I would give this business 10 stars if I could. Long story short I live in AR and paid another business to quote me fuel pump repair and timing components out the roof $5000 on my VW CC 4 motion. Then had my car towed to Import Car Services and they did the repair for less than $800 and car did not need what the other business quoted and had me back on the road in a day! I HIGHLY recommend any import service needed on your import car in Springfield or surrounding areas to Import Car Service. Don’t waste your time paying the other guys for a diagnostic test and give you false information. These guys are honest-hard working and knowledgeable when it comes to import cars.

By far the best service I’ve ever had, especially when it comes to automotive repair. Most mechanics will do anything they can to rip you off end make more money but not these guys. My husband and I are moving to Texas in two days and we had dropped off his car last week to have them check it out while we were out of town. His car was being weird and acting up in the same way it had a year ago but after clearing the codes, it ran just fine. When we had it dropped off, they fixed one other thing and were trying to figure out the other issue but couldn’t get the codes to come back up. We went in and picked it up today and immediately when my husband got in the car, it finally acted back up so they were able to look back at it and find the problem. I’m not sure if he is the owner but he’s the guy who always talked to us on the phone and was working in the front has the same car as my husband and immediately he told the mechanic to TAKE THE PART HE NEEDED TO REPLACE IN MY HUSBANDS CAR OUT OF HIS OWN PERSONAL CAR AND PUT IT IN MY HUSBANDS CAR!!!! Wouldn’t accept taking any money from us for the part or the labor. These guys here are absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond.

Replaced front differential. Took approximately four weeks to repair because they ordered another part after the differential came in. Took the vehicle home, complained it was making a noise like a flat tire. Returned the car two months later (had surgery in the interim) because I was worried the differential fluid was leaking. They charged me $69 to tell me the fluid leak was from the oil change technician at Jiffy Lube not putting the pan on and the noise coming from the wheels was from needing a new part that connects to the differential. After inquiring why they didn’t tell me the issue when replacing their response was “ you only told me you wanted a new front differential”. Subpar for a total job with rental car for one month costing nearly $4000.

Anyone driving an older German car knows it’s going to break. ICS is always there when I need them with great pricing and know how. They even had the car ready a couple days earlier than expected. A lot of places act like these cars are hard to work on and they’re a nuisance to justify charging you an arm and a leg but to ICS they seem like it’s just another day at the office and they’re happy to fix whatever you need. Only place I’ll ever take my bimmer.

These guys are the best mechanics i have ever experienced. We were in a tight spit while passing through Springfield and broke down the first shop didnt have time. Well ICS made time. They were great and get us informed through the entire process of getting my car fixed. Very professional and polite. Super clean office and restroom. I would recommend them to everyone in and around the Springfield area.

Took my car for repair was having my car overheating as well as power steering was leaking, I also asked if they would take a look at my air conditioner since it was not blowing cold air, this is when my nightmare begins, first I was told to drop it off and they will call me too let me know what they found which was fine, Dave called said yes you need this to fix the overheating and this to fix the power steering leak and this to fix the air conditioner, so of course I said okay great then it will be 1300 and something dollars, so I said okay cant do all that at once but go ahead and fix the overheating problem and air-conditioning wand I will bring it back next week for the power steering stuff, then I got a call saying well your air conditioner needs a electric fan but your over heating is fix and since this Friday before the 4th I wanted my car so I paid them around 855.00 and left went home thinking my car was somewhat fixed as far as the overheating issue one day later drove to my daughter house which was around 15 min . Away and then my car overheats again, so I barely made it to her house, so I had a great time with my famy and had them follow me back to the shop to drop off my car that same night since it was still over heating., I was told oh well now it will be another 600.00 to fix the same problem I just paid for a day or so ago., They treated me as if I did something wrong and was very unprofessional, when I asked questions they actually talked me me like Im some kind of idiot, and then some other issues happen to my car while in their Care, and they had the nerve to act as if I shouldnt ask about what happened to my car!!! I h then was told well we just wont fix it and come and get your car so long story short paid for a service repair that never happened. I will never take my car back there and would advise any woman to watch out, they will lie and cheat you out of your money and not repair your car! Beware!!

Mike and team were quick to get me in, helped source the brakes I wanted (aftermarket performance), and installed them. Brakes were fully bedded when I picked the car up and don’t squeal. Saved me $$$ over dealer price. Thanks Mike!!!

