Great store, great selection!! The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because of the self checkout... SC is supposed to make life a little faster and easier, however every time we scanned an item, it did not recognize the product in the bagging area... it kept coming up with a not placed item In bagging area error. Every time this happened, we had to get the lady to reset machine... it took twice as long then it would have if we just went to a regularly staffed check out....

Great variety of cake .Many sizes, shapes, colors. Gotta love all the cake in the world .Giant gets 5 stars for the diversity and the display of all the cake.

Probably my favorite place to grocery shop. Good selection, never too busy. Only thing that can be improved on is their self checkout system! Its terrible in comparison to every where else.

The cashier was in absolutely no hurry whatsoever, and wasnt even making an attempt to hurry. Small talk with customers is very nice, but not when it impedes progress. Therefore, the wait in the line of 4 people took over 15 minutes. If I didnt have a cartful, I would have walked away.

Great deals great prices and excellent lunch meat. You can ask anybody in the store that works there were something is and they know exactly where to show you personally, even the managers will show you personally! Five star in my book!

Not too bad. Well I gave 2 stars because once at the deli this worker stood up and watched me for like 15mins. I had a number and after so long told me they were closing. I left and later observed someone else getting something from there. HMmm? Color? Funny I thought. I had better experiences there but that one time earned the two stars. Can be a bit pricey and sometimes crowded but prices r on the rise every where.

Dont like the new layout of the store. It seems as the heavy things in the store are at the higher number isles with you picking up your produce, beads chips in the beginning and your can goods and frozen foods at the end I think there layout could have been better thought out. I know they wanted to get the beer and wine in but could have come up with better placement

Giant is a nice store, friendly staff, quality items. However, they are mostly self checkout ( which I usually like) and while staff is helpful, the machine is undescribably horrible. I rarely shop there because of this impossible machine.

This was my first time going to Giant and so far i like the store. The only thing i didnt lioe too much was the check out area. Only one register was open and was full of people so i did the self check out area. I didnt like that you had to keep your bags in the bag area because if you took your bags off, the check out machine would tell you to put your bags back on or else you couldnt continue with scanning the rest of your items. So if you have alot of items, your best bet is to just wait on line at a register.

This is a big store, with fair prices. Its clean, and the staff is friendly. They provide masks, if necessary, as well. I bought the prepared chicken, but did not think it was very good. The Amish potato salad was great. Also got 18 aged sharp cheddar, which is not always easy to find, over 9 mos. Lots of parking, dollar store, liquor store, in the same location. Also has fuel pumps.

Ive been shopping at Giant for a long time, but now I use their curbside pickup. The website is pretty easy to use Ive always had exceptional service from their Associates both in gathering my order and then pleasant smiling masked faces when they bring it out. Always a pleasurable experience dealing with them! Their associates as do all our frontline workers deserve great thanks and 👏👏👏👏👏👏❣

Amazing Service with my recent visit!I was at this store early Yesterday and walked in without a mask. The Associate Matthew Was extremely nice and provided me with a mask. He helped me get a Scooter and just was super pleasant. Definitely will return!

Absolutely horrible. I’ve had to cancel the last two Instacart batches I’ve accepted at this store because more than half the items requested were out of stock. Maybe you don’t realize, but we lose money for every item we have to refund. This is the only store in this market that can’t keep items stocked appropriately for what’s offered to customers to purchase on the app. I will never accept another Instacart from here and if you want decent service as an Instacart customer, I’d highly recommend avoiding placing orders from this store.

