Comprehensive eye exam is a joke, and doctor does not answer questions. I requested for a email/printout copy of my retina scan, and that was a very wierd request for them (not yet fulfilled, their email person was out)Whole charade was just to make me buy glasses from them. Not concerned about eye health.Needless to say, will take my business elsewhere for glasses. And definitely not visiting them for eye exam.Positive: eye exam was quick, no wait time with appointment.

I would give them a minus if I could! One lady at the check-in desk for appointments was rude! I was a walk-in and even though they had an opening at 10 she told me they was booked. I know they had an appointment at 10 because as I walked away another lady told her she should have put me down at 10 since there was an opening. I called corporate and they said they do not do walk-ins. That is a lie!!! It is literally on their doors that they do!!!! VERY POOR customer service here and with corporate. I got in at the Murfreesboro location with ease.

First time going to an eye doctor since 2008 as a little girl. I am now 27, and my first experience back was everything. The staff was so awesome, kind, and knowledgeable. I was one of the last patients of the day, and even at closing they were still patient. My girlfriend introduced me to this awesome place, and we will definitely be seeing more of Visionworks and Dr. Michael Lopykinski.

This is the 2nd time visiting. I made an appointment online but wait time was almost 2 hours for my son’s eye exam. Afterwards, the optometrist’s didn’t give me any information about my son’s eyesight other than his exam outcome was very different from the last. I will say the office staff was very friendly & helpful but I don’t intend on returning. Will definitely look for another place to take him to next time.

I had an appointment and they were running about ten minutes late. Everyone was professional, kind and knowledgeable. Took me in, doctor was a great listener.Staff in the front helped me with glasses info I did not know even after wearing glasses for over 10 years. I was seen, fitted and out the door in less than an hour. Great experience and I will definitely recommend this place AND STAFF to others. Great people!! Thanks

I had to go back 3 times to correct my vision prescription which is still not correct. The doctor claims my prescription over the years has been strong. My new prescription is still too weak for distance and is now causing headaches. I will be going elsewhere for another opinion. Other than that the staff was pleasant but the whole experience with the eye doctor was undesirable

Went to pick up new glasses only to find a note on the door saying they were closed due to no dr. Dont know how that makes them close but whatever. Poor service. This place use to be good but now its just not the same. Had an appt for my kids over the summer and they call 1 hour before appt to cancel due to no dr again. I hate glasses wanting to pick up that I cant have.

All of the workers inside were very professional. This was my first ever eye exam and they were very understanding and and patient about me asking tons of questions. They made me feel very comfortable about it as well. They have a great selection of glasses and at reasonable prices!

I called and asked the front staff earlier that day if I could be seen my regular exam and a swollen eye. They stated yes. When I get in to see the Dr. he refused to address both issues. He said he could only do either the eye exam or the exam for the swollen eye. Why? I don’t know if he was already looking at my eyes. He smelled like cigarettes and was rushing through my exam. I have never experienced such behavior before from a clinic. I would never treat a patient the way I was treated.

Been going there for a couple of years everything was good, made appointments for my family a 3 block scheduling so we could go one right after another I received a reminder the day before to confirm my appointments no issue I go in there today for my appointments and was informed I had people in front of us now it would be 1-2 hour wait? Very unprofessional no need to have appointments if you have to wait that long. I understand running a little behind but a courtesy call would have been great they waited til after we filled out or paperwork to tell us about the wait. Very disappointed in the handling of scheduling.

Visionworks in Smyrna, TN has a group of very professional workers. They were quick and efficient, and setting up an appointment with them was easy. The paperwork for being a new customer was only 3 short pages, and I was in and out within an hour. The eye doctor also took the time to listen to my concerns about a previously spotted scar on my left eye, and also gave me some advice to hopefully help prevent my glasses’ lenses coatings from coming off. The check-out process was quick and simple, too, and fairly inexpensive. I’ll be ordering glasses online, and they gave me my prescription and my PD which is required to order online.

