Smithfield CVS is always busy!!! So hard to get quick service. Last time I was there, they helped me in my turn the best they could. Front young man at cash register was young, nice looking and very helpful. He is a definite plus for the store.
So I had never had to use a pharmacy this late at night before.. 11pm and as I quickly scrolling Google for a 24 Pharmacy.. this one (25 min+) away from home is the closest. .. I was skeptical after seeing the negative reviews...but when you dont feel well you go what you gotta do. I called prior to leaving home and the gentleman told me my husbands RX just came through from the DR. and he said it was minutes away from being ready. I let him know I was on my way. I got there.. (1st time visit) he took the insurance info quickly...we paid and we were on our way within minutes. very impressed & would recommend if you are in need of a late night RX run... cause at night is when you feel your worst and need comfort quickly!! thankyou!!
Was told my prescription would be filled by 6 got there at 6:10 had to wait an our in the drive through just to pull up to the window and was told My prescription wouldn’t be filled for another hour, I tried to call the cvs customer service line sat on hold for 30 minutes just for them to hang up on me. Needless to say I’m calling my doctor in the morning to transfer my prescriptions to anywhere but CVS, DO NOT GO HERE they will waste your time and give you an attitude about it.
Pretty average experience here, nothing too special. Sales person realllly wanted to sell us on some credit card or rewards program thing. We told her we weren’t interested but she couldn’t take a no. Pretty much wasted 5 minutes of everyones lives just for us to say no again hahahahah. I bought an orange and it literally wasn’t the color orange. It was more like a yellow, or a green. I needed one to pair with my blue moons that i bought. The beer was fresh and the only thing saving this review from being a 1 star.
Terribly understaffed with incredibly rude employees who could care less that the people they are meant to be serving are suffering due to their negligence. If youre having surgery, these folks will make sure that you have to wait several hours in order to get the pain medicine that you need, and theyll sneer at you to top it all off.
Do not use this pharmacy! Slow dont refill prescriptions when directed to. Not military friendly and refuses to use prescription discount cards like GoodRX. The worst pharmacy in Smithfield. Use Walmart, Walgreens or realo drugs for better faster more component service
Update: The medicine wasnt available until 2 weeks later... Good thing there is a Walgreens not too far because we were able to get it next day.Wife is in pain and had her DR send in something for me to pick up. Said it would be an hour, after an hour I drive up to CVS, told it would be 45 more minutes so I wait 45 minutes and drive back up and then get told they dont have it and to check back in tomorrow. Really? You cant tell me that sooner or call the number on file? Last time I had medicine sent here they didnt have it after 3 days and then said Id have to check with a manufacturer warehouse. I personally switched to Walgreen then and now the wife will be doing so. Shes in pain and needs what was ordered for TODAY not tomorrow, and you just let me sit around and waste my time thinking I was going to getting her help when I was just wasting my time!? Goodbye.
When I moved to Smithfield four years ago I found CVS dependable and helpful. Within the last two weeks CVS told me my new prescription had not been called in yet and I would need to contact the doctor. The doctor told me he was calling in a new prescription on a very important maintenance medication.on the day of my visit on on January 11. I went on the 12th to pick it up (I finally received it on January 15)and I was told it had not submitted from the doctor. My doctor’s office is not the most prompt for returning calls to their patients but they are to the pharmacy. So I know the doctor’s office sent the prescription in the second time because I went to their office. 5 hours later CVS gave me the same run around and told me they had not received the newest prescription. The employee finally decided to troubleshoot and it took less than 2 minutes of her time to discover it had been sent but CVS had it coded incorrectly. It still took another four hours for CVS to begin working on it and they only had 30 of the 60 pills I needed. There was nothing else that could be done until after the weekend because the prescription I had run out of by this point could not be transferred to another pharmacy. After this experience I remembered a similar situation that happened about a year ago.I have also experienced long waits on the phone as well.I will be moving my business to another pharmacy and hopefully I will have a better experience...after I explain to my doctor I only was given 2 weeks worth of medicine.
This pharmacy used to be really good, but over the last couple of years, it has gone downhill in every possible way. I had surgery a couple of months ago, and the nurses in the hospital told us that CVS said my prescriptions were already ready. When we went to pick them up, we were told that they didnt know anything about them and to give them thirty minutes. Thirty minutes turned into FIVE HOURS. Both the drive-through line and the inside line are always at least five deep. They almost never answer the phone. As youre standing in line, the message thing always repeats how many calls are waiting, and its never below 6-10. I have currently been on hold with them for over two hours because they promised three prescriptions three days ago, and they are supposedly still in process. This the LAST TIME I deal with this place. Theyve lost a years-long customer.
