It is nice being able to look at sports stuff and and pokemon in the same store
They got loooads of stuff. Great selection, friendly staff if youre looking for anything card game related ie yu-gi-oh pokemon magic.. they got it. Great staff. Super helpful, will be in again for sure.
Friendly and helpful staff.
I love this place because they are always so nice.
They are friendly and knowledgeable but only 4 stars because they tend to only have half of the cards Im looking for when Im buying singles
Great experience at this shop. Friendly staff...good selection.
We love this place. I get all my baseball memorabilia and my BF gets his magic cards here. Such amazing service on both sides of the store. The guy with longer hair on the game side of the store is super helpful. He helped me upgrade and improve one of my burn decks AND was extremely patient with me even though I am very new to the game. All the guys in the sports side are amazing and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. They even do lay a way!!
Came to store to look at Pokemon cards, I had asked if they had Pokemon singles they said yes, I questioned where they stated to look online and let them know what cards I would be interested in and they would pull them from the back stockroom. I responded with if I wanted to look/shop online I wouldnt be here in person! Thousands of sports cards on display but ZERO Pokemon singles on display.
With my 9 year old excited about Pokemon cards and recently discovering my old sports card collection, we visited for the first time today. Not only was it a mecca for a long-retired collector like me, but the staff (Rick and the Pokemon/Magic guy) was super informative, courteous, and made the decades-long time away for me feel like the exciting days of being 11 and drooling at all the cool sets, display cards and memorabilia.Best of all, after loading up a few current Beckett monthlies to help me price my old cards, some 60s era Dodgers cards for my father-in-law, random card holders and 50 cent wax packs, Rick asked my 9 year son if he needed any binder sleeves...and then proceeded to give him about 30, along with several small stacks of baseball cards to help build his collection - all complimentary - and entered us in the weekly raffle. To say my boy was impressed was an understatement. After walking out, he declared This is literally the best place on earth. Very impressed, fellas. Well be back.
Clean and well lit Game store with friendly staff and players. Has a wide variety of Gaming accessories, trading card games, board games, and tournaments available, all at reasonable prices. Andy took great care in welcoming my friends and I at our first time there and making sure we had a great experience. I look forward to coming to this shop in the future
An absolutely amazing place! The owner comes and talks to us every time we come up from out of town and is so personable and great. The employees are always awesome and ready to help pick a big list of cards even when I accidently come right when theyre closing. They didnt get upset at all!20/10 would recommend to anyone wanting to go to a shop and feel completely at home.
This is the absolute best card shop I have been to. The people there are helpful and always serve with a smile. I’ve been to other card shops expecting the same quality but it seems Northwest has set the bar way too high! I drive an hour and cross the bridge just to go to this card shop so I obviously recommend coming here. Overall, a family-friendly and relaxing place to go for playing card games!
Nice place with tons of cards from Magic to Pokemon to Sports cards. Had a lot of table and even a separate room to play games. They also had quite a few board games for sale. The individual that help me was new but still very knowledgeable and helpful. I will go there again when I want to get more table top gaming related items
Great prices and friendly staff, big game room and fairly diverse schedule of games. Highly recommend!
Great staff. Very helpful. Low magic card singles in stock but lots of boosters and supplies
Super helpful staff, very willing to answer game questions!
Mostly focused on cards and card games, but they have a really nice space for playing tabletop with big groups. Parking can be limited, but the side street and church parking spots are still okay to use. Your next local RPG or board game night could be held here!
Nice playing area. Not the best prices for sports memorabilia. I brought in over 10000 cards, signed baseballs and other memorabilia and was offered $20 in store credit only. I understand its a tough business but the offer was ridiculously low.
Crazy selection of sports cards and other collectibles.
Went in there briefly to get some Pokemon cards and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Answered all my questions. Will definitely be back!
Theyve updated their store in the last year or so to combine the sports memorabilia with their games. Lots of cool stuff to like in there. Local sports stars appear regularly for autograph sessions. Check their website or Facebook page for more information regarding who and when. They have a game playing space in the store and its pretty reasonably sized.