Everyone wants quality repairs at a fair price. At Import Car Service I found that and more. When one doesnt really know much about auto repair and mechanics, it is common to feel nervous, wondering if one is getting a fair diagnosis without unnecessary add-on. At Import Car Service I felt I found an honest shop that does good work. They also stand behind their work. These are the reasons I feel comfortable about calling Import Car Service my go-to repair shop for my Toyota Tacoma.

Very happy with the service and friendly staff. They got my vehicle in and out in a timely manner and fair price. Also, they reset a maintenance light that had come on from having the oil changed at a different location who forgot to reset said light. ICS reset the light for me at no charge.

Import Car Service has been the only mechanic for our BMW. The team balances a Competent and Knowledgeable Skill set With a fair price, all the while straddling that line of familiarity and professionalism that You are hard pressed to find at less authentic shops. They treat my wife with respect, which is Equally important to me.

Not only did I get a botched engine replacement, but they attempted to put me behind six others after my parts arrived, before I had to tell them that this wasnt right. I didnt get 10 miles down the road before I had to get it towed back. Another week and I finally got it back. This time I made it about 30 miles before my engine was smoking and raddling. Towed it back to the shop just to wait some more before getting get it back again. this time the engine like kame on and said that the thermostat needed to be replaced. Would you look at that... something that was working isnt. The shop refuses to back there warranty and the shop owner yelled at me over the phone to come pick my car up. This was after he told me that I would need to pay him almost $850 for the thermostat that would coast me $220 anywhere else. Rude, not punctual, overcharged, unreliable. These people will not fallow threw on the warranty if it might put them out. DO NOT TRUST THESES PEOPLE TO DO GOOD WORK.

Mike and his operation were great. I have a Jaguar and from out of town. He still got the suspension parts quickly and got me back on the road. Highly recommended! Cheers.

After purchasing my VW I was referred to Import Car Service. Living my childhood with a mechanic for a father, I am well accustomed to what quality work looks like. My experience from the time I walk in to the shop to when I walk out I never experience any disapproval. Mike is always open to discussing possible options for my car and even offers alternate repairs to save money if my cars reliability is not at stake. The main motive is not to make money at Import. In my personal experience, the main motive is to appease customers and to create an atmosphere absent of doubt and cheating. I will be going to Import for the foreseeable future and Import is the very first recommendation I give to anyone who asks. This is a great shop being run by great people.

OK have been going to these guys for a few years... Mike the main mechanic I have dealt with seems like a nice guy. Im just a little irritated because when I brought the car to find out what is wrong with it, he told me that he can only look at a certain amount of things. Which is understandable but I didnt feel like I was given the option to buy another hour of help. We got the impression that he was too busy for us especially when picking up the car to take home. He was saying the stereo/security system is draining our new battery. He suggested that we get a bigger battery & take it to carfi to have the stereo taken out because of the security system possibly interfering with the stereo removal. I called car fi and they said no that year/model (92 benz sel 500) of vehicle will not freeze up if we take the stereo out ourselves. So we got a new bigger battery while hesitant to uninstall this stereo ourselves. Car started up made it for one errand about a mile away and went back to sputtering and then died as soon as got home to park. So now we are looking for someone to tow & look at it again AND fix it. We were also given a breakdown of all the suspension repairs needed and these prices are not the cheaper estimates. It is also unclear how much labor is for EACH repair. We only see the total amount of labor costs for all of the repairs instead of a break down. Just feeling somewhat blown off. Why couldnt they just take the radio or security system out there and ask if we wanted any more diagnostics and or repairs done after the diagnostics. Anyway they are also helpful. No one is perfect. I just want to vent right now & I feel like writing it out instead of talking will be more effective. Thank you for your time!

I wouldnt consider this as an actual shop because they told me it was a certain part that needed to be replaced. Then, they realized it was another part. Oops!! What do you know....it wasnt that part either. It was ANOTHER part. After all that, they still couldnt replace my dashboard properly. Will NEVER take my vehicle here again. I paid over $550 when I couldve taken it somewhere else for a third of the price. Oh....and the fact that they had my vehicle for 2 weeks is insane!!! 0 stars!!!

Import Car Service is great! We are from FL and were in the area for vacation. Our BMW started acting up. (If you have ever been 1,000 miles away from home and your car is breaking down, you will understand...) We called Russ and he said bring it right over. Within the hour he had given us peace of mind by telling us extensively what was happening and how he would fix it. Thank goodness it was something that could wait till we got home. We could not be more thankful for how quick he looked at our car and the peace of mind he gave us with his experienced knowledge.

