Jose Carlos Salas is a pro and as pleasant a service person as one may ever encounter. He under promises and over delivers. He gave me next day service for my MD state vehicle inspection if I would drop the car off in the morning and return at 4 PM. By 1 PM he had called to tell me the service was complete and my car ready. He clearly explained the inspection report and told me the steps I should take to complete my MD registration. I am new to MD and will definitely use Mr. Salas for all my vehicular service and repair.

Went to Forest Glen Auto Repair recently for both an oil change and brake repair - both of which I was able to walk-in for and have completed same day. Oil change took less than an hour and brake repair completed same day at reasonable price. Customer service was great - they even returned my call right away after initially missing it, which most places would not do.I definitely recommend for overall quality, timeliness and value. These guys are honest and work with you to resolve your vehicles issues.I can name countless times these guys went above and beyond to help me out. One time my truck wouldnt start, so I borrowed my sons car to stop by the shop to ask about towing. Carlos immediately lent me a jump pack and said try this, and bring it back with your truck to diagnose the issue. (Who does that?)Another time a rear suspension part rusted out on my truck and left a nearly 20 year old bolt still bolted to the frame. Carlos looked at it and said that he could remove it with no problem. Youll have your truck back this afternoon.When you enter the office, you will typically meet Carlos. Hes a great guy and a good listener who works with you to resolve your vehicles issue. Purchased a car in Virginia- needed a MD inspection. Needed something near work so that I could drop it off and pick it up. Have often purchased gas here so I called. Spoke with a delightful man, Carlos, who said that he was booked but if I could leave my car and he would squeeze me in. They provided excellent customer service, provided a cost estimate and stuck to it (even when an additional part needed to be replaced, Carlos charged only for the part not the labor), and they finished the repair in a timely manner. Moved from VA to Maryland; even with a valid out of state inspection, Maryland wants you to complete theirs before being able to register your vehicle. I called for an appointment and they were able to take me immediately and completed my safety inspection very quickly, and thoroughly explained what needed to be fixed to pass inspection. When I came back for my re-inspection, i had missed changing a lightbulb, which they changed for me for free so I wouldn’t have to come back a third time. Really quick and high quality service, great place for MD safety inspection, definitely recommend!

The SRS dash light went on in my wifes 2005 Honda. Of course, Im thinking, there goes another couple hundred. Carlos took a look at it, and determined all that was necessary was to use a lubricant on the drivers side seat belt. That look care of the light. He COULD have charged me for the service, he COULD have charged me for an hour of time. But he kindly fixed it gratis since it only took a few moments of his time. Its a great thing to find an honest mechanic. Ill definitely be coming back when repair/maintenance is needed on that vehicle again.

The transmission on my 2014 Ford Escape started to fail when my wife was returning from an exercise class. She barely made it to the Forest Glen station. Although my insurance company would have paid to tow the Escape to a local Ford dealership or Aamco for repairs, I decided get an assessment and estimate from Carlos. He ran it through its diagnostics and showed me the error code readout, gave me his recommendation and a quote for a parts and labor. I researched it online and found his diagnosis to be accurate and his prices for parts and labor very competitive.The Escape repairs were done on time and included a 100K warranty as well as a 1000 mile free after service check to ensure everything is working correctly. I drove it on a 500 mile trip shortly after it was repaired and everything worked fine.When you walk into his service center office, there are a number of training certificates on the wall, something you might typically expect to see at a major car dealership. What I discovered is Carlos use to work for Criswell Chevrolet for a number of years before going into business for himself. As a result, you are getting great technical expertise at a much lower hourly rate charged by a dealership.I would definitely recommend Carlos and his Forest Glen BP for repairs. Now that my cars are all past their warranty, I will likely go to Carlos for all future repairs and preventative maintenance. He is honest, hard working, and competitively priced.

Got a flat and my lug nuts had swollen so I couldn’t get them off. The mechanic came over with an impact driver and helped me change the tire and wouldn’t accept any money. Then my parents had their car towed over bc it wouldn’t start and the mechanics realized the battery just needed a solid charge- very honest people who won’t try to fleece you.

I just moved to Maryland and had to get my car inspected in order to register. Well, the MVA provided this location and I scheduled my appointment. The service/inspection m took about three hours to complete which is not bad. My only issue is that I had to call to check and see if my car was finished and when I did call it was finished. Makes me wonder how long it had been done prior to my call. I picked up my car and headed to the MVA. I was told that I had to wait a few for the inspection to show up in the MVA system, but that never happened. I’m not sure why, but the MVA made an exception because I had the inspection papers with me. I did call Forest Glen and was told that all of the information has been entered correctly, so I’m unsure as to what happened. The shop owner ended up calling me later to follow up and ensure that I was able to get my car registered which was great.