Helpful and friendly staff in the gaming card section. Immediately felt comfortable when asking questions. Great, reasonable prices. Sedate sports memoribealia crowded with merch. Like two stores in one.
These guys are tops. They really make my nephew feel comfortable and sometimes they give him extra cards from the back. Its all about perception and these guys got it down. We go at least 3 sundays a month.
I stopped by for a quick board games with great bunch of people.
Solid place. Good selection of product. Lots of events. Theyve been upgrading their card ordering system and look to be dabbling in comics.Their layout is a bit awkward and can be a bit weird with tables up for events. This is definitely the place in the area to go for your geek wares though.
These guys are super friendly and very knowledgeable. One person in particular offered to help my son go through his pokemon cards and teach him the best way to build a deck. Wonderful staff.
A few weeks ago, Arbor (my daughter) and I went into Northwest Sportscards Game Center. We owned a few Pokémon cards, had played Pokémon Go! back in 2016, but overall didnt connect over the cute, little creatures. We arrived on a Sunday after mass and the place had around 30 people sitting at tables playing card games. We started looking around not knowing where to start, but soon 2 staff came over and asked if they could help.Arbors face lit up as they began throwing around names like Oh-Ho and Ditto. They began trading memories of the lore around these creatures and their favorite Pokémon. One of the staff who knew Pokémon TCG well asked if wed like to play. I hadnt been able to teach Arbor the rules of the game, because I was having trouble myself. Again, Arbor couldnt have been happier that someone at a Card Game store wanted to play Pokémon. She was in her element of the crowd. As Sebastian began teaching Arbor to play, we learned he had recently started U Dub T after completing military service. He was patient with Arbor and allowed her to learn choices in the flow of the game. After some time playing he motioned over to the other staff. They interacted for a bit. Soon he had 3, specially-cased cards laid out in front of him. Arbor, he said, each time you take out one of my Pokémon, you can turn over one of these cards and keep it.He allowed her to take out the first Pokémon. She flipped the card and it was a holographic Umbreon card (a what?). She had mentioned earlier that Umbreon was her favorite. Sebastian had remembered and purchased Arbor 3 cards for her personal deck. She almost did a back flip.We stayed for over an hour. Weve been back every chance since and through this experience have a new interest to share. All thanks to some thoughtful, ultra rare people at the shop.
Went in today to play the new prerelease. Lots of fun and I got some great cards.
They have a ton of tables for games and a really nice set up for d&d with a whole table map with little buildings and trees and retain and stuff. Pretty cool shop.
Nice big store with lots of game space. Decent selection of Mtg products and board games.
Great place to buy singles and one of the few local card stores, just keep in mind they are a business and will charge premium.
Ideal community for every game exemplified. Ideal retail representatives, they make you feel welcome. The paragon of Game Stores.
This place has great selection, great prices, great play areas, and most importantly, great staff. We always feel welcomed when we come in. Would highly recommend for all your gaming needs. MtG prerelease pricing and tournament atmosphere are the absolute best.
Amazing card shop if youre shopping for card games such as Magic the Gathering, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, etc. Also a really nice place to sit down and play with friends. The cashiers are knowledgeable on th games if you have questions
Good selection of what I was looking for and decent prices
Best place to play yugioh and other card games the staff that work their are friendly and amazing
I was not impressed I understand there a for profit business but then saying my lebron James rookie card was only worth 7.00 bucks was offensive, yes I understand grading of cards and the condition of mine was no where near poor enough to be of that little value, I will go to a couple other stores for second and third opinions, but according to Ebay the value of that card upgraded was 50.00 to 100.00 and graded up to 179.00 completed of course
Fantastic store. Excellent customer service. Great FNM.
Wonderful staff. Great place to play, nicest in tacoma
Great experience, Andy was really helpful and informative. Definitely recommend.
Genuine and knowledgeable staff. Large space available for gaming use. Would recommend.
Good sized store, great for magic players. Board game Friday night had a good showing of fun people.