Mike and the guys are very knowledgeable and kind. They explain whats wrong and made it easy to understand. The prices were better then most other shops and you can tell Mike is passionate about his work.

I hsve brought my old BMW here 2-3 times with over the top customer service, always. I have dealt with 2-3 people and on all occasions its been great. I feel they are very honest, and thats hard to find in this business. Typically Id bring my car somewhere and oh instantly $1,000 worth of stuff needs fixed. These guys have been great. I sent my sister up there for some motor shifting issues and they fixed it without any issues. All quotes are accurate and I HIGHLY recommend them. This is a true customer review. In September, 2016, we took my car, a Toyota FJ Cruiser to Import Auto Service, because it was recommended by a friend/part owner of the company, to have new rotors and brakes installed. We were assured more than once, by two different individuals, that the parts they would use were as good as the parts Toyota used. The original brakes that came with the car, lasted nine years. We decided to go with them because they were cheaper than Toyota, and the parts were supposed to be just as good. In December, 2017, I noticed that the car, once I got over 60 miles an hour, would vibrate the steering wheel, and basically the whole car when I would go to brake. I thought I needed to have the tires balanced. I took the car to have the tires balanced and rotated, and they found that the rotors were bad. My husband went by Import Auto, and was told that they would check with the parts company, and would get back to him. They did not call back. My husband called again, left a message, and was not called back. He then went back again and talked to them, and he was told that the manufacturer of the parts only warranted them for 1 year. I also called once, and talked to an individual, and told him the problem, and he said the person I needed to talk to was home sick, but he would have him call me on Monday. This person told me that they did thousands of brake jobs, and they would make it good. No one called me. I then called again two weeks later, and was told the parts were only warranted for 1 year, and there was nothing they could do. I told them on the phone, that it did not make sense, that I paid $1000 for a job that lasted just barely over one year, and now was going to have go somewhere else, and spend at least another $1000 again, for the same job, that I was told the parts were as good as those Toyota used. I have to honestly say, I would never recommend them to do a job for anyone!

These guys are REALLY into foreign cats of just about any type. Full software capability and diagnostics. Kinda minimal in customer waiting area but I would rather have great service than free doughnuts.

Mike and the guys at Import Car Service provide the best service! I’ve always been apprehensive to go to a repair shop because I’ve had terrible experiences in the past with other shops. Here’s the thing, these guys actually LISTEN. And they don’t upsell on things that I didn’t need. And honestly, it was cheaper than I thought it was going to be. The bottom line is, no one is excited to get their car fixed but Import Car Service doesn’t compound the problem. They’re great guys and they’ve got your back. Cannot recommend enough!

Import Car Services is hands down the place to take both of my Subaru Foresters!!! Have yet to have a poor experience at the shop and all maintenance performed has been top notch and very cost effective compared to a dealer repair/service shop. If you have an Import or even an “american” vehicle, take it here for your repair and maintenance needs.

Been going here since January for any problem I might have. Russ is a very friendly man, and the technicians are great at what they do. Honest prices, no run arounds. They will tell you the price up front and fix what needs to be fixed and not break anything else in the process. A bit on the higher end of the price spectrum at 85 an hour for labour (I believe), but for the service and experience they all have there is worth it. I would recommend this shop for anything import.

This is my favorite auto repair shop. Being an independent person who doesn’t know enough about vehicle repair is tough, but ICS makes it effortless. The staff is friendly, remembers me (and my automotive needs), and provides fast, thorough service. I take my Ford Focus for maintenance here. From oil changes and beyond, this is the place to go. Very unhappy with the service recently. My son took his 2008 Chevrolet Malibu there for an oil change and get estimate on repair of Door actuators. It was difficult to understand the service writer over the phone but he wanted to charge me $259.00, I argued that this was out of line and asked him to explain. He quickly lowered the price to $178.77 which was still high for a visual diagnosis of the door actuators (nothing removed) an Oil change (synthetic), Oil filter and air filter. They used to be pretty fairly priced but have turned into a CLIP JOINT. Frank the owner works in the back that way he does not have to look people in the face when he shoves it in the rear.

These guys are experts in their field. Their expertise is rivaled only by their honesty, a rarity these days among mechanics. After receiving a horribly incorrect and egregiously expensive diagnosis from the place i bought my suv), I decided on ICS. Every step of the way, my expectations were exceeded. The staff epitomizes class. James, Mikey, and the rest of the team made my experience ideal.I highly recommend ICS and I just want to note that they are the only mechanics in Springfield who didnt speak condescendingly to my wife (women friendly). 5 out of 5.

