This has been the 3rd TW Perry location I have been. TW Perry is now my go to store for certain items. However, this last visit to the Springfield location wasnt as easy as the others. Due to incorrect signage, I purchased the wrong molding. Its a good thing that the lumber yard had a quick access door to the sales center. The corrective action was simple and easy.
A bit intimidating for a weekend project guy like me since its the go-to place for contractors, and that yard is busy! Fortunately the yard workers are super helpful, especially for first-timers. Tons of lumber and other selections available, and the front desk folks are super helpful. A little more expensive than the Depot, but the quality more than makes up for it.
Worst customer service possible. I been buying form Perry and Smoot Lumber for more than 20 years but lately, since they became one company, service at yard is REALLY bad after 3:30 pm. I was there today around 4 pm, paid more than $500 and guy at yard was only making excuses to get material, even though my helper and me offered to help him. REALLY A BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
Just left TW Perry and had a horrible experience. Stihl representative was very rude. I greeted him twice and he ignored me.Finally when I walked up to the counter. He’s pretending to fumble with papers and told me that he was busy. I walked out but they need better training on customer service. Felt very disrespected
We have visited TW TW Perry to secure materials for several projects and have mixed thoughts about our experiences with TW Perry.Background:1. We have an event production company and build scenic pieces and furniture for social and corporate events.2. We are professional workers with theatrical, stage and film unions.Pro: Supply and quality of the wood products is often very good.Cons: Inconsistency in employees. Mary was competent. Others not as much, including 1 employee who wanted to charge us for 20 post wraps for 8 posts. Our commercial rate was occasionally more than the rate of Home Depot, 84 Lumber, and or Lowes.Military discount?? Less than $1 off the cost of a $41 item.Do we purchase from here often? No, as their location, hours and prices are not often worth the effort. We tend to go visit when we have a large build or trouble finding a product closer to our shop.
Good place for contractors to get materials
High prices bad set up for new costumers loaders even worse very rude I will never return here to bad I’m a general contractor so no more business for you guys
UPDATE: I raised to 3-stars because they their manager refunded me for the boards not delivered, sold me the longer ones (I still had to pay for the difference), and waived the delivery fee. Still disappointed, but they at least got me boards I could use for my project.=================Horrible first experience ... I first contacted them in Springfield to see from which location I should order. No one answered the phone, but they offered a text response, so I texted my question, and they wrote back to order from Leesburg (see picture). So I went online and ordered from Leesburg, agreed to $50 delivery fee, and submitted the order .... and then nothing happened. No confirmation, no email, and in fact it never took any credit card information. So I called the Leesburg office ... and was then told that I should be ordering from the Springfield office, and to not order online because it never works. The person did take my order over the phone, however, and checked inventory in Springfield ... everything was in stock, and it would be sent as soon as possible, which was in two days. However, delivery from there is $100, for reasons they couldnt explain. I reluctantly agreed, and let my contractor know to come the day after. Two days went by, and along comes the delivery, minus the most important boards (2x10x16s). The driver gave me a dispatch copy of the invoice, and it shows that all were there (checked by pen - see picture), but he said that they didnt load the 2x10x16s on the truck, and it wasnt his fault.I then called TW Perry back, and they said that that board is back-ordered, and it would not be in for 4-6 WEEKS, but the manager (Dave McAndrew) would be happy to send 2x10x18s as long as I would pay the price difference! And, of course, they wouldnt come until God knows when. Now I need to cancel my contractor, and have no idea when I will ever get my wood. They have charged my credit card already, so I am out the cash, as well as the delivery fee, and I cannot do anything with the wood they did deliver until the main pieces are delivered. They have this in stock at other locations, but since I am not a contractor, they dont give a s*** about me.I will never do business with them again, and will instruct my contractor to buy wood elsewhere in the future.
Even with national/global supply chain issues, the boys and girls keep me outfitted to solve my customers problems.
Lack of interest and professionalism from the sale rep.I asked for an estimate for 51 doors. All good at beginning. I was told by the sell rep, Mary that she will submit the request to the manufacturer. After a week Ive contacted her again. I received it...is in my email...Ill send it to you tomorrow. Two days later I contacted her again.. Youll have it in few hours. Three more days later :Right away, ...some bs with her comp. Three hours later I decided to give up!
Great selection of crown molding and other trim, helpful and courteous staff! We got some really nice crown molding for our living room and had it delivered, I would definitely buy from them again!
Great place. Friendly staff.
Excellent customer service.
Great people everyone there has a great attitude. Thank you Laura for all the help
Great service and knowledgeable staff.
They are short staffed and staff is unable to be helpful as they are not trained in the products that they are selling well enough to provide accurate information. So far a small railing system has taken me two trips to the store, a call to cooperate, a call to the regional sales person, about 30 minutes on the phone to the store and a lot of aggravation.
This place is great. They recently remodeled their showroom and have a much larger supply of typical hardware needs than before. Their lumber yard is great and stock much better lumber than your typical big box store. I love the fact that I pay for what I need then drive into the lumber yard and load it directly into my truck. The staff is much more knowledgeable than the majority of big box store workers. On a personal note I am a homeowner and try to do the majority of my shopping for construction and projects at this place. Their prices are equivalent or cheaper than the local big box lumber yard. The only down side is they close earlier than the big box store, but they are now open on Saturday which can is great for homeowners. They have an amazing military discount for active duty personnel; something that I really appreciate. Besides this, when you buy lumber in bulk for projects (like a fence) they usually give a general discount beyond their posted prices. In all I love this store and try to get all my neighbors there. I am fed up with the local big box stores. This is a smaller place but they staff and quality of material far exceed anything you will get elsewhere.
