This was not my first time using lighting unlimited but it will be my last. A few years ago, I purchased 2700k LED light bulbs from them for my recessed can lights. The other day I went in to buy more bulbs for new fixtures that were installed. The salesman convinced me to get a different brand of bulb that he recommended. They were also 2700k LED bulbs. I got home and installed the bulbs in the same room as the other bulbs. The color temperature of the bulbs did not match, so I went back to the store to return the bulbs and get bulbs that matched. They said the bulbs were the correct temperature and would not give me a 100% refund. They said the previously sold bulbs might have had a color shift. They charge me a 30% restocking fee to return the bulbs. Either the previous bulbs changed colors over the two years or the new bulbs were not the correct temperature. Either way, they would not stand behind the products they sold. I went to Home Depot and got a name brand bulb (Philips) and they matched the existing bulbs perfectly. Lighting Unlimited sells cheap product that they do not stand behind. I would not shop there if they were the last place to buy a light bulb. I would go back to using candles.

PLEASE READ! I have been an Electrician here in the valley for 20 yrs. I have referred over a hundred customers to Lighting Unlimited over the years. I used to keep a stack of their business cards in my work truck to pass out to my customers in need of bulbs. They used to sell quality bulbs back in the day of incandescent bulbs.FIRST OFF they have a policy of a 25 dollar minimum purchase. Very annoying if you need a few odd bulbs or a single part. They used to accept cash if it was under 25. Now they dont accept cash at all! They would rather I walk out the door not selling me anything than take cash. I did that today and now Im writing this review.A few months ago a customer went there to buy some light fixtures for their home. They told the employee at the counter that it was for their drywall ceiling in their home. They were sold four fixtures for a commercial T grid ceiling that dont work in a home on a flat ceiling. When they took them back to the store they were charged a $75 restocking fee. What kind of company does this? Sells a customer a totally wrong product then makes money for there own mistake? Doesnt own up to a clear error on their part? I called the manager after hearing this experience from my customer. The manager said it was not their fault for them buying the wrong lights, even though thats what the salesman told them would work for their application.I can only imagine what it would be like trying to have them warranty anything they sell.I have quit referring my customers here. I have even told those that do to go elsewhere. Just wait a few days for shipping and buy your bulbs from 1000bulbs.comThis review was worth writing if I save even one person from Lighting Unlimiteds terrible business practices.

I loved this store! So many choices!! They carry wide range of basic lighting needs and also decorator type choices that helped me expand my mental-world of how I could create major atmosphere changes for little cost. I need not have the work and expense of repainting my rooms, just change the lighting!

Last Friday I went here around 1. I showed the gentleman at the counter a picture of the bulb I needed and asked for 35 of them. He said that they have 10 instock and that I can order the 25 and that they will call me. He did not say anything else about the light bulbs, just that they have what I asked for.I came back and put in the new bulbs. The new ones were yellow compared to what I needed. I looked at the codes on the bulbs and noticed that they gave me the FB40/CWX/6 40 watt bulbs instead of the FB40/DX/6 40 watt that I asked for. I called their office at 1:53pm. I spoke with a sales person named Joe and he told me that they dont have the bulb I need in stock and that they have stopped manufacturing it. He then told me that I can return the bulbs and they will wave the 30% restocking fee if we buy all of the materials to redo our whole office to the new bulbs. He just transferred me to Tony the manager. Tony told me the same thing, trying to get me to buy all new equipment. They didnt seem to understand that they gave me the wrong bulbs.I then called corporate and spoke with John at 2:13pm. I explained my situation and left a message with John and on Shawn Hightowers voicemail. I was told I would be called back by Monday at 2pm. It is now Tuesday, I returned the bulbs (with a 0% refund) seeing that I cant do anything with them. I will never shop their again. They would rather loose a customer for life than try to be an honest business.

This is a wonderful lighting accessories store. The helpful people are knowledgeable and creative. Dont miss an opportunity to pick their brains if you are thinking about installing lights. So many new things to make the average homeowner want to install his own lighting system.

Have you ever had one of those days at work where nothing seems to go right no matter how hard you worked for the customer! Everybody has been there for sure. I had one of those experiences with this company and I was the customer however its not a problem that defines a company! But how they react and respond to their problems! These guys are the real deal theyre honest theyre hard working and they will do whatever they have to do to satisfy a customer within reason! I would highly recommend this company!