A great shop tucked away behind some other businesses. Ive been driving and repairing German cars for years and never had any idea this shop was here. I was recently in a time crunch and didnt have the time to work on my 1993 M5. They diagnosed and fixed the problem very quickly and the price was very fair. They also have the equipment to work on my late model BMWs when the warranty runs out. Great and trustworthy shop that has been in the same location with the same owner for 30+ years... They must be doing something right!

Called to get my sons car repaired a month ago.Was told to bring it up . The tow company they used did not go out of Springfield. Took it up they gave us a price we said fix it . Give them a check for $1500.00My wife had to ask for a receipt. They were ask if it would be done by Christmas my wife was told not a problem. I did notice the check was cashed within hrs. I went by 3 weeks after found the car had not been touched and it was setting in the lot unlocked.The Owner said the tech was going to call . To date we have never gotten a call from anyone at the shop .The owner said they had problem ordering parts .I told them who to call in California to get them .If I have to chase parts and order then I think you need to refund my money for doing your you.My wife went by two weeks ago and they gave her the run around and told her I was they were waiting on me to get parts . ( Funny what my body cam cought. )Its now been a month and no one has called us on the car nor is it done like the service writer told us it would be. Do not take your car there for serviceI will edit as soon as we here back from out attorneyOn the pending law suit !

Needed a stud and lug nut replaced because Sams club crossed threaded it. Sams recommended this place. I wanted them to use Honda parts so that it fit right. I was told three different times they would and was told that Honda delivered the parts on the day of repair. I called Honda and was told by the part delivery person that they did not deliver a stud or lug nut to the shop. I see responses to these reviews stating that reviewers were not in their database. Well I can tell you they never once took down my name or number when making the appointment so I doubt they have me in their database. My wife dropped it off and picked it up and I told her it should not be over $100, they told her $217, she questioned it and then they told her $100. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! RUN AWAY!!!!!!!

The A/c compressor fell off my on my 2003 VW passat, broken bracket and bolts stuck in the engine block. They were very upfront and honest and constantly kept me updated on what was going on. I had a fear of taking my car to a shop as I am a major do it yourself guy. Id absolutely take any car to them again!

Took my car here in November 2014 for a new clutch. had shifting issues a couple months later,took it in and they said they didnt know what problem I was having but saw nothing. now as of yesterday my transmission is some kind of dead and its least than 1000 miles past warranty so they want lots of money. Wouldnt even tell me what the problem is.

ICS has worked on our Volvos for a number of years when the need arises. They are thorough, honest and reasonably priced. I highly recommend ICS for your import car needs.

If I could give zero starsi would ...First of all I brought my 2003 BMW.. from another shop because they are import repair shop ...well the car got some water in floor boards ....they told me I needed a alternater and battery for which they charged 880.00.....fixed nothing ..I didnt even need thoughs parts it turns out...then charged me another 200 and did nothing ..but look around so this shop charged me 1080..dollars and fixed nothing car not working ...they told me for 600 more replace 2 computers ..which also didnt need replacing ...I decided they had no clue ..just ripped me off ...with a smile ...I took the car home and on his pitiful advice to dump the car I hauled it back ..and I co worker bought it for 1000....I paid 5000..a year ago ....co worker just googled a few things found a wet fuse panel under passenger seat ...replaced for 40 dollars ....car runs great ....import repair just cost me 5000 .dollars on car, then charged me 1080..more a didnt fix anything ...charged for parts I never needed....they should refund my money.Ive never heard of a shop charge so much and give a car back ....still broke down ....and co worker is backyard machanic fixed in 3 days for 40 dollars tell how this is possible ...do not take your car there ..they stole my money ..gave horrible advice cost me 6000 dollars in effect ...and never offered me any of my money back ...this place is horrible ....do not go there!!!.my name is Mr..Colona if you wanna refund my money for doing nothing to help!!!!!!

Russ and the crew at ISC are so good, and so honest, I cannot tell you! I bought an older VW Beetle 1.8 turbo seven months ago....( it had major problems within the first week, so I took it to ISC for diagnoses.... they have been fair, and I have poured $$$$$ to get it up and going so I can trust it.)If you are a woman, and are worried about finding an honest shop for your import, this is it.

The work is good, the service is there but the prices and the billing quotes are outrageous man hours. For the level of professionalism they propose they severely lack timeliness.

Good friendly staff. Might seem know it all at times but theyre honest and informative.