First visit months ago went well but tried taking my daughter and they were an hour and a half behind. Told me we had to wait and couldn’t even come back when they were ready. Horrible business practice when they are the ones at fault. Don’t take appointments if you can’t meet them or accommodate. At least a call so we didn’t waste out time would have been nice.

My husband went to this Visionworks and had a horrible experience. First, he had to fill out the paperwork again after filling it out online. Additionally they requested the Primary insurance members last 4, which has never been necessary at any other doctor we have been to. When they entered his information into the system they said he was only eligilble for an eye exam and nothing else. When I know through my insurance company website this eye doctor is in network and covered for eye glasses. Next he waited 90 minutes past his appointment time to finally be taken back to see the doctor. No one explained to him the issue and why he was waiting so long, until he saw the doctor and the doctor told him they were running behind. Well obviously! This is the most unprofessional and rude doctors office we have ever been to and will definitely not be back. I would not recommend anyone go here.

I had a wonderful experience at Vision works in Smyrna- the doctor was helpful, respectful and down to earth a true gem- the staff was also wonderful and worked with me to get me rescheduled when I had an error with my insurance. They also helped me to find beautiful glasses that I felt pretty in. I appreciate all of them. Thank you for a good experience.

It does not take 50/50 vision to see why this location has a low rating.I was unfortunate enough to visit this location on more than one occasion. In my most recent encounter I contacted this location to set an appointment, and called ahead to confirm the time on what I thought was the day of my appointment. I made my way to smyrna and was told by the lovely Tiffany; she wasnt warm or friendly, I was not on the schedule and I would be waiting 45 minutes to an hour.So what day WAS my appointment you may ask. Great question!I had to ask the same thing to assist our wonderful friend Tiffany with being proactive in providing information she probably could have discovered on her own. Maybe I have a future as a receptionist at vision works since answering the phone obviously is not a requirement! Anyways, I have extremely dry eyes and even after mentioning this to the optometrist I still received contacts that contributed even more to this chronic dryness. So much for seeing clearly! Safe to say I will not be returning.

I decided to try this place given that they have a better selection than Target Optical, and because it has more space. The target optical place is small, and I didn’t feel comfortable going in due to COVID. This was a HUGE mistake, and I will be running back to Target after my vaccinations. Don’t get me wrong, Vision Works can definitely get you nice glasses. But your exam will be a mess. They get two stars because scheduling is easy, and they have a great glasses selection. The people in this office are rude, cold, and unhappy it seems. There’s one optician (employee?) who is nice and seems to be the only one that knows what’s going on, and so she spends time scrambling to help the two receptionists while also trying to get initial tests for patients. I had to call my insurance and have them fax over proof to vision works letting them know I was insured...because they claimed they couldn’t do it themselves despite having my card. That’s the most absurd thing I had ever heard, and I had never had that issue before with the same insurance, and at different optometry places. I honestly felt like they were putting some of the work onto me because they were so swamped and unorganized; The insurance rep on the phone was even confused about it and laughed! Now for the optometrist I saw: he was tooooo hyper, and was jumping from room to room without washing his hands. He’d be in my room for a minute or two, talking a mile a minute and adjusting stuff, then he’d jump to the room next door and do the same thing. Repeat every 3 minutes or so with fake and forced small talk from said OD. This double booking of patients made my appointment take SO LONG. The OD’s at Target take their time with you, and there’s only one exam room so they don’t double book. They have VERY low turnover, The assistants seem happier, and they know what they’re doing!

I love that they had my prescription available-4.25 8.4 Acuvue Oasys 14 (12pack$86). When all others only carried up to -4.00. I didnt like that their price was 2x Lensdirect.com. $30 more than Walmart. However, I was on a time crunch and couldnt wait for delivery. Thats why I gave them a 3 versus a 1 because of price alone. The associates were nice enough, helpful and also offered a 60% discount on glasses or sunglasses for getting contacts with them. However, I hope to not have to use them in the future. I paid $20 copay for my glasses last year and they were just a basic model nothing fancy on them. If I didnt have insurance I wouldve had to pay over $200. Where as I ordered a decked out pair of sunglasses from Zenni.com for $48. It had the the thin lenses, scratch resistant, anti-glare, and came with a free case. So if your in a bind come here but if you can wait go elsewhere.