I have been on hold for almost 3 hours total about my daughter’s prescription shes 2 and is really fussy and I have called the store who said they were busy but its still been a whole other hour. Im really frustrated at this point! They never want to answer anymore or if I am able to get through then i get attitude from whoever answers.
I wish I could leave less than one star. This pharmacy, as everyone else has said, has incredibly long wait times whether youre calling, in the drive thru or in the store. As if that isnt bad enough, the customer service is awful. Last night, I called attempting to get a very important refill for my son. It took almost half an hour to get anyone to answer the phone. Once I was finally able to speak with someone, they took forever to gather my information. They kept putting the phone down, not on hold, so that I could hear the conversations they were having. I was disappointed to hear the pharmacy employees complaining about customers and socializing. Eventually, I was told that they had to figure something out and would call me back. Of course, I never got a call back. I called again this morning and after waiting (again) to speak to someone, I was told that the prescription couldnt be filled until I called my insurance company and had them change something in their system. So, after hours on the phone and talking to three different people, I finally found out that calling my insurance company is the only way to get this prescription filled. My young son still doesnt have his life-saving prescription.... I am moving to a new pharmacy as I type this.
Noone ever answes the phone and after holding for 45 minutes you get hung up on. I ordered my meditation on line and when it was shipped out I never received it.. At the store the waiting time is ridiculous I stood in line for 30 minutes where I was told my medication was not ready even though I received the text message that it was... I had to wait another 20 minutes to stand in another 30 minute line to get my meds. Dont even try the drive through unless you have a full tank of gas and an hour to kill.
This pharmacy never answers their phone, hard for my doctor to get in touch with them. All calls on hold at least 20-30 min
Dropped my scrip off at 9am and told two hours. Ok. So to be sure they had ample time to fill them, I called and was on hold for 15 minutes with no one picking up. I drove up and waited in drive-thru and sat still for 10 minutes in my car. I then backed up, parked, went inside and stood in line fire another 15-20 minutes. Once reaching the counter, they didnt know of any scrips, then found one on file, then were boggled when I said I had three being filled. After another five minutes of confused employees looking at each other, one lady found my paper scrip untouched on the counter. I was told it would now be another hour. That was 4:30pm. Not using them again.
I DO NOT understand how a pharmacy can just not answer the phone....EVER. Even my doctors office told me that they called and nobody ever picked up. This is the 3rd day in a row that I have called and held for 20+ min with no answer. Also, yesterday I went and stood in line (because that is the only way to talk to someone) and they said my prescription was still being processed but they would expedite it and it would be ready to pick up later that day. So I went back that evening and stood in line again only to find out that it was out of stock. I have been trying to get this prescription filled for a week. Ive been with CVS for a long time but I will be taking my scripts somewhere else going forward.
Delays in filling, takes 10+ mins to get someone on the phone, and pick up is even slower. Currently in line and I am at almost an hour, with the time they are going I will be in line 2+ hours. This is a medicine I need and I have been out 5 days because of a combination of being out of stock and no filling it on the date me doctor requested. Also because of the type of medicine it is difficult to transfer so I am stuck in line so I can function for the rest of my day.Still in line, will probably go over the 2 hour mark.2 hours in line, told wasnt ready even though it was supposed to be ready 3 hours ago. It will be filled an hour from now, I just waisted my time and have to do it again.
Had to go for a COVID test today (first and hopefully last). I waited to get in line until my appointed time. Only one car in front of me. Pulled up after a 5 minute wait, which seems reasonable. Lady at the window was nice and walked me through the process. Two cars pulled up behind me in the COVID testing line. It pretty much did take 10 minutes to process paperwork and take the test, so yeah, the people behind me had to wait. No problems at my end. Thanks for being nice to me while Im sick!
This, most recent, experience is one of many unpleasant ones ... Dr. called in prescription on Wednesday. Friday morning 8:30am, prescription was in the works, at 1:30pm, it was still in the works, give them 30 minutes. There was 1 pharmacist and 50 people waiting. Drive-thru was to the highway. Finally after 1.5 hour wait I was told they did not have the med and would have to order it, would be in Monday. Just came from CVS and med is not in - expected Tuesday after 3pm. It has been almost a week and still no med. This store is understaffed, wont answer the phone and very slow in filling prescriptions. CVS is my drug plans preferred pharmacy. Wonder what criteria is required to be preferred. As I waited, 3 people were waiting to see the manager to express complaints.