Its a good store, lots a variety. Some items such as lettuce or spring mix arent as fresh and the store looks a bit dirty sometimes. Theyre open late which is a plus and the stuff is nice

This is a good Giant Supermarket. If the shelves are not packed out, it isnt because of employees who do not work, theres a shortage of stockers from 7am and through the graveyard shift. This causes emptiness on the shelves. People make purchases all day and night so staff must be scheduled to answer the sale of retail. Another contributor warned of checkout personnel defrauding patrons by double billing, over charging and ignoring sales prices and coupon prices. Theres no scourge of incompetence and errors by store employees. Check out people have zero interest in defrauding customers; Keeping money obtained via fraud or theft isnt even possible on any repeat basis. The workers are almost exclusively family men and women with responsibility to Giant but first and foremost their families. No one could survive at Giant for any time at all stealing from the owner or an old lady checking out.I see Giant replied and I need to be clear and concise. I do not believe cashiers have done anything to steal or defraud Giants patrons. I wanted to answer the allegation made by another reviewer that there is some monkey business. I believe the cashiers on a whole are honest, ethical and hard working.

They have a great deal on Shrimps until the 8th. 31-40 Jumbo Shrimps 2lbs for $10. You cant beat that. Thats $5 a pound.

We use Giant frequently for groceries. Its a good store overall with a decent selection of products and brands. I give it 3 stars because the fruit and deli items are sometimes lacking in freshness, so we make it a point to double check the produce here. On weeknights, it can also be slow to checkout with few registers open. However, there is a self checkout if you have less than 15 items. Ive also been here twice on days when they ran out of shopping carts on both sides of the store. One time it was busy due to the holidays. The second time there wasnt anything special going on, but they seem to be doing better in this area now. All this said, Giant is a clean store that offers some good deals, including discounts on food near the sell by date. If you forget your Giant card for specials, the cashiers have one they can use, so you still get the deals just not the points. In our years of going here, weve only ever had a few returns. Parking is decent, and most cashiers and staff are friendly, which is nice. While its not extraordinary, its a well kept place and one of the better grocery stores to go to in Scranton.

Great weekly deals, and you get points for $ off gas. Love the deals for example one week they had buy chicken breasts and you got broth, carrots, chopped celery and onions, and egg noodles for free. Staff is always pleasant and helpful.

I love it there, the sales are great, and there digital coupons are wonderful I save over 57 dollars on a 163.00 dollar order, and got 90 cents of a gallon for gas, it is so worth shopping here, and on my busy days I go online and order they shop for me, all I have to do is park outside and they bring the groceries to my car for me and pack everything so neatly in my car. Usually I have to go to 5 different grocery stores for everything I need not with giant they go above and beyond to make theyre customers happy and I am so grateful especially with my big family. Regular savings, store coupons, digital coupons, online shopping, and a great point system for gas different from any other store, I love it no company is perfect but they try to accommodate all there customers needs and I for one love saving money and they help with all of it not just one part.

The store is clean and bright. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The prices arent bad. I shopped at Giant for 24 years in VA. I was very happy when I found this store in Scranton. Thank you and keep up the great work you do for our community.

An employee was extremely rude while my brother and I accidentally entered the building through the wrong door. Mind you.. we were deep in conversation and in the masks which make it hard for me to see so great. I get that we did make a mistake and missed the signs. ...but the way this young man talked to my brother was way over the top which my bro responded by calmly apologizing. Then when I asked what had happened and what that was all about, and my brother tried to explain we had entered in the wrong door, the employee yelled across the store asking if there was a problem and if we needed to leave. 🤨 i only responded that he was merely telling me what had just happened because i had thought i missed something and didnt think this hostility could be over simply missing the sign and walking in the out door. Im not from the area anymore though. Maybe thats how things are in scrantons local giants, I know that is not the case in my area right outside Philadelphia. All the employees down here are amazing and very polite.

A decent grocery store. Their produce section could use a clean up but I visited at the end of the day on a Sunday. Great deli, bakery, and butcher. Their self checkouts are absolutely awful. The system is extremely sensitive and we needed multiple interventions from employees to help. They also didnt have enough bags for us to use. The employee working was EXTREMELY helpful and very polite/professional.I would shop here again but I would use the regular checkout lanes.
