Went to this shop 2 times over the summer while in Tahoe. And they were so friendly and helpful. Of course I found yarn I loved both times I was there. They have rotating trunk shows so there is always something new to see. But after I came home started a project and realized I didn’t math correctly. I contacted them and they made sure that the dye lot was the same and shipped it out right away. They are the best go here every chance you get

Knits & Knots is one of the greatest gems in our town. Aubrey is savvy in all things knitting and has a great eye for color. She has been a huge help to me in coordinating yarns for new patterns and always knows how to get me unstuck when I cant understand something. Highly recommend for experienced or beginning knitters alike!

This shop is a gem of this decade in Tahoe. The owner is lovely and knowledgeable - She helped me learn to knit as a beginner and continues to help direct me to anything I need for new projects. Beautiful family, beautiful place! Much appreciated!!

Cute little yarn shop sharing space in the back of a really cool gift and crafting shop. One stop shop for journaling knitters - nice selection of journals and pens in addition to other art supplies, as well as gift items, in the front room. Amazing selection of yarn, notions, and other knitting goodies in a small space. Yarn from local indie dyers is featured.

Minimal selection of yarns. Clerk was more interested in playing on her phone/laptop than helping/conversing with customers. Found the same yarn at another shop for less than half the price.

Knits & Knots is a great yarn store! It may be a small shop, but it has tons of character and a surprising amount of yarn. Aubrey is awesome and is happy to help out when shes there. She also dyes some wonderful yarn as well! Definitely worth a visit, or even an afternoon spent shopping & knitting. I drive up from Reno just to visit, and pick up some new yarn and notions. She has a nice selection, with yarn from local indie dyers to bigger brands. Be sure to check it out if your visiting South Lake!

How Fun!! So excited to find such a great local yarn shop near the amazing natural beauty of Lake Tahoe. Perfect location on the way to south lake tahoe and back. We stopped here after hiking the rubicon trail and Aubrey was so helpful! She is too modest! I was looking for locally dyed yarn for a special project. She showed me lots of options and it wasn’t until I asked where the StoryTeller yarn was dyed that she told me she was the dyer! lol Great selection and loved the cute tahoe items up front! Very pretty designs, paper and jewelry, by local artists. I hope to visit again! So jelly that I am missing the yarn crawl. There was lots of yarn I would love to spend more time looking through haha. Next time I’m definitely going to take home some Storybook yarn too! What a sweet mother/daughter team! Thanks for a lovely experience. Can’t wait to start knitting 😁