Plan for at least an hour wait inside or outside. If ur in need of meds in a hurry for any reason please choose a different option. This location will let u down every time. Thanks
This pharmacy has tremendously gotten bad in a short period of time. Long lines, confused staff, prescription everywhere. Out of stock. Promise my meds would be in but theyre not. Not very helpful.
The wait is too long for the pharmacy inside and in the drive through. If you try to call the pharmacy, you will never get through. They do not answer. Terrible and ridiculous!!!!
I have auto refill on my prescription but it hadn’t come in yet so I called it in and went to pick it up. I waited in line for 20 minutes and found out that the prescription had not been filled. The lady told me it would be about 30 minutes before it was ready. I waited 50 and tried again she said it’s still not ready and it’ll be about 20 more minutes I explained that it already waited for a really long time she said I’ll expedite it. I said well then how long will it take. She said about 20 minutes. It’s been 20 minutes and I’m still not getting my prescription
If I could rate it without giving any stars, I would have. I’m writing this review while waiting in line because I’ve been here way too long. I’ve been in this line for over an hour already. Don’t bother calling either because they won’t answer. I called 3 times before coming and I was on hold for over 30 minutes.
Prescriptions are never done when they say they will be... wait times are outrageous. I received a text asking if I needed my prescriptions refilled. I replied Yes. They responded saying my prescriptions would be ready 3 days later. I tried to call regarding my prescriptions several times over a two day period. I waited on hold for 20-40 mins each time and never spoke with anyone from pharmacy.. eventually I did get in touch with someone In the front of the store and left my name and phone number. They never called me back. Clearly they do not value their customers. I switched pharmacies. Realo Pharmacy in Smithfield is much more personable.
I was going to fully review this location but then I looked at the other reviews and they covered it all already. Something is wrong at this location and it really needs fixing.
Dont understand been waiting for over 26hrs for my medicine due to a stomach bacteria keep telling me wait 15 min . Wait over an hr. and no medication, keep saying in process and have to wait an hr. plus in line, to say not ready yet understaff, no phone pick up,terrible service . We are 10 in family 👪 we are going to change pharmacy. Horrible Service at 1180 Brightleaf Blvd, Smithfield NC 27577
Dont bother calling the store no one will pick up. If you drop off a Prescription just know it will take more than two hours to fill from the time they receive it. The clerks act like you are a inconvenience. Sadly its the only drug store close to me. If you are able to travel futher to a different CVS or drug store do it. Save yourself the headache.
Cvs in Smithfield has terrible customer service they wont answer the phone and they just dont try to help customer s at all
Medicine prescription it automatically send each month and you still have to wait 24 to 48 hours before it ready. Then went you get there still have to wait 30 more minutes or longer . Time to change pharmacy.
Find somewhere else. In drive-thru line for COVID test. I just moved up one car after sitting still for 24 minutes. If that holds up, which it now seems it will I’ll be waiting around 2.5 hrs for my required “appointment”. The most poorly managed store of any kind I’ve ever seen! Not the first time this has happened but it will be my last.
The pharmacy staff at this CVS is always so friendly and helpful. The employees at the front of the store always greet me with smiles on their faces and offer assistance to find whatever I need. The outside of the store signage needs updating, but the customer service here is wonderful.
They are horrible! Dont answer calls, and never have the right medicine so your having to wait an additional 1 hr because they seem like they cant get anything done correctly!
I have been calling for the past 4 days to speak to the pharmacy about a prescription I need filled. I just transferred from another pharmacy, WRONG DECISION!! I have been on hold for more than 30 minutes at a time with no luck. With as many bad reviews I see, someone in CVS corporate needs to look into this location.
Make my family an appointment for Covid testing came early waited in line for over 30 mins just to get to the window and the rep tell me our system is down. Smh
Absurdly long delays for Covid testing drive through. Pharmacy is ridiculously understaffed.
Easy to refill prescriptions, in fact they automatically text me to let me know they refilled my script and its ready for pickup. Sometimes have a bit of a wait but nothing to crazy. Friendly and helpful people there, it is clean and organized. I went to another pharmacy in town to save a few dollars, it ended up being a disaster, will never switch again.
Have been trying to transfer my prescriptions for 2 weeks to another pharmacy. I have been in the store 2 times and still cannot get them transferred. They are not refilling automatic refills. Not filling medicines called in by your doctor! This is completely unacceptable!!
Had to give at least one star otherwise they would not have been given any by me. Due to my husbands job which only allows us to use CVS for prescriptions, we have had to use them. They DO NOT answer the phone in the pharmacy...I have waited an hour on the phone several times this year and also last year. I got tired of that so I wrote to the Corporate Office who was nice enough to respond saying they would be investigating that store, it seems that those issues of not answering the phone have NOT been resolved, leaving me (I have a compromised immune system) to have to drive 25 miles one way to talk with them, of course standing in line with potentially sick people, when they could have simply just answered the phone. They wont be getting any type of business again if that is how they run the place. Shame on you CVS, shame.
