Always love Glassy Baby! This was my first time in the Madrona shop though. Loved it! Cant wait to go back!
I wanted to order something extra special for a good friend and knew that a custom Glassybaby would be the perfect gift. After much deliberation online, I ended up placing a custom order with Jennifer over the phone and just had to write a review about how helpful she was during the process. As someone who cant make a decision to save their life, Jennifer was patient, helped me go through all the different options by walking me through their site together, and ultimately helped me make a decision that I feel confident about. Im incredibly impressed with the great customer experience Jennifer created and Im so excited to give my friend such a special gift!
Small shop. Very cute. Great helpers too.
Such wonderful glasswork!
Worst customer experience Ive ever had. Ever.I received a gift from this place, a blue glassybaby called Peace for Christmas. It has brought me nothing but anxiety.Ive wanted a glassybaby because the company donates to cancer non-profits, and I was diagnosed with cancer when I was 18. When I lit the candle in this thing for the first time, I removed a gummy sticker on the bottom and put it in my discard X-mas wrapping paper pile because I figured it would get hot and I didnt want the sticker to make a mess.I decided the blue color made me feel blue, so I put the whole thing in the original packaging, and went back to exchange it. No big deal, I figured, because they charge a hefty price for these things and I assumed the customer service would reflect the price tag.Nope. They explained that because I had removed the gummy sticker from the bottom, I was SOL and they couldnt tell which glassybaby it was from their line. It was Peace, I explained, and showed it to the staff right next to mine on the shelf, in identical colors. But were not sure its the same blue, they said. Um, literally its the only shade of that blue that was there...its not not aquamarine, not sky blue, not Cookie Monster blue. Anyway, see for yourself in the attached photo. My only recourse was to call some number and deal with another customer service arm of the company (I guess thats not what the people at the store do??). I dont have time for this, so I just left the whole darn thing there on the counter, all $60 of it. I dont want it in my house because it brings up bad feelings instead of the positive ones theyve cleverly marketed.Dont waste your money--if you want to support cancer treatment, there are worthy charities like American Cancer Society, Fred Hutch, and Seattle Childrens that deserve our money so much more. Or support another local business that knows how to treat customers.
Staff was super kind and helpful. Great safety procedures during COVID and beautiful hand blown glass!
Very interesting watching the crafts people blowing the glass
A great gift idea with a beautiful selection of glass in all colors! I really loved the open view into the glass blowing area - amazing to watch how these candle holders are made!
Awesome friendly service with a smile. They answered every question we had and pointed us in the right direction to help tailor our gifts and experience to us. One of a kind people for a one of a kind store! Will definitely be changing out my glassware with all of their products!
Great view of the glass studio. Social distancing right now but always fun to see the variety of colors across the shelves
Cozy shop has a window in the back that shows the glass blowing area. Cozy and open at the same time. The salesperson was knowledgeable and knew exactly what to recommend when I asked for other votive options which showed a red flame.
What a delightful gem in the middle of a wonderful neighborhood! We were invited to come and stay awhile being able to watch the glassblowers in process. I love their products and the community benefit behind the concept.
We booked a private glass blowing party at this location. The glass blowing experience was fun. When you do the glass blowing and purchase a glassy baby in the shop, you get a discount. The shop rung me up incorrectly and overcharged me $70. I caught their mistake, but was told they were unable to refund my money at that time and Id have to wait until their bookkeeper came in on Monday (we were there Saturday). Ok, no problem.....until a week later and nobody from the company had contacted me. I left a message at the shop and when I had no response, I called customer service and was told they had not heard of this issue yet and they would take care of it right away and call the manager of the shop. 5 days later, still no communication and no refund. Called again to speak with customer service and still, nobody knew what was going on. I have been a customer of glassy baby for years and am surprised at their lack of communication and willingness to help and follow thru. It amazes me that when someone is overcharged in the store and it is realized, they dont have the ability to refund the transaction and start over with ringing up the order. There were two people in the shop and neither knew or were able to do this. Poor customer service.
This place is awesome for what they do, but not my cup of tea. Its great that the charity side is so transparent, and they seem to treat the glass blowers extremely well. My candle can sit in any random votive and doesnt need an artisan touch; but theyre beautiful!
I had no idea this place was even here! It was so cool to watch them blow the glass and hand make each glassybaby.
Great customer service, thanks!
What an amazing experience. The people working to make these incredible glassybabys are so fun to watch. 💜
Very cool place. You can even watch as they make the glass
Went with my mom and made cute pumpkins, so fun! Great staff, great experience...
Beautiful hand blown glass votive holders in a wide variety of colors and patterns. Artisans are visible creating these little treasures from the retail space.
Need to get a yuppi a gift and dont want to think too hard? Go to glassy baby, drop $50, do some good because some of their profit goes to charity, and know that your gift will be very well received. If the color isnt their favorite, they can go swap it themselves.
Really beautiful pieces but VERY expensive. Would have loved to purchase but 75$ for a single votive is a bit much! (Even though handmade)
Awesome shop for glass wares and very unique gifts. Very cool to see the products being worked in in the back. Makes a great gift that is very unique for hard to shop for people.
Loved being able to watch the glassy babies being made. Could watch for hours. Wish there was a better viewing area to watch though
So fun to see the glass babies being made!
Our favorite tourist stop these days with out of towners is this shop in the lovely Madrona neighborhood of Seattle. The hot shop is viewable through the windows at the rear of the retail shop. Everyone you take there will be thrilled to have seen it and usually buy one or more of the lovely votive holders that the firm is renowned for. Trust me; this is a stop that youll want to do more than once. The units are the perfect gift for more occasions than I can possibly think of!Several decent restaurants are nearby and the parking is free.
Beautiful store and really great actually getting to watch them make the votives. Fun to see lots of choices. If you are already a fan of Glassybaby, then this store is a must see to watch them make the glass. If you dont know about Glassybaby and ever need a unique gift then this is the company to check out.
You can watch them being made while shopping, very cool!
Very interesting watching the artists create their art. I could have watched all day
Beautiful store with glass blowing studio in a beautiful neighborhood setting.
Saleswoman seemed more focused on customer who was buying several glassybaby votives and practically ignored me since I was dressed very casually. Reminded me of scene from Pretty Woman where Julia Roberts told saleswoman Big mistake - huge. Needless to say, I left without buying anything. Was disappointed in the new Hawks Nest glassybabies that were on display since photo on Facebook and website looked better.
The glassybabies are beautiful and its cool you can see them making them
Fun to watch the crafting process!
Wonderful fun-filled experience for my company Holiday party!
Kewl place. CleAnd their kitchen today lol
Delightful hand made glassware. Every one is unique!
Beautiful tea light holders, must be seen in person to fully appreciate!
These make beautiful one of a kind gifts
The GlassyBaby is so very cool. Great gift idea. Fun to watch the folks making them right there in Madrona.
I am a glass blower its a hot shop for blowing glass candle holders
Pricy but classic glass votives. The view of the glass foundry makes this a nice destination for out of town visitors.
Always a win. Who doesnt like Glassybaby and now that Ive tried the make your own, Im hooked on that too!
Very friendly and helpful!
What a wonderful staff!!
Live glassblowing!!! You should probably approach the glassblowers and ask about the process.
I love everything about glassybaby!
