Bought some plywood for my side wall in Pine cone lumber. They are one of the few lumber place that carry 8 ft tall ply wood in the area. The staff were very helpful and professional. Will go back if I need lumbers for my future project.
The sales team was really helpful in explaining to a layman homeowner what the options were with wood varieties and value vs cost. They also helped to make sure I had all the odds and ends to fully complete the project. They also helped with color samples to make the final decision and they do at home delivery, with 1-2 days notice.
Try to find some good wood siding for the facade of a new house and had no much experience. Glad we went this shop accidentally and got so many help from beginning to the end. All the staff we asked questions seem very happy to help and always patient. A person nicely introduce us all the different option, so that we know cedar/Redwood/ A-rated redwood/Fir/Pine etc. Another salesperson teach us the difference of the interface and how to calculate. All this make the purchase process so easy. Special thanks to Joshua who help us patiently find the pieces we want! Really feel the great spirit of this shop! 5 stars!
For 48 yrs it has been the go to place for all my building needs and have sent many of my clients there, the staff is very knowledgeable from the front desk to the help in the yard and prices are reasonable and material is outstanding. You will not be disappointed.
We are building a small fence for our front yard. They had a decent selection of cedar and redwood in various grades. The nicest part was the the customer service was great during both visits even though our order was small.
I am a newbie into woodworking, and this was my first visit, but Tom Martinez, one of the salesman, helped me a lot. I gave him the picture of what I tried to build, he explained everything to me perfectly. He even went out of his way to walk me to take a look at the woods. He also gave me advices on how to build it too! What a great guy!
I shop at Home Depot for many projects because they are open on weekends. Their lumber stock is pretty poor for anything other than basics. I needed some nice Redwood for a project and HD just didnt cut it (haha). I was totally blown away by Pine Cones wonderful and extensive stock of RW, Cedar, Pine, and hardwoods. What a difference! While I was looking, one of their people asked if I needed any help, showed me where the material was and offered to cut it if they didnt have exactly what I wanted. It is a professional place so you need to be prepared to go tell them what you want and then (due to covid) they pull it and deliver to your car.Price is 10 to 20% more than HD, but more than worth it.Highly recommend.
Im a novice hobbyist and gave them a call for help with my first woodworking project. The lady who answered was cheerful, helpful, and lovely to speak with. When I arrived, Robbie helped me understand what sort of wood I needed for my beginner project and helped me pick out all the pieces Id need. He was incredibly patient and educated me on a lot about lumber. I really appreciated him spending all that time on me despite my project being less than $50!
Good store, a little busy on Fridays.
Great place. Always treated with respect. Ive been going to pine cone for many years like the place.
Great service literally Freddie Robles will take your hand and show around 👍
Found the lumber that no one else had. Quick efficient service. Wish they were closed to south county.
Best place for lumber in the South Bay and Peninsula by far. Huge selection and all good quality. Unlike the big box stores I dont need to dig through a rack of boards to find ones that arent split or warped. I can pick the ones on top and go. Reasonable prices too.
They have all kinds of construction stuff The Simpson hardware selection is unbeatable, huge beams ready to pick up stuff you have to order from other places these guys have in stock
One of the last great lumber yards in the Bay Area. 12 acres of lumber and tools of the finest qualities. They have the finest grade trim lumber to large timber beams, Pine Cone usually has it all in stock. Many long-time employees who are very knowledgeable about all products that carry in the store.
Elvis hes one of the best salesperson in the place. Very professional.Everybody in the entire store provides the best.
Very well organized and efficient. Friendly staff and well stocked. Competitive prices and quality materials. Dying breed of lumber store excellence.
Very good lumber best so far compared to economy and home depots. its straight and good looking. Economies is good too but sometimes you do get some not so straight ones Although prices do vary and pinecones is by far the most expensive.

Geared towards construction trades, with good service and wide selection of construction supplies & tools. Good quality lumber.
They are not good at scheduling at all. They never delivered on time and never say sorry for the delay.
Great place to get backyard project materials. They have lots on hand and friendly, competent workers.
Great lumber yard. My go to place for lumber and hardware. Their prices beat HDs on many items.
Service excellent, people are friendly. Five stars
BEWARE. Horrible, rude and unfair. Picked up 3 pcs of lumber and returned them as is within 1 day (too thick). Charged 15% restocking fee for no reason whatsoever. Was going to spend a lot more with them, not any more.
The best in the bayarea.
Let me start with saying all of the salesmen and people who work at the front desk were very nice and helpful. A number of people were always ready to help and asking to make sure every costumer was attended to. I came in looking to get some plywood cut to make a shelf, and was helped with a wonderful and knowledgeable employee named Ivan. He gave me some advice and I gave him my full cut drawing laid out form CAD. They did the job in a few hours and I came, picked it up and then went home. So far a 5/5 experience, but this is when things start to go downhill. When I got back, I realized that of my 5 pieces, they cut two off by exactly an inch. I phoned back, and Ivan said he was very sorry and that I could come back in and get them fixed. I made the 30 minute (now 40+ minutes with traffic) drive back. They redid the cuts and managed to get it right this time. I went inside, and asked if I could get some sort of rebate or store credit for wasting my time and gas. The employee asks the manager, and comes back and says no they cannot do anything for me.I then ask to talk the manager, Jack Dolan. In hindsight, it was probably a mistake. I have never in my life had a worse costumer service experience. It was bad enough that I finally made my first business review share it. Upon entering he flat out said no, but didnt leave it at that. He told me that it was absurd that I would go around blaming people for mistakes, and said that at some point when I grow up and got a job that I would make a mistake and want some sympathy. I am 25. He then mentioned a number of time that they are not Home Depot for some reason, and that he won’t just “flop over” for me. Who knew that Home Depot is corresponds to treating your costumers with basic respect. After more insults, and making rude comments about me being young, he finally asks me what they did wrong, so I tell him. He scoffs at me part way through, and says if I expected furniture quality milling then I should have gone elsewhere. It was not like I was being picky about an 1/8, it was a whole inch, which is bad enough to mess up any wood working project. He then asks what I want, and I tell him just 20$ to cover my gas and time fussing around with this mess. Of course he feels like that is outrageous and acts as though I am trying to extort them. 20$ on a 180$ total bill. He then says that if I am not happy, then I can bring everything back he will give me a full refund, knowing that I don’t have all of the boards and I will have to take another trip to see him if I want my money. On top of that he was willing to waste the lumber and work, and thus his money just to prove a point. He told me that was his only offer and that if I didnt like it then I would have to seek a lawyer to file litigation, unless of course I plan to grow up to be a lawyer. He then tells me they are closed and walks out of the office leaving me there. After sitting there for a minute, I realized he was not coming back and I left and headed towards the door. There Jack is, waiting for me with a big grin on his face propping open the door. I walked out.I have never met a ruder, disrespectful person in my life. Instead of just apologizing for the mistake, and if they really couldnt afford it just telling me so and that he was sorry, he berated me and treated me like a child for 20 minutes. For this, I give Pine Cone lumber 1/5 for being the singularly worse costumer experience of my life.If I could give a separate rating for the other employees, I would give them a 5. If you plan on going here, just make sure everything is totally right, and pray for no mistakes because if not then you will have to deal with Jack Dolan.