Once again ive requsted a prescription be refilled only to arrive 2 days later & be told were still working on it...
If you dont have to go here, dont.
This place is the biggest joke. Not the employees fault, they just have no help. One man filling prescriptions and 3 people waiting on customers inside and drive thru..You can’t get thru on the phone.. be prepared to stand in line for an hour or sit in drive thru for 45 minutes. It’s ridiculous...
Called twice today, 10/29. I needed to speak to a pharmacist. I was on hold for 25 minutes both times and finally hung up without ever speaking to anyone! I tried calling the front of the store but each time the system ended my call without connecting me with anyone. Both me and my husband are long time customers.
Absolutely horrible pharmacy. The last thing you want to deal with when you are sick is sitting on hold endlessly (literally over 25 minutes each on 2 separate calls) to find out info about your scripts and still not able to get through. Spoke to the manager and nothing done, not willing to go try and help. Stay away.
Worst pharmacy ever. Wait times are terrible. They take customers in the store first, drive-through next and on the phone last. I work in healthcare......this is so unprofessional.
Why no one answers phone..
I’m writing this as I’m waiting in line and have been for 2 HOURS! Changing pharmacies this place doesn’t have it together at all.
Called the pharmacy and never got an answer. Put on hold forever and still holding.
Associates were helpful. We also use the drive thru to limit our exposure to any contagion.
Very rude.
Waiting for over an hour after a scheduled appointment and then being told the nurse is on lunch break. To wait another hour and get back in the back of the line.
How is it a doctor send a prescription electronically x2 and this pharmacy don’t have my meds ready. Word of advice, get I.T. department to look at your computer system or maybe it’s a better App for that! CVS has poor service, especially for filling prescriptions. Ridiculous!! They should go OUT of business!! Hopefully Amazon will put them out of business very soon!!
The Drive-Thru Pharmacy line is beyond ridiculous! I waited over an HOUR!!! They have a sign outside pickup and drop off available in all lanes but put a typed message stating only one lane available.
Pharmacy is a disaster. They take forever to fill prescriptions. My last prescription was called in at 1:00 pm I went to pick it up at 7:30 pm and they said they need another 30 minutes to fill it. I will never come here again. Go to Walgreens
Called at 8:30am to speak with someone in the pharmacy, I’ve been on hold for 45 minutes two separate times without an answer.
This place sucks its the worst keep you waiting and keeps you on hold on phone for along time over 90 mind
NO ONE ANSWERS THE PHONE ANYMORE ON HOLD FOR MORE THAN THIRTY MINUTES
I cant get past how slow they are to fill a prescription in order to give them stars for anything else. Unbelievable. Im basing this off almost a decade of experience with them. This was the last time. Im using a new pharmacy from here on out!
They never have prescriptions ready even after they text its ready. The only reason I gave them 1 star is because I had to push something. Stay away people!
The absolute worse pharmacy that Ive ever been to and Im taking my business elsewhere. Pharmacy never answers the phone for customers. Ive walked in store waiting for them to answer my call after waiting a hour on the phone and showed the pharmacist. No one is in the pharmacy line at the time.
The staff here is always pleasant enough, but the wait times — whether on the phone, in the drive thru, or inside — are the absolute worst! They often don’t have the medication you’re prescribed and won’t call you to tell you — you only find out when the app tells you it’s been “in process” for more than a day. For people with medical conditions or those just discharged from a hospital, it’s unacceptable.
I came through the drive thru at 8:00am on a Thursday. I was 3rd in line and it took me 26 minutes to pick up my prescription that was dropped off 3 days before. This is the last time I will use this pharmacy!
Hate to post bad reviews but...it ALWAYS takes over an hour to get someone on the phone.
Never been to this CVS before just moved to this area. Late night pharmacy staff extremely helpful. Rx was missing info but they were able to lookup (not without extensive efforts) what they needed to otherwise process. They understood the urgency and were extraordinary efficient in extrapolating the needed info otherwise missing and expedited the processing/filling of the Rx. Thank you so much! My wife and I are very greatfull!
While on the road traveling, my wife became ill, and we needed to get a prescription filled quickly. We found the Smithfield CVS, and they couldnt possibly have been more helpful. We explained our situation, and the pharmacy tech was very sympathetic, letting us know that it wouldnt take long. The pharmacist filled it quickly with a smile and encouragement, and we were on our way. Folks who live in Smithfield are fortunate to have such a caring pharmacy.