Great place to buy building materials, there is help everywhere
Take wayyyyyyyyyy to long to deliver always delivers at the end of the day at like 3:30
A nightmare buying Andersen windows from these guys. Sizes wrong, mull kits missing/wrong, cranks mis-matched. Takes months to get replacements, and then they are wrong again. Sweep on a custom door was damaged. Waited 8 weeks for a replacement and they sent perimeter insulation instead of a new sweep. Still waiting. Now over 3 months. Ordered replacement cranks for awning windows. Waited over 2 months. They arrived today - wrong item. Rachel NEVER answers her phone. Mailbox is always full. We spent over $120,000 on windows and doors for our new construction house and received absolutely horrible service. Oh if I could only do it over - I’d go with Pella for sure.
I cant believe I have the same bad experience with this guyI dont know why they keep this man since he has bad attitude and rudeness. I should not trust this guy when he advice me to buy this chain saw....For second time to use this chain saw when I start it the chain jump out and scratch my leg .. I fond out the two nuts hold the chain is one, and loose also .,,You can open it with your hand easily...when I take it back this location to Mr. Arnold “rude guy” explain the situation and how that happenedhe keep denying the whole store …I just jump to the resolution about the chain saw he said “this is your mistake nothing we can do “I try to convince him that it is one month and I used it once for 20 minutes but no chance…I have to wait to talk to his supervisor and when she come after 30 minuets and with out asking me she said ‘’ nothing we can do with this chain saw‘’ and I ask her if she can listen my side of store and she said okFirst :- about missing nut and loose the second oneSecond:- has no box or ManualThird :-I have a feeling this chain saw is refurbish or return because I saw inside of the saw black dirt and one bolt is missing … And she offer me they will change the part and fix the chain saw but I have to pay to Mr. rude guy 75 dollars per hour and it may take two or three hours and I have to come back after two weeks ……So, guy’s what do you advice me after I spend 437 dollars for model 251 sthil chain saw Now I have nothing. so, to finish my project I have to go home depot to rent chain sawThis is my bad experience …. I will never go to this location again but by doing that it cost me 5 miles more to drive home depot.
All most good everything
All good, fast and easy... friendly service!
I shop here for the convenient location and good selection of lumber. If there were another option close by, Id go elsewhere. Arnold the Stihl guy is rude and not reliable. Several times I caught him in a lie or making up an answer when I asked questions about the products. Most of the counter salesmen act as if theyd rather be somewhere else. Its nice to have real lumber yard with some tools and other hardware. Prices are fair. Unfortunately the overall experience there is poor.
Great place to get the lumber you need. I bought cedar fence posts of a really good quality for a moderate price. They also have tools, plumbing, paints, varnishes and a lot more
You can find the wood you need
I went in with plans to build a play house for my kids and they were so helpful! The customer service was awesome! They sat with me and helped me figure out every detail. I have never had that kind of service at Lowes or Home Depot. The wood was nicer than what I usually find at those stores as well!
Impossible to get a quote to make a purchase -- sales reps are incredibly unresponsive.
Better than homedepot.
Excellent service with helpful and attentive staff. Dont often see this in a lumberyard! Will return as selection is better than H-D and L....S
Im just starting wood working projects around the house and am really glad i found this place. They have quality wood projects, tremendous selections and were pretty helpful. The price of the lumber I bought was agreeable - you wont even find it at Lowes or HD so even a bit higher who cares because they have it.
Guys with forklift are so rude they yelled at me not a good service
Excellent costumer services.
Excellent service and pricing. Ashley Bowley is especially great--organized, responsive and very helpful.
Really bad service, nor recommend. Thieves
I was lucky to find a piece of chair railing . The vendor where I got it from 30 years ago . Had discontinued TW Perry had the right match ☝️
Ive been in construction my whole life. I used TW Perry more than 20 years. No more! Rude desk clerks all new people and inflated prices. Mr. Dorn is the only good guy left! Smoot is much cheaper and better personel. Never again!
Very helpful staff, and great variety of quality wood.
A true lumber yard packed with products the use.
They gave me the wrong trim board.
Super Difficult to work with Jay Moore made 3 trips there with everything he asked and still wouldn’t help sent 2 emails never got an answer, I guess they don’t want to help someone with a small project.
BAD SERVICE, DO NOT USE THEM FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS
Local building supply store that office personalized service, and has better prices then the big box competitors.
Had what I needed and got it picked up fast. Will be visiting again soon.
Very helpful warehouse and lumber associates at this location.
Always a bad experience, i try to avoid as much as possible
Awful. They didnt have copies of their own sales circular in the store. Counter staff were doing something on their computers, but there werent any customers around. I told the guy at the counter I wanted the mulch special in the circular and he had no idea what I was talking about. I walked out. Its a small store at the end of a dead end road in an industrial park. Not worth the trip, stick with Lowes or Home Depot.
Great material great customer service deliveries always on time and the driver elbert is very helpful
Great Company with many useful contraction and construction items in stock.
Great place for home improvement.
Jimbo, thanks. Great service very helpful.
Fast service, knowledgeable peoples,

The sales person is very unhelpful, rude his name is Ecaden. We try to open a new account and we ask what kind of discount we will get. He was with really bad attitude. They do not help at all. Typical store the more you pay the better, they are not accessible to open new accounts, they give you answers in a bad way. Mr. Ecaden is a rude man with a very bad attitude
Well attended
