Fantastic location near the Smokies. The young gentleman knew his local fishing and was pleasant to speak with. Great source of information
What a nice store. Well organized, awesome inventory and great staff!
Great store. Lots of very neat clothing. Got a really great deal on a zip up winter jacket. Only disappointment was they dont carry shoes.
This was my second stop, about a year apart. The store is well stocked. Staff is friendly.
Best clothing store. This location has a lot of sale items.
All of the associates were friendly and very knowledgeable. All my questions were answered and suggestions made to help me in my selections.
Wonderful selection of quality clothing; stylish, durable,. Love their sale values.
Great experience. Service was top notch. Little pricey as to be expected with Orvis. The price is worth the quality of their products.
Such a disappointing experience. Only customer in store. I told the clerk I was looking for something warm and she showed me spring clothes. She then asked me delineate warm clothes.
Great staff, great service, great products! They are there to help, educate, and fix whatever you have with fly fishing, fly tying, pets, or find local fishing hot spots!
Awesome staff with great knowledge if youre not from the area. I showed up, got some flys per recommendation, picked up a leader or two, and left with a map with three great places that caught fish! Awesome job behind the fly counter, true pros!! Its a bit pricey for everything but the flys, but with everything else combined, totally worth it!! Highly recommend you stop in before hitting the streams, five stars!!
Masks are mandatory, but theyll give you a complimentary one if you need it. Prices are high for their products but they really really last and have a great warranty. They sell fly fishing rods, fly tying equipment, clothes for the family and other assorted items. We got there with 20 minutes before closing and they were helpful and very willing to help us in whatever we needed. They never rushed us. The store is well worth a visit.
Stopped in store today, picked up what I need to fly fish in the mountains, store was well stocked, best part was the people everybody was friendly, men in fly fishing department was knowledgeable and fun to talk to about fly fishing
I do not give 5 star unless it is exceptional. This is. Got my 1st fly fishing rig here. They spent a lot of time with me teaching technique and outfitting with the minimal needed to get me started.
Jake at Orvis in Sevierville TN is AWESOME! Very helpful in directing is to the best fly fishing spots in the area. Highly recommend visiting this location and speaking with him.
This is a nice place with plenty of apparel. I briefly had a helpful associate but thats where the feel good part of my visit ended. With apparel in hand I was ignored in line and then when I forced an associate to complete my sale she had no greeting for me. I wont be going back.
It was an Hour drive to the Orvis store. I needed to make an online catalog return and I was interested in checking out the Women’s clothing. However, first I needed to visit their restroom. I was immediately told the bathrooms were closed and I needed to visit the adjacent restaurant, it was pouring rain outside. After wading thru all the people at the restaurant and locating the restroom, I returned to the Orvis store to complete my return transaction. I felt this was very poor customer service of Orvis. Their dressing rooms were open. Other restaurants and stores were taking the measures to accommodate customers, why can’t they? I quickly decided, I was no longer interested in spending money at a store that can’t measure up to the customer service, I would expect to be a no brainer. Total disappointment.
Love Orvis!! A little pricey but you should know that going in. Very nice people, most are knowledgeable.
Definitely lives up to its name of being an outdoor clothier. They have a unique style. More of a high end upscale store. Staff is very friendly and helpful if needed. A bonus to this store is the ample outside area in front of the store where you can kick your heels back and take a break in the shade.
Just left the store and Bobby helped us out. I can’t begin to tell u how nice and genuine he was. He gave us great places to eat, awesome spots for fishing and hiking. He was so informative! Thanks for the kind words and Helpful information... he gave us enough information for a week for sure!
FANTASTIC experience. I had changed three sizes smaller over this past summer. Ive always liked Orvis clothes, and didnt want to order online because I just wasnt sure of the right fit for my thinner self. So, i drove 150 miles round-trip to the Sevierville store, and was promptly greeted and doted upon by three terrific employees. One of them even went spelunking in the storage room for me when I found a particular shirt I liked but wanted to try another size. The two wonderful women sales staff were so helpful recommending which size looked right for me. I cannot say enough good things about how cheerful, helpful and nice the staff of this store was to me yesterday. I spent more than I anticipated spending, but I know that Orvis clothes will last and last. I will be back. No question about it.
Great store and very friendly staff also one of the largest Orvis store I personally have ever been too. They have a big selection of clothes and fishing gear.
Absolutely amazing store with even better customer service. Jake, the store manager, is truly wonderful and goes above and beyond for customers. His classes and his demeanor are simply outstanding. We drive nearly an hour and a half just to go to this Orvis store when other fly specialty stores are closer to us. We would rather go to Orvis Sevierville for the customer service, selection, and experience! Top notch place.