The staff members were friendly. Lots of laughter with Ms. Melissa. Dr. Williams’ exam was thorough and I was pleased.My insurance covered everything but the back-of-eye pictures (instead of drops and dilation), but I was glad to pay $19 not to have blurry vision and light sensitivity on the drive home.

The place is very unorganized. I had to pay out of pocket for our first visit because they said we had no insurance. I got home and confirmed I had insurance. They did reimburse me at the next visit for contacts however we arrive at our 2nd visit 15 minutes early and waited an hour and 15 minutes to see the provider. The staff tries their hardest but the provider is not in an hurry. I’m very dissatisfied with the service that we have received here and I will not be coming back.

Thought I would give this place a shot, with always advertising buy one get one or buy one get 1 half price. Half price glasses were almost $700. No thanks! Now it is costing me another $60 to repair my glasses. Seems they forgot to inform me that if left in a hot place (automobile) the lens will ruin. Their reply was well most people always wear their glasses. Well not all people have to wear them always. Needless to say I will not be going back when its time for new glasses.

Look for a Visionworks near you I have been a customer for over 10 years between two different locations. They have seriously figured out how to make it a delightful experience so all you have to do is just figure out the appointment time. On a Saturday morning all in one hour we both had exams, contact fitment, and picked out our glasses in one hour. The staff is knowledgeable and professional. Why go anywhere else when they get right every time .

Giving it a three star rating. The office staff was friendly though they seemed to be operating under high stress due to a scheduling issue. I wasnt seen until an hour and 45 minutes after my appointment time because three people whod come in after me were called back before me. Another lady wasnt even on the schedule but screamed her way on the schedule before me as well. The doctor was super awesome, very professional but fun. The exam was overall maybe 15 minutes tops. Just frustrating that I had to wait an hour and 45 minutes past my appointment time for it.

I wish I could leave zero stars. There is a reason they have to offer $1 eye exams to get customers in the door. The eye doctors I dealt with were both nice but the front desk staff are extremely rude. Initially, I thought perhaps they had just been having a bad day. This wasn’t an isolated incident. Employees are disrespectful.

The Dr. there told me to call him Mike and was extremely nice and personal. I will always go back. Not only was he amazingly kind he was very thorough and went in depth with me. The first eye Dr. to really explain my situation with me. He also got me the right prescription and I can see my last eye appointment with a different Dr. didn’t give me the correct prescription and it actually was uncomfortable. They have a permanent and forever customer.

You can start by having staff speak to customers when they enter the store. They were all just standing there staring at us when we got in, the manager included. Not a very friendly environment to walk in to. Our appointment was scheduled at 9am so we were the first there. We had to wait a few minutes to get in. The optometrist was snarky and kept telling me about policies that would help the process go smoother. But then he said theres no way I could know what the people in the front should be asking me to make that process simpler. All I wanted from him was to compare our eyesight information from last year since this is where we came. We will definitely NOT be coming back. If it wasnt so close to the end of the year, we would have walked out IMMEDIATELY! Vision Works does not know or care to know about simple customer service. Just SAD.

Took them over an hour to even locate my insurance . Then they tried to tell me I could only get 1 pair of glasses even though I knew my insurance paid for 2. They gave my daughter glasses that the lenses were broke and tried to say they didnt do it. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Went to Martin Eyecare and got the 2 pair of glasses I knew insurance covered with ease.

