I personally would not recommend this Long Beach location to anyone! I took my car here on a Monday afternoon for a diagnostic on my Transmission. I signed my paper with my cars info on it with a estimate of zero. Long story short they kept my car until Thursday morning said the mechanic took 3 to 4 hours checking it out. I was charged $240 dollars for the diagnostic which should have been on the paperwork I signed. If the job only took 3 to 4 hours why did you keep my car for 2 1/2 days! Thomas likes to play a money game with you by asking whats your budget for this car? Instead of being upfront and giving you the cost of how much the job is going to cost. Last, when I brought my car there it had the engine light on and the ESC traction light. After realizing I did not want to do business with them because of the money game run around and I was on my way to pick up my car. I drove my car home and it was not only shaking the engine light was flashing on and off. My boyfriend brought it back just to find out they didnt put some thing back together the proper way, and they tried to tell him it was something else. We just wanted our car running without the shaking and engine light not flashing on and off the way be brought there. We had to buy a coil and have them put it on for another $70. And our car was running the way it was in the beginning. This location is a nightmare!
Took my truck in for a free diagnostic. Ended up having to pay for a βdeeper checkβ, they kept my truck for a week. Basically i got ripped off. I was charged for some hoses, really was for just 99cent clamps. They installed a sensor backwards. Left some wires cut and exposed. Broke my hood latch, i cut my hand trying to get it to open. i still get the chk light time to time. No good. Driveshaft supposedly they replaced a part but all i see is same used part. Im actually mad at myself for allowing them to rip me off. Oh well, lesson learned. Never again.
Knowledgeable and professional. Yet, super easy to communicate with and good sense of humor. They were responsive to my input and were on point with suggestions to better improve my cars performance and suggested a better maintenance schedule that I should follow for my car in comparison to my others. Customer service is good. They checked my car for free and gave me the results within 3 hours. They did forget to close the air filter housing after checking it but other than that I would recommend this place.
Having car trouble is never easy. Especially when your on your first road trip with your new born baby in the middle of July and your transmission is acting up. I was really not excited to have to spend part of my vacation worrying about my car being in the shop. But athomas at AAMCO in Signal Hill/ Long Beach,CA truly made the process and situation really easy and took the stress out of the whole thing for me.I showed up at 8AM on the dot on a Monday morning and from the moment I walked in Thomas was friendly and easy going. He was patient and kind in explaining the process to me and each phone call to explain what needed to be done and what my options were. He made me feel like I was able to fully understand what needed to be taken care of. They delivered on time and even helped me get my oil changed too so I didnβt Have to go somewhere else to get that done too.On the drive home my car ran perfectly with no issues. It was comforting to know my family was safe and we werenβt having to spend time in the heat on the side of the road while our transmission cooled down, again.
If you dont like someone, then send them here.The guy at the front desk, I think his name was Ron, never seemed to know what was going on. He would say hes going to call, then the next day, I would have to call him. This happened several times, then finally when I pointed it out he blamed me for rushing him, and being impatient or that he was always just about to call me. Basically, always had an excuse.I realize how pushy I sound in all of this, but from my perspective, if Im trusting you with my vehicle, and paying several thousand dollars for the work, then you can at least call me when you say your gonna call.Then when they wanted anything from me, its gotta be now, and Im holding them up.In top of all that our car still shifts hard into 2nd.Overall just a very poor experience.Edit: I should add that this happened near the end of last year. So maybe theyve changed.
Dont really know how to Express my incredible satisfaction I have with this location. Thomas the customer service manager has been more than helpful and honest with me since I started bringing my vehicle their over a year ago. I put 30 to 40k miles a year on it. They have replaced my transmission,water pump both front axles and now a refurbished engine. They always over deliver on service. Never keep the car longer than need be and just do an incredible job. My father was an auto mechanic for 53 years so Ive got a pretty good understanding what quality automotive services look like! I will never bring my vehicle anywhere else but AAMCO signal hill!
I just want to say thank you to all the honest reviews about this place... I can genuinely say Iβve saved myself a trip on going over there and will think twice about doing business with them. I would like to add all the very negative things Iβve read about this βemployeeβ βDavidβ and how truly ridiculous it is heβs still has a job there, I mean if it was one complaint I understood but numerous complaints throughout 3 years? I think new management is required and the owner simply doesnβt care! Truly disgusting.

DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP. Their free diagnosis (3 hour wait with appointment) of transmission fluid leak, slipping, and neutralizing recommended expensive major repair. I requested an inexpensive minor repair of the leaking gasket and change of fluid first to see if it helped. The manager, Thomas, refused, insisting that the transmission was seriously damaged, so the inexpensive option would just be a waste of money and not help in any way. I drove to another shop to fix the leak and replace the fluid, and the transmission immediately ran like new, for only $150.
They took all day to check my transmission and said that there was an issue with my catalytic converter when there was nothing wrong with it. They will say anything to get more money out of you.
So I brought my Acura MDX 2006 here because my car wouldnt shift and my D5 light was blinking. I called before bringing my car in. They seemed really nice and helpful.They did a diagnostic on my car and told me I would need a rebuild or a new transmission. I know transmissions cost a lot of money, so my boyfriend and I decided to get a second opinion. I called them to let them know I was going to tow my car elsewhere, Thomas got mad and started questioning me where and why I am going to take it to someone else. He hung up on me, that was uncalled for because thats my car, my money, my decision. I picked it up the following day and he still charged me $240 for doing nothing to my car. I towed my car to another place called Stus AE transmission and told them the situation and they said they would diagnose my car for free. They were very helpful and my car got fixed the following day. Turns out there was a broken cord and my transmission was completely fine. I am very disappointed in the treatment here not to mention I lost money for the wrong diagnoses. I felt like they were trying to scam me. Thank god I got a second opinion. Beware!!!
Im a bit late, but better now then never. Mr. Thomas was outstanding Gent of service to me. I got my truck back in the same week as the problem. They fix it brand new. I recommend them to any body thats trying to get the job done right. Thank you guys alot.
Very honest and knowledgable people. Took my car because i thought i was having problems with my transmission but it turned out that thats just how that type of transmission works. They could have easily said something was wrong and i would have probably spent a lot of money. There was a few things that i do need to do and i will take it to them to work on. Its hard to find good mechanics to work on your car, but these are those people. GOOD

First time going to AAMCO, I had a great experience!! I have a SAAB SUV this shop was recommended by 2 other shops in Long Beach. They are highly respected too. David was helpful and patient. Mechanics knew what they were doing and I was in and out of there!!!I love they are a family owned business, everybody seemed like they like working there too!!Thank you AAMCO for fixing my car!!!
They are ABSOLUTELY THE WORST place to bring a car to be fixed! I brought my car in because it was sputtering just the little. $3200 later and 2 weeks later I picked up my car with the exact same problem. They told me they did a diagnostic on it to diagnose the problem. So why is the problem still there? After taking it back and test driving with the mechanic he tells me it needs censor. Why did they find that in the 1st diagnostic test? Now they are waiting on that sensor so they can replace that and charge me another $150 to replace it. I urge everyone to not and I mean NOT to use this AAMCO for any business. I am also thinking of taking legal action to get my $3200 back for part that only cost a $150 and a $100 labor. And I wouldnt give it any stars!
Stay away! They charged me $366 for spark plugs and wires. Would you pay that? The labor alone was $220. So ridiculous. Got caught because I have too much on my plate. I should have been more careful here. I regret it. Dont make my mistake. Go elsewhere!

