The woman and man that own this shop are delightful. They are both extremely knowledgeable about all types of sewing/fabrics. I visit the shop every time I am near the area.

Small shop, good selection of high quality suiting materials. Quality that youd find in higher $$ mens suits. Variety of cotton quilting fabrics is not as wide as JoAnn Fabrics, but better for business type apparel. Delightful and knowledgeable staff.

Some light googling coupled with sheer luck landed me at Sew Smart Fabrics with two ill-fitting. internet purchased wedding dresses in tow. It was just ten days before my wedding day and I entered the store with the feeling of hopelessness being that the other tailors in the area considered my request mission impossible.The Sew Smart Family not only accepted this undertaking without issue, but also treated me like a queen throughout every fitting and trial. I walked into their shop frazzled and upset and walked out a cool and confident bride to be.I highly recommend Sew Smart Fabrics to anyone looking for efficient and affordable alterations. Thanks to their services, I was able to feel elegant and beautiful on the most important day of my life. I cantthank them enough for their hard work and deluxe treatment. I walked in a as a stranger and walked out with friends and that does not happen this day in age.

I called to inquire about an alteration. The man who answered was very rude--well we are very busy I dont know when we could have it by and then the seamstress was put on the phone who also, was very rude-- when do you need it by...well you would have to try it on, i cant just guess at what needs to be done/where things need to go OK...of course I would try my dress on, why would I assume that you would just guess? I wish I could also express the tone of voice this was said to me in. I am sorry but if you are not going to be friendly even over the phone then why would I take my business here? Maybe they do provide good seamstress services but Id rather not go downtown Scranton to someone who is rude when I can go to a number of other *friendly* places. Thanks but no thanks.
