*Cash Only and Mask-on* 10/5 stars. Charles is hands down the best in the business (70 years old in 2021). He would find the cheapest and most effective way for the customer to fix their bike prior to taking on the project. He did not allow me to step away while getting my deflated tire fix; now I know how to fix a flat. He allowed me to shadow him, the next client thought it was just a handle bar jam, but Charles thoroughly looked through the bike, fixed every possible issues and made it better. Glad, hell be around for another 5 years. If you take your bike seriously, you better go to Charles! He owns his bike shop since the early 80s, and hes here to stay!Side note, if you want him to retire early, buyout his building for $5mil in cash :)
Charles is the encyclopedia of everything Velocipede. With a tool collection worthy of a museum. And an eye for detail and craftsmanship - unmatched. Thanks to his patience in explaining away some of my ignorance - I now actually understand how bikes work. Sure you just want to drop off and be on your merry way - but whats the hurry, spend a few minutes and learn about your favorite toy The Bicycle. I do hope he will be able to teach classes again soon. And if you have a chance - do get your wheels built in his shop. The craftsmanship of wheel-building cannot be churned out in factories, and having them built locally is extremely affordable.
Charles is the best.Long ago I worked as a bike mechanic. Ordinarily I maintain my bikes myself. When I need something tricky I go to Wright Brothers.Charles is the bike doctor that other bike doctors go to. Hes earned a long roster of savvy, satisfied, repeat customers over many years. If you want swoosh and polish, go elsewhere, but if you care about your bike, and if you want to understand the nuances of how it works, take it to Wright Brothers and learn from a master.
You would think that in Seattle, where bikes are everywhere, it would be easy to find a bike shop that knows what theyre doing. Sadly, this is not the case. I recently painted my bike and took it somewhere to be reassembled. They did a garbage job of assembly and Ive had problem after problem with it since...And then I brought my bike to Wright Brothers. This is not a store that panders to hipsters and their adorable cruiser bikes. This guy knows what hes doing. And it shows because hes booked up for the foreseeable future. It mustve been my lucky day today because my shifter cable loose and I stopped by his store, and he was amazing. Had me riding in no time, and as it turns out there were a few more problems than just the shifter cable, which he fixed for an insanely reasonable price. So glad to have found this gem of a bike repair shop.
Charles once again saving the day. This is the SECOND time that I have needed something done with a bike trip right around the corner. Both times he was happy to figure something out to make sure I can get out the door and be confident in my bike for my approaching trip. The first time (last year) I needed a new set of wheels with not a whole lot of heads up. He was able to work with me to figure out what I needed and built me the sturdiest tires Ive ridden on. This year, he helped me after hours (!!) to get those same wheels tuned up, and a quick look at my bike before I head out on my next adventure. He knows his stuff and always offers great advice and great service. Thank you again!
One of the last local and true, high quality bike shops. I got in a bad accident in Fremont one evening and while all the other bike shops were closed, Wright Brothers fixed up my bike and the owner even cleaned my wounds and bandaged me up right on the sidewalk. One of those wonderful community moments that I’ll never forget. I’m forever a loyal customer here. Thank you!!
Best bike shop ever.
I popped by here a month or so ago with my bike. The pedal was having some issues and Charles was so kind and fixed it up for me right on the spot! Very generous and amazing service. Thank you so much.
Walked in, got my bike fixed in a day! The owner really gave a thorough looking over. I was really pleased! Over all great job!
My kind of bike shop! Seems about as local and on point as Ive been to here in Seattle. Immediately felt like my columbia bike was right where it needed to be as soon as I walked in!
Owner has always been helpful and willing to give advice on repairs. Get your bike fixed here.
I cannot say enough about how great the people are at this shop and how well they know their stuff. I went in for a flat and came out with so many things fixed (and learned) with my bike for just the charge of the flat. They have definitely earned a loyal customer.
This business is the standard for excellent customer service. At most bike shops, I cant shake the feeling that Im being ripped off. However, this owner is so dedicated towards helping you solve your bike problems that you will gladly give as much money as you can to support this business. Their tool co-op is great.
