The space is a bit small, but neat. They’ve got space for gaming nights and the people we interacted with were nice. They’ve got a few neat random things you can do like the converted gum all machine I have posted here. The pricing on the booster packs is a bit high tho.

Pretty underwhelming selection but the place is nice and tidy.A guy came in without a mask and they turned him away despite him having a medical condition. Thats not great, but understandable if you choose to run your business that way. I was not impressed however by the staff mocking and talking poorly about a would be customer after he politely left. Its just not professional. Run your business the way you want, but leave it at that.

Its the only place I go to for anything related to MTG products. The staff is kind, and is always willing to help. Their prices are competitive (and believe me Ive shopped around). As far as a local game store goes, its the best there is in the area.

Never played d&d but really want to try. Ive been listening to podcasts of ppl playing g d&d, pathfinder, and star finder also I watch alot of videos on YouTube. So Im im somewhat know the basic rules and certain lingo. I got no one to play with and really wanna play. Is this place good and open for newcomers?Thanks on advance.

First visit here were really good, however second visit we could not go in as they only had curbside pickup which wouldnt be a problem except they claimed online that they were open for customers to come in.

Great place for gaming needs. Convenient location on 6th ave. Ive only been in a few times but staff was friendly. They have a good game selection and cater to MtG and other role playing games but thats not all they offer. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly.They also offer a nice discord channel for Magic, D&D, and role playing to help build on the community during the pandemic.

Anytime I visit the area, this is my go-to FLGS. While Covid-19 restrictions made in-store play impossible, the staff was friendly and extremely helpful while maintaining social distancing guidelines.

Great place to explore the world of board games. Tables are available for playing a ton of games they have set out for trying or bring your own. Lots of fun to hang out, play some games, or find some new games to share with the family!

A wonderful place, I have gone there for Monday night commander for a while, and it has always been a great experience. I also orded cards for curbside pickup and that went very smoothly.

Awesome game store. Huge room to play whatever you want as well. Board games in plethora distracted me from D&D supplies and MTG cards they also carry a lot of. Cool adventurers leauge area.

Hadnt been in a while since I moved further away, but showed up to get a theros beyond death box. They were excited to see me, friendly, and the box was a great price. There was also a packaging error by wizards so the promos were a bit unusually packaged, but the employee was super helpful in explaining why it was that way, that we still got all the promos, and apologized for the confusing situation. Super friendly and helpful staff, and Ill definitely be going out of my way to make it down more often!!!

Great atmosphere, very classy game shop. Love all the board game options & that they cater to many different types of games (tabletop, magic, board games, etc.) Plus the location is close to a bunch of great restaurants and an ice cream store. Easy to play games and then grab food.

I have been going to Tacoma games for about three years now for a weekly dungeons and dragons game. The building is great, perfectly suited for a game store and the staff are very very knowledgeable. They have a very full selection of games that you have heard of and games you may have not. They also have an impressive selection of role play games. Our group has recently tried the savage world system and, while different, it is very fun. But also, of course, have a good selection of dice and minis.

Ordered online some DND books and chose delivery thinking they would ship it out. No Jeremy the owner hand delivered it. I will definitely buy from them again. I rather support local game shops then Amazon.

This is a community oriented game space and store for cards, board games, RPGs, and more. The guys who own and run the store gave me some great tips and tricks to paint miniatures, and you can get that stuff here too. Come in, check it out, ask questions, and see if there is something geeky and fun you might want to try.

I have been going here for more than 2 years now, and I can confidently say that its the best game store Ive ever been to. The people, both players and staff, are just nice people. The draft room is also adorned with great art. Just a really nice place.

This is a store run by people who love games. A really diverse selection of board, card and role playing games. They also have snacks! I really like that they host games. Not just tournaments. There is something for all skill levels and age groups. A welcome addition to community!

I cant say enough about this place, friendly staff, short wait time, and they are willing to order in products especially for you if they run out of stock. This is my home game store for Magic. Wonderful group of regulars.

It’s a very clean place with good stock but I’ve been in there more than a handful of times and I’ve hated every moment of it every time. The customer service is just bad. They’ve never once greeted me when entering the store. They aren’t very courteous or warm. They’re not really that helpful or accommodating for those with questions. It’s not just me, I’ve watched them with others and it’s disappointing, because it’s a well-kept place. But it turns out I’d rather go somewhere that’s cooler with their customers even if its messier and inconvenient.

