We stopped for ice cream! Huge portions & fantastic prices! Superb service and exceptionally clean!

Came to Shelbyville on the wrong day, and found the right place to eat! Classic BLT was great as well as the fries. My son loved his bacon cheese burger, and chocolate milkshake. Staff was very friendly, prices were affordable, food was excellent. Stopped here because my 15yr old loved the name, best and delicious whoops this week!

I was disappointed, not in the quality of food but in the order we recieved. I ordered 2 pancake breakfasts to go because I was told it contained pancakes, 2 eggs and 2 pcs of bacon. I also ordered extra syrup and the server, Janice, assured she would nake sure the extra syrup would be included. When we got home all we had was two pancakes in each order, no eggs or bacon or extra syrup and if my husband had not checked there would have been no syrup let alone any extra. Someone failed here. It was very disappointing and by the time a customer gets home they are not going back to the restaurant. Bev

A small town charm!! This place has your typical diner meals with the added benefit of delicious ice cream! Stopped here after the splash pad, and had a delicious burger and milkshake combo. Great summer stop!!

Took around an hour to get our food, but it was pretty good. Our waiter was inattentive to us, but asked other people if they needed anything. Kindve alarming to see people touching all over themselves without gloves who make your food during Covid. All in all, the food was good.

Moose Tracks cone was awesome. Seemed like there was a pint of ice cream in the cone. Awesomely delicious.

Went with my wife on a random date was highly disappointed food was alright if you like rude customer service and people not wearing gloves when they make your ice cream just a sad disrespectful establishment especially to employees definitely hope the owner sees this and either does a personal inventory check or pass the business on to someone who is present and attentive to their establishment it’s just sad that the place looks so appealing yet once you sit down and don’t blend in (if you catch my drift) that you start to notice the stares and difference in treatment that other customers receive I could probably say that a majority of born and raised people from this area enjoy this establishment which really wouldn’t go with out saying considering the area but if your not from around here or don’t meet the status quote then better take your business elsewhere

The restaurant doubles as an ice cream parlor. The place was almost full still at 1:30 in the afternoon. Id definitely classify the Cow Palace as quick, fair priced, and tasty dining. My wife ordered the small tenderloin, and I got the regular. The small sandwich serves a 4.5 oz loin and the regular is a 6oz. Our sandwiches were cooked to perfection! They were crispy on the outside and hotn juicy on the inside. I asked for some pickle slices on the side and then threw them straight on the sandwich with a squirt of mustard for a little bit of acidity. The waffle fries were well seasoned and paired quite nicely with our hot sandwiches. The fish was fried very well. It was lightly battered and not too greasy. The Cow Palace is a cool little gem here in Shelbyville. Ill definitely be returning the next time Im in town.

Fantastic milk shakes and cheeseburgers. Little hole in the wall filled with lots of goodness. Will be back.

We were so happy coming into this location under new management what a great experience! And the women cheesecake ice cream is my favorite thing on the planet earth! Definitely recommend this place!!

Visited 7/19/2020The place is clean, not all employees are wearing masks but I’m okay with it since it makes it feel “normal”.The ice cream selection is limited to 18 flavors. Sounds like a lot but in reality it isn’t.Staff is friendly... a must visit

My waitress was amazing however the food was horrible. My frys were not with my order. My kids frys were half frozen still my fish was from a box of pre breaded cod that is supposed to be baked and it was deep fryd over cooked an so much grease

Stopped in for ice cream while on a road trip. The place was clean, people were friendly, and the ice cream was delicious!

A little pricier than I like but I did enjoy it. The fries were thick krinkle cut and cooked almost perfectly (crispy outside and mush inside). I got what was basically a grilled cheese burger. The presentation was lacking, but three bites in I knew I had made the right choice. There arent many places where you can drink Pepsi with your burger, but this is one. Its under new ownership so as long as they keep it up, it should do well.

Spent $50 on a carry out order for breakfast. Got a couple orders of pancakes and got all the way back home and they didn’t even put any syrup in the bag.

The people were absolutely amazing! The food was delicious as well. Special shout out to Janelle who went above and beyond for my 5 month old son when we didnt have formula.

My father and I had breakfast here last Saturday and had a very positive experience.The food and service was good and the waitress (Lanie) and manager very friendly.

Watched our food set and they reheated the bisc and gravy 2 times and still sat we ended up just leaving . Noone wants reheated food 2 times before they even re cieve it once.

Great service and a wide variety of ice cream flavors and sundae type configurations available. They also have excellent dinner choices however this particular visit we simply enjoyed a little ice cream inside a friendly and cozy atmosphere. Ive been to this establishment so many times over the years and it is never disappointing. Would highly recommend eating here or enjoying a milkshake, sundae, or a few scoops of a unique ice cream that is bound to put a smile on your face. By the way, I had the Blue Moon flavored ice cream and I will tell you it was phenomenal. If you like the cereal fruity pebbles, try a scoop of Blue Moon. Dont over think it, just try it and you will be impressed...

A long time Ive cream shop in Shelbyville In. I believe they serve food now. But I still go for the Ice cream, they have flavors you cant get every place like blue moon, sometimes you can still get bubble gum Iced cream. Friendly service, the place to go for shakes, malts Sundaes or cones

I used to order often when I worked in the neighborhood, and lived in Shelbyville. The Reubens are delicious, and everything is always fresh. Makes me miss my hometown.

I never been before yesterday. But the shake wasnt worth $7.00. Maybe $2.00. I ordered a large Peanut Butter Hot Fudge, Extra Thick...Well it hardly had any flavor of the peanut butter, and like a spoon full of chocolate fudge. It honestly tasted like a vanilla shake that maybe had some dirt in it. Arbys has a way better shake. Cheaper too.

Ever since this place has switched owners its gotten alot better. The servers are alot nicer. The food doesnt seem to come out burnt.

We stopped in for our first visit just to get an ice cream cone. The gentleman that assisted us was kind and courteous. The ice cream was pretty good, but they didnt have as wide of selection as I was thinking they would have. I think there were between 10 to 20 flavors. Are simple ice cream cones were worth the stop.

Ever since they transferred ownership a little while back, it hasnt been the same. The ice cream isnt as good, but its still above Meijer brand. Probably.I also saw a shipping label when one of the workers had to lift the bucket out to get the bottom from Shirleys, so I dont believe its being made in-house with many of the flavors anymore, if at all.

We came here for some ice cream and it honestly wasnt that bad. I have to admit though it tastes like it came out of a grocery store tub of ice cream. There was nothing spectacular about it but like I said it wasnt bad.It certainly has a mom and pop feel to it though. The moment you walk in you can feel it. I cant speak for the restaurant part of the store but it looked typical.

We were passing through and my wife was born in Shelbyville and wanted to go to the Cow Palace as she remembered it from her childhood. The food was just okay. I had the tenderloin which obviously was purchased frozen and tossed in the deep fryer. My wife had the bacon cheeseburger club sandwich which arrived cold and seemed bland and tasteless. The kids had the cheeseburger kids meals, which seemed better than our meals.After dinner we ordered ice cream before we left. It is the same commodity ice cream you can get at any other ice cream shop. Nothing special. I had ordered a chocolate malt and didnt realize until we left that they had forgotten to add the malt and it was just a plain milkshake.We likely wont be returning, even if we are in town.

The people are friendly and the service was great.We just went there again and although they have changed ownership, the food was just as good and the people are still very friendly and helpful.
