I used to frequent La Placita when I used to live here years ago. I have moved back and was looking forward to some quick, good, homemade Latin food. To my dismay, this is absolutely NOT the same place that it used to be, now that there are new owners. The pork was dry and tasteless. The yuca was cold and undercooked. The black beans tasted like they came out of a can. The sweet plantains were not sweet, they were hard and undercooked. The theme here seems to be hard and undercooked unless you get the pork which is dry and way overcooked. Oh and the empanada was ok except that it was ice cold and it had probably a table spoon of ground beef...it looked big but it was pretty much just dough and air! I really dont know who they are paying to write their reviews unless they are just people that dont cook and dont know what the food is supposed to taste like! Never going back there again! Dont waste your money!

Perfect place for lunch. Cute bodega packed full of meat, veggies, canned food, etc. They are also a meat market. Food is fresh, staff is friendly.

Just recently moved here, and today was my first visit at La Plazita, very pleased, small place with everything for our hispanic community, loved it!!!!!

We went there to pick up dinner and we were not disappointed. Their portions are huge, for low prices. They have almost everything there. They served us right away and we got out in minutes.

Love this place

Not sure how they earned these reviews. The selection is no better than the other two Latino markets that are just down the road. The service just ignored us. The main difference was having to step over the bucket of dirty mop water to get through the aisle.Oh and one of the employees was right in front of the food counter sweeping dust everywhere. I cant trust this place.

The sign out front now says La Plazita. I was on a mission for some guava pastries. They had them. Bought lunch which was delicious and cheap and they had quenepas. I will definitely be back soon.
