This place is great. I had been told by Midas when I got my back brakes changed that my front brakes would need to be changed in 3-6 months. I went to Vip after 6 months and they said I’m good. I asked again as I didn’t want to be unsafe or be inconvenienced by having to come back in a month and they said that really I was fine. It’s been 4 months and all good so far. I appreciate the attention to details and honesty. This is my go to place! Thank you

I brought in my tire in on the rim with a slow leak. Brenden helped me and was very accommodating. He first asked me to drop it off and he would call me when it was fixed. When he took the tire from my trunk he told me he would just bring it right in and he would take care of it. He pulled the tire off, cleaned the tire and the rim, re mounted the tire and balanced it in minutes. It was a very positive experience and very reasonably priced. Being a small business owner I can say VIP is very lucky to have employees like Brenden who could have just gone through the motions but chose instead give great customer service. Very rare today. I recently brought my vehicle to VIP for the first time to have a state inspection done. When the employee and I walked to my vehicle to look at the mileage, he was going to see if I needed a multi-point inspection or a tire rotation, but when he saw the low miles on my vehicle (2020 vehicle + remote work = limited miles), he said it wasnt needed. I liked that he didnt try to push me into getting a service that I didnt need (one of my biggest complaints when going to a garage). The employee I worked with was very friendly, the waiting area was clean, and the service was completed quicker than I expected. And to my surprise, the inspection was free because it was Free State Inspection week. It was definitely a positive experience.

Car was giving a sketchy error message and we didn’t know what to do so we stopped here and the nice gentleman told us the car didn’t have any oil in it so he helped put some in. He was so nice and helpful especially because it was close to closing and we had no idea what we were looking at. Definitely recommend!!

I am very new to Maine and was very pleased to find VIP for my auto inspection. First off, I arrived for my appointment and they were ready to do the job. Then, I was offered a free alignment check for the tires and glad to have it as it was needed. And, they took care of the fuel system service and rotated the tires for free. All this time the waiting room was very comfortable. I will surely go back for all my future car inspections and oil changes. The staff at VIP was so courteous and customer oriented and this is particularly appreciated.

VIP auto in South Portland has proven to be a great service shop for my hyundai. I bought 4 tires there after wearing mine out from a bad alignment. VIP now rotates my tires and checks the alignment for free every time I come in for an oil change. The service is good and fairly priced.

The gentleman at VIP went above and beyond normal service standards when I came in to get my tires changed. They were fast, friendly and very accommodating to my schedule and budget. They made sure I had what I needed and didn’t pay for anything superfluous. After a thorough explanation of the services I was being charged for, they took 25 dollars off my total to donate to charity during the holidays!Based on my delightful experience, I decided to come back to get an oil change. Again, excellent service and great prices. Will definitely be a repeat customer.

I brought my car in to be inspected today (get sticker). I had (by far)the best experience Ive ever had since being a VIP customer. From the moment my interaction with the VIP employee began, it was nothing but positive. Customer service is very important to me, so this meant the world. My car was ready in no time at all and at that time same employee brought me to back to my car and explained things about my car to me. (another first). Best of all my car passed inspection! Based on this experience, Id recommend VIP to anyone.

I made an emergency stop at the South Portland store because my tire was rapidly going flat. Though I arrived at closing time and had no appointment, they took off the flat and put on my spare, all at no charge. I was very impressed.

Mike Napolitano was extremely helpful when our work truck got a nail in the tire, despite a busy schedule he was able to get ir right in and out within an hour, extremely satisfied and looking forward to serving work and personal vehicles with him in the future!

The guys here are so nice and flexible… I paid for an alignment from my car’s dealer and then a week later when I was getting new tires these guys caught a mistake the dealer had made! Saved me some trouble, and I would’ve never noticed it on my own. Will return for sure.

I was in an accident on my morning commute to work. I decided to have my car towed to VIP in South Portland. I was greeted by a friendly group of staff who all took the time to greet me. Charlie Sanborn checked in my vehicle and was able to communicate all my options and what would be most beneficial for me. Car troubles cause a great deal of anxiety for me as I know absolutely nothing about them or how to fix them. Charlie assured me that it would be taken care of and I didn’t need to stress.I felt confident that my vehicle was in good hands and my best interest was in mind. Charlie is a great member of team and my experience was easy and painless.

I have always brought my prius in for oil changes, new tires and inspections. They are quick, professional and reasonably priced. They are great at doing simple stuff but arent equipped to do more complicated issues that come up (i have a dashboard computer glitch they cant fix), but otherwise is my go to for the basics.

Very helpful staff- clearly identified an unknown issue and resolved it well. Would go back and recommend.

My first service visit was top notch! I called on a Saturday & was able to get an appointment for the next day - which was already a huge relief! I went in for my appointment to get the serpentine belt replaced & I was told that it would take about an hour or so but it was finished sooner (in 40 min)!! While I was waiting in the comfortable waiting area, JD came out & very kindly informed me of some other issues that were going on in my car - issues that previous recent mechanics should have addressed & did not - so it was not an upselling vibe at all. JD was polite, efficient and spot on with everything. VIP is definitely my new auto go-to!

