Best Bagels in Central PA. Its like being back in NJ

I really like this little cafe! Their bagels and breakfast sandwiches are delicious. Coffee is ok; dont expect an amazing cup of coffee. But, if youre going to a place called Bagel Crust, youre coming for the bagels. I also dig the vibe, being in an old bank. Would recommend!

Literally the best place ever👌🔥 5 stars all the way, even more if that was possible. I’m being completely honest when I say this is my favorite place to eat - breakfast and lunch! And not only is the food great, but the atmosphere is so peaceful, and the workers are super friendly😁

This bagel shop (on Westerly Parkway) used to be great, but over the last year consistently messes up my order. For instance, I just paid for a bagel with a specialty cream cheese and received plain cream cheese instead. This happens frequently. They also put hardly any cream cheese on the bagel. I started asking for extra cream cheese to compensate and they put slices of cheese on top of the cream cheese! I love bagels and really want to support this business, but after giving them the benefit of the doubt for a year, I don’t think I will be returning.

I frequent this Bagel Crust often, it’s probably my favorite. However, recently, my orders have consistently been incorrect. I asked for a plain bagel with turkey bacon and cheese, no egg. My bagel ended up having egg on it which the cheese had melted into. I went back in and asked for it with no egg a second time. The gentleman working took my bagel to the back and just pulled the egg off. He ripped almost all the cheese off and there was still egg inside when I got it back. I expected it to be remade so there wasn’t any egg considering I asked and paid for no egg. It was not busy when I went in, either, otherwise I’d understand a small mistake.

The employees are super nice and efficient. The sandwiches are to DIE for. Seriously, Im ruined. I can never buy breakfast again because my hometown makes it way better. Great job guys!

Excellent bagels, by far the best Ive had in State College. Really nothing else here even compares, but rest assured these scratch the itch for real bagels.Good variety of sandwich options as well.

A local breakfast staple. The atmosphere is adorable, the people are kind and helpful, and the food is incredible. Get a breakfast sandwich on an Asiago bagel and thank me later. Smoothies and coffee creations are also delicious here. Not a ton of indoor seating but there’s almost always just enough, with outdoor seating when the weather is nice enough. A little pricier than other places, but that’s to be expected from a small family-owned business - and you definitely get the taste you pay for!

Been there a couple times now. I give them an average rating for two reasons. The first is that I recall both times feeling like the quality of the fare wasnt quite up to a Panera or a Pump Station. That made my rating low. The second is that there is so much potential here if only the preparers would take a tad more thought over what they do. Thus, hope (which springs eternal) makes my rating higher.Hot things should be hot and cold things cold. If you ask for a simple toasted bagel with an average spread of cream cheese, be sure to say to the person who takes your order that toasted means you slice the bagel first and then caramelize both the insides making them crisp. Toasted does not mean browning just the outside of the bagel and then slicing it, further chilling it with a too large ice cream scoop equivalence of refrigerated cream cheese. (Ugh)There is more I could suggest. But lets leave it at that and see if things improve. I intend to be a regular customer and so do wish for this quaint little operation to succeed!

Good service - nice guy helped me out. I asked for recommendations and he was very helpful. I went right as they opened and place was empty. He gave me a cold brew with almond milk and a little sugar. Yummy!

Often missing items from their orders. When confronted with any issues the response is often conceited or demeaning. As welcoming as a thorn encrusted handshake

The bagels are very flavorful and fresh. Also they have a great variety as well as they make their own cream cheese spreads. Also great breakfast and lunch bagel sandwiches. Only gave it 4 stars because it is pricier than other places. So if you dont mind spending a little more this family owned cafe is your place for a great bagel. Also it has inside seating.

Worst customer service experience I have had in PA. Front counter female employee has an extreme attitude and when an order was messed up, she told us it was our fault for confirming it (she didn’t). She also would not let us throw out the incorrect order inside. Just disappointing and upsetting.