I came here for Tamiflu at 2:40am after an ER visit for my 5 year old, I forgot everything at home and the African American lady said she couldn’t pull up my sons Medicaid number in the website when I’ve never had a problem until now so she was gonna charge me “about $200” so I ended up calling the hospital and luckily they gave it to me over the phone, some people have just picked the wrong career it’s sad we suffer the consequences other than that cvs has never really had my meds on time
The lady at the drop-off desk told me that they didnt have my medicine in stock but that shed order it and I could pick it up the next day. I went in the next day and talked to the lady at the pick-up desk and she told me that it wouldnt be in for another 7 days. I wasnt going to wait that long so I asked if there was another CVS that had it in stock. I was directed back to the drop-off desk. She called Clayton and asked if they had the medicine but never told them it was for me or to put it on hold. She literally just asked if they had it, told me yes, and sent me on my way. So now Im waiting in Clayton for the Smithfield CVS to remove the pending status under my name so that they can find the medicine I need and fill my prescription. Ill probably avoid the Smithfield CVS from now on.
I had to fill a prescription today. I called to ask a few questions about my insurance and the lady I talked to was a smart ass and very snappy. I told her thanks and I hoped her day would get better because she sounded very aggravated and bothered. She said thank you and you too!! I got where I hate your store and will find another location. thanks for no help at all..
We went in to get Easter stuff and was told we couldnt use the bathroom. CVS if youre looking to lose customers this is one way to do it.And in case anyone wondered, cvs photos split into separate pieces. They arent worth a flip.
I always enjoy coming into this CVS. They treat me like someone they actually care about.
Drive thru is infinite.
Came here at 3:20am, to fill 2 prescriptions for my sick son. The pharmacist, Chris, was so nice. He went over and beyond to contact the hospital to change the meds, cause my insurance wouldnt cover the med. He also noticed that one med, was given to my son a month ago for the same sickness, and might not work, this time. He had that changed as well. Now this CVS is our new Pharmacy. Thank you CHRIS.
Ive filled my prescriptions here for many years now, the staff are friendly, helpful, though sometimes they are super busy and the wait is long to be assisted.
Consistently terrible always crowded loose scripts never give accurate pick up times. Have waited days after pick up only to be told it will be ready in an hour. They blame DR for problems with scripts or sometimes its the computer crashing and a number of other reasons that its not their fault. Ive only been met with courtesy from counter people but its just not enough to be worth the aggravation of the every day incompetence of the Pharmacy itself. I have changed to another CVS in the area and wow what a difference.
Great customer service!! On vacation from NY and forgot my med they where able to transfer my prescription and get me the meds I need TY so much!!!!
Everytime I drop a prescription off for my kids in the morning come.the next morning at 2am to pick it up I have to wait 30 minutes to get the meds. Waiting after a 14 hour shift is crazy I may as well stay to make sure it gets done. Or it never will
The absolute worst place to come get your meds, its always the ultimate headache, been coming here 15 years you would think they know what my medications are by now, drive thru isnt any better either, they harass you on the phone about picking meds up only to wait an hour when u get here and even then their not correct..Walgreens here I come !!!
Great service, especially for a chain pharmacy.
I have the flu and came here, 24 hours my butt. They are so lazy. I sat at the drive thru for 20 min. I tried calling them as I sat there and no would even pick up the phonr. I dont know how your even in business over here.
Common sense is obviously not a virtue required to work here. Mind numbingly stupid.
Called 30 minutes in advance for a prescription transfer from another cvs. Arrived, they havent even looked to see if the script came in. Told me to come back in an hour and theyll be ready. Came back 2-2 and a half hours later and they still werent done. Waited an additional 15 minutes to get them expressed filled. Worst cvs experience.
Helpful, but you must have patience.
You say its a 24 hour pharmacy but you dont fill maintenence meds until 8am at your Smithfield NC location.
Hard workers and very polite.
Even the store manager makes sloppy excuses for a high volume store. I just removed my $6000 monthly prescription account from these incompetent idiots.
Every time I come here there is always a long line. Takes forever to get through the line only to be told that your scripts are not ready and they are always blaming doc saying that they must have forgot to send over the scripts.
The lines are long and it seems like everytime i go to get medicine i cant because something is wrong
Staff here are rude and not helpful. We take our business elsewhere after several times of being treated like crap here.
They do not reply to calls. Very inept.
Always friendly and fast!!
Good dells
Terrible pharmacy store ever!
Great service
Horrible Experience
Long line today.
Its my favorite pharmacy, thats why I consume my products there, and the workers are great, a 10 for everyone.