Awesome place. The owner knows his stuff! Great selection of bikes, quality parts, and even bike repair workshops! Definitely a great place to get work done at a fair price!
I stopped by to see if they could do some repair for me, as a friend highly recommended them. They were super nice and upfront with me, gave me a quote much cheaper than what Performance Bicycle had quoted. Very helpful and personable. I will definitely go back with any bicycle needs!
This place deserves more than 5 stars. I showed up looking for a headset that no other shop could identify for me, as it is an old and funky bike. The gentleman assisting me was so committed to finding what I needed, even though he knew they wouldnt carry itHe found what I needed and even gave me the business card of a competitor that he knew would have this headset.Super cool... Thankfully I needed to buy a few other things they had, but I just thought that was rad you dont see that type of attitude these days. Thanks guys!
Great gang of guys and they know what theyre doing. Now that I have moved far away, Im really missing this shop. Nothing in my area even comes close.
Charles (the owner) is very friendly and helpful! I highly recommend going to this shop!
Knowledgeable, affordable local bike shop that is a Seattle original. For decades theyve been a positive resource in keeping me cycling. Building wheels, buying bits is what Ive used them for but their classes sound spot on. Take One! RAD SHOP priced well good part selection
Very helpful and knowledgeable.
Excellent shop - So many tools, expert advice and friendly service
In 2017, I needed a bike. Id been cheap before and rode used stuff and dealt with the issues that come along with that. I had just moved to Seattle and walked into the Wright Bros Cycle Works. I was pleasantly greeted and given the best bike advice (freely) as to what I should invest in. I followed the advice, bought a fixed gear Kilo TT, and had it assembled by the Bros. This was no ordinary assembly though. EVERYTHING - the hubs, crankset, brakes, wheel tension, headset, was built with unparalled craftsmanship. I didnt service the bike, my fault, for 2 years and it is STILL SMOOTH. I have been biking for 10 years competitively and NEVER had such amazing service from ANYONE else. Now, Im in the middle of caring for my beloved bike, and dont trust anyone else to give me as good advice as these guys. I live in Montreal now, for Petes sake, and want these guys to help me out. Pay up. Listen up. You will be satisfied. Best bike shop I know.
Took the bicycle repair series. Was very helpful to understand how my bike works. I will be able to do it on my own for sure here on.
Charles helped me true my wheels and has got the whip running smoothly! I Recommend this shop x10
Charles is very knowledgable, decades of experience. A must visit shop for anyone who is interested in bikes! Highly recommended
Had an issue with my front shock (looked like it was falling apart) and the owner was able to fix me up in 5 minutes for a super fair price. Definitely will be my first stop for any bike related needs in the future.
Cool bike shop awesome stuff. The main old dude Charles is pretty helpful. A lot of old men, its like the golden girls but guys.
A staunch true bike shop. You will be well taken care of there!
I think its awesome I even read the book about them how Orville was the first man to fly how they called there first glider the Kitty Hawk its an amazing story!
Excellent craftsmanship! They took my battered and beleaguered bike and got running smooth and silent.
Old school shop where any bike can be fixed and restored.
Awesome little store, with a backyard-workshop vibe. They have all the parts you might want, and theyre able to provide great advice.
Great for repairs and maintenance classes, cash only. Very knowledgable employees.
Frankly there are only a handful of Campy friendly bike shops in Seattle and with Il Vecchio and Elliot Bay folded in the past few years, Charles and his shop (and perhaps Branford too) has become the only place for real Campy fans.Excrllent shop for your retro minded timeless Italian steed!
Charles is the man. He knows what hes talking about.DONT expect Wal-Mart cheap. If you want cheap, go to Wal-Mart.DO pay w/cash or check only.DONT be an ass. Ask questions. Its ok not to know all about bikes.DO think Fremont
Owner Charles is the guy I go to for any and all questions vintage bike-related. He is what I would refer to as Seattles vintage-bike Guru.
Good guys
Charlie can fix everything!
