10/07/2021 I stopped in to see if they had a hot bar or some soup. It was about 11:30am and no soup. So I purchased a huge pizza cheese bagel for $1.99 from the self serve display. The bagel came with complimentary cream cheese cup (located in refrigerated case next to bagel display). The bagel was absolutely delicious. Im sure it would be great warmed up. I tried to use the only restroom but it was closed. This store gets real busy so the small parking lot was very crowded.

I thought the store was OK. Some decent prepared foods and pretty much what Whole Foods carries. What Really bothered me was I am extremely interested in bringing my own bag so to not continue to add trash to landfills and I walked about a mile so it paper isn’t an option. The cashier rudely told me that you have to use their bags and told me to remove my bag from the bagging area. I have to be honest if this is a COVID thing they should be wiping down the area after each customer anyway so what is the big deal. Anyway made me feel embarrassed, like my bag looked dirty or something- back to Whole Foods for me!!

The products at Sonoma Market are excellent, and the staff is kind, helpful, and all-around wonderful. The store is clean, bright, and a pleasure to visit. Im so glad to have this market in our county!

Ive been going to this store for the last 20 years. I have to admit that by necessity, I usually get my day to day grocery shopping done at some of the other larger supermarkets however, when I want the best that money can buy this is my go to place to shop. Their meat, produce and fish departments are without compare in Sonoma. Oh and lets not forget cheese! I live on a limited income but sometimes you just have to have what you have to have.

Purchased special Valentine cupcakes at Bakery @$3 per cupcake for family. Unfortunately they were horrible. I mean throw away horrible. Cake was dry and frosty was bad taste. Expected delicious cake and buttercream frosting. Waste of $, but sad too b/c we love this market.

I love this place it has the best butcher counter I have ever found ! Awesome, friendly staff, high quality products and transparent practices. The only complaint I have is it gets a little crowded, and since we are in the middle of a pandemic they should really regulate the amount of people in the store at one time . But great grocery store overall.

Dont bother trying to heat up anything with their microwave! You would be better off letting it sit out in the sun to warm up! :/

I love this place, very quaint, but amazing offerings. The caesar salad dressing is my favorite dressing of all time, it has the right amount of garlic and makes every salad delicious. I wish I lived closer so I could have it all the time, but Sonoma Market is definitely worth the drive if youre in the area. They are also connected to Glenn Ellen Market which is where I go in case I dont want to make the long trip up to Sonoma Market.

I used to love going here for their healthy food options. Unfortunately they made a new “rule” that ESA dogs are not allowed, which to my knowledge is illegal. I don’t see how a service animal is allowed for physical disabilities but someone with a mental disability is not allowed the same respect. I will not be going here again and they were extremely rude suggesting an ESA dog is not essential and then threatening legal action when I argued my point. I do not blame the staff that had to relay the message but I blame the company as a whole for creating this blatantly discriminating rule.

Prices are a little high, but the quality and service makes up for it.

Convenient, close and very friendly staff. They always have fresh fruit and vegetables and numerous sales on fish and poultry. Ive gone here for over 10 years and have never been disappointed!

So many of my favorite foods are here. The Caesar salad at the salad bar. The salt and vinegar chicken wings on the hot bar. Lamb kabobs marinated with green peppers in the meat department as well as the octopus salad already packaged to go. Cowgirl goat cheese and Brie with olives in the middle. If you have questions about wine to go with any of these there is always someone available and ready to answer questions or offer recommendations. Finish your shopping in the bakery, so much yummy goodness. Prices are more here but you get what you pay for. Checkout is easy and there are always plenty of cashiers available and pleasant.

Wonderful old school hometown grocery store with everything and then some. Delictable array of cheeses, fantastic deli. 5 star hot food bar always serving full meals and always having turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy. Great meat and the best seafood in Sonoma County

Love you Sonoma Market & Village Market in Glen Ellen too! Plus now that Lisa is in the deli in Sonoma regularly instead of Glen Ellen theyve picked up the BEST server EVER! Period!

Actually, this is pretty much my hometown market. I shop there for the variety of fresh fruits and vegetables plus lots of local products. Say CHEESE! A great place to get a quick turkey dinner--no muss, no fuss at the hot bar. The staff is super friendly and so are the people who shop there.

This place has improved greatly since Nugget took over! The customers still ruin the experience though. Luckily I moved closer to the Vacaville Nugget, which is much more pleasant!