I recently visited the Signal Hill AAMCO and was extremely happy with the customer service and maintenance staff. David up in the from kept me informed of the progress and called to obtain my authorization prior to doing any work.Rico the shop supervisor did a great job diagnosing and coming up with a repair plan for my 34 foot, 1988 Mallard recreational vehicle. I was sad to learn that the tranny needed rebuilt but confident they were the ones to fix my issues.My total shop stay was 4 days and the staff stayed late, 2 hrs over to ensure I was able to get on the road back to Arizona.I would highly recommend this shop to anyone needing ANY mechanical repairs. I will stop by on my next visit to the Seal Beach area. They treat customers like family.

I went into AAmco to see why my check engine light popped on, The manager working the front desk was very polite, remembered me by name, once he asked it. Even as he answered the phone, he remembered their name too, I was impressed. They gave me a reason and also noted that I have delayed start up and followed it up by putting it in writing. Incredible service! Nothing but genuine care for finding the issue and getting the car fixed properly. Richard found exactly what the problem with my transmission was, showed me the parts and where they had worn down, explained everything thoroughly how everything works together and how the problem happened. He was upfront and honest. He kept checking up and updating me with the problem and how it was being fixed. He was nice enough to fix a few small things at no charge to me because he knew it was small and he could fix it while he could get to it on he lift. He asked me to come back a week later to check up on it some more. Nothing but outstanding service and care. They really do care here about the car running to its best and about the customer. Im definitely coming back here and telling everyone to do the same.

I took my FRS to this location and worked with Al. I found him to be not only very helpful, but a very honest mechanic. Something Ive searched for in this area for a long time. My car is running smoothing, and driving better than it has since I bought it a couple years ago, and he went out of his way to help me with my warranty, even after they initially denied coverage. I plan to bring my car to Al for everything after this visit.
BUYER BEWARE YOU ARE BEING WARNEDYeah, real nice and friendly. There is a real serious BAIT &SWITCH going on here..Especially if you leave your car or have it towed in..We started out w/a roughly $1500 estimate but 3-4 days later when we returned it jumped to $3100 after showing us the problem parts spread out on the work bench in a 1000 freaking part. Couldnt even get the car towed out of there if we wanted to..OK so they got us and after about a few days, by the way they did a great job, but by the time we got out of there we had a final bill of $3700 bucks. Needless to say we could have gotten that done at the Toyota dealer for that price. .As I stated BEWARE of that free tow and leaving your car there..Especially you LADIES ....BEWARE of THE BAIT AND SWITCH...
We drove up and made our 1330 appointment on time. Waited 15 minutes and they completely ignored us. Professionalism, customer service, morals and common decency are non existent here. No parking available not even on the street. They pick and choose and judge you by your vehicle.
Took my Honda Civic in because it seemed to have transmission issues. Car sometimes wont go over 5 miles/hour and rpms jumping all over. Left the car for a week! I called back to check several times. Was told no issues. Drove it out, made 1 stop and didnt even make it home before the problem started again. Such a waste of my time!

I went there because I had Engine Light on. They checked it and give me the recommendations for the further diagnostics and the issues. The guys seems really nice and professionals. The charges was little on the higher side. I would recommend it for sure.
Rip off report! We came back after a good experience with them, and got a complete different experience. They Charged me $2,800 to replace the transmission on a vehicle with 51k miles on it. Then they blamed the battery. After replacing the battery, they sent it home βall fixedβ and the lights on the dash flashed and it died a few miles from the shop. I paid to have it towed it back to the shop, they wanted to charge me another $300 to take out the alternator not including parts, the car is still broken. Oh, and they had it for about a month, and never returned calls or gave why it was taking so long. Donβt do business with this shop unless you want to pay money for a broken car.

This company steals, they told me they would fix my car for FREE (tried to charge me $2500+), As said by David the head guy. I kept calling thru days after many times he said were going to check it, call back, that then lead to weeks then months. I decided to find time off my work because they were taking too long and decided to pick my car up but he then told me on the phone someone has stole my car battery. Only to get there and found out everything I had owned was taken out my car. Valuable items and clothing. Thanks David. You really are scum & just know Ill be back with some lawyers thanks to the lying story you told me.

