The prices are actually pretty okay for downtown Seattle. I got some toggle anchors for mounting peg boards in my condo, and the guy who helped me was super friendly and knew exactly the right supplies for the job. I took the time to measure the thickness of my drywall and the project turned out great.
Thank you, Curtis, at Hero Ace Hardware Downtown for your expert help. I appreciated your professional tips on the best tool to use for removing old bathtub caulking and which products to buy for the job. You saved me time and $$. Also, your advice for restoring wood on an outdoor deck was spot-on. Thank you for your guidance.
The folks who work here on the weekends are excellent. They’re helpful and friendly; someone always asks me if I need help as soon as I walk in the door. As someone who is not handy, I appreciate their willingness to answer all my newbie questions, and do so in a manner that is not condescending. Happy this store and staff are here in the city.
To the franchise owner -- the best way to stop retail theft is to have employees consistently engaging customers, not to demand every customer surrender their bags at the front desk -- youre losing more business than youre saving in shrink. Your employees are lazy and clearly dont care, and their attitudes make it a lot easier to just order everything from Amazon.
It had what I wanted. It had many options of what I wanted. A few times it was out of stock for what I needed. Friendly greeting from store clerk, upon entering.
Its in the middle of the city therefore has quick essentials; from paint to small garden/Home essentials. I got there 3 partial screens for my window a humming bird feeder. Not bad for a city hardware store. Parking is unknown to me as I dont have a car. Prices are ok. Free would be better lol
I forgot how much great stuff they have at the hardware store. Sales people really nice and helpful.
Who cannot like a nice hardware shop with very helpful people to ask for anything that is needed. They also have this scrap section that contains left rover material which you can use for DIYs. They also cut machine cut wooden boards for a small amount which is helpful!
Theft rate must be high at this store because they treat paying customers like a thief. When I go in there is one person up front. By the time I left a few minutes later with my purchase 4 workers were up front and one positioned by the exit even after I paid. The worker who unlocked the power tool didn’t even trust me enough to set it down on the ground long enough to lock the other tools back up in fear that I might steal it. He called over another coworker over to hold it while he locked up the other tools. He didn’t even say thank you after I paid. I was dressed in casual clean clothing. This tool was only in stock here so that’s why I came. Had it been at my local store I would have bought it there. Be cautious of theft but don’t make it so obvious. Shameful.
These guys are so nice. They’ve given me advice and helped me (beginning DIYer) plumb my vanities/toilets/sinks, cut through all kinds of challenging objects, set up my appliances, mount tons of heavy stuff, taught me about tools, found the most specific tiny screws/washers/nuts/anchors, troubleshoot electrical problems, and always with a smile. Special thanks to Michael and Markus. Wish the return policy was more than 30 days. That’s the only downside.
This places people are willing and able and kindly guide all who enter...Everyone is someone, all the time. You can look around the store and ask anyone questions and get a Truthful reply...I admire these people for being honestly steadfast...
Came here to buy a snake to clear up my drain. Looked around and had to ask for help from the cashier, who was very friendly and helpful.
So friendly and found perfect dollhouse color
Wonderful selection in the heart of downtown and excellent expertise from Eriksen and Markus as we as the rest of the team.Thank you very much for the many trips and kind assistance.
A much appreciated alternative to Amazon for same day pickup for online orders. I needed a hex wrench for a part on my bike. So I placed my order and picked it up on my lunch break. Then figured out it may not work.So an associate helped me find the item I needed at a lower price and same-day. I’m glad that this business is here and I hope it remains here for years to come.
I love this downtown hardware store. Whenever I have anything sort of Hardware related that I think Im going to look on Amazon to try and find I always first check here because they more often than not have exactly what Im looking for I can go and pick it up myself and its more often than not less expensive than Amazon! Thats in addition to the bonuses of actually dealing with real human beings, face to face, people who care, who work in a small business, each is locally owned, as opposed to the megalomaniacal owned and operated Amazon.com.
Wen Busy I got top Notch service
Im surprised but the ezmoves furniture moving system I just picked up actually worked and didnt break! The lifter is made of metal and surprisingly strong. Thy were very helpful picking it out as well.
Well run hardware store. Got me out the door fast.
Always helpful! Great staff and variety of products. Whats not to love?!
Really convenient parking, everything that a country hardware store and really knowledgeable employees.
Very polite and helpful employees!
Customer service from some of staff, treated just rude my manager, young guy
Employees are Very helpful
I WAS a loyal customer to this location visiting nearly once a week. I came in for a routine purchase. I had just finished a long bike ride was tired and looked a bit of a mess. Stopped me at the door, looked me up and down and told me to leave my bag that is worth more than his job at the counter. This has been a first if four years. When he failed to prove he could guarantee the security of my belongings he rudely gave me an ultimatum to abandon my bag to a stranger or leave. It was also a first to see this guy working here. Dyed neon blue hair Asian male.