Im very impressed with the renovation and remodel of the store and is always a treat to stop by to get something quick on the go with her hot Buffet or theyre great selection of products they sell at the store. The stuff there are always friendly and helpful when needing assistance.

Local market with a good selection of organic produce, fresh meats and local wines. The dry aged beef is especially delicious. They also serve coffee/espresso, and can prepare party platters at their deli. As an extra plus, kids love the mini shopping carts.

Nugget owns Sonoma market. I do miss the old Sonoma Market but nugget is doing a pretty good job keeping it the way the locals liked it. Change does happen.

I have missed this store, as I moved away 8 yrs ago; it is a fantastic grocery, butcher shop and fresh food store. I am happy to say that it has even gotten better, since I last visited in 2011.

Fresh food. Thats fresh food. Food that you use as ingredients in a total meal. Though you can get prepackaged food there, and its pretty darn good, the main reason to come here is for fresh food. And to those who complain about the prices, understand that they sell fresh food which is more expensive than the crap Safeway passes off as food. If you want to eat well, if you want to feed your family good healthy tasteful food, then Sonoma Market is where you buy it.

Very happy with the great customer service, and the small hometown feel you get when shopping there. Even though the store can get quite busy and crowded at times, everyone is extremely helpful and attentive to the customers needs. Sonoma market has terrible customer service. Don’t even try calling to get questions answered. They will keep you on hold forever!!! The deli is completely unorganized and inconsiderate. TAMMY is the worst! She is absolutely rude and unprofessional. She acts like customers are an inconvenience. She should be fired!!! She literally argues with customers. If this store was in another town it would go out of business.

Wide selection food and wine. Has a phenomenal deli. Sort of like Nugget Market. In fact, Nugget takes it over starting June 1st, 2016 along with the Village Market in Glen Ellen which also indoor and outdoor seating for their deli.

New owners still trying to find their groove in the vacuum left by the previous owners and their eclectic staff.

Well.i had to switch clerks because the one I originally put my things down on to purchase wouldnt stop talking to the customer in front of me,I have an hour for lunch,the young fellow who did help me apologized for the babbling female clerk,I believe his name his name is Ernest. He was great!

We have been shopping at Sonoma Market for years, even though we dont live in the Sonoma area. We love the market, especially the seafood. Every Christmas we place a seafood order and we are never disappointed.Eddie and Frank have always been very professional but also very friendly to us.Today we took a ride to purchase crabs/clams for a family chippino dinner. We were assisted by two young men in the seafood department. We asked for 7 crab (cracked and cleaned) and 3 crab left whole. When we saw the size of the crab we asked for three more. When we looked further at the display of crab we noticed a few of the crabs had a great deal of missing legs/claws. And a few of the crab the young man took out of the case to weigh were missing both claws and a few legs on each. I asked if we could get crabs without missing legs. At that point the young man assisting us decided to educate me on how to order crab.He proceeded to tell me that large orders such as this should have been called in because it was unfair to other customers that we were taking so many crab and that if we would have called the order in we would have received premium crab instead of what was in the case. This was said in front of other customers.When we returned home with our purchase I noticed what he had done. The crab that we had cracked and cleaned were missing many claws and legs... Out of 9 crab there were only 9 claws. The whole crab had all legs/claws attached.We have been enjoying the food and service at Sonoma Market for over 20 years, have passed on your experience to family and friends who also take the drive to enjoy the market. Today was the first day we have ever been treated rudely and given a sub-par product.This young does not demonstrate the Sonoma Market customer service that is tradition. This service will not stop of from visiting your market but it will make us question who is servicing us in the future.

This is not Sonoma Market anymore, its Nugget. They have stopped carrying all the cool local yummies we are all so familiar with and supported with a full heart. The latest to go homegrown bagels- after 35 years they cut them off with 2 days notice. All I have to say to that is WTH Nugget? You are heading down the wrong road in Sonoma.

This place has some of the best sandwiches Ive ever had. they a thick, filled with a lot of great things. I had the Jack special and it is one of my new favorite sandwiches.

Pricey and oft-over hyped goods. Good for a quick stop for a dessert or bottle of wine that will be different than competitors across the street. Gelato is great on a hot day. Cant recommend the sandwiches.