Great experience with a helpful and friendly staff! If you want high quality gear and want to feel like your shopping in your vintage hometown outfitter, this is the place to go!
Alright store. Higher priced clothing, with only a few items being made in USA. Odd that they claim tradition.
LOVE Orvis womens clothes!! Good quality, classic clothing that never goes out of style. And I especially love the Pigeon Forge (TN) store and its helpful, friendly associates.
Very friendly and staff. Steve was very helpful in telling us some spots to try for trout. Would definitely shop here again.
Orvvis is a great store with great merchandise. It takes a while to get over sticker shock, but the quality is exceptional.
Great people and my very favorite products. The location is well worth the stop
My wife and I visited this store on 3/20/19.As a seasoned bass angler I am new to fly fishing. The guy working at the desk near the flies was very helpful, I later found out that my wife had told him I needed all the help I could get. He took the time to show me his favorite starter book. The Orvis guide to Beginning Fly Fishing.I thought it was very considerate of the salesman to suggest this. Instead of trying to push items on me that I did not need at this time.
Awesome store with very friendly staff. They can help you find a place to fish while outfitting you with all the stuff you need. Would recommend this store to everyone.
Great customer service. I stopped by to browse and ended up talking to one of the employees for a bit. I mentioned how I picked up a used guide bag but it was missing the cross strap. He GAVE me one for free! Gave me a lot of good advice for fishing in my area too. I will definitely recommend this store to others.
What a great place and staff my 9yo son wants to get into fly fishing and Jake was a great help he even showed him how to use his fly rod
Amazing service. Very friendly workers and a nice relaxed place to shop. Pricey, but quality stuff.
Good as always, find excellent quality clothes, especially mens pullover.
Excellent customer service and products. Shipping routes via FedEx from Orvis in Virginia to my address involve to many unnecessary legs of travel including a final handoff to the USPS, which results in a one day minimum delay.
A lot of nice apparel for the ladies to browse in while the men are shopping for fly fishing needs, not to mention they give a free fly fishing 101 class.. Very nice and clean. The sales associates are very friendly and helpful.
Very polite and knowledgable staff. A must stop for anybody looking to fly fish in the smokies.
Jake is a very informative and helpful salesman. Will return to this store again. Thanks!
The store is large with a big selection of clothes (both mens and womens), dog supplies ...and, of course fly fishing tackle. The guys were extremely helpful ...and patient. They spent s lot of time taking with me and helping me find some good fishing spots. They made good recommendations on chores to use and made sure I had everything I need to have a productive day on the water. I really appreciate their help and the extra time they spent with me.... highly recommend!
Ok if you like to fly fish.
Found what I wanted and met a great gentleman working there!
Customer service was great and a very knowledgeable staff.
Great store. very knowledgeable and friendly staff always willing to help and answer any questions.Be sure to sign up for ff101 and 201 which both are completely free.
Very expensive. We went here looking for fishing lures, and they only have fly fishing gear. Their clothes are nice, but expensive.
Codi and Jake very knowledgeable and helpful. Great selection.
Great shop great staff. Highly recommend for fishermen & nonfisher alike. Great varieties of men & women clothing. Plenty of parking convenient to Gatlinburg Piegon Forge & Sevierville.
Great store and staff, the fly fishing 101 class was very informative and the guys made it fun with jokes and pranks used in the teaching process. Will pay more visits when in the area
The store is full of Orvis gear, all high quality, kind of expensive stuff. If youre into fly-fishing, a lot of this stuff can only be bought here. There is a great selection of carp flies, as well as a million other flies. If you fly fish, and you want something related to fly fishing, they have it at this store.
Very nice store. Has clothing and fishing gear. Sales associate was knowledgeable and helpful. They also offer fly fishing classes.
Great place with great products. They welcome dogs.