This store is openly violating your civil liberties. Boycott.
Solid little hardware store. They have pretty much everything you would need from basics to very specific parts.
Very hard place to find downtown but thats my thing I hate going downtown
Great selection for a smallish store and super helpful staff.
I have been shopping on and off here for years, and every time the customer service is phenomenal. Each staff member shows genuine interest in helping me find what I need, and I can always count on the friendly lady at the checkout to make me smile.5/5
Able to find what I need quickly and staff was super friendly without being obnoxiously helpful.
Amazing store with amazing staff. I am a kid in a candy shop everytime I go there!
Sarah was so helpful and sweet . My new paint will look great thanks to her color match
They always had whatever I needed right in the middle of downtown at an acceptable price. But the best part is store is its skilled and friendly staff. Thanks a lot guys.
Great store, hardware store, perfer to go there than the larger stores. Staff thats the time to help you, find what you need & how to use it if needed. Have some things that are neefed for repair in older buildings. Highly recommend them.
I shopped there one time and I was hooked. Avast selection at a small store downtown with a very knowledgeable staff that is more than willing to go out of the way to help you with what youre trying to accomplish. Never expected this from a little hardware store downtown.
The staff is very friendly and helpful
Great selection and friendly staff.
Good hardware store in downtown Seattle, very good service.
Great help, always a one stop solution
Very helpful and friendly employees working at the store.
There is always something special about an Ace hardware in town centers. This one takes it to another level. They have a great supply of equipment and had everything I needed for installing screens in apartment windows not designed for screens. They helped out by pointing out another solution that was much easier than the path I was going down. It was a far less expensive solution too. Not only did they help, they offered to help out with a window solution for a window exhaust for the summer months. AC units are not a common site in Seattle, but sometimes they are desired. They offered up some tools I could even borrow if I needed. They understood that I was visiting and traveling without tools. I also enjoyed the all-inclusive vibe they give out. Not like some of the other ones I have visited in small-town USA. Bottom line, there is only one hardware store in downtown Seattle. I am glad it is this one with the helpful staff they have. The only negative; they are missing the popcorn machine. I suppose it may be due to all of the homeless folks that might try to steal it.
Gonna force u to buy a mask if you forgot one smh
Best hardware store in downtown Seattle - good selection, & great service.
Not bad for a little downtown spot. People are nice and helpful.
Really nice to have a hardwear store downtown. Especially nice to find sales associates who know what they are talking about. Highly recommended.
Easy to navigate. Friendly helpful staff.
Always very helpful and knowledgeable I go here for everything!
The bat soup was a bit different here
Very helpful, I was unsure of what bolts I needed and they helped me out with that along with other questions I had.
Like a modern old fashioned hardware store with helpful employees
All the employees are super friendly and they have everything you need here
They are very helpful to find what you need.
This backpack policy (e.g. my purse) is absurd. I’m not going to depart with my personal belongings to shop here. Figure out another way to prevent theft. People downtown carry backpacks!
Always helpful and clean. Well stocked and easy to find what you need. Staff practice great social distancing and have made great efforts to keep customers safe. The only place in the city I would trust for home repair needs.
I thoroughly enjoyed this unexpected adventure into this bright, clean and welcoming hardware store. It just so happened I was in need for a random tool that was needed to finish one of my many DIY projects I have started since beginning of co-vid. I was down on 3rd ave for an appointment and saw the familiar ACE logo and a nice lit sign that said OPEN . I ventured in and I was immediately welcomed by the warmth the absolute BRIGHTNESS, CLEANLINESS, and mostly the FRIENDLINESS the store offered. Especially in these times it felt like a fresh breath of humanity still exists in the darkest places if you look at it right. I am thrilled to have stumbled upon this gem amongst boarded up buildings and businesses. I plan to be a returning loyal customer.
I like the kindness of the employees who work here, and I like the size of the home depot as a compact, well-organized product display, and a wide variety of items.
A good store and you cannot enter with your bag. This creates an overt atmosphere of distrust and true inconvenience. It is assumed, you trust them.
I always receive excellent customer service here, but a friend of mine went the other day & the guy who helped her was next level! After finishing my browsing, he saw me looking for her and asked if I needed help finding anything. I replied, A sassy Asian girl? without missing a beat he tells me to follow him, takes me right to her, and asks, is this the one youre looking for? I nearly died laughing. He had been and continued to help her (and several other customers)find EXACTLY what she needed, on the first try for everything. If give them 5 starts, but they are a smaller store and the selection can be limited.