I had a good experience with the staff and the people in the front helping me get my paperwork completed for my exam. I didnt receive a lot of assistance or personalized care when I was shopping for my frames or when I had questions.When it came time for my exam, I felt as if I was inconveniencing the doctor by being there. He rushed through my exam because I kept him from eating his lunch and didnt take any time to answer questions or have a discussion about the eye-care that I desperately need but dont know my own answers to. My exam was incredibly brief. and although I was given a prescription and offered to order off of it, I dont feel confident in what I was given because of how quickly it was performed.I am going to double-check my prescription somewhere else to be sure its what I need.

The only reason I am giving this 3 stars is our second visit was way better than our first visit in less than a week. Our first visit we saw Dr. Williams and he was terrible! He saw my 3 year old and gave the eye exam like my child was an adult. He over prescribed her eye in one eye. We had to go back a second time, 4 days later because when she received her glasses she was crying that one of her eyes hurt worse than the other. This time we switched doctors and saw Dr. Michael. He really took the time to examine her and used his knowledge about the eyes. He pretty much did her eye exam manually after receiving her prescription from the computer. Also, he put the prescription lens in a test like glasses to see if she could see what was on the chart. He under prescribed her so that she would get used to her prescription because it is pretty high. Over prescribing her would of really hurt her eyes. He also gave me the knowledge to prepare her for her next exam so it would help him prescribe her better. The staff was a lot of help in making sure the computer script was getting it right and provided her with stickers and a lollipop for her good work with the machines. If you end up going to Vision works with a small child make sure you call in to schedule an appointment and ask for Dr. Michael! The front desk people could use a bit more training. However, they were still nice. No one is perfect.

So i brought my glasses into my optometrist to have the lenses upgraded as my eyesight is getting worse.long story short, they broke my glasses and told me that a replacement could be ordered in and they kindly offered me the cost price which i refused.i asked why i should be paying when it was their fault and she told me the glasses are 2 years old .. while flicking through my file to which i replied i wasnt aware that glasses had a use by date.no warning was given to me that the frame could break while having the lenses changed visually by way of signage or verbally when i had the lenses ordered in.The receptionist has a very rude attitude she was arguing with me telling me in my face that the glasses were already broken! If that was true why they took them? She said I don’t know I wasn’t there. I don’t know her name but she is veryI hope the manager can help me out with the issue and I also hope has a better attitude. I’m not a new costumer but this is the worst experience ever.

The appointment system is terrible.. Walked in expecting to be seen on time. But instead they scheduled a whole herd of people at the same exact time. Was there for hours! They didnt help me pick out frames. The staff is all about socializing amongst themselves instead of being helpful. Received a call that my glasses were ready. Drove all the way there jus to be insulted by the staff saying we didnt call you, they arent ready. Did you actually listen to the voicemail... The hell. Obviously I received the message or I wouldnt show up for no reason. Now my glasses are supposedly ready after the estimated time frame. I had to call to check because they didnt let me know. Ugh.. Worse office I have visited. And I thought the bell rd location was sad. But this takes the damn cake.

I had to wait several months to make a review, I do remember seeing Dr Mike two years ago, very friendly, professional and he cares for his patients.On the other hand, last year, Dr Williard Williams is insensitive for who I am. While waiting for the Dr to call his patients, but first he picks up the small patients file from the receptionists desk, then goes in his office for a minutes and came out and calls his patient.I firmly believe he profiling his patients. Not only that, he dressed inappropriately for his job. He doesnt do well and cant be patient with his patients.This place is like run of mills company, I am going to see the better doctor of optometry, just stay away from that Visionworks, it is not worth it.

I went to the store to pickup my glasses but one of the parts was loose, I left them to be fixed. One week after I went again because I havent receive I call to explain me when the glasses will be ready. Is this a standard time frame to fix brand new glasses? Why nobody knows when they will be ready?

Theyre definitely more expensive and most of the staff is super rude. Ive been there a couple times and the woman in the front is a real piece of work. She should consider a profession where she doesnt interact with people. Very hateful...cut me off when I went to make a statement or ask a question. Just not a nice woman. Dr. Williams put my 7 year old son in bifocals and basically refused to recheck him. I had him checked by another eye doctor who found he needed no glasses script at all. Ill give 2 stars instead of 1 because on my first visit Kim went the extra mile to take care of our 4 kids without an appointment! I really appreciate her kindness.