Its a great local shop run by great people. Both a variety of board games, and fun Magic: The Gathering events make it one of my favorite places in the area. Its also in a great location right next to a Mexican food restaurant/truck and across from Legendary Donuts.

The new store is great! It has air conditioning, clean playing surfaces with the large playmats, respectful staff, and a clean bathroom. Decent selection of products and they carry singles for CCGs.

The first thing I noticed walking in is how much open space there is. Your average gaming store is packed with product and this place isnt. It gives the place room to breathe but also told me that odds were, unless it was very popular, I wasnt going to find what I was looking for here. And I was right.Theres a fair amount of core products (core rulebooks, base games) but little to be found for supplemental content for those core products unless, again, its a very popular game.The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my conversations with them, but the bottom line is that they simply didnt carry anything I was looking for. So, if youre into Magic and D&D, youll likely be set. If youre into other things you might find what youre looking for, you might not.Id call first.

Small store but it has a lot of things inside that you never thought you would see again. In talking over my purchase, it sounds like they do buy collections which is an awesome thing, but I dont know the details. Mostly MTG, but not a lot of boxes of cards for sale that you might find in any other card/sports shop. Parking can be fun depending on the time of day, and while the staff did not immediately greet me when I came in, it was nice to shop in peace without being swarmed. Carries RPG books and tabletop box games.

Very welcoming owners. My husband had a question about a game hed heard about. The owner and his friend had lots of useful information. This place has tons of games, they also have tables for group play and they have scheduled game times for some specific games, such as Magic.

My adult daughter and I went on the hunt for a place to get out of the ordinary games for our wintertime family game nights that would accommodate the various ages of our family members and were quite excited to find Tacoma Games. We took the kids with us and headed over for a short drive to the shop and were very pleased that we took the time! The owners are much like ourselves and enjoy a large variety of game play and were attentive to us. They helped us select a few games and we have had a great time learning them. We are looking forward to visiting for some of the game plays and it is a relief to know that we will have a place to get help if we have questions! I am super excited about this new store. Games are an awesome way for families to build great memories.

Ive been here twice now. Each visit, Ive not been addressed by the person behind the counter. Both times I took my time looking at board games and observing things in their play area. Each visit I was there no less than 15 minutes.Now, my most recent visit, I could see improvements in the store. Theyve added some shelving, increased their selection of products, and they look to have increased the number of events they have. Parking is a little tough around this business, but overall, its OK. Just not great.

Ive never been to a game shop that has cared about my business and me as a person more than Tacoma Games. Every time Ive been in for a Magic pre-release, the owner is always very generous about what he gives away, instructs his employs to give the customer the utmost respect, and most importantly, is very enthusiastic about his shop and cares what you have to say. The shop is far cleaner than other shops Ive been too, nicely air-conditioned on hot days while warm on cool days, lovely community, and bottomless coffee. The type of game shop others should hold their standard to.

I wasnt expecting much going into this business but I was impressed. Several house games to play, good selection of games for sale, nice employees, cold day but nice and warm inside, clean bathroom, plenty of table space to play on.

Look if you are going here you most likely are a nerd looking for nerd things. Take it from a local that this is the best place in town for such nerdery. Mtg is the biggest thing but there is also a star wars xwing crowd and DnD as well as other such things.

A friend told me about this store, and so I went with my boyfriend. I was immediately in love with the store and the owners, Lorian and Carl, know every thing there is to know about games! They are more than willing to spend time with you to get to know you, and find a game that you will love. If they do not have a game on hand, they will order one for you. If you want to play test a game, they generally have one, or they will open one. It is extremely family friendly, and I have found myself sepending several hours there playing games. I am so happy there is a game store in Tacoma. There are not enough great things that I can say about this place, or the people who own it They are just wonderful.

5 stars all day. I searched for months for aplace to play my game (X-wing) and i finally found a home. The staff is friendly, well read and not low, but no pressure about slaes. Very informative. Ive played 7 games of X-wing so far, 1 was an exhibition andim currently 5-1 and would incourage all X-wing players in the area, and all gamers for that matter, to make this their new home. Good prices, and if they font have what youneed in stock they will order it. Tons of sample games, and soda/snacks are aslo avaliable.