I really like Ace Hardware. Ive shopped the business most of my life. I just hope they improve their customer service. Why? I have been feeling a lot of discrimination from sales associates who make me feel as if Im in there to rip them off. Ace dont stereotype and use stigma when customers enter your store. That is discrimination and extremely unprofessional.
Helpfull staff easy checkout
We are so lucky to have this hardware shop downtown. It may be small, for a hardware shop, but they will order you anything you may need. The staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable and they almost don’t treat you like a shoplifting criminal.
Always a great spot for information and an absolutely great crew. Keep it up!
Alot of selection, not just in household hardwares and paint, but sporting goods and a grocer and deli departments as well.
This is like Ye Olde neighborhood hardware store! These people take their time and help you, both in person and on the phone! Outstanding Customer Service!!
Very polite and helpful staff. Need to be conscious of clearance or sale prices / items.
Convenient location and helpful staff have made it the only hardware store i go to
Been shopping here since they opened and all in all, its been great for everything I have needed. Just dont go when the property manager is on site. That guy was verbally abusive with plenty of expletives peppered in there. Good luck reaching a manager about such matters. Theyd do well not to renew the lease of that kind of abuse is tolerable. If like to know why the store manager is unable to address this kind of conflict as well. No matter. I will forsake convenience and a longtime patronage to plan ahead to go to Hardwicks instead. You really should have taken my phonecalls.
Friendly and helpful staff
They selectively enforce the no backpacks rule based on physical appearance. Only store in the area that even has such a rule. Will not be shopping here again.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Reasonable pricing. This store is a little neighborhood gem!
Helpful friendly staff
Theyve had everything I needed (oven light, fasteners, wall hole patching, etc. Staff is super knowledgable and helpful. Sometimes the checkout can be slow, but overall this place is great.
Its a good hardware store & they have helpful staff. I always find just what I need. I recommend Hero Ace Hardware. 👍
Helpful staff
Plenty of helpful staff, good selection what the neighborhood needs.
This place is absolutely amazing I love everyone who works there they are always giving my doggie some treats when we come in they love our dogs and know them by name everytime we come in I most certainly will be back again they are the absolute best
Knowledgeable and very helpful employees
The staff are super helpful! Great prices and selection! Lots of great items, especially for those who live downtown (this is the place to get certain replacement bulbs if youre in the Escala, for example). Small town feel in downtown! ❤
I have started going here to pick up things for work, and this morning I went in to get a replacement transponder key made for my work truck. Geoff was awesome to work with - he got my replacement key cut and programmed right there, and for a fraction of what the dealer charges. The level of customer service at this location far exceeds what Ive come to expect from big box stores.
They have a surprising amount of items for such a small shop. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Im really grateful I have such a well stocked store right in the heart of downtown.
This hardware store has everything you need and more. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. They also welcome your pooch with treats!
Great staff. Very friendly and helpful
Always a super helpful staff. If they dont have what you need theyll usually help you find an alternative.
Amazing staff! Helped me figure out which hardware I needed without breaking a sweat. They even stock plenty of electronics! Always leave here happy.
Good customer service
Lots of items to offer in the store. The staff is always super helpful. They have a great supply of loose screws, nails, nuts etc. There is a paint section, garden, HVAC, tools. The parking lot is small, but parking has never been a problem thus far. For a small store the place is packed with merchandise. They keep store stocked and clean.
The staff was friendly and helpful, no complaints there. The only problem is, they open at 8am. This location is key for all of the professional construction trades working downtown, but we typically start at 6am or earlier. It would be nice if Ace hardware could open earlier, even 7am would be awesome.
Got keys made and everyone was very helpful.
This hardware store near the middle of downtown Seattle is amazing! The staff was friendly and helpful but you didnt feel sharked. Theyve packed a lot of merchandise inside and is displayed well. Being a contractor, having hardware supplies available downtown is a godsend.
Love having the option to visit Ace when Im downtown. Helpful, good customer service, decent prices, and conveniently located.
Greeted as soon as I walked in. You do have to check your bags and it seemed a lot of things were locked behind glass. Due to this theres a lot of personal service from staff +/-
This place truly is a neighborhood store. Great service, fast, and friendly. They helped me greatly by replacing a broken trolley cart. So glad I signed up for Ace Rewards!
They right around corner from me but most times dont have what im needing they need to get with the times.
This place is great! We walked in looking to get a M4 tap and they were all out. We had walked about a mile cuz were here for work so imagine the horror when every tap size is there EXCEPT for the one we need.WELL, the gentleman (I kick myself for not getting his name) a black man with semi curly hair who was helping us, walked to the back and came back with an M4 tap from his own tools. The generosity he showed, the horror we felt gone, really makes me appreciate the magnitude of his giving. This Ace Hardware store has a gem of an employee who truly looks after his customer.Thank you sir for making our day.
Very friendly staff and helpful too. The prices and selection are not desirable.