Great layout more space than you could ask for tons of singles on hand great ordering system awesome staff and the best group of regulars with the perfect mix of competitive and relaxed
Great place to shop. I have been going here for about 25 years.
Friendly service, great people clean store. Runs regular events
Nice enough people wish tein was still around
The space is huge and much of it is devoted to tables for gaming. Highest in slope game slopex I got was 120, I felt like the flash!
Its a nice place for Friday Night Magic, Commander. They have a lot of options in terms of booster packs.
The online catalogue of their cards is a great feature. Lots of table space and friendly staff.
Friendly and helpful staff, healthy product selection, well run events, all round an A+ location for gaming in my opinion.
Just called looking for an obscure, low-value card and they very sweetly found it for me with speed and professionalism! Great service!
Really good place to play and buy all your X-Wing Minatures items.
Nice people, good space for gaming, good prices
A little chaotic, he just moved so he hasnt even gone thru all the cards hes gotten in. Meaning unless youve got amazing cards hes probably not taking them. But the table tops looked totally legit!
My son and I are 8 months in to collecting and playing pokemon tcg. I have acquired a lot of excess trainers. Ultra balls vs seekers, trainers mail. So I thought I would give Hector a chance to trade for them so kids could end up with them in their decks. And I could get some more collectable stuff I didnt have. It was a large collection mostly $1 or $2 cards etc. It took Hector 1 and a half hours to make an offer. Fine. Meanwhile I watched them rip an old guy off for 10 worthless oversized pokemon cards for $30. Lol. Hector offered me $71 store credit (not cash) for my collection. It felt bad. So bad I took my cards home and looked them up on tcg player. I did low end worse case scenario and it was $354. It was 20 percent of tcg player. All playable cards. Now the reason for the bad review is they earned it for old man they hosed and the attempt at hosing me. Its that type of business that kills the hobby. They are more concerned about a quick dollar then establishing a good buy sell relationship. It shows in there booster box prices. $110 plus tax.
Pokemon cards & packs! The kids liked that they could ask questions.
Hello, I am not only new to Tacoma, but Im also a gamer. Ive been trying to expand my views from Pokemon to card games like magic. So Ive checked this place out a couple times this week, even today, and received the same unwanted attitude from each of its employees. I would come in ask a basic question about magic because I dont really know anything about the game. When they answer my questions in a shameful manner, they would then look at me as if I shouldnt be there or have no right to be there. Then after my questions were answered, it appeared as if they tried to rush me out of the door by nonchalantly escorting me to the door. Furthermore, while magic games are going on, they dont even bother to allow me observe other players or even refer me to players who might be willing after their game to give me the run down of the game. What Ive view their reasons for acting rude and disrespectful to me, when Ive done nothing to them, is because of me being identified as LGBTQA male in an area of straight white males. Either way of their reasons, I would suggest caution to LGBTQA people and that there are other places that would welcome gamers like us.
Had exactly what I was looking for, and much more. Friendly staff and easy to get to location.
Great place. Great staff. Cool events.
They were very helpful and patient with me, a newb, having to create a new commander deck! Couldnt have made the deck without their help!
Large open space. Very cozy and inviting.
Good selection and the staff are very helpful.
Good service and nice selections. They hold tournaments here on Saturdays.
Great area to play and very friendly, helpful staff!
Staff is very nice and very knowable about the products they sell
Im a fan of the tournaments. Staff is helpful.
Love this place
Great amount of space for card and board games!!
Staff are a bit too condescending. No dungeons and dragons dice sets, not friendly environment for people new to game styles.
Great new location!
Good pokemon section.
Totally ripped me off when when buying Pokemon cards from me. Had prices listed on a buylist and maybe offered half of the prices listed.
The owner was super chill.
Went in here wanting to know some info about magic cards (I have ZERO knowledge) and the men who were working treated me as I was some retarded peasant girl who should know better than to ask such trivial and silly questions, clearly only a fool would do such a thing!!!
Your one stop shop for sports memoribilia
I hope they get a Pokestop here!!
X-wing Tournament last Sunday of every of every month.