When I took my car to VIP for an annual inspection, they not only got me in quickly but made sure to prepare me for all the details to come.When I checked on my car later that afternoon, they informed me there were unexpected major repairs that required Maintnance before they’d approve an inspection sticker.I was bummed like anyone would be, but the service representatives and garage managers were amazing! They explained how and why what needed to be done was required and did their best to help me save money.They were considerate and did not pressure me to do the work, but when I decided to move forward they made sure they had my car ready for me hours later. They were patient and considerate and I will certainly be back.

Ive been going to VIP Auto for years! These folks have always taken care of me and my Honda. From oil changes to snow tires to tune-ups, excellent service and decent prices and always, always helpful.

My inspection took slightly longer than expected - 45 minutes. For a not busy day, I was thinking more like 30 minutes. The waiting area was clean and comfortable, and I was offered coffee. I was very pleasantly surprised by a promotion where my inspection was free! I will definitely return for my oil change and perhaps other service.

VIP is close and convenient so we use them frequently. We had our truck serviced there today--inspection, oil change, tire rotation. Didnt pass the sticker due to front brakes JD was helpful in explaining the issue, saving/showing us worn parts, and keeping repair/servicecosts as low as possible. Thanks.

Consistently great experience over multiple visits with these guys. My wife and I have taken our aging vehicle here with various problems, both tire and general mechanic work and they have always delivered a fairly-priced solution. We have never had to take the car back for repairs that needed reassessing.They will always suggest other things that they found wrong when they were servicing the vehicle that you may want to get addressed, but they have never been pushy about this and can get you a rapid price estimate if it is something you would like to consider.

I ran over a screw and needed my tire patched. The crew at the south Portland location were very nice and able to get me in and out in a very timely manner with very fair pricing, definitely recommend.

I was having tire issues and called them on a Monday. JD helped me out and he was so patience with me and helped me thru out the whole way. Nice people and they all wore a mask and very helpful and knowledgeable.

A couple days ago I went for an inspection on one of our cars. Once again, I was met by JD at the front desk. I wanted to go middle of the road on this.I brought my vehicle in the first time for simply mounting and putting on my winter tires.My Emergency Brake was not working at this time and I expressed concerns to JD. I was told that the Emergency Brake would be looked at.When I picked up my vehicle, I was taken care of by JD. After what seemed was some controversy JD finally conceeded and made my appointment for the next week.When I dropped off my car, I was greeted by JD and he stated that for my car to be diagnosed it was 125$ per hour.I explained to JD that his Manager had looked at the brakes the week prior and the Emergency Brake was a very simplistic fix.JD doubted this. Stating his Manager did not know what he was talking about. I explained or rather insisted that I could only afford $200 . I was not going to pay $125 for them to tell me what I knew.Buyer beware. If you have a specific job...Tell them what it is you need to be done. Otherwise, it is $125 for VIP to tell you what the problem is and then $125 per hour plus parts for the service.I paid $138.58 to have the Emergency Brake repaired. Which I am certain would have been more had I not insisted the diagnostic/repair be included in the $125 fee.$106.32 was for mounting/balancing for my winter tires.My car “shakes” at highway speeds. I expressed this concern when I dropped off the car with JD this morning. I was told it would be corrected by JD. It was not. Now, I need to have my tires looked at as well.Just saying...Buyer beware.

I came in for an inspection on my van. They were courteous and helpful with the questions I had. While I was waiting they called me with an issue about why it wouldn’t pass They gave me the reasoning and different levels of cost on the item I needed which I really appreciated. When it was time to settle up I showed my military ID to utilize the discount they offer to military families, which again I truly appreciated. I had a great experience and I highly recommend this business.

I had a tire change and wheel alignment done today. VIP Tires and Service has one of the best customer service in the auto service business in Maine, if not the best. Hands down! They have incredible prices on their tires (buy 3, get 1 free) and the Manager was kind enough to offer me better quality tires, at the same price, since they did not have the ones I wanted. This level of customer service is rarely heard of - other shops would have turned me away or asked me to come back another day, but not VIP Tires and Service. They are also very transparent about the services needed to my vehicle without charging any extra, exorbitant fees, again, a trait unseen in the auto industry business. My family owns three cars and VIP will be my one-stop shop, going forward, for any auto needs.

VIP is the best when it comes to caring for my car. Dennis is so professional and all of the guys are so helpful! And they are honest, too!

I purchased four tires on line and made an appointment to have them installed on the web as well. I received a call from the store informing me that my preferred time was unavailable, but we were able to reschedule with out any difficulty. There was already a line when I arrived at 7:30, when they open. There was only one person to cover the counter and they were doing the very best they could. The tire installation went well, and they discovered a broken strut and were able to make that repair as well. It was overall a very good experience.
