misrepresented to me prior to a purchase earlier last month. There are better alternatives with more extensive inventory beyond Reverend guitars and soft cases.
I went in for an appraisal and the guys who work there were incredibly nice and professional.
Wonderful guitar shop! Mike, Nick & Dave (repair/builder) are all three some of the most knowledgeable fellas in the industry. Buy from Guitar Gallery, you wont be sorry.
Had Chuck do some restoration work on a guitar. Very good work at what I considered to be a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to have him do additional restoration, or to recommend him to others. Guitar selection is less than a big store like Guitar Center, but still a very good selection of new and used gear.
Very friendly, decent prices, small non-corporate music store. Recommended.
These guys are great. Extremely honest and extremely fair prices . They also have a good selection on a weekly basis and the repair shop is fantastic they know what theyre doing with guitars
My guitar fell out of its rack and had a nick and a big gouge and they fixed the damage to the point where I cant even see where there was any. They did a great job.
Fantastic place to bring your guitars for repairs, and buy guitars, and other instruments, and musical items. Staff is terrific!
After having an amp repaired there I had questions on how to best use it into the Bands PA. The amp repairman not only answered my question, but did some research and called me back later. It isnt the closest place to where I live to get my amp repaired but it is worth the drive.
This place is like my all time fave guitar shop they have vintage guitars and more at this place with strings and its the best thing this planet has to offer
Awesome job on set up and quick turnaround.
Out of three people working there not one bothered to acknowledge my presence. One walked in, I thought he was a customer, and as I passed him I said hey how are ya and he just looked at me and walked past me without a word but a look on his face like eww, why are you talking to me. Then he got on the phone and I realized he worked there too. SO I WALK AROUND in circles planning on buying an ESP LTD they had hanging up for a decent price - for like 30 minutes... Still too busy to approach or acknowledge me... Oh well they didnt sell the guitar. The prices on the other guitars hanging were way too high for what they were... One, although vintage, showed signs of water damage and the neck was warping, they wanted $2400. I dont care whos guitar it might have been when the wood is that damaged its not worth it.
Great prices and friendly staff! Highly recommended for your guitar needs in Scottsdale
Super cool staff, good selection, always worth a visit. Work done has been first rate, whether I brought in a high end, or even a much more modest instrument.
Its everything a guitar shop should be! Knowledgeable staff who Love music! This is the only place I need for guitars, gear, or a setup. Best guitar shop in the Phoenix area.
Small store. Knowledgeable staff. A few instruments sold on consignment.
Hi, I would like to say that it is helpful for beginning students. However, would you correct a misspelling: In Spanish, the word for index is índice.thanks
Paid $125 to Richard Beck Guitar Repair for treble bleed on volume pot & Duncan JB jr strat mini humbucker PU install, supplied him with 2 sets of strings (10-46 and 10-52) and when I got guitar back the Duncan bridge PU was wired to tone instead of wide open like it should have been (and which Beck and I already discussed) and had one set of strings missing! Called Rich and was told wiring must have broken on tone which is crap because there WAS no tone wiring to the bridge pickup since it had a Fralin Blues Special loaded pickguard, and was also told rather than crediting me back the $5 for the extra strings that hed mail them to me...sure, and Im still waiting for them! After finally getting a newer car good enough to drive back to Scottsdale, I took the guitar back to my reliable tech David Ayers at Guitar Gallery to remove bridge PU from tone, diagnose and repair treble bleed with good oil cap style and correct string heights across bridge for a reasonable $60. Had my car been working, I should have taken it to David, but my car was dying and I was much closer to Tempe after I moved to Chandler...lesson learned!
Long time customer here-Mike and Nick are great guitar players and have always showed more than outstanding customer service-they always have what I need-this store has a large selection of used gear -stop by and give them a look
Dave Ayers did a fantastic job on the re-fret of one of my Strats. Hes the only Luthier in town who didnt even blink when I asked him if he ever worked with stainless steel fret wire. Not only did he do an amazing job re-fretting my Strat with stainless steel, he charged me the same price as he wouldve for standard wire! My guitar sounds and feels amazing! Next up are my SG and Les Paul. Dave, youre the MAN!!!
I drove 45 minutes to come here during their open hours. Sign on door at 1:15 said back at 1:45, sorry for the inconvenience. Yeah Im not driving 45 minutes to come back here nor am I going to sit around for 30. Thanks for nothing.
Incredible selection. Knowledgeable staff!
Great local guitar shop with friendly staff.
Great staff and inventory selection.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff!
I went to this store with my friend Sebastian, pro touring guitar player for just about everyone you can imagine at one point or another, to buy a starter guitar for me to begin lessons on. This place was ok but had really nothing like Fender, Gibson or even a Ibanez line to carry for people to choose from. Its mainly stuff? Even my pro guitar shredder guru buddy said that the stuff they had was major over priced for used gear and you could buy new for the same price. But, for what its worth the dude that was working was a nice guy...Id shop online or go to McKnight or to that moron over at Bizarre Guitar. They do both have decent selections and great prices without the Guitar Center crap and vibe.
My wife dropped off a (toy) guitar for restringing and was told it would be $20. I didnt know that and went to pick it up and was charged $29. Posted prices on the website are for $20. On a phone call to clarify they first said $22 and then when we asked why we would be charged $29 they started justifying a price increase!
Great service and knowledgeable guitar techs!
Michael is great to do business with and friendly. Hell help you with anything you need, or just chat about guitars. His shop has some really nice custom boutique builders, both guitars (Ayers, Reverend) and amps (my own Crimsontone, Nace, both local builders). Plus, some really great pedals in the case from Strymon, Catalinbread, and many others. Highly recommend him and his shop.
Top notch craftsmanship and friendly crew. My new go-to shop!
Ive bought guitars and gear from them over many years. The reason I keep going back is they are knowledgeable, friendly and charge a fair price.
Very helpful for a beginner like me
I took in two guitars for setups and tuning. The floyd rose bridge took almost more than 3 weeks for a basic part.
Very knowledgable and helpful !
Quality gear and nice people.