The store has new owners for 2 years now and some things are better and some things are worse. The overall quality of their produce, imo, has declined. Yesterday, their was a major fruit fly infestation by the small bananas area that I never ever witnessed on produce in the prior 22 years. Their fish market selections quality wise have declined, with much more emphasis on farmed items... Not a big fan of farmed items. Bananas qual6zucks compared to the old days. Mushroom quality is terrible, overall compared to the old days. Staff remains very friendly. I rate this version with Nugget being the owners as a C, whereby the old owners I gave an A.

Best place to get food for a lunch picnic.

When Sonoma Market was independent I would give it a 5 ⭐️. Big with Nugget taking over, they have stripped all that made this grocery store what it was. The loss of selection of products, the sterilization of the aisles, the prices have increased and everything has moved. Sad to see such a great store be dismantled and turned into just another store.

Hi! Sonoma market & especially vineyard market both sucks now because of the purchase to nugget. So many different products I loved. Like cherry tree olives, home grown bagels & premade salads are gone just to name a few brands. Stop changing the dam store & the products that were sereved there before.

We are very lucky in the small town of Sonoma to have multiple supermarkets from which to choose: Safeway, Sonoma Market, and Whole foods.Safeway is, as always, convenient, clean, large, and well stocked with necessary items items of good quality and fair priceWhole Foods has its usual fine, albeit smaller, selection at slightly higher prices (some with special discounts for Prime members) - and very convenient Amazon Lockers.But if you want the best, freshest, irresistibly delicious produce, baked goods, cheeses, meats, fish, and wine, shop as I do a Sonoma Market.Parking is never a problem. Beautiful flowers (with longer vase-life than the others) greet you at the door.A marvelous wall of mostly local (I mean within 20 minutes local) organic vegetables is your first encounter proceeding counter-clockwise. Food choices are very appealing

Ok, I just returned from the Sonoma Market where I have shopped 3-4 times a week for many years. Today, my bill was $284.21. A lot of money right? When I go home, I tasted the ham that I had bought at the deli - 2 lbs. for a total of $26.11. The ham, to me, tasted close to not being good. In my life, I have ever returned anything like this, but this was expensive, so off I go back to Sonoma Market. The lady that checked me out, said take it back to the deli and theyll replace it. The guy beind the counter said there was nothing wrong with it, and as we are having this conversation, the deli manager came up and told me the same thing. I said I would just like you to open a new one and he refused. At that point, I said just give me my money back and Ill never shop here again. So they gave me my money, and on the way out I saw the manager and told him. All he said was did they give you your money back. I said yes, but what I really wanted was the ham. I buy it there weekly and we love it. Again, no relief. What kind of customer service does that? If I had a customer that just wanted me to open a fresh ham, I would!!!They have lost a customer that spent a ton of money there, and will make sure that I never recommend Sonoma Market again. I dont care how good your market is, if your customer service is horrible, that makes your market horrible. I can see from other reviews that Im not alone in my opinion.

If you guys wanna charge the prices of SFO or any airport actually, and expect me to keep shopping there, youre crazy. I swear to God I was at SFO couple months ago and the food was cheaper at the food court then youre damn markets prices. All good to excellent products, great Deli with not just commercial meat of quality but also in house cooked meat (turkey,roast beef & a 3rd)which is better as there are no preservatives etc & I think the turkey is free range, as well. But the best thing is that its freshly cooked daily,& they are pretty good about cleaning the slicer machine between different kinds of meat, so no cross- contamination. The store, in general, has high quality products, they have Clovers Organic Kefir,as well as other brands but in comparison I think Clovers is the best if you mix in particular their Perfect Blueberry, Pomegranate & Acai & lastly Mango, Passion Fruit & Pineapple together ....you get the most vitamins and minerals plus 10 probiotic cultures with that combination,&the fact that Clover Dairy is local so its fresh on arrival, whereas the other Kefirs have more travel time. The other thing that is important to me as a person who is always looking for best quality products & local where possible is their Organic Sour Cream selection, I think Nancys Cultured Organic Sour Cream which they dont have but they do carry Nancys Cultured Organic Cream Cheese so that makes no sense to me. Lastly, if youre looking for Organic Ice Cream,I think that the best is Double Rainbow,they only carry Vanilla which I got them to bring back because if you do a taste test of the Organic Ice Creams you will find that Double Rainbow has more substance to theirs over all the rest & its still local (originally made in San Francisco).The others get watery as they melt. I changed the minds of a number of customers & staff.