Staff is super friendly ...and helpful ....prices are pretty high tho ...but thats orvis ...and the sport i suppose
Let me start by saying Im a huge Orvis fan. I make a point to seek them out when travelling because they have quality equipment and usually good service and advice for the local waters I plan to fish. I shop often at my local store, Ive booked Orvis endorsed trips and guides several times in the past years, and I have more Orvis branded equipment and clothing than anyone else I know. Today when I rolled into this location I had 2 Orvis rods, 2 Orvis reels, Orvis slingpack, Orvis waders, Orvis wading boots, Orvis fly tying kit/tools, etc, etc in my trunk. No kidding, numerous other Orvis branded items in my car that I wont continue to list as I think Ive made my point that Im a loyal customer, and Im just listing what was in my car today, we wont talk about whats at home that didnt make the trip. Anyway, today I was pretty excited to visit the Gatlinburg location as its the largest Orvis store Ive ever been in. I walked in today (in my Orvis Trout Bum pullover) looking to spend some money and hoping to get some guidance for fly selection for the current conditions in the area. Walked past one employee when I walked through the door, and then 3-4 others were just hanging out at the front desk, no one said a word. I stopped and browsed through a lot of the clothing items as I casually made my way back to the fly fishing area, still not a word or acknowledgement from anyone. There was one older guy behind the desk in the fly fishing area as I entered and started perusing the fly case and gear. After a little bit I looked over at the desk hoping to catch a glance from the employee to let him know I could use some assistance, but he appeared to be much more interested in the paperwork in his hands. By this point I was getting a little frustrated by the lack of assistance and considered just leaving, but my wife and daughter who had been sitting in the car came in and started looking around. They made their way through the clothing, dog items, etc and made their way back to the fly gear where I was, and just like me not a soul greeted them or asked if they could help them with anything. We spent awhile walking around together, me pointing out and picking up items I was interested in, etc. The guy behind the counter finally came out, but rather than come over and offer us assistance he completely left the fly fishing area with his paperwork in hand. All in all I spent about 25 minutes walking around the store and never once did anyone greet me or my family or offer to help. This was a Thursday around lunchtime in January, so not a peak busy time. As a matter of fact, we appeared to be the only customers in the store most of the time we were there, so really no excuse. Needless to say, I was very disappointed in my experience. Although Ill continue to purchase Orvis products, Ill never step foot in this location again. Had it just been one employee that failed to offer assistance I would have probably just blamed the individual, but with as many employees that we walked by with none offering assistance it was clear that this store has a deeper culture problem that goes well beyond a single employee. When I got back in the car I did a quick internet search for other fly shops in the area. Drove a little out of the way from where I planned to be, but was pleased to find a local shop that was very happy to have my business today and willingly offered the advice and guidance I was looking for. I rewarded them by spending over $400 on some new boots, flies, net, etc. In summary, Id highly recommend skipping this Orvis store and seeking out another local fly shop to spend your money in as I ended up doing.
Most unfriendly people Ive meet in a fly shop. And the under stocked shop around and over priced.
As I am new to fly fishing and spent my day with my friend fishing locally, I wanted to stop by bc I am starting from scratch. Looking for guidence and help I stopped here. huge mistake, one guy asked if I needed help, I said yes I am new and trying to figure out what to BUY His response, one of everything and walked away to quickly to spend the next 20 mins talking to some buddy about a rod that he wasnt even buying that day. As an East Tennessee native and local to the Great Smoky Mountains, this store should be better and the staff should want to work, and help people. With 3 customers in the store you should be from behind your counter and associateing with your customers.
Excellent place for fly fishing and super helpful staff
Good selection of quality fly rods
Jake and Steve were the best!
Always wish I had the kind of cash to drop for a sweet rod and reel at an Orvis store - one day..
A nice place to visit for fishing equipment.
They have great clothes and outdoor wear and awesome reels
A great store; a little bit off the main drag; worth the visit; love Orvis clothing!
Friendly staff and a good selection of fly lures to pick from
Very nice customer service and very clean store. Always a good place to visit before a flyfishing trip.
Or is is awesome. Very helpful people.
Great store and friendly staff. Great stuff except that most of it is ridiculously overpriced.
Good quality clothing but very pricey !!
Nice place 👍 and good service
Nice store, great selection
Really good merch, esp highbrow fly fishing gear and supplies. I like to find good sale items there, like the leather dog leash we found thete. Best ever! Unfortunate, for me, clothes dont come in tall sizes ... and it is pricy.
Knowledgeable staff, but very expensive for my taste
They have an excellent selection at this location.
Helpful staff, high quality casual clothing.
Very nice and good fishing equipment and clothing
Outdoor shopping for the rich and famous, lol...
I applied before and after I moved hear from NY I worked at one in Ny and sold 150.00 per hour I think the manager is scared I will take his job . Or is it cause Im from NY . I can make better displays and look much more busy then these people
If you need ANYTHING for fly fishing, talk to Bobby!
Great orvis store! Has all the flies you need to hit the river!
Very clean and helpful employees
Dont enjoy it much anymore. Never really find any treasures there, but you wont see that while checking out the price tags. Even the clearance merchandise is priced above market value. This is just a status symbol store, which attracts a certain segment of the market, not everyday Joes.
It is mostly clothes with little fishing accessories and only for FLY fishing
I was in the area and stopped for a blowse.
Always find what Im looking for
Most expensive outdoor shop I have ever been in really nice products but way over priced
Quality gear. Not cheap. But quality.
Prices are a little high, but everything I purchased has been quality!
Beautiful store, nice product, WAY over priced