I go here often and Ive never had a bad experience. The food is great and the staff is friendly, polite and efficient. The only con is sometimes the line is long because so many people go at once. (Happens to every restaurant when they donangood job.) However, even if there is a line they do a great job of getting your order out quickly! I always recommend bagel crust to my friends and when people ask me about breakfast spots.

Best breakfast place in State College in terms of atmosphere and presentation that Ive come across. As an NJ Native, was blown away they have Taylor Ham (pork roll). Will definitely be back!

A great way to start your morning. Never too busy and food is ready fairly quick. I love to come here on the weekends. One of the best bacon, egg, and cheese sandwiches in State College.

Fantastic food. The bagels are hard on the outside while being succulent on the inside! Sometimes they have special stock. Like, chocolate strawberry hearts for Valentines Day, blue and white for PSU weekends, and pastel rainbow bagels intermittently through the year! (Ive been to the place in Brooklyn everyone raves about with the rainbow bagels, these are better). My favorite sandwich is the steak, egg, and cheese

So close but missed the mark. The jalapeño cream cheese had diced pickled jalapeños in it instead of fresh peppers puréed into the spread. I’m just not looking for vinegar flavor or crunchy bits in my cream cheese. Bagels are always delicious though and they are worth giving another shot! The bacon was cooked to perfection 😍.

Bagel Crust (any location) is by far the best bagel place in town. Having moved from NY, Bagel Crust is the only place that satisfies my craving for a fresh, chewy, perfect bagel. Ive tried going elsewhere to get an everything bagel with cream cheese, lox, tomato and onion and it pales in comparison. Stick to Bagel Crust.

Delicious! I had a bagel with lox and cream cheese and it was perfect. The bagel was fluffy inside with a perfectly golden exterior and a generous portion of salmon and cream cheese. Will definitely be back!

Quick and quaint. This location gets the food right without wasting your time. Limited seating for those who want to eat in. But never a rushed atmosphere.

Lox bagel was very good. Nice coffee shop atmosphere. A little pricey, I would walk into Weis for a quick cheap bite, but you get what you pay for.

The food is so good I just wish the service could compare. Today I watched an employee get halfway through making my drink, then stopped and made his own. Every time I go in something is wrong, missing, or takes way too long. There’s no where else with bagel that even compare though so I go back

My first bagel sandwich was delicious and I look forward to going back. It was too crowded with a surprisingly student crowd for such a suburban location. The service was slow but pleasant. To be fair, It was weekend prime time for brunch.

Best bagels in State College. Best decaf Americano ever ... a toasty, caramel edge that is unmatched. Service is always fast and polite. The restaurant and bathroom has always been clean, so far!

Pretty good food, possibly a little understaffed? Had to wait for coffee to brew which is not a big deal unless youre in a hurry. The atmosphere is worth sitting down for though.

The food is great but the service isn’t. Every time I call to make an order their phone is off the hook. I understand a restaurant can get busy but you should always answer the phone in the service industry. Just a heads up you might as well walk in and wait because calling ahead is useless.

Ambience reminds me of Colorado Springs area.

Absolutley awful!!! Messed up an order that is on a printed paper. Received a call back that the order would go back out. I have waited over an hour and a half. I called Bagel crust and they said it is still sitting there. I spoke to the owner Al, he didnt allow me to finish speaking, interjected, I was almost done explaining what happened and he continued to speak over me and hung up on me twice!!! I will be contacting the BBB. I am a business owner myself and you always allow the person to finish speaking then you say your part. Thats why we have 2 ears and one mouth. To listen twice as much as we speak.

Honestly the worst service everytime I go there. Great tasting sandwiches, but I watched someone talk on their cellphone with gloves on, then immediately make my sandwich with the same gloves. Clearly wasnt paying attention either since I asked for no cheese and got two slices of American melted on both sides....

When the food is right, I would enjoy coming here. However, the service is always slow, and my food is usually incorrect on the first try. I literally order an egg and cheese bagel with avocado. How in the world does meat end up on that?

Home fries are tepid potato salad heated up in a pan. Sandwich came without the advertised coleslaw, oh yeah, were out of that. At least the bagel was decent.