I wouldnt even give them a 1 star rating but that is only cause Dr Maes is so great. The staff is rude and the wait is long. I have been trying to get contacts and glasses for a year now that I can see out of. They may have a $59 eye vision but its not worth the time and effort that you spend trying to see. My eyesight is more important than this.

Worst place to come for anything !!! Rudest employees and the dr is quick to get you out. He’s rude when asking questions during the exam no service what’s so ever here they act like they giving free things. We’re customers not prisnors !!!!!! Wish I could give it negative 👎 5 star.

The staff there is rude and they so t pay attention to your needs I told doctor Willard Williams I needed my prescription for glasses and contacts so he have gave me free paid to try on there and now I am trying to get contacts at a different location and I call them and they tell me I dont have a contact prescription for contacts so it doesnt make sense why would they give me a free pair of contacts there. there is no organization here really save money and go somewhere less expensive this place is not worth it nothing but trash people there that do not offer good service

Just had my eye exam and that was ok. Considering it was $49.95 compared to Loden Vision who wanted $300 for and exam, I would say I got what I paid for. Then went in to get glasses. Got me a millennial. First had to get her to take her feet out of the chair so I could sit down. Then she acts as if I am taking up her valuable time. I was asking questions about prices and that made her act even more irritated with me. The last straw was when I got the eye roll. I just told her to give me my prescription and I would go someplace else. Didnt seem to bother her one bit. She eagerly gave me my prescription and I was out of there. I may go back there for doctors appointment but will not go back for glasses

I made an appointment at this location today and if I could give them 0 stars I absolutely would. I was early for my appointment but even so I sat in the waiting area for an HOUR listening to the women working the desk disrespect every single customer they spoke to and talk to each other in front of them as if they were not there. I work in customer service and the customer service this joke of a place provides is embarrassing. After waiting an hour I was called in to see the doctor, then told one of the women up front did now know the correct preliminary exams to give me so I would need them. He took me out and told her I would need them and she said I would need to wait. The only saving grace of this place is that the doctor recommended I see an opthalmologist for my issue and I was so glad to tell them I would be taking my business elsewhere. If youve got an option, dont waste even one minute on this unprofessional dump heap of a place.

Visits are harmless, but they have little to no true appointment system. I have consistently had to wait up to half an hour after my appointment time.If youre going to use this Visionworks, make your appointments 15 minutes earlier or youll wait forever.

I made an appointment at 2:30 for an eye exam. At 3:30 I still had not even had the exam, much less any consultation regarding the results. After waiting an hour I asked the curly brown haired lady how much longer it would be as I had been waiting an hour and clearly saw someone with no appointment that arrived after me had already been seen. She responded We cant control how long the doctors take with plenty of attitude. Not sure why she made that plural as there was only one doctor there and he seemed pretty annoyed by anyone that was breathing. I left 10 minutes later. Not one ounce of an apology was offered from any employee whatsoever. As I was leaving I saw that the curly headed gal DID have time for the cigarette she was sucking down behind the building...Dont waste your time, they uncertainly have no consideration for it!!

This facility is one of the most unorganized and unprofessional establishments Ive ever visited. 98% of the staff is rude and act as if youre inconveniencing them if youve walked-in or if you have an appointment, because they are too busy conversing with each other, gossiping, eating, or on their phone. Even when appointments are scheduled, you still arent seen until almost half an hour your appointment time. They dont follow up with anything, they dont bother to notify you when youre contacts and/or glasses are in, and although they are sitting at their shop - if you dont call to check, youll never get them. They consistently lose paperwork, files, and information. Youd think that if you are one of the primary optometry practices in such a small city, youd have more respect for the consumers who do business with you, and get a more professional staff.