First time going to this AAMCO, I had a great experience.
Horrible service! I dropped my car off and they said they would do free check by the end of the day. Its now been 3.5 days and they are just getting to it. They acted like it was done but then played the run around telling me they just had to finish paperwork and find car!! I will never use this company again. I will tell anyone who asks if they would use this company I would say NO!!!!

We called and was told they could do a free estimate etc.. They charging 1000 just to put everything back in our car when we were told the estimate and diagnostic was free. We cant even get our car back. Never going back. Alk we want is our car back how we took it.
Went in there to get a check engine light code reading. Called ahead and they told me to come in anytime. When I got there, there were 3 employees standing talking and one guy named David smoking a cigarette. I told David I was there for a reading and he says he will need to schedule an appt. I say ok, and he says Come back 8:30 tomorrow morning. without taking anything down. Probably wont even remember me. It would have taken no more than 5 minutes by one of the clearly available staff to read the code (which could have possibly led to service work done by them).
They tell you that theyll read your engine light code for free, but then it will take about three hours to diagnose the problem, at $120 per hour. Not to mention what it will cost to fix it. Total scam.

Finally you quote me $1,400. I agree. But wait when i show up its not ready? Ok i shall wait here counting my breaths till i see you next. Now i show up again & its almost ready. But wait the price has tripled?! & its too late i cant get you to stop because you already bought the parts?! When i attempt to disagree you point to the fact that you got me to verbally agree to something vaueg that sounded nothing like tripping the price? Yes this is the love I can only count on you for.

Do not take your car here I took my car because the transmission fluid was very dark and my check engine light came on it took them one week to get back to me they told me it was going to be $150 then David called me and told me it was going to be $380 they never did change the transmission fluid or fix the issue all he told me was that they replaced a few hoses then when I took my car home I seen that there was no new hoses everything was exactly the same then my hood couldnt close and I had a marker all over my front of my car do not take your car here this is a major rip off... it looks like they didnt even touch the car and my maintenance light is still on
Worst service ever! Had to contact corporate,the loan place,business bureau and state board. Business bureau will show up to chek every single detail. My truck has never had a problem like this before till now! I am seriously afraid for then to mess it up even more now that they know I spoke to corporate. I will update on the result. Have paperwork copys,screenshot of calls and text. Already in the process of getting a lawyer. Payed for them to assume it was the gas pump and they charged me $ 750 David was the one I spoke to and he was the one to do paperwork and everything. Please take pictures of your cars before and after even of the screws. You will know if it was even touched. I shure did and glad I have all that saved. Please avoid this place!

Had a Nissan Xterra broken down in Long Beach. The manager David explained clearly what happened and how he could help fix this suv. Davids professionalizm showed throught out the whole repair. He was able to add something to improve the transmission so this type of issue cant happen again.I would not hesitate to bring a car to this Aamco.

This is a Horrible Auto Repair Shop to come to. Make sure that you stay away from here. Richard is a complete Scam artist and will purposely over charge you for minimal repairs. Im going back in the morning to pick my car up and take it to another shop before they ruin it even more !!!!! Im using my resources to sue this place for discriminatory practices !!!!!!!!!

I was in AAMCO signal Hill California on Friday for five hours waiting that check in my car they told me that it would be between 300 and $500 I stated OK and they told me to come back Monday I stayed it OK this Richard So I came back Monday which was today and they can get my car again for five hours I stay there then he which are going to come and tell me that is other problems and that it will be between $1800-$3000 I said to him you did not tell me that Friday and also that I would have to pay $150 now for them checking and diagnosing it . I stated to Richard why didnt you tell me this Friday and I wouldnt of came back today miss my job waiting for five hours for you to try to get more money out of me is it because Im a lady and that Im black is that the problem I suggest no one of color and no female go to that AAMCO thats not right that place leaves a bad taste in my mouth
